Hello everyone it is Friday weigh-in day.
boatingmommy: you're right there are a lot of healthy asian food choices here where I live. It's hard to be overweight unless you just decide to be. I have lived in Jpn over 10 years but I never developed a taste for some of the things. We have mcdonalds here but I only go once a month - not at all since I started my diet on Oct 18th. Anyway - if all I ate was japanese food it would greatly simplify my diet that's for sure. I think 50% of the stuff probably has negative calories
an example of some of the things I think have negative calories - probably not far from joking - konyaku, daikon, burdock.

So, I had a really weird time running yesterday - 45 minutes in, I just didn't feel like running anymore. I wasn't exhausted or anything, I jut didn't feel like it. And literally couldn't get myself to keep running. So I ended up walking like 3k back. Well, happens.
Anyways, it's my weigh-in day today! I'm happy with the result, guess sticking to plan does reward you It is probably a lot of water weight. Well, or maybe what woodstock said, weight you gain fast, you lose fast. Glad to have lost the Christmas junk though!
boatingmommy I laughed at your 'bunch of losers' comment. Thanks!
Turtle11 Nice drop!
imabehot probably water weight keep at it!!
NightAngel26 well done! Hope you're having a great day
Woodstock guess you're scale is rewarding you for sticking through all the unreasoned gains and awkward stalls. Good job!
Jacqui_D Yep, I guess people need to understand that the Biggest Loser is a TV show for entertainment like Survivor and has nothing to do with real life. The German version is still not a lifestyle for real life, but not so much over the top. It's just sad that the contestants are hard to be identified with this season.
Loved the quote collection, by the way!
darius I looked up the foods you mentioned - looks real delicious! Do you like the taste of it? Also, nice loss this week
When The Whoosh Fairy comes, she really is being generous with me . I had a 3.2 drop yesterday Which means I met my GOAL for the month. -- I knew I should had lost weight all week, but those darn TOM hormones kept me bloated. Now that TOM came all that water is escaping my system
Good morning all

good morning! It looks like most everyone is doing great!
Congrats sum for meeting goal already!!!!! Thats outstanding!
To everyone struggling, just keep up the good work and the scale has to cooperate eventually! I am struggling too, I have been keeping my carbs below 30 net and usually 17-23 and I have been working out and I am just bouncing around 244-45 since the first. GRRRRR! It is all good though, because it has to cooperate eventually. Yesterday I saw 243.7 and was so happy it was 243 again, but then did a heavy arm workout and was so busy at the front counter at work I barely got any water in at all. So today I am sore and retaining water.
I am fine with bouncing like this, I just need to see that the trend is downward at least!
eta: well when I look at my fluctuations, each high is lower than the last... I guess that is a good sign.
Was on target in points yesterday. Shoveled more snow for exercise...now I have jello arms. Going to do my best to behave this weekend. It is the RV/Camper show in St. Louis. We will go and think thoughts of spring and warmer weather. Hope you all have a great weekend lined up! Oh, and today marks 20 weeks until our Disney World Trip (more warm weather thoughts).
Darius - I have never heard of some of the dishes you posted, but I do love a lot of those vegetable based meals. They are so good for you...if the added meat isn't loaded with sodium. You have been doing such a great job with your diet...keep it up!
183 - Nice job! Even giving up on the run you still exercised, which is more than most (me) would do. I've tried to be a runner...just not into it. I love video workouts where I am in the comfort of my home in my sloppy old workout clothes.
Sum - Fabulous drop! I hope when my TOM is over I get a whoosh of some sort.
NightAngel, Woodstock - nice drops since the beginning of the month!!
Rsadler - Hang in there!!! Sending you lots of willpower and a hug.
Jacqui - Love all the quotes!
pixikat - I know you are working like crazy...hope your week went well!!!
To all I have missed - Keep moving forward!!!
Okay, I have to go get dressed for work. Happy Friday!!!
When The Whoosh Fairy comes, she really is being generous with me . I had a 3.2 drop yesterday Which means I met my GOAL for the month. -- I knew I should had lost weight all week, but those darn TOM hormones kept me bloated. Now that TOM came all that water is escaping my system
I don't have TOM any more, and that's just fine with me, even if it means fewer visits from the whoosh fairy. I just wish Aunt Flo hadn't taken my metabolism with her when she left. Congrats on the huge whoosh! That's a LOT of weight to drop overnight, even if it was just water. Wow!
I am down another .8 pounds to 162.0. w00t!
Today's an UpDay so I am looking forward to lots of yummy food, some gardening/yard work, and then a serious walking workout tonight. I purchased a waist leash for the dog so I can do some upper body work with wrist weights while I walk. Also I got some additional vest weights. Tonight it will be three miles, with hills, one whole hour of light arm exercises, plus carrying 24 pounds total weights.
woodstock: Good job with the 2 lb drop!I'm sure you're just seeing success after working so hard....congrats!!
jacqui d: salt seems to affect weight huh? ty on the props...I'm a lil up myself.... might have been salt....I don't track my salt as well and I don't drink enough water....I'm sure you'll be fine though, water probably helps.
gardenerjoy: it is hard when we are home a lot and can't go outside isn't it? I really miss green grass and no ice...!! how much snow do you have right now in Missouri? We're Vermont... it snows a foot then rains two days later this year, it's odd.
trayteam: good job sticking to it and eating better...watch salt though it's terrible for retention....
rsadler126: eh, TOM does that, heavy gains...you should see a nice whoosh next time, don't get too discouraged!
susan 1975: good job going in the right direction
darius: I have heard that there are a lot of foods we don't see in the U.S. that are not so heavy and overloaded and that here we even add more junk to things we claim to be authentic? make sense? Also, good job moving toward your goal!!
183stgb: hey you are soooo! close to your goal....that's awesome and keep up the good work!
sum38: congrats on goal!! and so early this month that's awesome!!!
vicki1: good job on your loss!! did I ask you yet what your plan is?
imabehot: good job on the loss, if I haven't said it...welcome!!
kelijpa: good job going in the right direction!
pnkrckpixicat: it'll be ok, you're not really increasing much whick probably points to retention which falls off pretty well.
boatingmommy: ty and you're doing well too! Shoveling should help too it sure is a workout....haven't had a big enough snow to bother for a few days but that's sure ok too. Have a good day!
shr1nk1ng me: congrats on the loss, I'm impressed with your weights, most I ever had were some ankle weights but you'd be hard pressed to get me to do any serious walking or whatnot outside anyway....bleh snow....now if i had snow pants a snowball fight might be in order...sadly very few snowpants would fit me have a good day!!!
I dunno what's up with my weight, might be retention, might be that frozen yogurt, even greek isn't good on a low carb diet??? argh!.... I only ate 100cals worth...nonfat and everything ....grr... oh well. My interview thing, well I guess they won't need anyone for at least a month which doesn't help me at all. I need to drink more water, I don't drink our tap water, it's terrible (too much iron and maganese I think, smells and tastes bad) and so it'd be great if I didn't let my bottled water freeze on the porch. Anywho, have a good day everyone!
Weighed in today at 157.2!! That's 1.8lbs in a week which I'm super happy with as that puts me below my pre-Christmas weight of 158.2 and means I'm firmly into the 150s.
If any of you are in the 150s and would like to join a support thread for those around the same weight, I just started one today called 'Getting out of the 150s - all ages and diets welcome' if you want to join me!!
