  • 18lbs in 27 days some how I don't think that is doable. What do you ladies think? Although I don't think I will make my goal I'm going to see just how close to it I can get.

    P.S. I started at 286.6 i currently weigh 268.4 and my goal is 250.
  • I'm stuck at the 220's for another week - it has been about a month now!

I need anything - words of encouragement, advice, a kick in the butt - anything!!
  • Down one more lb. Not good. I do great during the day while I'm at work, but I get on the computer to do my grad work and just start nibbling everything in site. Plus we've had a lot of cuts at work (elementary school) and everyone is on edge worried that more cuts are coming. My stress level is crazy because I don't know where I'll be next year or if I'll even have a job! So of course I eat to feel better. Any suggestions to curb cravings? And as for workouts they are basically nonexistent due to migraines (again from stress). I do walk at least 10,000 steps a day, which is keeping my weight in check but isn't enough to help me drop lbs. I'm hoping once the school year is over and everything is settled maybe the headaches will calm down enough to get back into the workout groove.
  • kandd416 Thanks

I have been a bit bad this week >.> Let's see the damage on Tuesday! (also, TOM is here, so I am probably not going to be any thinner).

Hopefully this week I will be able to go to the gym T_T (I was going to go on Saturday, as I hadn't been able to go in all week, but I had to to an unplanned trip to the city to recover my credit card, which I had forgotten on a shop the day before, grrrrr).

  • OMG!!! I'm down 20lbs since we started this challenge and 37.6 since I started working on getting healthier.
  • Bethann, a pound lost is a pound closer to your goal & a pound less than you were when you started this challenge. Keep that in mind.

Meka, congrats on the 20! You've been working your butt off (literally, lol!). You may not make your goalby the 4th, but you've done great & you will hit it eventually.

Teacher2B, I hear you on the darn TOM, it's coming up & I can so feel that I'm retaining water. I was up almost 2 pounds from yesterday & where I've been all weekend. But I know I've been pretty much on plan & when the water goes it may take a pound or two with it. Woohoo!

crazygurl, your WI bounce all over the place like mine, but I can see the downward trend. Don't get discouraged, you're doing it!

Mrs. C., keep it up, you're doing great, no kick required in my opinion.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Kim
  • Another pound down....yeah! Been working on not eating after 8 pm. I'm a compulsive night-eater. It's only been 2 nights, but that's made the difference and finally allowed me to lose a lb. Down to 183. Hoping for 8-10 more by July 4th.
  • Huzzah! I managed to lose weight, somehow

Bethan I am taking carrot sticks to school to nibble during breaks, plus drinking lots of water. Everybody laughs at the sight of my huge self eating them, but then they admit they should eat better :P

kandd416 Everything has some sort of advantage
  • Teacher: Great job... and with TOM?!? that deserves a couple of extra HUZZAH's (o: Hip hip huzzah, hip hip huzzah!

Bethann: We all start with day 1... heck sometimes I think every day is day 1... lol. I think that it is great that you are getting to the point that you can objectively identify your weaknesses, make plans on how to avoid them, and most importantly implement said plans! Keep up the good work!

    Meka: That is awesome!

Crazygurl: I hate those up weigh-ins, but overall you are going down. Stick with your program cause it seems to be working for you!

Dcapulet: Every day, make a plan for how you are going to stick to your program after you wake up in the morning. Be realistic. Give yourself some leeway. And jump into it with both feet! You CAN do this!

Miatutu: Understand that, I know I have tied a knot in the end of my rope more than a few times in my life. Hoping you were able to hang in there and get resupplied yesterday (o:

CountryBarbie: Welcome back. I hate it when life hits below the belt. You sound like me when it comes to accountability; the sooner I stand up and take accountability, the sooner I can start to straighten out my latest mess. The longer I wait, the bigger mess I tend to make of things. Take a deep breath, make a plan, and start again. There is no time like the present (o:

Kandd: 2.2 looks like you have found a good groove, so keep it up! Thanks for always being there to encourage others. It really does tell a lot about your spirit!

As for me, I am down some, but not quite where I need to be. It took a LOT longer to see my weight start to head back down than I expected. It is on its way though, so by next week, I plan to be back in my maintenance range of 266.5-270.5.

Here's to everyone having an awesome week!

  • Fiyah Thanks!

Yay for being about to reach maintenance!

I was back in the gym today and I felt so great! (despite me losing my balance on my exercise ball and hitting my head & back of my neck against a window, followed by my ribs against the steps used for aerobics, ouchie ).

Feeling very happy that I can notice hipbones when I touch them (and they are very prominent when I lie down :3). Next week I will be starting a beauty treatment to get rid of some localized fat, cellulite and tone a bit :3

Also, I now have a big goal! I bought a pretty bikini on sale today
  • When I started this challenge i was just two weeks into this journey I never thought I would have lost this much. Thank you ladies for the continued motivation and inspiration.

  • Meka... You have really found your stride! With 3 weeks left, you have a great chance of making your goal, and if you don't quite make it you have sooo much to be proud of!

Teacher... A BIKINI!?! That is awesome! Enjoy!

Hubby did my weekly measurements yesterday morning, and because I am in maintenance, I was not expecting any drastic changes. However I went down at every measurement; almost an inch off my hips and another off my waist!

So I was getting dressed to go out frisbee golfing, and decided to give a pair of jeans a try... a pair I picked up at the thrift store that were just a little too small for me then, but were too good of a deal to pass up knowing just how quickly I have been going down. THEY FIT! Tightly, but they buttoned and zipped without much difficulty at all... and they are a size 22! I started at size 32, AND THESE WERE 22'S!!!!

I was so excited, I decided to try on the white jeans I wore to my wedding reception in 1993... after all they are size 22 also. The good news is that I was able to get them over my hips... lol. The bad news is that they didn't have a snowball's chance of buttoning and zipping. Oh well, not yet, but still it's getting closer!

Have a great on program week ladies, only three weeks left to go!

  • Fiyah Thanks I haven't wore a bikini since I was 14. I won't be able to wear it for some months yet (winter is just starting here), but it gives me enough time to get toned

Congrats on fitting on your jeans! The feeling you get when that happens is awesome

    Meka you have done great!

    4/6: 98 kilos
    11/6: 97.6 kilos (TOM)
    20/6: 97.3 kilos

My weigh in was later this week because my scale was rebellious and didn't want to work in my usual spot So today I tried changing it and it worked (not sure if it does much of a difference, but meh). Got some water weight on this week, as I ate more salt than I should for 2 or 3 days (well, rather, I ate too much salt, as I must eat 0), and I am just starting to get rid of it. Also ate more protein than I should (low fat cheese instead of fruit/veggies for snacks). On the plus side, I am back to the gym, so calories will be burnt!

I only need to lose 3 pounds. It's doable!
  • Wow, I've been gone for a while & you ladies are just shrinking away.

Glad to see everyone's continuing on the downward trend. I'm still losing, slowly, but I'm at the point now where I really realize that I'm not "dieting", I'm changing my lifestyle & the weight is not going to just fly off. I'm ok with that. Finally. As long as each month that scale is a little lower than it was the month before I'm good.

My weight seems to fluctuate so much day to day, especially in this heat we've been having, that I even my weekly weigh ins aren't telling the story all the time until you link a few weeks together.

    4/11/12 182.6
    4/18/12 179.6 3
    4/25/12 181.2 1.4
    5/2/12 178.2 4.4
    5/9/12 177.2 5.4
    5/16/12 177.8 4.8
    5/23/12 177.4 5.2
    5/30/12 177.6 5
    6/6/12 175.4 7.2
    6/13/12 176.6 6
    6/20/12 175.2 7.4

So in the 10 weeks I've been in this challenge I've lost almost 7.5 pounds. Not too shabby. I may not hit my goal of 170 by the 4th of July, but I will get there. And keep going after that.

Fiyah, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of you in those white jeans before too long. You'll get there chickie. You've come so far.

Teacher, ditto with that bikini. You're going to rock it. You have been so dedicated & have worked so hard.

Meka, you've also been an inspiration to us here as well. Keep it up & you will get to that 250. Maybe not by the 4th, but I know you'll get there.

have a great OP day everyone.
    Kim
