Good morning everyone.

MsP: Is the baby alright? I don't have kids, so my pets are IT. Sorry to hear it and hope everything is okay.

Taurie: The talk was great last night, thanks. I got to tell farmers and potential farmers about our combined CSA, so hopefully we'll have more producers. ITALY! I love Italy. My saving grace is that we walk everywhere. Walk walk walk eight hours a day. Any chance of that? If not, I don't know how you would do it without gaining weight. But even a salad tastes better when you're in Italy, so you'll be fine. If nothing else, it will be like Amsterdam, where you'll be up a few pounds and it will come right back off when you get back to your routine. Have a great time and don't worry!

Rashomon: you sound like me. Sometimes I just gotta step on that scale again and see if it changed it's mind while I wasn't looking. You are on your way; good goin'!

aluxa: what is your body telling you it's missing with these cravings? Were you eating enough protein and fat when the peanut butter cravings hit? How's your appetite today? Somewhere on here I read that your metabolism is fine if you wake up hungry. If you're not, maybe you need to spike your calories to wake it up.

Dixiemae: Congratulations! Wish I could say I'm right behind you...

eclipse:
So glad to hear your back is improving. Hopefully you'll be good as new soon, and can get back to exercising carefully. I think I might be having to buy new skivvies soon too! I will be happy to be buying a size that isn't predominated by big white bloomers--I always wonder why they don't think fat chicks want to wear black underwear. Why is everything in white? I think that just contributes to the depression and lack of self confidence that comes with being overweight. It's all the fault of the panty producers. lol.

chubbybikinidreamer:
500 calories? That sounds like torture to me. It would make me fail by not being sustainable. Is the HcG hormone supposed to make you not hungry? I think 1200 calories is pushing the limit for me--good luck and don't add to the torture by having chips whispering to you from the cabinet!

krystalb: Way to keep it going down, girlie!

SG: Glad to see you back more often! This is my favorite day of the year--Seafest, when the oyster shuckers come in from both coasts for the oyster and stout festival at the brewery this weekend. The Maine-iacs bring lobsters and the West Coasters bring mussels, clams and oysters and we have a feast for about 30 on the Wednesday before. It would certainly not be on any diet plan...oh well! I guess I'll be working out all day in preparation, because I am trying everything. TRYING, not scarfing, that's the key...

I'm at 190 even today, and am having serious doubts about reaching my goal of 183 in two weeks. I'm ready to be in the 180s, which I haven't seen since my wedding 11 years ago. Makes me think of the bad joke: What's the difference between a girlfriend and a wife? 40 pounds. What's the difference between a boyfriend and a husband? 40 minutes. Ahem.

On that note, have a great day!

Still not weighing officially, but unofficially I think I'm back down to a much more reasonable number. Day 3 of detox has started well. I'm going to Wal-mart to buy a new calorie counter book. Mine has been misplaced and I'm moving back toward more and more accountability for my calories and NEED to know my calorie counts! I know a lot of people do it online, but I need it in hard copy so I can look at it anytime. That's just how I function.
Bella, my dog, is improving. They're going to let us take her home this afternoon. She's still not 100%...they think that may take a week or so, but at least she's walking a little again. So, hopefully that means no permanent (brain) damage was done when she was in the worst of the illness. As far as her care now, it's stuff we can do at home...oral meds, extra TLC for bathroom stuff, food, etc. Thanks for all the concern. It was horrible when we didn't know if she was going to be okay. She already got us by the heartstrings!

SG-Yep, I'm SO glad we can bring my pup home. They said they could keep her another day if I wanted, but it wasn't necessary and I said, "No thanks, then! I want her home." I did find myself trying to tell her it would be okay. I was probably just saying it to myself as much as to her! Congrats on fitting into other 14's and even a 12! WTG!!!

Taurie-I try to tell myself to eat S-L-O-W-L-Y and take small bites in those situations so it looks like I'm eating as much as everyone, but in fact I'm taking in less than half what they are. It's MUCH easier said than done, though. I speak from lots of experience. I've done it wrong plenty! LOL Just enjoy the trip! I'm SO jealous!

LouisaH-How'd seafood fest treat ya? Glad it all went well! LOVE the joke, btw!! Hilarious!!!

chubbybikinidreamer-(You will henceforth be dubbed CBD by me for time's sake.) How'd it go with the chips? I agree it would be best to get rid of the chips unless you have family members that live with you whom you can feed them to, but get them out of the house (and not through your digestive system)!! Hope the diet works. It sounds super restrictive!

eclipse-To bring back an old phrase we used to love here on the monthly thread....WOO HOO on the panties!!!!!! That's incredible! I bet it felt great to get some smaller ones that fit properly.

Tummy-Sorry for being a bad influence! I have SO many challenges coming up this next week or 2 with several birthday meals or dates or parties. I just keep trying to mentally rehearse how I SHOULD handle things. I gotta keep my mind right! It's just food, for crying out loud!!!

Congrats to all who are seeing scale victories!!

Sorry if I missed anyone. I'm trying to get the house all picked up before we pick up my precious pooch from the hospital since I think she'll take up a lot of my time at first when she's home. Have a healthy day, ladies!
We CAN do this!!!!

Shrinking Girl: you may be right. I have not thought about it in that way. Anyway, I will never forget the first time that I tasted peanut butter. I was 10 years old and I thought why people are so crazy about this sticky thing. Now, I’ cannot understand by I’m craving it but that may be the answer to my previous question LOL.

Taurie: Last time that I was in Italy I lost 17 pounds and I was eating a lot. If you are going to the South, you should go to see Noto.

Luisa H: Is it possible that we may crave something because our bodies need some of its nutrients? I think so, and that is why I bought it a few days ago. I ate a little amount of it because it is high in calories but the next day I crave it again and I ate it a little again. The craving hopefully has disappeared for now. I should be honest that I’m not following a depriving diet. I’m looking my portions and I’m not eating white flour stuff or white rice, but I eat proteins and good fats. I had never eaten breakfast before, but since I’m on plan I need it. I wake up hungry while all my life I wasn’t hungry until noon, and according to what you say it is a good signal

Default Hey...

Ms Perception- You're detoxing huh? Yeah those are interesting. You need every thing in writing? Sounds kinda like me... my textbooks need to be solid, not e-book or I can't take it in properly.... is it the same for you as far as reading things on comp vs print? Anyone else?

I hope your dog is ok, it's sad when pets go through these things...

LouisaH- I know you're not happy about the number but 190 is still great! for you! That's a funny joke, never heard it before... certainly hope it's not true!

eclipse- woohoo for the panties!!

Default ok so...

I'm 5lbs short of the first goal for this month... yet again. I have 2 more goals, so we'll see. I'm in today at 230, wanna see under that before I change anything on my chart or board.

Right now I'm having my TOM... it was a lil late, and so far doesn't seem to have affected my weight... hopefully I'll see a loss after it's over... do you think people lose water weight now or after it's over? I didn't pay this close attention to it before this diet program...so... I just dunno.

Anyway, happy losing all, I'm off to exercise and do homework!

Top of the mornin to ya!!! Yes this diet is crazy, and all kinds of restrictions, you binge for 2 days then eat only 500 cals per day. Its not so fun. The hormone os supposed to release 3000 cals into your system that sustains hunger. IDK about that yet. I threw a bunch of crap outta the junk food cupboard... those chips are pretty fierce!! But I have kids at home and a Hubby that tend to munch..hmm maybe a lock on it LOL.

eclipse- awesome job on thge panties that is great!! I know the feeling when that happens and damn it feels great to know ya walked outta your panties.
LouisaH ya I am not sur eif it will work, but the across street neighbor lost 15 lbs in about 3.5 weeks. I just dont think that I can stick to only 500 calories but yesterday went smoothly.

Mrs. PI took everyones advice and threws out everything that was whispering to me to sin on my diet... except for the tortilla chips and the small lunch box chips the 7 year old grabs to play outside and snack...

Hoping all have a great St. Paddy's day - corned beef been cooking since 7 this mornin yum!!!!

ms p - so glad you get your doggy back today. That must have been so hard on you.

cbd - good for you for the great pantry cleanout! You might find there are some healthier substitutes for the kids and hubby's snacks and they will barely notice the difference. Keep us posted!

nightangels - All I've been able to tell from reading lots of posts is that people's cycles are definitely related to weight loss patterns but no one seems to have the same pattern. Some lose during, some after, etc. Hope you have a whoosh week soon!

louisa - enjoy your seafest!

dixiemae - thanks for the size info - I'm always curious about that kind of stuff! I'm in mainly 10s at the moment but 8s are my goal.

eclipse - so nice to get well fitting undies - and smaller as well!

All is good here - still holding steady at 167. Am planningon a run this afternoon or tomorrow morning, or maybe both if I'm super motivated

Just an apology... I was unaware that the Hcg diet is not allowed here. So to any that I offended or anything else I apologize.

However I have decided that I will just stay doing Atkins and not take the risk on my health... I have kids to raise and a Hubby to enjoy for a very long time....ani I AM still striving for my 5lbs... going to buy a damn scale ( enemy) lol today.

Dancerindenver~isnt it odd how different body types wear different size jeans at the same weight??? My daughter is the same weight as I am she also wears a size 8. Im busting my butt to get to a 12 hopefully when I reach my next weight goal I'll be size 10's again. Time will tell on the 10's. crossing everything I have to reach 10's

NightAngel-Let me be clear this is not a formal detox...just me eating "clean" to get rid of the crap I put in my system over last weekend. I already feel much better and look forward to getting back down to losing actual weight rather than re-losing the same 5 pounds over and over! LOL Yep, I'm the same with books. Can't stand the thought of e-books if there's any way I can have a "real" book.

CBD-No offense here. I just felt bad for you eating so little, even if it was just for a couple days. Stay healthy! Good luck with the scale purchase. I love mine, though I had to get it repaired once, so I won't recommend it to you.

It's great having Bella home, but she is still quite weak and disoriented. I wasn't ready for that. I guess it'll just be a matter of appreciating the progress she makes each day.

LouisaH - Well hopefully they'll jump on board. Does this have to do with farmers market and localisation? Or is this just for feeding your own families? I'm very intrigued. Your joke, the difference between a boyfriend and a husband!

MsP - ah, finally your pooch is back home. I hope it wasn't too traumatic for her. Great advice... I'll chew sloooowwwwlllllyyyyyyy.

Aluxa - I'll be in Puglia, but Noto looks interesting. I just googled it. Maybe a future trip. I just love Italy... would love to travel there for 6 months. sigh, maybe someday.

DancerinDenver - You're doing fantastic and your motivation is contagious!

As for my trip I may be able to go hiking, but I'll be in a rural area and since I'll be working on my thesis I'll be villa bound most of the time. Though, I do plan on going swimming... the beach is near by too. I have to psyche myself on all the fresh produce and make sure I fill up on veg and fruits mostly. I have to visualise myself being good. But, now I need to visualise myself doing homework and actually do it!

Taurie: Noto is the barroco's capital. My father was born there. I know what you mean about traveling for six months. I'm from Aregentina but I'm also an Italian citizen.Anyway Italy has many beautiful places, I'm sure you will enjoy your travel.

PS: I'm also working on my thesis
