sun and ItsMyTurn - Thank you! ItsMyTurn, how are things going for you this month so far? sun, glad you have the place to yourself again! Houseguests can be stressful.
JazzyPeggy - Glad the scale is moving back down for you! I hope it continues.
Chickadee - Things are going ok. I have been able to bring my 194 down to 192... still a cry away from the 188 I was before though and just need to finish tweaking and I should be golden Had birthday party for my DD with the medical issues this past weekend, and actually got a pic of me and my youngest taken at 3am after my ego wouldn't allow me to turn down the challenge to get in the pool, I will post So a long ways away from goal yet, but not hiding from cameras anymore... I say that's a victory in itself
Tuesday weigh-in for me! Down another 2, which I am really overjoyed about! I was away and off my routine all weekend, and had 2 dinners out at restaurants. So I was afraid this morning. But I am so happy with the way the week turned out, and I feel like I am already getting beyond that, I don't stop eating until I feel sick problem. It's amazing how fast you really can start to shed old habits.
Starting: 242

I so agree!! We go to the beach each summer.. and if I have to buy a slightly smaller size suit and feeling just a little less self conscious this summer that will be a huge win!

I read a lot about it a few years ago, as it is also beneficial for thyroid issues... I tried it for a bit, but the extra calories I was consuming I didn't see any weightloss.. and it was hard to make up those calories, since the coconut wasn't filling.. so I will wanted the same amount of food on top of the extra calories from the coconut. Hope that made sense. So I stopped. I am sure there are ways to do it better than I did and it is supposed to be beneficial for many things.
chickadee32 That dress looks so much more gorgeous on you than on the model. Truly beautiful!
ItsMyTurn! That is awesome, I would definitely classify that as a huge NSV!! Good work!
DaugT-so happy for you! I know when I am out with family and they all want to go out to eat I panic thinking "oh no, what can I order at this place that will not completely throw me off track?!" Also, like you said...the problem with don't stop eating until your sick thing...I have been getting over that as well.
Hi all! I've been on vacation and I came back to a weight loss, yay! I skipped snacks, reduced my breakfast size (which we ate in the room using food from home), left food on my plate lots of times, and brought half of my entree back to the room lots of times (yay for hotel room fridges).
So, today's the first day of March that my weight is below 76.4 kgs -- 1 of the 14 days that are my goal.

chickadee. I finally got to see your pic - yowza! You look beautiful. You're going to turn heads wherever you decide to wear it.
I've not been doing so well the past week or so, letting the stress of work derail me a bit, but the weather is making me look forward to spring and doing things outside again. My goal for March was pretty modest and I've still got a couple of weeks, so I'm not giving up yet!
Itsmyturn what a sweet pic of you and ur daughter! What disability does your daughter have?my daughter has cerebral palsy. It can get stressful and hard to control emotional eating. Keep going!
Daugt way to go on those 2 lbs. What a nice loss to see in a weeks time.
Gardnerjoy way to go on getting back on the horse!
Steph7409 ugh I have not been doing well either. You can do it!
So I have not been doing well. Today was a too much day. Looking to get back on the horse tomorrow. DD has coup and its been non stop nebulizer treatments and trying to help her feel better. Which means no gym and I don't think I can go tomorrow either as she is watched in the gym kidcare and she will probably be contagious.
Oh well I can drink tons of water and get back to eating well. Will check in tomorrow
ItsMyTurn: You're moving down, which is awesome. The rest will come and then you'll cruise right past 188. And you look fantastic!!! I always used to tilt my face up toward the camera so that my double chin couldn't be seen as well... it was such a good feeling when I was able to stop doing that, so I know exactly what you mean about that victory. Congratulations!!
Daug: Thank you, and congrats on another 2 lbs!! You're really on a roll! And it's great that you feel like you've made such progress on your habits; "they" say it only takes 3-4 weeks to change habits and develop new ones, and it really does seem to be true. It's amazing how differently we can do things if we really make a conscious effort.
gardenerjoy: Awesome job losing while on vacation!! That's a really tough thing to do!
Steph: Thank you. And I'm sorry work is so stressful... with the weather warming up, are you able to get outside at all during the day and walk or anything? Not for the exercise specifically, but just to be able to take a break and refresh and de-stress a bit? Anyway, you definitely still have time this month, and continuing to fight when and where you can is what really counts.
sun: Thanks! And with being stuck at home... do you ever do any body weight exercises? I started doing them at home in part because there were nights during the winter when it was cold cold cold and I just didn't want to leave the warm house to go to the gym, but I've really seen benefits from them. Things like pushups, squats, lunges, etc. They're great to do in 10 minute sets and just squeeze them into your day here and there!
CaliforniaDreamer: Woohoo!! I'll be watching for the post that says you've made your goal this month!!!
So I think I might have figured out a part of why I was stuck in the low 150s and holding on to so much water weight for sooo long... I think it has something to do with a particular food I was eating. I had read about Fiber Gourmet products on this forum before, and finally got around to trying them in late Jan/early Feb. The key ingredient is a resistant starch that is indigestible and so functions just like insoluable fiber, which lowers both the calories and the carbs in the products. I bought some pasta and crackers and really liked both - the pasta tastes just like regular white pasta, but has 18g fiber and only 130 cal per serving. Awesome, right? Well, I was eating it regularly and making sure to keep my water intake high to account for all that extra fiber, but I began to suspect a few weeks ago that it might be the cause of at least part of my water retention. There was no good way to test it out at the time, but I stopped eating it and within 5 days or so my weight began to drop (and I finally hit my goal). I was down to 144.8 lbs on Sunday after seeing some consistent drops, so I decided to experiment... I didn't do anything else that varied from my usual food/exercise routine, but I ate some of the crackers very late on Sunday night. Early Monday morning my weight was still 144.8, but by Monday after work I was up 3 POUNDS even though I'd eaten very lightly since getting up that morning (<600 calories). My weight is sometimes up late at night, but not usually that early, or by that much unless I've had a few big meals. This morning I was still at the same number, and by this evening the scale was down a pound. I suspect it will take another few days for the extra 2 lbs to come off. Anyway, it's not conclusive, but I think it's pretty decent evidence that my body reacts funny to that particular food. It seems like a reasonable explanation, at least!
Chickadee - That sounds VERY reasonable! Mine does that with diet soda. The artificial sweetener, for some reason, holds onto anything else I put in my system. Seems those crackers may be your "diet soda" equivalent. Isn't it a great feeling when you figure things out though?!? Have a super Wednesday!!!!
Well, I blew it this past week.. have had some stressfull days and resorted to food in those times. I have no loss this week.. still at 164. I've gotta kick some butt this week to keep on track!
With an assist from my brother's hot tub, I hit a new low -- my first since January 4! So day 2 of 14 under 76.4 kgs for March.
chickadee32: great detective work, there!
ItsMyTurn: I went off of diet soda during my vacation. Hmm. I wonder if that is a further factor for my recent weight loss. I eliminated diet soda once before and thought it was easier to lose weight, but then managed to lose most of my weight while still drinking it. I'm going off now out of fear for the phosphorous leaching my bones, but if I get a bonus of weight loss, I won't turn it down!
4 miles on the trail with the hubby today...very nice day for it but did get a little too much sun...still loved it! Feeling a little apprehensive about getting on the scale at the end of the week, afraid it will throw me off track if I don't like the numbers but trying to think positively.
