It is glorious here - just after 7am and only 72 degrees! Almost unheard of in Vegas in June. Today's high is only supposed to be 84 - I have the whole house open and the cats are outside going batty in the "cold"!

Serbrider - I was going to suggest something similar to Corrine - look for ways to add protein to your diet, particularly in the form of nuts or nut butters. Also make sure you're getting good fats in there - I know so many times we avoid fat but the good ones like olive oil, avocado, and nuts are so good for you and in moderation, really help satisfy hunger and keep your energy up. I have no problems getting my calories up to 1,500 a day and these are some of the things I make sure to eat regularly!

Corrine - don't you get a lot of humidity where you are? I detest humidity - I will gladly take 110 degrees of dry heat over 80 degrees and humid any day. I spent two summers in Indiana and I've got friends in Westchester county that I've visited in the summer - never again! Even LA, where I lived for 11 years, feels really humid to me now that I live in Vegas. Oh, cheesecake! I had a slice at a local steak house that my firm took us to - it was amazing, so light and fluffy. I am a sucker for cheesecake - I try and limit it to once every couple of months, and preferably after I've had a really good hard workout!

Right, I have to get my butt in gear to head over to the South Point for my first day of learning how to train my stubborn and lazy horse!

Northern- Oo! Free food! Haha, I'm sure you'll be able to keep tabs on it. It's good that you'll be doing a lot of activity, too.

Jules- Yep, the humidity is horrible. I've never experienced dry heat- but I've always wanted to. I can imagine it being sooo nice. It gets so humid I feel like I can't breathe sometimes. It's going to be a humid one today- not too bad temp wise (78) but thunderstorms all day. The storms themselves are so refreshing, but the build up is what gets me!

Well, Ladies...I'M BAAAAACK! Got back last night and boy, did I have some catching up to do!!! I think like almost 8 pages! So I just finished reading all of them, and it looks like most of you are doing great!!! Lori & Amelia LOVE THE PICS!!! You both look beautiful!!!

As for me, my week at the conference wasn't too horribly bad until Thurs & Fri...I did really well the first part of the week. I watched what I ate and don't think I went over my cals too bad (couldn't really count when eating at local restaurants w/no nutrition listings). Altho, I did have 2-3 "drinks" every evening But then Thursday a bunch of us ordered pizza & hung out. I had 3 or 4 pieces throughout the night...then had 4 or 5 yesterday for lunch, then on the road while I was driving home! UGH! Then to top it off, DH's bday was yesterday, so I met him before he went to work. I stopped at GiGi's cupcakes to get him one & had decided I wouldn't get one for myself. Well, then I went to check out and the girl had 3 in little bowls that had fallen over on the shelf and she was giving them away....she "twisted my arm" enough that I ended up taking one! UGH! Wanted to only eat half, but ended up eating the entire thing!!! As for excercising, HAD NO TIME!!! The gym I "thought" I was going to have access to, was closed for the summer. I did take 30DS, but just didnt have time. Got up at 645 for class, back to the room about 530 or so, then had to take showers for dinner at 7...and when you're eating out w/a big group, it takes longer! Then it was back to the room for bedtime between 11 & 12...EVERY DAY!

SOOO, my plan is to chug the water today, eat OP today, and check out the damage to the scale tomorrow. I'm scared, but I need to check it out to remind myself that I NEED to exercise and watch what I eat! This is a lifestyle change and a week OFF plan will definitely screw with the scale. But, my plan for this challenge was to maintain...yes I made a ticker for a 4 or 5lb loss, but that's just in case I did lose I'll be happy with 170 on the scale on 7/4! As for my exercise goals, they're already down the drain! But it's back OP this week! Then the beach next week, then one last week for me to get the water weight off for WI on 7/4

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

What kind of pizza do you eat? I use to buy this flatbread pizza and by the time i was finished putting what i wanted on it(mostly veggies) it would end up being about 350-400 caloreis but SOOOOO DARN GOOD and filling too! Now i can't find the flat bread crust anywhere. What kind of crust do you use? I'm going to try and go for 1400, the only thing that concerns me is my workouts, i LOVE my workouts and im afraid my energy will suffer if i go too little..will see how it plays out. I do know i will have to clean up my eating a lot if i shoot for a low calorie...no more baked lays, LOL that's 130 calories of something more nutritious i could be eating Know what i mean...

KDM-Thank you! Your so sweet, don't worry about your week..your doing so great with your weight loss those treats probably won't even show on the scale. You'll be back on track and be losing again in no time.

Darn it, I forgot to get some dark chocolate squares again...my kids were really driving me nuts today in the store so i couldn't concentrate AND i forgot my list...gets on my nerves when i do that anyhoot...you guys have a good Saturday evening. I will bb tomorrow

OH, I bought some new bagels by Thomas! There called Thin Bagels and only 110 calories, 5g protein & 5g fiber(i always look at those first when buying breads) not too bad. There not whole wheat but i wanted to try the Everything flavor...there pretty good. It nice to eat something different,LOL.

I finally had a woosh! 3.5 pounds! Just two days of eating healthy did this! Feels great to be below 110lbs again. Swearing off processed food is what I needed to do. Had 1100 cal today, cause I was eating watermelon as I was cutting it up, to put it in containers. It was delicious! If anyone has any recipes for homemade peanut butter and ice cream, let me know. I'm not buying the processed stuff anymore and I make small portions so I don't go overboard. Hope everyone is doing great!

Default What a Day

I ran all of my errands and it is flippin 95 degrees in Atlanta. I went to the farmers market and nearly lost my mind. I was like a kid in a candy store. I got stuff to make my own fruit bowl and I'm so excited. I was sad because on the way on home from work there is usually a man with a truck full of watermelons and he has been MIA since Thursday. Well the first thing I want to do was see if he was on his corner at 8:30am. HE WAS!!! I got a huge watermelon for $5. It is sooooooo good. Just sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. I got nectarines, peaches and grapes at the farmers market. I was going to get some black berries but I didn't get back to the store...they were cheaper at Walmart. I'm going to be able to get full on all my fruit. I also bought some asparagus and have NO idea how to cook it...any suggestions? When I tell you this place had everything...Now I know where to go for my collards. They have gluten free pasta, all kinds of rice and fresh spices, fresh fish, seafood or any other kind of meat you would want. This is going to be a monthly stop for us to stock up on everything!! I was so GEEKED

I hope you all are having a fantastic day!!

KDM - Welcome back...I thought about you this morning. I said to myself oh yea she had a conference to go to. Missed ya!!
Susie - Where are you??!!

I weighed yesterday after eating (just because I was in the bathroom with the scale and I was curious)... 213.4... Which means that I'm less than that in reality. Tried to weigh this morning... but since I had to get up at 6:30 b/c I had the ACT... and my Dad doesn't get up until 7:30... I didn't have a chance... so I'll weigh for real tomorrow morning.

I am also fitting REALLY well into my size 14L jeans. They are my sorta skinny jeans. They were ones I got when I was still in my 18L and 16L... (skinny on 16 and MASSIVE on 18... now the 18s are literally falling off me when I put them on).

I just feel... well... good. I was SO proud of myself. It was Saturday night. Our church has a Saturday night service... and there's always a TON of food... not just that the CHURCH offers, but the youth teachers always bring giant bags of candy.

I ONLY ate two of those 3 whopper per package things... (when normally I would eat like... 10 of them), yeah... I did have to tell myself "only two... no more" fifty times... since the mention of the whoppers kept coming up during our discussion. >.<

And with the food the church offers... I had a glass of water, and only one carrot cake muffin (no icing, if there had been icing I know I would have avoided it... icing has recently started giving me stomach issues... almost EVERYTHING has been giving me stomach issues lately... urgh). So I was proud of that. And... of course... there was something ELSE with tons of food at. I only had two of the cakey type things (they were tiny bite sized things), a plate full of fruit, and three piece of those cheddar cheese cube things.

Altogether not the BEST evening when it comes to the food... but MUCH better than I would have done a few weeks ago... so I'm proud of that. And I HAD set aside like... 500 calories worth for snacks... (anything I can get my hands on at this point really... there's not much around the house... and won't be... we're moving REALLY soon).

I also went and got some running shoes!!! After going to two different stores and trying on like... fifty different shoes, my mom avoiding ALL of the brands I was wanting (nikes, even being on sale for $50), we ended up getting a pair of Nikes at Kohls for $35... and they fit great... So yeah.

OH... and you know those Sketcher's Shape Ups or whatever? Well... I got a pair... well... it's actually one of the knock-off brands... but I LOVE them. I wore them all this evening... and... well... I know it's not hunger... it's not THAT kind of pain... my abs are burning... not like... really bad... more of a dull pain I'd get after like... fifty situps (situps don't usually burn that bad for me... crunches... whole 'nother story... ). But that's not bad considering I was sitting most of the time, and just walking around from here to there. So yeah... love them... love them... love them.

So yeah... And tomorrow mom said we're going to go by a nearby Platos Closet (second hand shop), see if we can sell my size 18 and some of my size 16 pants... and get some more size 14 pants. And I have my ONE pair of size 12... I am working so hard... I can't wait to try them on at the end of the summer and have them fit. It WILL happen. No more "hopefully". It WILL happen... that's what I have to keep telling myself... otherwise I'll never get moving.

So yeah... today was good. Apart from the ACT... that was a drag.

Well it is Sunday morning; weigh day! I am down 2.2lbs. since the start of the challenge. I am now out of the 21x's and working on seeing a 1 as the first number on the scale. Hubby comes home today, so I've got to run. I still have a few things I have to do around the house and get a shower, do my hair, etc. before I have to leave to go pick him up.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hey Y'all. We went out of town for a wedding today and I ate alot. Not really toooo bad, but I did have about 1/4 piece of the wedding cake. It was a lot of fruit and vegies, just finger food type things. I am sooo full. Who even knows how many calories today, above my limit, I know that. Right back on the wagon tomorrow, though! No going out for after church lunch for me tomorrow.

Sounds like you're all doing pretty well, that's great.

Off to sleepy town for me, Just thought I'd better tell Mrs. Jiggle where I've been :O)

I think I may be in trouble. Before I started my weight loss journey I had a REAL BAD problem eating late at night. Even though I'm within my calorie limits I'm starting to fall back into that habit. I've been having the bulk of my calories in the evening. Well today I feel like I've gone too far. Like before dinner today I probably only had about 800 calories. Then I started eating trying to catch up my calories. Which led to eating more than I should have. This started because I decided to up my calories to 1800 this week and it has been really bad. I'm dialing it back down to 1400 because 1800 seems like I'm eating too much food.

Susie - LOL!!!

Hola ladies.

I did horribly yesterday. I definitely overate- though I was too afraid to plug it all into MyPlate- I stopped counting after lunch. I know I didn't go over by a ridiculous amount, but I really need to step it up and I failed yesterday.

On top of having a few snacks (none that were bad, but could've been better) and a smoothie (which was delicious and healthy!) I had steak and potato skins for dinner.

I was good about portions with the steak but had 4 or 5 potato skins when I initially was only going to have 1. Blah. Not to mention, I had more cheesecake yesterday.

As a result, I felt so sluggish after dinner last night I could barely finish work. I had planned to go home and hop right on the treadmill, but after an 11 hour day and all that heavy food in my stomach, I collapsed into bed.

This morning, my guts HATE me. My stomach is having a stern lecture with me, haha. No wonder I haven't had cravings for these foods, because they make me feel like crap. My guts are very, very unhappy.

I took a probiotic to see if that'll help my nastiness, but I plan on eating very lightly today. I didn't exercise this morning because I just feel foul- hopefully I'll have the energy to do it when I get home later!

Jiggle- You and me both! Let's get back on track today, shall we? Your farmer's market finds sound good! Hopefully my backyard will become a farmer's market this year with all the food I have planted! Love fresh fruits and veggies!

Susie- Ooh, notorious wedding food. Sounds like you met the challenge head on! Good for you not eating a whole piece of cake- I would've said to myself..."well, it is a wedding...I need to celebrate!"

Mkyice- Congrats! You're well on your way.

Serb- Glad to hear you're doing well! Shopping gets so fun when you're losing weight. I'm wearing a size 6 right now- it's been about 2 years since I've fit into anything that small! Feels good.

Fruitlady- I know what you mean about processed foods. They always make me feel icky and are killer on the scale. I had frozen potato skins last night from TGI Fridays...I refuse to step on the scale today, haha! Not to mention I feel horrible.

Misspriss- Those thin bagels sounds like a good idea. I'm so spoiled with my home town bagels though, so I'm super picky, haha.

KDM- I'm sure you'll get back on track in no time. Let's do this!

Alright...I have to, erm, run to the bathroom...with my current digestive issues....ehem....

Ugh. I'm up .9 lbs since Tuesday. I ate too much salt yesterday, hoping it's mostly just water weight. Well, good reminder for me to NOT slack off in my plan this week, in spite of the free conference food! I do need to tighten up my plan though. Been going a little over on calories more days than I should, and not always eating the right foods. I need a kick in the butt!!

I will try to keep up with this challenge on my phone, but probably won't be saying a whole lot....do know I will be cheering everyone on though!

Hey ladies!! Just dropping in for a quick hello!! I have been so busy lately I havent even had a chance to sit down at the computer.

Yesterday was not a good day for me. I had a few drinks last night, something I havent done in a while and im pretty sure with that and the food that was at the party I went WAY over my calories. But its okay it was one night and if this is going to be something I do for the rest of my life (CC) then there are going to be times that I am going to go over or eat "bad". Today I will do better.

I just did some pretty intense cleaning for about an hour and I am thinking we are probably going to jump in the pool later. So atleast I am moving today!

Well I guess thats my book for the day! Hope everyone has an awesome Sunday!!
