Welcome aboard, diyana!

Kendrab, my only advice is to schedule your exercise, like you would work or class. If you just try to "fit it in", it will be easy to avoid. At least that's how it is for me. I admire you a lot for sucking it up and committing to McD's. (And good for thinking ahead and planning to avoid eating there.) Hopefully, something else will come along, but in the mean time, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.

dcapulet, your yoga sessions yesterday sound great! I saw a clip of it on the news - looked like fun.

I never heard of a Burpee before either. Those look tough. I can do a few push-ups, but not many and not great form. Thanks for that link, pokey. I love all of these programs that are geared toward getting you to progress from a slug to an athlete. I would love for my ultimate goal to be "become athletic", rather than "weigh 130 lbs". But, even when I lose all this weight, I'll still be pretty uncoordinated, so I don't think there's much hope of that.

The one thing I can't do that frustrates me to no end is the elliptical machine. I can last on the treadmill and bike just about forever, but I go maybe 2 mins on the elliptical and my legs start screaming. I first wanted to use that machine because I thought it might provide a better (butt-er) workout. Now I just want to slay that damn thing! Any advice?

eta: Hey Reso, just want you to know that you've been the bug in my ear at the gym lately. As I'm getting ready to stop at the 30 or 45 min mark, I've been thinking, "Reso puts this mileage in before breakfast! Keep going!!" So, thanks for that.

Happy Morning and Hump day to all!

4 mile run, plus 1 mile walk. Done!

Burpees are amazingly torturous! Good job to the ones getting them done. They will definitely kick your butt-er quickly.

Kendra-I agree with RMC. You have to schedule your workout in. Just like you schedule other activities. It's a priority and you just continue to treat it as that. If that means getting up early, or changing into workout gear right after work so you don't talk yourself out of it. I write my workout right into my planner. I usually tell people what I'm going to do too--so then I have to do it or face saying I wimped out.

GOOD AFTERNOON PLATOON!!!!

Due to a meeting I wasn't able to get my butt-er up to the office gym on lunch. Grrrr! I'll have to make up for that this evening in exercise somehow. If someone is home to watch Brenna I will take Ringo out for a walk. If not, Brenna and I can walk with Leslie Sansone again. And...pushups!!!!

Pokey - I did Week 1 Day 1 of your 100 pushup website last night. Had to do them girly style though. I REALLY want to do "real" push ups but I'll make do with girly style until I get to that point. I certainly keep trying though! One day, I will succeed and do push ups for real!!!!

kneed2lose - CONGRATS!!!! That last time I went to NYC was in 1994 so I have no recommendations but it was a fun trip! Enjoy yourself!

Kneed--New York!! When I hit a new city, and I've done this in NY, I always take one of those double-decker bus tours that allow you to hop and and hop off as many times as you like all day long. That way you get to see max stuff. Maybe try Hot Tix for last minute cut rate tickets to Broadway show! You'll walk A LOT! Don't be too afraid of the train system. It's actually ok. HAVE FUN! AND 180'S --- HERE COMES KNEED!!!!

Sarge just finished 10.71 machine miles (1118 cal. burn)... FEELING GOOD!! BRING ON THE REST OF THE WEEK!

GET OUT THERE AND BURN BUTT-ER!

Welcome Diyana!!!

Sarge- please remind me alllllll the time how much crap is in that nasty food. I'm going to smell like it. ugh. thankfully this is only a part time job!

rmc and cheshire- I'll definitely make sure I schedule it in. Right now I have such a system Another kicker to the mc d's job- overnights (which I have never done before but want to try since it would work best around son's school activities/family time/etc). I'm hoping to keep my schedule of waking up and starting my hour of exercise within 30 min of waking up but we'll see.

Kendrab--A picture worth a thousand words. McD's food =

Think about that and put a smile on your face as you basically pass a bag of fat to customers. It'd make my day whiz by!

Special Shout Out---As the platoon has grown larger and larger I just want to recognize the members who have been melting butt-er since Day 1 of Sarge's Boot Camp (3/3/11)...thru thick and thin...stand up and take a bow: MADAMGOOEY, RESO (aka Resolute), CHESHIRE, & PEANUTT! Many have fallen by the wayside, but these members are the backbone of the platoon and deserve to be recognized for the inspiration that they are!

OK, back to work!

peanutt = OMG! you met Felisa Day YOU LUCKY lol I love her and have yet to see her at a commicon, love love love The Guild. Have you ever seen it? She came up with the concept, directs it and is lead charater in it. A short series of skits poking fun of us WoW and other MMMgamers lol. Heres a link to a skit song the cast did ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU

Jeanettey and Sarge = Well blow me down. If I aint a real human... being. Count me in for Popeye photo (face in attachment). I yam what I yam LOL
Also I did check out the BL challange boards and will def ask to participate in the next round, Thanks Sarge.

kneed2lose = Congrats on the NYC tickets and the warrior march looks awsome!

Kendrab1223 = I do my stretches in between the kids going to school. (Trev my 16 year old gets himself up and ready but has to be given his meds for ADHD at 6:15am than I do stretches till I have to wake Cory my 15year old fosterkiddo at 7:00 for his specialized school an meds. We all go to gym before dinner and I do my 10 min Pilates after the animals go to bed. I squeez in targeted movments during the day...if Im standing long I do ballette leg lifts/ sitting long I do Kegals (hay, thats a muscel too lol)/ always keep good posture and thats a work out in itself all day long/ and we try an fit kayaking or Mnt biking in every weekend. Its easyer and a way to bond if the kids are involved.

Diyana = Im also a new recruit and will be loosing 100lbs, welcome to the good fight

speaking of weight .., I started the week at 223 and pledged 2lbs.
gained 1 yesterday lost 1 today so Im at square 1 . I was hoping with all the throwing up and drenching in sweat that I'd loose like 10lbs baahahaha, no such luck.

I cant wait till I can peel myself outta this sweaty bed and do my Px90 streches and Pilates again. Also looked up the C25k the platoon talks about and will be trying out running (trying to run lol) which is kinda huge for me sence I would allways say "I'll run when something big and hairy is chasing me and not a moment sooner"

Kendrab = stepping up to take a bullet for your home core... deserves honourable mention for sure. "Pulling up your big girl panties" (my fav saying as well) is what this platoon seems to be all about ...this may help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-ljW5YEdao

Just had a very pleasant surprise on the scale. Last time I weighed myself (about a month ago), I was 245...then lately I kept feeling "fatter" and "fatter", so I figured I had to be around 250 by now. I just weighed myself, and I'm 238.6! I am so thrilled! I still pledge to lose 1 lb by Sunday!

I had terrible headache all day yesterday but figured no excuses, I am going to do W6D2 at night. Yeah, that didn't go so well. I gave up after 7 minutes or so. But I will try again tonight!!! I have 6 miles to deliver until Sunday.

Welcome to all the Newbies (newer-than-me-Newbies that is).

I am amazed by this group! I can hardly keep up with reading the posts.

Josey--Yup! Your newly improved logo of "Suck it up, BUTT-er cup" is indeed what this group is about! Sarge is just really keeping his fingers crossed that with all the increased chatter that pounds are still being melted away. We shall see what the scales bring on Sunday!
