Yikes! I've been AWOL for over a month. Sorry ladies. I hope you don't mind if I rejoin.
My excuse: I moved across the country (by car), got a new apartment, started a new job, and everything else just sort of slipped out of the picture. It's a lame excuse. Unfortunately I also started eating whatever I wanted and stopped doing my Jillian DVD... though I did manage to keep up running a few times a week. I figured I gained some of the weight back but didn't realize how much until I finally went out and bought a scale last night (the old scale didn't move with me) and UH OH - I'm nearly back to where I started. From 161 to 169 in a month. Ugh. What a shame. Anyway, now that I have a little routine back in my life, however, I am ready to get right back at it. I hope you'll excuse the absence and not mind if I jump back into this challenge - I could use it! I'm revising my goal weight to 157.
So I reached a mini-goal recently of 50 pounds down, and announced it to my friends and family on facebook. My cousin wanted pics, and since I have them, I thought I would share here too (o:
Teacher & Fiyah, great jobs. Fiyah, you better start thinking about what you want for your next reward. I see it coming up soon. Congrats to you both on hitting a milestone.
Roncy, we've missed you & are glad to have you rejoin us. It's called life & it happens. Moving accross the country in a car would make it impossible to keep up good eating habits, let alone get any type of exercise. Now that things are settling down you'll get back to it.
I had my WI today & am down from last weeks preTOM weight, but not back down to where I was the week before. We're going to visit hubby's dad this weekend & I'm hoping that I can manage to stay somewhat OP eating as I know I won't be getting my exercise. But FIL's wife is a great cook, but it's all southern style & not the best for weightloss, so it will be a challenge.
Fiyah Huzzah! Congrats! The difference can be clearly seen Way to go!
You reminded me that I took some pics to show to my boyfriend, too I couldn't find the same top I was wearing in the first set, but this is the same material and similar style. First two are at around the start of the diet, and the last 3 were taken on reaching my first goal.
Had an awful day at the morning school yesterday, leaving absolutely stressed out and on the verge of crying. Ended up falling on my habits of eating food for comfort, though it wasn't much. Just a banana (at a time of the day I am not supposed to eat them), although I had to fight my impulses of getting a big, strong coffee. When I was getting to my evening job, I was quite upset again, and I actually got the impulse of buying something sweet, but I didn't :3 I thankfully felt much better teaching my adult students, so I was fine by the time I got home.
Still, after fatty Tuesday and yesterday (and feeling bloated since Tuesday), I have managed not to put on weight and be 99 kilos exactly I haven't been able to do much exercise, but I have been trying to move a bit, and do some exercises with my pilates ball.
Kim, it will probably be mid August before I reach my next goal, and I already know what I want for my reward... a plane trip to pick up a new puppy. I can't wait to fit into the tiny airline seat... lol... and NOT need a seatbelt extender. Good luck while you are visiting your in-laws. Being away from your routines is always difficult, but you CAN do it (o:
Teacher2b, all of my teacher friends who are dieting are talking about how hard it is and how busy they are right now. Just remember the end is near and you will soon have a nice summer break! Just hang in there (o:
Dcapulet, sometimes we all have a stall then a woosh of loss, great job staying positive!
Crazygurl61, heading back in the right direction... keep up the good work! I can see your goal within your grasp!
Well, with less than a week to go before my doc transitions me over to another maintenance period, I don't think I will make my goal (it was just a tad ambitious ). However, I am still happy with the loss and am now hoping to reach 265 which would be 23 lbs down.
I hit the thrift stores this week, and picked up a few staples since I was beginning to swim in some of my bigger clothes. I was shocked! A couple of the tops are 1X... jeans as low as 24. I am just so excited that this isn't a fluke and it is continuing to work for me. I worked out some long range goals, and I hope to hit 150 lbs by Thanksgiving 2013. We are having a family reunion at my cousin's place in HI, and I really want to WOW everyone!
Ok Sandy! I am new and so scared that I won't stick with it, but I believe it's will help. thank you. My current weight is 245, and I would love to be 175 by July 4th. So here goes...( squeezing my eyes shut) I believe I can. Anyone want to help me break down my numbers?

Fiyah Alas, not yet! I am in the Southern hemisphere, which means that it's still several months for classes to finish
9/4: 105.1 kilos
17/4: 104.8 kilos
23/4:103.1 kilos
1/5: 102.5 kilos
6/5: 101.8 kilos
TOM 11/5: 100.5kilos
TOM 12/5: 100.7 kilos
TOM 13/5: 100.5 kilos
TOM 16/5: 100.1 kilos
22/5: 99.3 kilos
29/5: 98.4 kilos.
Got in a proper two digits number before my boyfriend's birthday (today!), and that makes me happy. Also, only 2.4 kilos until goal for this challenge (96 kilos). That's totally doable! (I need to do more exercise, though, as that is my weak point).
Teacher, it's great that you didn't give into temptation. I can see quite a difference in your pictures.
Mrs. C, your numbers make me so jealous. You've got to be working your butt off! Literally. LOL
Crazygurl, glad to see the scale continuing to move in the right direction. Those are some pretty big numbers for your size. You're obviously working hard as well.
Ashori, wow, so close to your goal. Keep it up chickie!
Fiyah, you already know I think you're a rock star! Even if it's August, I know you'll get there. I'm so amazed at how far you've come. Thank you for continuing to post & share your success & journey with us!
Amatielle, Welcome. Not to be discouraging, but I think your goal is way too much for such a short amount of time. There's only 5 weeks until the 4th of July & you want to lose 70 pounds by then. I really don't think that's possible. I'd be glad to help you with whatever you need, but maybe shoot for about 1-2 pounds a week as your goal. That's what they say you should lose at the most safely. Of course, the first week or two you will probably see your best numbers.
As for me, WI tomorrow & I'm dreading it. My get away to visit the In-laws made it impossible for me to get any exercise. It was way too hot to even go for a walk, even at night. And my eating was totally off plan. But I'm back home & back to work!

You are setting a goal of 70 pounds in 5 weeks? 14 pounds/wk? 2 pounds/day? That sounds incredibly unhealthy. Why not set yourself up to succeed and set a goal of say 10 pounds by then? That would be a healthy 2 pounds per week. If you set your goal too high there is a chance, a very good chance, that you will see yourself not achieving it and give up all together. Let us know what you think and we will do our best to support you.
