Shylah- I can definitely relate to the annoyance thing with workout DVD's. Thankfully, I can fast forward through it! I can't imagine how annoyed I would be if I couldn't. You did treadmill, so I wouldn't worry about missing that work out. Maybe later today if you aren't still annoyed you could give it a try.
Northern: Excellent taking yoga over chocolate. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now! But remember, soon you'll be able to take a deep breath and look back on it. Just a few more days! (Hopefully!) I wish you the best of luck- keep looking on to the future!
AJ: 3 miles? Wow. Sounds like great exercise. I push mow under the trees and around things the riding mower can't get and it takes about 5 hours (I usually split it up)- I should check that on the pedometer! And don't go into the weekend thinking you'll screw up- that puts you on the path to. You'll do fine, just keep on going!
KDM- Congrats on finishing 30ds!!!!!!
Fruitlady- I've never had any water buildup around my knees, but I do get occasional pain. You could try using glucosamine supplements to help your joints. They helped loosen me up. Do you think it's joint related?
So, today starts the last week of Slim in 6!!!! I'm so excited, but a little scared of what to do after because I know anything I do will be a slower weight loss and I don't want to get discouraged. But- I'm down to 138 as of this morning! I was good and stayed away from the scale all week- so this was a pleasant surprise. It has been so long since I've been in the 130's. I just hope I can keep loosing weight after this last week is done. It feels like I've been doing this forever and the last week just snuck up at me from nowhere!
The past two days I was a little low on calories (been busy) but I don't think that had much effect on the weight I lost- there was only a negligible difference. I'm going to be good today! I haven't done my workout yet but I plan on doing it right after this update. Only 6 more workouts! I can't believe it.
Corinne: Awesome job with the weightloss. I've been exactly where you're at and the 130's are something to celebrate! Keep it up and if you need any help let me know...oh...slim...6..???? curious?
ShylahEQ: Sorry to hear that, I bet that's super annoying! They should have a menu so you can select to hear her intro or just get to the work out. Hope it goes better for you
NorthernExposure: I have been there with the skin issue...I've done so much research and my own experience...So normally ppl who have a rapid weightloss tend to have loose skin because the body doesn't have enough time to adjust. If you are losing it slowly..or moderately...then normally it will be fine...now that being said...when I gained all my weight, I noticed stretch marks around my belly button..which was the indicator for me...so as I lost the first part of the weight I kept putting on lotion to make my skin plyable. It did help, I'm now at the part of I can't tell if it's loose skin on my stomach or just soft fat that needs some muscle...I need to start toning..which is what you said and I know that will help. Sorry this is long, but all in all I really do believe it's all to do with genetics....sorry to say..the skin on my legs and arms..no problem for me due to my genetics, but my stomach no so much...however you can make changes that will help. Hope this helps you.
AJinTN: contrats on the weightloss! That's great you got 3 miles in by cutting the grass...no just don't tell the bf that because he's trying to get me to cut the grass...we have a difference of opinion when it comes to house hold chores lol..
shan84: Keep up the great work! I need to be like you and start planning things out better. You will do so well this challenge..Good Luck!
Miss Mae: I'm happy you found what works for you! I think that's an awesome plan.
KDM: congrats on 30DS! That's huge!
Fruitlady: sorry to hear about your knee. I've never had that but a friend of mine did...she had a few procedures done when she was younger and it seem to help. I hope you feel better
Lori: I don't have dial-up now, I did before, yes it sucks but way cheaper! The bf and I have the lowest broadband though, so it's not the really "high speed"... that's too expensive. We are looking to get everything on a package deal...We have wowway for internet, comcast for t.v. and Att for cellphones. my parents have all of that stuff with Att. We are still looking at what will give us the most bang for our buck! Hope your sweatin off the lbs!
So weight was alright this morning...still within range, I'm right before TOM and the bf and i were up late packing so we had a lil snacky which i'm sure didn't help this morning. As long as I stay between the 3lbs I'm good, but just need to exercise and try to gain some muscle in my stomach.
Yesterday I got my resume together and ready to send out, but now I have to get my cover letters finished for the specific companies. Which won't happen until monday, I have to work today and we leave for upnorth tonight after work. His mom doesn't have internet up there so no bringing the laptop to use. So apparently we have a fun weekend planned his mom wants to go wine tasting...picnic on the beach, and have a party with a bonfire. sounds fun!
Hope you ladies have a wonderful day and if I don't get on here again have a great weekend!
Today will be a cardio, probably a step aerobics workout.
So, i started back on plan last Saturday and since then I'm down 7lbs, I'm sure its mostly water weight but still proud of it Not sure If you guys remember but back in the St. Patrick's day challenge my lowest was 174, so until i reach that weight I'm playing catch up right now...
DVR working now, thank goodness. DH fixed it,yay!
Lori-LOL @ Priss head, my DH's nick name for me prissypants His nickname honeybunny, I like to call him that in front of his friends and he can't stand it...LOL
JD-Im sure you wont have any trouble landing a job. You have a great attitude about life and your interviewer will see that. Im right there with ya on sending out Resume's. I plan on sending out at least 30 monday...Will find us a job girl!!! Have a safe trip.
CorinneIrene-Congrats on completing Slim & Six! I hear thats a great series!
Shylah-I know what you mean about sitting though the introduction on 30DS..it is annoying. I think the Biggest Loser workouts are like that too.
Hello to everyone I missed...wish i had time to reply to everyone
Have a great Friday! Its pizza night at my house tonight so the kids get there usual pizza(Digiorno) and I'm gonna pick me up a Kashi pizza...soooooo good!
Well no more change from me on the weight front, slow and steady wins the race tho! I really need to step it up on the exercise, I am losing my motivation to work out, I think I need to get up in the morning and do it. I come home after working like 9-10 hours and have no motivation to work out. haha. I stay OP calorie wise, but my exercising has been nothing more than mediocre.
shylah: I HATE THAT TOO!!!!! I leave the room until it is done, it's so annoying. I guess that's what we have to expect from a DVD that is only 9.99. haha
lori: haha yeah I have highspeed, luckily....I used to have AOL a long time ago, so I know your pain....and I just don't have the patience for that...haha, I have gotta give you props for not being P.O'd ever time you go on the internet! have you done that 45 minutes, 2 times a day thing through out your entire weightloss? that's a lot of walking!
KDM: congrats on finishing 30DS!!!!!! That is amazing!!!!! You definitely gotta be proud of yourself! I think I might do what you suggested, do the 30DS maybe every other day and then cardio 6 days out of the week. I guess it's discouraging to see the scale slow down in weightloss but the loss in inches has to be even more exciting!! you lost almost 8 inches?! now that's an accomplishment!!!
northern: i've heard that too, that toning will help with the loose skin after a huge weightloss, haha hopefully it works! man, I would be so depressed if I lost a bunch of weight and had really baggy, loose skin all over I have those same exact concerns as you do, my only fear is that my expectations are very unrealistic. I'm concerned abut being disappointed, but we can't be disappointed after losing all that weight and finally being Healthy!!!
corinne: congrats on almost finishing Slim in 6!!!! that's awesome!! would you recommend that workout?
jdon: have fun this weekend!!!! that sounds like sooo much fun!!!!!!! jealous!
don't stress too much about getting your resume all perfect this weekend and what not, just enjoy the vacation and fun you will be having! you have DEFINITELY earned it!
misspriss: congrats on those 7 pounds, i'd be way excited too!!!!!
Thanks everyone, When I was 18 my cartlidge in my knee became disattached, it was just floating in my knee and still is. I guess it's floating in the right place cause this isn't acting the same as before when I was younger. It was very painful and swollen, couldn't walk for months. As I am getting older it's giving me problems, but the symptoms are different. My calories are right on track today and I finally started dropping weight. I'm moving in the right direction at least.
Just popping in to say hello. I've been on plan and walked a mile and a half on my lunch break. Work had been crazy and I will be leaving work shortly The family has arrived for the weekend so I will be hosting (no rest for the working)!!! May not be on the puter til early tomorrow...while everyone is sleeping. If it's not raining early I plan to go walking in the park before they get up and try to get some breakfast prepared.
I will catch up with everyone tomorrow morning or if I get a free moment tonight.
On another note...Shylah you will be next in line for the TSPs. I will get with you in a week or two to get them to you.

Farn~Slow & steady does win the race so hang in there!
The first month I figured just carring my own weight was plenty of exercise LOL! Then I got worried If I didn't exercise I would be all outta shape Cause I was losing pretty good & quickly Especially at the beginning SO I started Walking 15 minutes 3 times a day ~(equalls 45 Of course u know that)Then I upped it And withing my 3rd month of losing weight I had built myself up to 45 mintues 2 x's a day Most everyday ~sometimes I will forget to take my breaks & I get really sore But I try to Do it only that amount of times a week sometimes 5 ~But usually I A lWAYS end up doing it 2 or 3 weeks straight With no breaks then take 2 days off and back at it again~I also added in situps /crunches~leg lifts ect. to tone my thighs & belly about 4 months ago & do about 10 to 15 minutes Of those various exercises daily.~Sucks but I am use to it now & feel wierd when I don't do it all.~I got Musculer legs SORTA! From all that walking~LOLOr I hope so!
Fruitlady ~sending hugs to your knee!

Corinne: Thanks I actually got a LOT done today, so with luck, maybe I will be done on Wednesday after all! I love my job (most days), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't live for the summer!
FruitLady: Sorry to hear about your knee . I hope my knee problems get better as I continue to lose weight. You're too little to have knee problems!!
JD: I'm sure you're right about the genetics and I guess I won't find out what kind of DNA I was blessed or cursed with until I get there...but I'm going to do what I can! Oh, and good luck on the job hunt!
MissPriss: congrats on the 7 lbs, that's great!
Farn: you're right...loose skin or not, it's better than being fat and unhealthy!
Shylah: I feel your pain. My biggest loser DVD does the same thing. I usually watch it with the sound off anyway and just play my ipod. Can't stand listening to the same thing over and over again!
Lori: have fun at the yard sales!
Everyone else: have a wonderful weekend!
A bit of news from my world: so I did a little shopping after work today because I am absolutely DROWNING in my clothes and need to start building at least a small summer wardrobe. I am solidly in an 18/20 (18's are a little tight, but it won't be long!) Most of my clothes are 24's (finally got rid of the 26's), so it was nice to just skip on past those 22's!
I am definitely going to need a whole new wardrobe for fall when I go back to work, but I don't even want to think about fall/winter clothes right now! Those turtlenecks and sweaters will just have to get comfy in the back of the closet until they're packed up for Goodwill come September, lol.
Though I work Friday-Monday, so really it's the week beginning for me, haha.
Northern: Glad to hear you've gotten a lot done! Summer is within reach, certainly. Hope everything sorts itself out.
Lori: One of the people I work with absolutely loves yard/garage sales. First thing he does when we get the local "My shopper" is open up to the garage sale page. I swear, he'd do it every day if he could! He's going to a big community one today as well.
Miss Mae: Slim in 6 is a program from Beach Body (the same ones who sell P90x, Turbo Jam, etc.). Basically, it's like a boot camp style routine that you do for 6 days a week for 6 weeks. They're pretty basic moves (I recognize quite a few from high school gym warm ups!) but can be pretty intense and it takes some getting used to. There are three phases (Start it up, ramp it up, and burn it up) so that you can gradually get your body used to it- I advanced a lot quicker than I thought! I'm amazed at how healthy I've gotten in such a short period of time. She uses "Slim training" to reshape your body. That being said, it DOES get a little boring and repetitive- I've spent the last four weeks doing the Burn it up routine 6 days a week- now I'm excellent at it, but I find myself not wanting to push play some days, haha. I can definitely see myself using this workout in the future to maintain. There is also an excellent nutrition guide.
Jiggle- Have a great weekend with your family!!
Farn: Thank you! See above post to Miss Mae- and yes, I would definitely recommend it! I definitely know what it's like not wanting to work out after long days. I work 11 hours shifts on Saturdays so I wake up extra early to get a workout in and Sundays I work 13 hours so I use that as my current break day. I like to get my workouts done in the morning- of course, I'm lucky that I only have to work two mornings a week (my other shifts are all afternoons).
Misspriss- Thank you! It definitely is. My body has changed so much in such a short time and I feel so wonderful. And mmm, I love Kashi pizza!
Jdon- Thank you!! I'm still ecstatic. A while ago I just threw in the towel and resigned myself to my weight but now that I'm back down, I don't ever want to go back up! I feel so healthy, too. One step closer to my goal! As for Slim in 6, see my post to Miss Mae. It's a great workout. You must be so excited sending out your resumes! I wish you the best of luck with that.
As for me, I'm excited that it's the last Saturday that I had to wake up super early. Just got done with coffee and breakfast. I've been doing well OP- yesterday, I did have some fig newtons at work because I was trying to get my calories up. When I did the math, I found out I was way under for the day so I also had some homemade macaroni and cheese with my dinner salad. And it was delicious...must avoid those leftovers today, haha! It can be hard in a work environment when one of my jobs is to cook- and my coworkers are all excellent cooks as well. Quite often they aren't the healthiest choices and there is always snack food around. I certainly gained weight when I first started working there, haha. No more giving in to temptations! Hope the weekend is going well for you all!
So no weight loss....kind of bummed but I did lose 6 lbs the first week so I figure 2 lbs per week and my body adjusting to it can't be all bad. Anyways, I'm going to decrease my calories by 200, I was averaging 1850 and add in 200 calorie burning exercise per day. Get my water in and decrease my salt intake. Let's see if I can jump start this puppy :-).
I have to say though I've been eating better and taking my vitamins and feeling a whole lot better the last couple of weeks. I didn't gain it all in 2 months so I'm not going to lose it all in 2 months. I'm going to stick to my original goal...163 by July 4th.
So, sigh, i had an emotional day yesterday that ended in disaster for my diet. Got really frustrated with our home owners insurance. There giving us a really hard time. For those that don't know. A few weeks ago a huge thunderstorm came though and took out just about all of our electronics. over 1400$ worth of damages.
So anyways, i made the mistake of not eating a lot for breakfast(which i should know better about) and ate fast food with DH around 2. ARG.
Today im moving on and forgetting about it. Just reading about how you guys are doing is inpsirining enough for me to get back on track today. I plan on getting an AWESOME last chance workout in today and kicking some bootie
Lori-LOL at you calling your DH that in front of his mother. That is so hilarious! I do the same thing to my dh. The story is that when we met he introduced his self as Jason, well i found out very quickly after meeting his mom that his name was Donnie. LOL, you can only guess what i call him in front of his mom, hehehe and i say it with a smile on my face I know...its awful but dang that women always finds a way to get under my skin. i think for the most part we do love each other but she has stepped on my toes an awful lot in the past 10yrs....hugs, crocodile
Sumu1-hugs! You have a great attitude about it. I feel the same way..i have to keep reminding myself that it didn't take me over night to gain the weight. We will get there!
CorinneIrene-I love it when i discover that i have extra calories to throw around. Fig newtons sound good..yum. Have a good weekend.
NorthernExposure-Congratulations on the new smaller size..that is such and awesome feeling! Yay on buying a new clothes for the fall!!!
Miss Mae-high fives on the elliptical workouts yesterday. I really want one one day, got a treadmill but there so boring. LOL. I hope your baseball game went well. Im a ATL Braves fan myself...
Jigglefree-Good job on staying on plan. Have a nice weekend with your family
Fruitlady-I was wondering about your name...do you grow fruit trees? we have crab apples in the front yard. Good job staying on track.
Farn- I hope you have a good day today. Slow steady is right girl! Lord know thats how i have been traveling on this weight loss journey of mine, LOL
alrighty, running out of time...i will bb tomorrow or monday. Have a great weekend
