Thanks Carol Sue. I'm really glad BIL didn't have the virus. Sorry y'all lost at the casino. I don't guess people can win all the time. But I wouldn't like losing so I wouldn't play.

Walmart was busy but not as bad as it would have been yesterday when people got paid. Most of the people I saw there had their masks on. I think the fact that the mayor requested it but didn't put a fine on it helps a lot. People don't seem to mind being asked but they don't being forced.

I'm going over my daily points today. I planned it that way. Not sure how that will work out on Saturday morning WI. However, I already know I'm not going to lose that 3 lbs I had lost when I was sick so I'll have a gain this week regardless. I am going to enjoy this weekend and get back OP when I get back home. However, I will still use my app to track as best as I can while traveling.

Edited to share... Remember that WW slider card I lost years ago that measured the fiber, calories etc to give the pts? I just bought it from Amazon. It will be in my mail box when I get back home Monday. Go figure.

Wt is down .2 again today. So that's a loss 3 days in a row. 192.2. That's one good thing about the buffet being closed. I only had a hot dog. They have a good salad but there's no choice of dressing and I don't like the dressing they have with it.

Trish, we used to win some and lose some at the other casino. Most of the time we brought home at least what we took and we won big more often than most. We came home broke one time out of 5. That's good odds. It is no different than spending money on a trip. You enjoy the trip but the money is gone. Or going to a show or concert. But we never did well at this PA casino. The bad thing about the WVa casino is they got rid of the machine DH used to play and did good on, and it's a longer drive. I think eventually DH will want to go back there. Also, we have been going in the afternoon because it's not as crowded. In the evening more people are there and when they have more people spending money they let the machines hit more. As long as you can control your spending it is just like any other form of entertainment. I always take my Kindle with me and I can read while he gambles. We're just disappointed because we only won one time out of 4 now. That's not good.

Does the slider card measure the new WW points? I have 2 points calculators but I think the points have been changed since then. I also have a food scale that measures points. You set it for chicken and put your chicken on and it tells you how many points for that piece of chicken. But I think it's for the old points.

We did not go to Wal-Mart yesterday. We like to go around 10am and it's not crowded then. I never notice it being crowded on SS day. Maybe we don't have as many older people in our area. Many go to the full service grocery across the street. Or Aldis around the corner. I prefer Wal-Mart for most things. Ours is very crowded on Sunday and they run out of everything. It seems that people shop on Sunday after church to get stocked up for the coming week. I like our area because we have so much shopping close by.

You leave tomorrow, so I will wish you well. Be safe, and we'll talk when you return.

Carol Sue I the only reason I wouldn't go to the casino is that I'm not sure I would be as self-disciplined as y'all. I'm afraid I would be one of those people who couldn't stop until I was broke. My Daddy always said that he loved poker and evidently was very good at it. He would play on pay day during the war and send his winnings home to my Mama and she put it in the savings. When he got home, they took the money she had saved from his poker games and bought our first home. He still gambled on the weekends until he got saved and went into the ministry. The he told me about it, he said that he would still love playing a good poker game. I would only be happy as long as I was winning. I think it is great that you and DH can enjoy that. I wish DH had something he enjoyed besides just sitting and watching tv. DHs 1 & 2 loved fishing and I could go and enjoy that. We sit too much doing nothing. If we had money like we did years ago, we would be traveling since DH loves to travel. Like you say, it is our form of entertainment. If we ever get past this epidemic, we could start making short trips since there are places even I haven't seen in TX.

Speaking of epidemic, we have 79 new cases in our county. I think beautician said over 300 active in our country and mostly ages in mid 20s. We even have to wear masks in beauty shop now. I could take it off while she washed my hair, but had to wear it the rest of the time. I learned at that the stores have to put a sign out at the door saying it is required but they can't enforce it because the people can sew them if they refuse to wear it, but the store can be fined. Personally now that it is on the uptake, I have no problem wearing the masks. I haven't been wearing the gloves but I just might start using them again.

I think the pt counts have probably changed since I had that slider card, but I will like having it because I know that plan worked for me years ago and I will have it. If I decide to go it on my own after my 6 month contract is up, I can keep doing WW using it. Many of those on the Blue plan say the Blue plan is the same as the old Freestyle plan. Since I'm not sure which one that was, I will still be able to do WW using the slider to check the points on foods in the store. I never could get enough signals in Walmart yesterday to get my WW app to work. It would have been nice to have the card to do it manually. I will see my way through my contract and then decide if I want to go on my own.

Changed my WI to today. We go out with DS and BIL on Fridays and this way my going out days will have a week to work off those foods without it showing on my WI day. Weight up today to 201.8 lbs. That is .6 lbs from yesterdays KFC. I figured since I was going to have a gain any way because being sick made me low last week that I might as well go ahead and show it today. And of course, I won't be able to weigh all weekend. However, I will check FBG each morning. It was 105 this morning. In fact, since I've been on WW, all my FBS and BP has been really good. I may to try to start weighing once a week if I can. Exercise this week has been just moving around more.

I have our large luggage pretty well packed. DH will probably be able to pack it tonight. We will probably leave around 9 or 10 in the morning. DH will love this trip since I'm only taking one large bag for both of us and our overnight cases. He won't know what to do not having to pack the trunk and back seat. LOL Unless he talks me into it, I don't plan to take my pc. I will have my kindle, but I don't use kindle for pc. So I will check in with y'all either Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

Y'all have a great weekend.

Wt is up .4. But I'm bouncing lower than I was. We went to TX Roadhouse again. I ate the same as I did last time, ribs, plain potato and broccoli/carrots, and brought half of my meal home.

I looked out my kitchen window this morning and there was a deer looking back at me. We usually see them on the hill but they rarely come down into the yard, at least not in the daylight.

The deer was back a few hours later, but did not come all the way down into the yard. DH says she's looking for food. I hope she didn't eat from DHs garden!!

Happy Saturday to all.

Made it to my nieces fine. She and her Hubby took us around town site seeing and it is nice little town with lots of history. We went out to eat for her birthday at Golden Corral and DS and I blew our pts today plus I used all my weeklies. DN & DN and DH and I walked thought a Lilly Pond garden I still needed to walk more. Will see my DGS tomorrow.

Weight was back down under 200 this morning. Barely but it was down.

Talk to you again Tuesday.

Have a nice weekend.

Trish, that's great that you're back down to Onederland. I did that for a while before holding it. It's ok to go over your points for a special occasion. I'm glad you arrived safely and are having a nice time.

My weight is back up to 193. I had an extra half sandwich yesterday and popcorn last night.

Angry Confirmed loss in danger!

Carol: Sorry to hear you lost at the casino. Hang in there with regards to getting the weight down!
Trish: Congrats on getting below 200!
Mad: I hope your trip is going well and that your DD finds a good job! I will write about my thyroid issues below.

After looking good all week, the scale was up a pound this morning from last week. This is particularly frustrating because I purposefully ate very well yesterday because I wanted today's weigh-in to go smoothly. I've only had two weights this month that were above my weight at the start of the month. Both were on my official weigh-in day (today and two weeks ago). I am really hoping I can at a minimum maintain this month or possibly even post a small (undeserved) loss. I have been doing okay this month but not as well as I did last month. In theory since I only maintained last month, this month should be a gain.

My energy seeking behavior returned full force this morning. I've had two caffeinated beverages this morning and I am working on my third. It has taken me from wanting to only post a quick check in to engaging more fully. I think this means my supplements are really helping me. I forgot to take my supplements yesterday morning and I think that is why I feel so lousy today. In general, I have several endocrine problems.

One is I am hypothyroid due to Hashimoto's. My symptoms are consistent with low thyroid hormones. However, here in the states, doctor's will only use TSH as a guide for treatment under threat of losing their license if they don't. This leaves me in an awful position as I also have a pituitary problem. The pituitary is the gland that is suppose to produce TSH. TSH is used because for the majority of the population a small change in a thyroid hormone (T4) level creates a large, 10-fold, change in TSH. I have a lab results that prove this isn't the case for me. At one point, my T4 level was half of what it was when I sought treatment from this particular doctor but my TSH didn't change. Despite the what the data actual said, he pronounced my thyroid values as 'perfect'. I literally cried after that call because at the time, I was passing out after exercise and could hardly function. I've burned through five endocrinologist. The one I have now is at least willing allow my TSH level to be very low. This seems to be the best I can do.

Another health issue I have is deformed feet that cause me considerable pain and limit me a great deal. I have some good news though. I have been accepted to get some specific braces that can help me. Other individuals who have gotten them describe them as life changing. For a long time I was on the fence about even getting evaluated for them because I held out hope that enough weight loss would help. However, the weight loss is really hard for me to accomplish and even when I was a healthy weight, I still had a lot of pain. Now that I am getting older, I think it will only be downhill from here (i.e., more pain/limitations). The thought of being able to do simple things like go to the grocery store or walk around the block without pain is inconceivable to me. Considering this, it is hard to believe I have completed (last one was in 2017) over a dozed triathlons- with all of this weight and other issues! Really trying to work on the weight loss because it can only help with the leg braces.

Pipsicle, I'm sorry you are having so many issues. I'm glad to hear you were approved for the braces. I sure hope they help. I can understand why the weight loss is so important for other than the usual reasons. It seems that everything is going against you with your medical issues. I hope you are able to turn the corner soon.

Wt is down .8 today. I didn't eat much yesterday. I slept almost 8 hours and feel rested. Unusual for me to sleep until 7:30 but we were up a little later. Maybe that's the key, but I get sleepy earlier.

Well, we are home from our trip. It was a long and tiring trip but DH and I enjoyed our time away and also realized that we really needed the time away. I think change of scenery was good for us. I told him that we need to start just getting away even if it is just for a day trip.

We both ate way too much but my FBG stayed fair less than 125 and I stepped on the scale really quick when we got home just before I took a quick shower and I still weighed 199 and that was around 4 pm. So maybe I will be fine.

Pipsicle I am so sorry you are having such health issues. I do hope the braces will be really helpful to you. I have read a lot about how the thyroid tests are never read correctly so we only can get just so much help in that area.

Carol Sue Looks like your weight is slowly moving and if you are like me... any downward movement is acceptable.

Tomorrow I will get back OP with exercise too. I wore tennis shoes traveling going and my feet swelled and felt miserable. Then DN and her DH decided to take DH and me to see their town. They had a Lilly Pond garden she wanted us to see so we walked it. It was up hill and rocky. However, I did walk it and I wanted to because I had been sitting in the car all day. When I got to the motel that night and took my shoes off, my feet were beet red. No blisters but just so sore most of the night and part of the next day. I never wore the tennis shoes again. I don't like riding in no where land in sandals for fear of car trouble and having to walk, but I didn't dare wear anything but the sandals today and my feet are fine. I am so careful about my feet. The main thing DH and I have learned from this trip is that they have to quit sitting so much and get ourselves into better shape. I am definitely going to have to get my act together starting tomorrow morning.

Now I've got laundry to wash and start getting things organized around here.

Trish, I'm so glad you enjoyed the trip so much! It's always fun to get away. I wear tennis shoes all the time now. That's the only thing that's comfortable for me since I had my foot issues. The ride home from the casino is 1.5 hours and by the time we get here I have a hard time getting out of the car, I'm all stiff from sitting so long.

I did not weigh this am. I look and feel all puffy. I had a very bad night. I was sweating (with air condition running) and nauseated and my heart was racing. I've had this two other times. I'm not sure but it seems as though it happens when I take G close to bedtime and my sugar comes down quickly. I think I need to be sure my blood sugar is down before I go to bed. It was not too low. I checked and it was 91. I can see from my Fitbit that I was awake between 12:45 and 3:15 and my heart rate was elevated. Once I fell asleep I slept well but only a few hours. Getting old is not always fun.

Our Aldi's finally got the Zero Net Carb bread. I bought both the wheat and the multi seed and I like them both. I don't know if it's worth it to buy it instead of the 45 calorie though because it is $3.99 per loaf and it's a smaller loaf. I probably won't make a special trip to Aldi's to get it. Alex's also has a 45 calorie bread.

My step daughter got a letter from her employer telling her she is terminated. She is not upset because she will continue to get unemployment for a while but I am concerned for the time when she does have to find a job. She is in her 50s and that is a detriment. This virus has changed everything.

Good Morning everyone. I am really glad that I am doing WW. Weight this morning is 198. FBG 123. I lost 4.6 lbs this month. YEY!!! I have not lost that much in one month in I have no idea how long. So obviously WW does work for me.

I am working on 2 meals and a snack today. I have had my eggs, Canadian bacon and 2 sl SLMG 45 calorie toast and of course my banana. We will have swai fillet for lunch. At that point I will still have 10 pts left for the day. So I can have a tv dinner if I want and still have a couple of pts left if I need it. However, I'm going to work at not having to eat anything else if I don't want or need it.

DN is in a Nutrition class now in Nursing school and they are now teaching them to encourage people to eat Intuitively instead of dieting. They are using the guidelines of the authors of the Intuitive Eating books. I thought that was interesting. She read it to me and I told her that I have their books. DS told her that was my favorite way of eating. I told her that I thought that I need the guidelines of WW of eating fruit, veggies etc, but that I think it should be done Intuitively instead of thinking you have to eat all the calories etc they say to eat. I told her that when I did WW in SC that my doctor finally agreed to me eating that way. She asked if I got Dr. McHenry to agree to it and I told her that I had never discussed it with him. She asked that because he was her doctor when she lived here. She was curious how he would feel about it. I may ask him or just tell him about it when I see him, but I want to be able to tell him that is how I am eating and let him see the results before I do. So that is how I am doing WW now. I am doing WW Intuitively. That is why I'm not going to worry about whether I eat OMAD, 2MAD or not.

I tried to change some things on my cell phone and because I had gmail when I moved here but it was connected to my email in SC, I never could retrieve it. It kept trying to set up a new FB page for me and I didn't want to change it. I couldn't remember the password and it would only send it to SC. My DN is very computer savvy so she was able to get me back into the gmail so I was able to get all that straightened out. So I got a double blessing going to see her.

Carol Sue I am so sorry about your step daughter's job. I hope things will begin to get better by the time she needs a job. I know this whole covid thing is causing more havoc for everybody and because they politicize it, no one knows who is or isn't right.

You definitely need to be careful taking that G too close to going to bed. I think I've pretty much decided to just stick with the SLMG bread, but I do want to start going to Aldi's. I would like to go there on Friday after the beauty shop while I'm on that side of town to get some of my fruit. They had beautiful fruit and veggies in SC on Fridays but I don't know much about this one here.

I guess I better get off here. I'm too long winded. I hope everyone has a good day today.

Trish, I think our Aldi's gets produce in every day and you have to go early in the day to get the best.

I think IE is "normal eating.". The whole purpose of eating is to put fuel in your body when it needs it. You would not put gas in your car if the tank was full. And WW allows you to eat all food groups. I don't know what doctor would object to that, especially if you are healthy and losing weight.

This book I've been reading Always Eat After 7 PM is wonderful. Not necessarily the late eating schedule, which really doesn't agree with me, but it has a big section about what to eat and it explains the value of all the different fruits and vegetables beyond vitamins and minerals. The kindle book is only 99 cents and I highly recommend it to anyone who is doubtful about the benefits of vegetables and fruit.

Trish, my step daughter has a learning disability and it is hard for her to learn a job. But she did this job for 8-10 years and was good at it. Unfortunately that position was eliminated and they had no other position suited to her. I'm afraid she will end up working somewhere like Wal-Mart where no specific skills are needed. This is the worst time to be looking for a job.

Carol Sue I didn't know that about your step-daughter. However, we can pray for her a new job. I'm sure the Lord has just the right place where she would fit in so we'll just pray for the right door to open up for her when the time is right for her. Maybe she can just enjoy being home and drawing unemployment in the meantime. God has done that many times in my life for me and I'm sure He will do the same for her.

Carol Sue I agree with you about eating Intuitively being the normal way of eating. We kind of ate that way this weekend and it obviously worked. What is the name of the book you are reading? You know me I love to read those books. I'll get it on m kindle. I do enjoy my fruit and I need to get back to my veggies as well. I went to an oriental diet doctor years ago to get diet pills. I never took them or went back because my primary scared the crap out of me when he said "You can go get those pills and you will lose weight, but I will treat you for heart trouble years later." I trusted him so I quit. Any way he suggested that you should eat just One meal a day that was Meatless and just veggies. I've often wondered if that was a smart thing to do but I've never tried it. Then there was the diet I had when I first was diagnosed with diabetes. Eat only fruit in the morning until noon, eat meatless lunch and eat meal with meat for dinner. However, I really think that people find a way of eating that works for them and they make a diet out of it. I would thing that none of those could be too bad for you as long as you didn't overdo any one food group. I personally am enjoying eating a wide variety of food groups and eating them sensibly.

Edited to say; I bought the book and just started reading it. Thanks.

I'm glad you bought the book, Trish. I really don't think the always eating after 7 PM would work for me unless it's just veggies or something light but I think the information he gives about fruits and veggies is perfect.

We went to Wal-Mart this afternoon and I was surprised at how well I was able to walk, especially after the night I had. The parking lot slopes up a little and often I take DHs arm, but I walked right up to the door with no problem. In the store I walked well too but I had the cart .

You would never know my step daughter had a problem. It is not noticeable on a day to day basis but she did poorly in school and one teacher told me this at a parent/teacher meeting. She often is slow to understand things. Hopefully her husband will keep his good job.
