  • krystal - what exciting news! Congrats!

aluxa - how are you feeling about the treadmill these days? I go on kicks where I really get in to roller blading, or running, or hiking and then get bored for a while. I think we are all just novelty junkies in a way Hope you've found some good ways to mix it up!

taurie - you're almost there - you can do this!

eclipse - woohoo - you are doing great!

I was a bump on a log yesterday - blech. I'm turning this around though as we're going to have some gorgeous weather and I'll have no excuse not to get out there and exercise. Hope you all are doing well.
  • Hey, guess what? I weighed in at 238 this morning. Do you know what that means? Well, do you?

    I made March goal!!!
  • Dancerindenver: I feel better about it. I have added speed and incline to the program that I was using and it have improved my relationship with it. I have also started to add some resistance training.

    Eclipse:

I’m happy with my progress so far although I’m wondering when my weight loss will become noticeable. I have a lot to loss but I have loss a quarter of the total that I want to loss and I was expecting to notice it at this point. Anyway, I feel 100% better about myself so I do not worry a lot about not noticing it in other ways. I’m 1.8 pounds away from my first mini goal. I think that in 10 pounds I will be able to see a difference. Have diet changes modified your mood? I was grumpier before I started to eat better.
  • Krystal- Congrats! That's awesome. Woohoo! Babies do have that weight side effect for sure, lol.

Eclipse - Congrats on goal. Fan-frickin-tastic!

Britannie - 12lbs, holy cow, that's a small animal worth of weight, WTG. Gorgeous picture btw.

Aluxa - I noticed tons of changes with mood as well, happier, slept better, not as tired and I always feel better when I'm working towards a goal. It gives me purpose and vision and drive. All things that make me happy It took about 30lbs before others noticed and I could really see it. Now 10lbs makes a huge difference. It's not fair or cool at all, but it is the way it is, unfortunately. You're doing great!

Dancer - Lol, ahh yes, log days, those are terrible aren't they? Hopefully you managed to unblech yourself and workout too. I was just there too, working out seems to be the only cure for that, lol.

Taurie - I so hope you get it! One teeny tiny pound! Soo close.

LTBH - That is the question, isn't it? Why ever do we do that. I had a less than stellar eating weekend as well but I'm a masochist and had to weight. I hope Wednesday brings a good number.

Tamara - Is the 209 lower for you? That's getting darn near those 100's too

    Louisa
    - Yup, it sucks and yes Mexico will be awesome and I just might forget how much that other thing sucks. 6 boxes! Honestly, that's nuts, I hope your friend doesn't know you're eating healthier, I call sabotage lol

Well it's nice to see everyone doing well, that's great! My food hasn't been really awesome but my exercise is back on track and that will bring the other part along. Got two more gym sessions, today and tomorrow and then off to Mexico to enjoy my first vacation in my life where I'm not a plus size it's going to be really cool not hiding from pictures. I don't even know what that's like.

School work is totally done and up to date, I'll just have one exam and one assignment for when I get back and they're almost done. A triumph of time management. Then I'll even get a break until May when I will only have one course, oh sweet bliss.

    Have a great monday!
  • krystalb-Oh My Goodness!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy for you! BTW, I found during pregnancy and right after to be one of the easiest times to get my weigth under control (I mean keep the gain to a smaller amount and make sure it was ALL baby), then afterwards, since the metabolism is still up from nursing, I continued to lose consistantly. It's easier when you tell yourself, "I'm eating healthy for the baby."

Tummy-Darn it! Sorry to hear that is still giving you trouble. I've read about it, but never experienced it myself. I'm reading a book on marathon training though mine hasn't started officially yet. I'm just gradually building up miles still. Feel better and do some lifting for me!

eclipse-Nice job! I'll be sure to make you red when I repost the list in a minute here. I bet you feel great!

Brittany-Wow! That's a lot of weight to be down. Stay healthy and good luck with those last few pounds this month!

Taurie-Isn't it lovely when that one pesky pound hangs on? How frustrating, but keep doing the healthy things and it will all work out!

I'm here to finally report the weekend was a lovely success. DD2's bday party was pretty low key with just 4 (well-behaved ) other little people here, it went off wonderfully. I had some cake, but maintained weight. I would rather have lost some so I had more to show for this month, but I've been snacking far too much at night (prior to this weekend) to expect other results. I'm trying to repeat "food is fuel" to myself constantly to remind me to only eat good fuel, not yummy junk. Lord help me!
Well, I'm off to make DD2 her birthday lunch (this is her actual b-day). She's 5! My baby is 5....where does the time go?
  • Hey all! I've been keeping up with everybody here, staying quiet, and I just wanted to let you all know that this morning I weighed in at 190.2 which was one of my March goals!! Yay!

The other part was no fast food breakfasts and while there's still a couple of days left in March, I so far haven't had any!! Thank you all so much, just knowing that this goal was here helped me stay away from the McD's for a whole month. It's my weakness, and I can't remember the last time I stayed away for so long!

Congrats for all your successes, and congrats to krystal for your new addition!! Thanks ladies!
  • Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Krystal Congratulations! I hope you'll come back through your pregnancy and let us all know how you're doing!

Tummy I'm not sure what you mean by is the 209 lower for me??? I was 230 at New Years and on Saturday when I weighed at Herbal Magic I was 209.2. I'll definately make my 209 March goal and then it's off to ONEderland! BTW...You look fantastic and I hope you have a wonderful time in Mexico!

eclipse You Rock Girl! I knew you'd make it!

Ms Perception I'm glad that you didn't gain from your little bit of cake and snacking. I hear you on the where does the time go...my baby is going to graduate high school in June. I can't believe it!

aluxa I have started to feel the difference in my clothes but I don't think anyone that sees me regularly would notice yet even though I've lost 30lbs since New Years...it sucks, but I know that in the next 10-20lbs it will start to be more noticable.

Taurie ONE POUND! ! ! YOU CAN DO IT!

I'm off to weigh in at lunch...hope to see at least a 0.2 drop from Saturday so I can claim my 209!

    Tamara
  • I hit it! I hit 209.0 at today's weigh in. I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed. Yesterday was a really bad day for cravings. I actually had to go and lie down in the afternoon to stop thinking about the "just a little bit of..." that I wanted so badly. I talked to one of the girls at HM today and realized what may have set off such a bad craving after 12 days of virtually NO cravings at all.

I went tanning yesterday afternoon and usually there is a piece of Extra gum on the bed with a towel and stuff. Yesterday it was Juicy Fruit and I think the sugar in that single piece of gum set off a crazy sugar craving! I was fine before that and it set in about 30 minutes after I left the salon. Sounds crazy but other than the first day or two I haven't had cravings for sugar at all.

Anyhow I made my goal! Yeah! And hopefully will be down a little more at Wednesday's weigh in.

    Have a good day ladies!

  • Tummy: I have always had sleeping problems. I have considered myself a night person but since I’m on plan I can go to sleep at night like normal people, something that I was unable to do since I was 2 years old. I’m wondering when I will start to look different but it is not something driving me crazy because I feel better than before, but I’m curious about how many pounds will take to start to notice that. I suppose that after the first 30 pounds the next 10 will be noticeable. with your exam and assignment. I know that your travel will be amazing!

Ms P: in maintaining your weight. It is so difficult to do it with celebrations around.

    Cherbear:
    congrat: for your goal!!!

Tamaraj: I hope that I will be able to see a difference after losing 30 pounds. If I did not noticed when I gained these 21 pounds why should it be different losing them? for the 209.0

I forgot to mention that yesterday I bought me a gift for my first 20 pound lost. It is an art nouveau figurine. I hope that it will give me motivation in the future. I will use it to represent that with effort I can stay in this journey and once at weight goal with effort I will be able to stay at goal (I hope)
  • Sorry I missed your post krystalb. That's fantastic news. Congrats!!
  • Good Evening Ladies,

Tamara - No, I just wasn't sure from your post if 209 was up or down, that's all. congrats on your goal too, that's fantastic! And thank you so much, it's nice to get to enjoy the body now.

Aluxa - It is totally frustrating at first, I remember that first week, I lost like 6 lbs and hoped I would see it, or maybe someone else, lol, it felt like forever and now if I lose 5lbs ppl are all up on me about losing too much. It sure makes a difference.

MsP - Yup, it sucks but so is life right? I'm taking a good long break to let it heal right up, I did run a mile today at the gym but even though it felt fine I'm taking it very slow, again, lol. The lifting is great but holy appetite batman! I want to eat everything when I lift this much.

Cherbear - Congrats on goal! Woohoo.

Holy cow, when did it get to be 1 in the morning! Been up pre-packing, making outfits, digging up all our summer stuff for tomorrow's packing extravaganza. School work is all DONE and handed in, I have one exam and one assignment due a week after we get home so I'm feeling pretty great about managing to get everything done.

We leave at 3am Wednesday morning so I have just tomorrow to finish up the odds and ends, hit the gym and try to get some sleep. So excited, I mean to actually where a bathing suit in public and look good in it, I can't tell you how incredible that is going to be. It will be the first time in my entire life! Well I better head to bed so I can get up early tomorrow and finish up all my stuff.

I'll post some pictures on the blog once we get home.

Have a great end of the month for me and I'll see you all April 8th.
  • Hello...
Ok, so I felt like I was cheating myself out of the 5lbs that I lost when I had to change scales...my old scale was friendlier, and this new digi scale read 5lbs more so I lost another 5lbs to read 250....again.... so, technically I lost those too and my digi scale read 255 in the beginning.... so there it is...I was so mad at the time, and I prefer to start with a rounded number.... but yeah I sorta felt I cheated myself.... stupid scale changes.... that ever happen to any of you? old scale nicer to you than the new? I had a non-digi, an old metal one with the bubbly looking screen you had to get close to to see.

also, I'm now 227, and I fit into these nice black jeans that I threw on top of my bureau a couple weeks ago because I couldn't button them so because that makes 2 pairs I can get into now of the smaller jeans I've been packing away!
  • Tummy-I noticed the time of your post and was wondering what on earth you were still doing up! Hope you got some good sleep, but I'm sure you're excited for your trip and all. Definitely take it easy on the injury. You're getting good workouts with the lifting, so it's not like you're slacking or anything...that's for vacation, right?

We went out and I ate like crazy last night, so I didn't weigh today. I looked back at my "records" and realized....I totally blew it this month! I started out so strong and then fell apart completely. What the heck?! Well, the good news is it's almost April and I'm going to start well AND finish well this time. Time to read some more healthy eating/fitness books...they seem to help keep my mind on track. At least I did meet my goal of tracking my foods this month...as scary as it was! I'm going to try stepping it up a notch for April and do a bit more record keeping so I can identify what works (and what doesn't).
    Good things from March:
    1. I've icreased my running and gotten back into swimming
    2. After my strong start, I didn't have such a crazy on-going appetite
    3. I started tracking most (food) information
    4. I've stocked more healthy foods in the house and been eating more fruits/veggies

So, we won't call March a complete failure....just a leson in some things NOT to do in the future. It's funny, the birthdays this month weren't my issue at all. I wish I could blame them for my stagnant weight, but it's all me and my poor choices throughout the month. Once again, today is day 1 OP and I'm going for that elusive 7 days OP. I do realize it includes Easter and a trip to my parents, but I will allow for that in my weekly calories. The idea is to eat ONLY what I PLAN to eat and stick with reasonable portions and healthy options.
BTW, the April thread is up....don't forget to sign-up!
  • hello ladies sorry I have MIA so much this month so much going on with my life I haven't lost any weight I keep going between 213-215 but I guess with all the stress and not eating POP that isn't too bad. I promise this next month to check in and post more often. After husband head injury and daughter stressful life of husband going to divorce her not going to divorce her I just don't know where I am anymmore LOL... On the good side of things I did join the gym that is just a few blocks from my home and I have been doing well trying to ge ther at least 4 days a week.. Yesterday I did 2 miles of cardio and then 20 min of strength training. With my gym membership they have a personal webpage that I can customize and print out my workout for everyday and then track it when I get home, I do like that feature. Hope you all are doing well!!! Have wonderful day!
