Unhappy Oh NOOOO!

Hello CC Easter Bunnies,

I haven't been around for a while, which for me things are NOT good.

This morning I found out exactly how much "NOT good" it was.

I weighed this morning and lo and behold I have gained 2lbs!

So here's the story...

I weighed on March 1st and I was at 147.5lbs. I was very pleased because it showed that all my hard work in February had payed off. I am also on the Atkins diet so I watch carbs along with my calories. After breaking the 150lb barrier, I decided to up by carbs by 5g and my calories by 100cals. Which would be fine and all, but then I started cheating A LOT! Yesterday it was the worst ever and I went to a Mexican Restaurant with friends and ate 1,700 calories for dinner. Utterly ridiculous!

So, fellow comrades, I need to get back on track. PLEASE HELP! I'm going to go on a 10day challenge starting tomorrow. Tomorrow because I am entertaining today (having a cookie baking party with a few friends) so it's hopeless. Here's the plan:
calories: 1,000/ 1,200/ 1,300 cycle
exercise: cardio/strength/cardio/strength/ rest cycle

Jammy (and all you other ladies), please feel free to give me a kick in the pants (or worse), if I am not staying POP. I haven't GAINED weight in over six months so this is VERY upsetting!

fb Not a big deal? I think any progress is a big deal. You are doing great! Keep it up and you will certainly be a rock hard beach babe!

mygrits I wonder if my town has a Y. If I ever quit this job I will certainly look!!!

sweet Get your behind back into gear!!! You've already done so well by laying out a plan for yourself. All you have to do now is stick to it. That shouldn't be hard for you cuz it sounds like you really want it. I want you to check in with us every day and let us know your progress! You can do this!

Doing good so far today. Still no move on the scale but that's okay. I checked my measurements quickly this morning just to see. And some have gone down a bit and some haven't moved but I just checked them last week. LOL!!! I just want to make sure that I'm making progress somewhere! Long day for me today. I have Job#1 and then weights and then Job#2. I hope to do 30DS when I get off tonight.

Thanks for all of the input ladies! As far as shoes go I just got a new pair about 3 weeks ago. I specifically bought running shoes because one of my goals is to be able to jog half a mile by my bday!! So I think that I might try some Dr. scholls insoles or something.

Thanks for the tips Jam I am going to try the alcohol! Never would have thought of that but I am going to try. I usually warm up for 10 mins before I lift, then after lifting I warm up for 3 mins and then start in with my intervals, is that enough of a warm up or should I do more?

Again thanks for everyones input! I appreciate it! I think I am going to see my doc soon anyway, its time for a physical so I will mention it to him when I go.

Our Y is pretty nice, there is no one at the desk from 12-8 due to budget cuts, so if you have a question about equipment or anything you either have to ask another member or wing it!! That kind of sucks but I like it because I love to take a swim after my workout!!

Nicki- HOLLA!! Wow that would be awesome!!! Lucky you a free membership!

to everyone else!!

I am off to get ready for Zumba!!

Grits, ours is a nice facility, and I'm sure folks are friendly enough in the group classes and such. It's just turned into a bit of a country club atmosphere, and the weight room is like a frickin' tomb with mirrored walls. Nobody talks to anybody else, even between sets, it's just pretty anti-social.

Angel, you posted while I was trying not to write a novel, lol. If you're lifting first, then running, that's probably plenty of warmup, but if you're having pain, something isn't right. Did somebody look at your stride in those shoes, to see if they're right for you? Like did you get them at a running store after getting an eval, or did you just buy them off the shelf? Could be the shoes, as Barb says, or it could be a muscle or connective tissue pulling out of whack. The rubbing alcohol can't hurt, and may help if it's a cramping muscle. I usually do some moving and stretching after my warm-up, to see how things feel. It's taken time, but I've learned to tell if my hamstrings are tight or calves or whatever, just by how I can move...can I get in a full squat? can I get down in a lunge like normal or is something tight and preventing me from moving like normal? usually I have to do some stretching, squats, lunge position stretching, to get everything loosened up and the joints lubed up, so I don't injure myself lifting or running. It can't hurt to ask the doc to look at it, if you're going in anyway, because I'd hate to say it's just a warm-up or stretching issue and it turns out to be something else.

Today I'm off to my sister's to do some yard work, then skating tonight. I'm also gonna pick up some baby chicks if the right ones came in at the feed store today. Then I can have my own "omega 3" eggs in my yard!

I know you're not supposed to weigh at night but I just couldn't help it and it was undeniably DISASTROUS!

According to tonight's reading, I've gained 6lbs since my weigh-in on March 1st. I am VERY upset. I'm almost in tears but I refuse to make myself get too emotional about body weight.

I usually only weigh once a month, but now I'm back to daily weigh-ins and there is no stopping it. Until I at least get back to my March 1st weigh-in number, I need a day-by-day accounting of my progress to kind of help me keep in line (the monthly weigh-in thing only works when I'm having other intrinsic motivators to stay on-plan apart from the scale- right now I just don't).

I'm sorry to just be spilling my thoughts all over the thread, but you all are really my only source of support through this weight-loss journey.

Your body can fluctuate anywhere from 1-5 pounds or more throughout the day, so I wouldn't take the higher weigh in as a serious weigh in. Think of all the food and liquids you have still in your body from the day. If you want to check yourself again just to see and track progress, definitely do it with as much of the same aspects of your normal weigh in that you can.....time, location, etc.

I bet if you weigh in this morning, you'll be down a good majority of those pounds.

Hey Everyone -

I wanted to check in before I shut my computer off to leave for the airport. Yes, I am hooked on being on here, but all of you keep me motivated! Thanks!!!!

jamsk8r - Ours is a really nice facility, but like yours everyone keeps to themselves and I do better with alot of motivation and interaction.

sweetshauna - Sorry about your weigh-in, but realize at night you can weigh much more than in the morning due to fluids. I have weighed as much as 5lbs more at night. Stay stronge and don't be hard on yourself, weigh again in the morning.

I'm doing good still and am really focus, but now I am leaving on a trip and praying I don't lose my momentum. Why everytime I am doing great and really focused does an event come up? It really sucks. Well, I will be back on here tonight and just pray my eating goes well while going through airports......ugh!

Iam down another pound - 9 to go for Easter Goal!!!

Well, I am back. It has been 2 weeks since I have been posting anything. Although I love reading everyones comments. Everyone seems to be doing so well. I went into March knowing weight loss was going to be a struggle for me and that negative thinking may have been my downfall. Anyways I am up 1 lb from when I started this challenge which is very depressing. We have 5 birthdays in March in my family that we celebrate separately . There is usually not a whole lot that is healthy to eat at the family get togethers. March has been crazy with meetings and such also that I don't get a lot of time to work out. I really need to get up early and get some form of exercise in but I am so tired I usually skip it. Anyways I just counted it and I have eaten out 8 times in the last month. Although for some reason this month people are finally starting to notice or at least say something about my weight loss which is very encouraging. Although I am a little surprised that it took losing 96 lbs before people starting noticing. Anyways I need to get back on track. I have normally do incline walking or the bike at the gym and I have been losing motivation to do that lately. Sorry this ended up being so long. I guess I needed to vent. I also need a kick in the butt to get me going again.

Don't get discouraged!!!!!! I know it's upsetting but get back on track. One weekend I went off and gained 4 lbs back. I worked hard and lost it plus more. I do think you should weigh in more than once a month. It helps you see your progress. I do weight in daily but I really pay attention to my Sunday weigh ins. Be accountable for yourself. Keep track of your cals, your cardio/strength/exercise and your weight loss.....cuz you WILL begin to see that loss!!!

I am doing good. I stayed OP yesterday. I did my weights....they went up on me on those cuz the guy saw that I was cheating a bit (he he) and now it's much harder but I know I'm now working harder. So that's good. I made $91 last night in tips when I was hoping for $60. I went home with the intention of doing 30DS but it was 1130 and I was WAY too tired. So I actually set my alarm 30min earlier and got up this morning and did it. So proud of myself!! Staying OP today. I'm aiming for $75 tonight in tips.

I'm finally away from 193! 192 baby! 3 pounds left for my Easter goal. I took my measurements cuz I finished Week 1 of the 30DS. There wasn't much change cuz I just took the measurements last week but I did lose an inch in my chest. I gained an inch above my knee and on my calf (are you supposed to gain there? I think so but not sure....guessing it's muscle??)

So I'm happy!

Congratulations Nikki. You are definately inspiring. Keep it up. Tonight I work a 2nd job but I think I will do the 30ds tonight. I have done that once in a while but never consistently for more than a week. Normally I vary my exercise. Do you work with a trainer that increased your weights? I try to cheat sometimes to but remind myself that I am only keeping myself from success.

Hey peeps! Just checking in. Had a good crossfit class today. Learned 2 new olympic lifts, then our trainer did the workout with us today. It was fun!

The scale is going mental, either because it's TOM, or because I have the heat cranked in the bathroom, since we got our baby chicks yesterday. They are cute!

Keep it up everyone, awesome progress. Sweetshauna, it's just a bump in the road, you'll start losing again.
Found out today that my sil has the P90X series. I was going to reward myself with getting it when I hit the 150's but now I don't have to buy it. I Yay!
