  • Just a quick check in this morning. I hope everyone is have an awesome weekend. It is going by so fast.
I am working on my 7th perfect day in a row! Yay! Ms P? how is it coming for you? Looks like Tummy is going to join in..... I know it is weird, but it keeps me in line when I know I have to come back and report daily. I hope I can keep it up.
Jesicado- Your tattoo is awesome! I wish I had the guts/freedom to do something like that! but alas, I am just a big Chicken when it comes to needles! Congratulations on the 100 pounds gone! That is just amazing!

Ok girls gotta run, I am late for my exercise today!
  • Jesicado- must say I really admire your tat! I want another one so bad

Well, I had a few slip ups this weekend (pizza and ice cream with my bff) but I did a really really good job of portion control and the scale was down 1.5 lbs this morning from last week!!! WOOOO!!!
  • March challenge
OK, I want to get in on a challenge.I just signed up on this site last week.I signed up with a 4lb. weight loss and I have gained it back. I need something like this challenge or maybe a Drill Sergeant!!
My goal will be 10lbs. and to drink more water. I have been holding on to alot of water lately.I can't seem to get rid of it.Does anyone have suggestions?

  • Hi all

Thanks for the support. I took Friday off from exercise. Did nothing, sat on the couch while my BFF sweated through the 30DS. But I guess I needed to rest cause come Saturday morning the scale said 216.6!

It was gratifying and to celebrate I took a nice 2 hour long walk on Saturday morning.

Now we just need to keep going.
  • Hello lovelies!!!

I would attempt to do personals for everyone, but alas, I need to sleep tonight.

So I'll do a few and do a blanket and to everyone else!

Jess - Cool tat! I'm planning my next one too. Much smaller than yours though!

Brittany - Portion control is what it's all about. You don't have to deprive yourself of all the yummies.

Lewis Empire - Grats on the perfect week!!

OK, so here's the bad. We'll start with the negative first. Eating has been crazy. I've been craving avocados like some sick person. I had one at least 4 times last week, and have 3 more sitting in my kitchen. Yes, I'll eat the whole thing at once. What is wrong with me? And ice cream. I have been eating a bowl (granted a small bowl) every night. I didn't need to eat ice cream for months and now all of a sudden I have to have it! Ugh.

OK, now the good. I got my Enell bra in the mail on Thursday. It's ok. Better than my other sports bra, but still not controlling all the bounce like everyone claims it would. I realize I'm larger chested than most women trying to run, but short of duct taping these things down, I don't know what to do. But, I have been running, so that's good. DH has been saying he can see a marked difference in my shape, so I did measurements. Since the end of January, I have lost 1 inch in waist and hips, .5 inch in thighs and forearm, 1.5 inches in bicep, and my ribcage is down to 33" from 38" when I started this journey. So the weight has stayed exactly the same, but the inches are coming off. That makes me happy. Running seems to be doing the trick.

Well, that's about it. I need to take my sorry butt to bed. Early day at work tomorrow. Have a good one chicas!

  • Tummy-I agree! At this point it feels like it would be something of a miracle for me to have 7 OP days in a row. I was doing great until Friday night, then the meal out was too much. I started back at day 1 Saturday, so we go from there I guess. On an upside, Saturday was my longest run since December, 4 miles, which was wonderful. I am so OVERJOYED at the temps in the 40'sF here. It is unspeakably freeing to run outside in the sunshine. I may shoot for 5 miles next weekend, but I must be patient and keep the legs healthy!

LE-See above...I am on day 2 OP. Friday night's meal was NOT OP, so here I go again. The sucky thing is that my weight doesn't want to recover from Friday night's indulgence. Dang it!! We'll see what the scale shows in the morning.

Nella-Yeah, ice cream is good, but probably not as a daily treat...ooh, except for those lo cal bars that are portion controlled and super yummy! Hmmm, good luck on the bra front. Not an issue for me anymore, so I can't help ya there.

knobhdy: Yay on the progress and nice walk! Gotta love those kinda celebrations!

mystical: Keep doing your thing! You are making the good choices, so that's definitely worth celebrating. Hope the housework went well.

eclipse: Sorry to hear the back pain continues. That just ain't right! I'm glad you're still making the effort, though...checkin in here and still going in the right direction!

jessicado-Nice tat! I don't know what I expected it to look like, but it's way better than I would've imagined. Good choice! I can't wait to see it with color!

So, I'm feeling good about my weekend, even with company today. I got an excellent run Saturday and next week I plan to add Sunday, so I'm back to 4 days/wk. The weight was going well but then after eating out Friday it popped back up and doesn't want to come back down! That sucks!!!!!! Live and learn, I guess. Moving on and expecting the scale to move in the right direction very soon.
  • Sorry I didn’t get to everyone personally! The bed is calling after a busy weekend.

My weekend: I’m still bread free, I’m so happy, I really didn’t think I could give it up (even temporarily) it’s gotten easier as the days have gone by. Managed to ignore the yummy food at girls night last night, did indulge in 1 margarita. Walked/Jogged my mile on the treadmill & had a good but low food day. Official weigh-in this weekend and I was DOWN 3.8 pounds! Thanks for being there with all your stories and honesty, it’s really so motivating and enlightening. Have a wonderful Monday everyone

    knobhdy: Yeah! Congrats
nomoredreamin: Welcome, drinking lots of water and watching sodium from hidden places.
Brittany1988: Awesome weight loss! A “cheat day” once a week can be great for the body and tricking the metabolism as long as you kick right back in the next day. It’s good you had a nice weekend with a friend!
Lewisempire: 7 Perfect days! That’s awesome, way to go! I know that’s a feat
    Jesicado- Your tattoo is awesome!
LouisaH & NightAngel26: Thanks for the welcome, the support looks incredible.
Tummy: Your running is fabulous. I look forward to being able to run like that someday!
jenntx71: Welcome I’m so glad I found this site too. Yeah Google!
eclipse: I had AF at my house too. It’s really hard to keep up the effort when the dang scale is moving up and your blasting through. Have a great week now!
  • Evening everyone!

I'm pretty proud of myself! Today I took my daughter to a Mother/Daughter Tea for Girl Scouts - there were cookies, and cupcakes, and brownies galore! I think I did soooo well, though. I didn't have any tea, because they didn't have any splenda (I'm not even a splenda fan, but I didn't want to have the sugar) - so I just drank water. I had a few mini sandwiches - cream cheese/cucumber, pbj, and mock chicken salad - a bunch of strawberries, a couple of deviled egg halves, and one small truffle ball for splurge. I did good faith estimates on my calories, counted them as dinner, and I'm still managing to come in under calories for the day. I really, really, really wanted to sample all the cookies and baked goods, but I didn't!
  • check in...
well I was bad and the lasagna got me. Eh, at least I'll be working out most of this week. I didn't work out yesterday because I figured I should give it a rest once in a while and I had worked out mon-sat 2 hrs a day or so...

however that didn't stop the lbs from coming back... so... need to drop 2 more again!
  • Hey Chickies!

I've been MIA, again. But my friend is gone and even though the house seems sadly quiet now, I'm ready to get back on track. Oddly enough, even with the Ben & Jerry's and the eating out, I've managed to come out with a net .4 lb loss from the past 3 weeks. I'm feeling pretty great about that. Also, I'm starting TOM so possibly some water weight in there too.

The work outs have suffered, naturally and I'm feeling ill so I skipped today's as well. I'm going to have to get back on track with that also.

I plan on reading everyone's posts when I get some time. I hope everyone is doing great!
  • Tummy - I really admire all the running you do. You are a true inspiration to all of us. And, thanks for noticing my breaking through a plateau

Nella - great news on the inches lost. that's fantastic!

Ms Perception - It always creeps up after a day off plan. I'm sure the scale will be headed in the right direction soon.

HMA -that's great news on the near 4 lbs!

Eclipse - I wish I had your willpower. I'm impressed.

I've been MIA too because I thought I had a cold; turns out it's seasonal allergies. I managed to lose 1 lb, so I have 2 more lbs to go to reach my goal for the month. I'm going to Amsterdam this weekend and hope I don't go too off plan. Eclipse may I borrow some willpower for the weekend?
  • SG-Glad to have you back more, though I'm sure you're missing your friend. Take care of yourself so you recover quickly from the bug you have.

NightAngel-iDream has a good recipe for a lightened up lasagna. I tried it and really liked it, but DH wasn't as enthusiastic. I LOVE lasagna, so I have to find ways to make it work! It is good to have a rest day. You'll make up the calorie burn in no time the other 6 days.

eclipse-Excellent job resisting the goodies at the tea! DD1 is joining Girl Scouts now that we've moved. She's excited 'cuz a couple of her friends are in it.

HelloMe-Good job sticking to your plan! It does get easier to eat the right way for our bodies once we kind of get the "junk" out of our systems. Note I said EASIER, but certainly not EASY over the long haul. But it's definitely worth it!

Taurie-That's the killer. It wasn't even a day off plan. It was 1 meal and I wasn't that bad. Also the weight has continued to go UP since that "morning after". THAT's the annoying part!

So far so good today other than my evil scale telling me I'm GAINING weight. I have gained a little each day since my low this month Friday morning, which is so weird because I only ate off plan Friday night (just supper). I've been on plan since then. Eh, whatever. I'm going back to MORE planning, counting fruits and veggies and all that junk. I feel great other than that!
  • Good morning All!
Wow, here we are back at monday.....The weekend was too short. Now it is back to the grind! I did really well this weekend, except I went over my 2200 cal on Sunday night by 300 little calories!!!!! YIKES! On the good side though, I worked my butt off on Sunday hiking, horsebackrideing, and house work. So hopefully it will not kill me at the scales. We will see.....

Ms P- I admire you for your running! Don't worry to long about the meal out/and the scale. It is probably a lot of extra sodium hanging on. So hang in there, you are an inspiration to me!

    Taurie
AGHHH allergies suck! sorry to hear you are suffering. My Dad had them really bad when he first moved to California. He swears that he cured them by getting some local honey, and eating a spoonful of it everyday. It has to be local to your area though. And not sure if you have room in your diet plan for that either......??

Shrinking Welcome back! WTG on losing while your friend was in town! That is great.

    Nightangel
yep lasagna can kill ya! I am sure it was yummy! Like MsP said, there are lots of options to make it a little more diet friendly for you. I usually do the WW veggie lasagna version, it is very tasty!
ECLIPSE Well done! you should be very proud of yourself! They have been pushing the dreaded Girlscout cookies around the entrance of Walmart lately, So far so good on not giving in. Sometimes I feel like lifting up my shirt so they can see my gut and saying "Do I look like I want to buy any of those things? HAHAHA

HellomeagainGreat job on staying away from the bread, that is not an easy thing to do! Keep up the good work, Those kinds of decisions really show up at the scale!

Ok, girls, I have to get up, I have a list a mile long, and not enough time to do it! So Hugs to everyone- Keep fighting for what you want to achieve!
  • Ms Perception - that's really odd. Hopefully it turns out to just be water.

LE - Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try for next year though because I'm supposed to take it six months in advance Unfortunately, I also suffer from grass pollen, so it won't have any effect there, but at least it will minimize the severity of my allergies by taking one element out of the equation.
