Thanks everyone

jamsk8r- (lol Blasphemish) that was perfect advice thanks so much! Those pilates just about killed me. Been feeling so great with all the walking and now I feel totally ungraceful and uncoordinated lol Well practice makes perfect I guess lol

Congrats on your loss as well!!

Congrats Ronni on onederland!! (lol I had no idea what that meant until now) Hopefully I am right behind ya Keep up the good work!

Grats Barb on your loss! Wow you have lost so much that is awesome!

Lori Grats Yeah I agree I am always looking at others tickers and seeing it so far to the right I am like ugh I cant wait until mine gets there lol. Yours is looking great! Also grats on quitting smoking. I remember how tough it was when I quit I never thought about using how awesome I did quitting to do this, good idea to stay focused and remind yourself you can do what you put your mind to. Feel better though *hug*

Goodluck everyone!

Is anyone making plans already for easter dinner? We always go over to my MIL's house and she makes a big dinner of ham, polish sausage, etc... I am such a picky eater it was all stuff I never ate anyways lol so it won't be really tough for me though I am sure candy will be there & I used to always get peeps eek. Not this year though! This year I told my husband that I would make a huge yummy salad to bring for everyone and then I can just bring some chicken to add to my salad. I might bring some whole wheat rolls too yummy.

Hope you feel better soon CP!

My son and I awoke early and starving today. We made a bad impression at a local diner, I think. You know how little diners have a regular morning crew of oldies who eat one soft egg and half a piece of toast? They stare at the new folk because it's something unusual.

My almost 5 year old ate 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon, toast and hash browns. I ordered a 10 egg white omelet.

You would have thought we were beasts! I about turned into one when the waitress brought a bill for my omelet - 15.00! For an omelet? Are you kidding? She remedied that after the aghast look on my face (I didn't have to say a word). I don't mind spending money on good food - but that's ridiculous.

Anyhow, we walked there - so I feel good about that. Afterward, we biked for a 15 mile tandem ride, which was nice too. We finished it pretty quickly compared to previous times, in under an hour. My son fortunately, shares my love of speed on a bike. Otherwise, I'd be scared of scaring him! We're a good team. The tandem slows me down a little, so I'm looking forward to a glorious and fast longer ride tomorrow. I have the route planned already, it's 38 miles through farm roads. Lovely!

I am so glad the weather is springy this week. So glad.

Blasphemie - Easter? Huh! I will eat one of those Reese's eggs for sure. The peanut butter ones. I'm stoked, I'm not eating sugar until Easter - so it will taste really great I'm sure. Our family does Polish sausage too, oh gosh, I love some sausage. Seriously, I don't think the day will present a problem in all, there are always options amongst all of the noise.

Hey ladies!

The crossfit class was good today. Got to learn the rower and a new barbell lift...with actual weight on the bar and everything...sweet!

I'm on my way to bed. Got up way too early and I'm determined to catch up on my sleep tonight!

Going to check out new gyms today with my roommates.

The one I am currently at is very dirty (people never clean their machines) and they always have equpiment that is broken.. so it is really frustrating that they are not putting much money in to keep it up!

and.. they don't have SPINNING!!! classes, so the new gym that I will be going to... it is very important that they have spinning classes!

I am down 2 lbs from last week, I am pretty happy with that!

Mine is going to be three in May and I was thinking about getting one of those or if he is too small just getting one of the cart things. I definatley want to do some biking this summer.

Kali- Good luck with the new gym search!

Hattie- I love getting smaller clothes!!

It's snowing here! Global warming, my butt! Well, I guess the good news is, if this keeps up, I could get a dog sled!

I got a new low again today: 177.6! Between upping the cals and the new crossfit class and being back to skating, something is working! It's still bouncing up and down, day to day, as usual for me, but at least it's bouncing lower this week.

I've decided I don't want to live without my tea entirely, so yesterday I had a cup after my workout, and another in the evening. I didn't have any problems with physical withdrawals, but I just really missed it as a little reward. I figure it's that or I take up drinkin', because some days I just need to feel like I'm doing SOMEthing bad. I'm going to keep it on the down low, like 2-3 cups a day, and will just keep on like I have been doing all year, cutting the sugar down periodically. I'm going to get some decaf tea bags, though, because I can live without the caffeine, obviously.

The high fat content of my new diet is playing tricks on the digestion process. I'm going to stick with it, though, since it's already done, and see if things settle down in a week or so. I don't have a gallbladder, so it could be related to that, or it may just be the drastic change , so I'll wait and see. If it doesn't get back to normal in a few more days, then I think I'll have to cut the fat back a little, and try a different approach. I'm feeling great, other than the GI "issues", energetic and doing good in the workouts. Yesterday I banged out the push-ups ten per set in the warm-up like they were nothin'! Still no pull-up, though, dangit!
---

FB, I see the boy got his mom's appetite! How cute is that? He's gonna be all buff and athletic like his mom, I can tell already! What were those, golden eggs? I'm glad she had the sense to fix it. It's not freakin' lobster, peeps!

Chubs, I hope you feel better soon. Being sick is always an annoying inconvenience!

KKat, keep us posted on the hunt for a new gym. I should try the spin class some time. I'm not that good on a bike, so I bet that would kick my butt and burn a million calories. Maybe next time I cycle off skating, I do that instead.

Hattie, you've got it right! Congrats on the new smaller clothing size!

Angel, enjoy your rest day! I'll pretend I had mexican food, too, since I can't bring myself to actually go there. After Xmas and my sister's bday, I was CURED of having cheat meals!

Howdy CC Friends!

I hope everyone is having a happy Sunday. I'm feeling sort of lousy, but I'll push through it. The boys seem to be pretty much over their stomach bugs and now I have a sore throat and am just bone tired. Once I get them to naptime I'm going to force a cardio session and then go get a pedicure. I figure that's a nice afternoon treat and way to relax. Wanna come with me Jam and FB? I know how much you love that kind of thing!

The scale is major teasing me right now. Yesterday I was surprised with a little whoosh and it showed me 240.8. I thought I'd be up today after a good weight lifting session yesterday, but it teased me with 240.6....a mere 0.6 from losing 100 pounds!!! This is gonna be the week!!!

FB - Thanks for the creatine info. I'm going to check it out along with that website when I have time. If you have other fav sites you check out send them my way. I was wondering about that little trick in the points challenge. I figured Jamma kidnapped you or tripped you that last day. Sounds like you and the boy had a nice day yesterday! Hope the omelet was yummy. How's the finger doing? What crazy move were you doing to break it?

Jam - Woohoo on the new low!!! Sounds like all the changes you've made were just the trick! CF classes sound great! One of these days I'll be uber like you. I'm going to have a tough time with the points challenge the last few days of the month due to family in town and a trip to NYC...how can we convince FB to eat some more cupcakes?

Lori - Great job on the 40 pounds gone...and on such a special day for you.

Blasp - Thank you. Your ticker will be moving along before you know it! I'm not thinking about Easter dinner. Holidays are pretty low key for us. We don't have family around so it's the hub and the boys. I'll cook a nice, healthy meal.

CP - Feel better!

Kalikat - Good luck on the gym hunt!

Hattie - Yay for smaller clothes!!!

Angel - Glad to hear the Mexican went fairly well. I often make tacos with ground turkey and lots of veggies at home to satisfy my cravings for it. Enjoy the beautiful weather.

Juliebee - Welcome back!

Time to feed the kiddos some lunch....catch ya later!

Grits, I like to call it global freezing. Congrats on surviving bike week!

Barb, I'm thinking I should buy some gourmet cupcakes, or a Costco box of reese cups, since she clearly has a weakness, and send them to her.

Julie, please jump in! This one has 5 weeks left, if I'm counting right, so that's plenty of time to set some kind of goal. And, yes, we will have another one after. We're addicted. Welcome back!

Blasphemer, I can't believe I forgot you on my last post. I figured the pilates might be a , and I'm glad the walking worked out after. I tried yoga once, and couldn't even make it through the workout, so I have a lot of respect for anybody who can do that and live to tell the tale!

I'm debating what to do with myself today. It is Sunday, and I am finally enjoying a quiet day after this crazy week. Have one boarding dog going home today, any minute now, probably, and then I'm considering dragging the boy to the Y. He could do the open swim thing, and I could get some more practice on the rowing machine. Also, I could play with the assisted pull-up machine, maybe max it out to see how little assistance I can get away with on single reps? I think I'll play with those, and maybe do a heavy lifting workout. I haven't had a decent lifting session since starting the new crossfit class. I think I'll go read up on the creatine now, since I have some down time.

Edit:

FB: I read the creatine articles you posted. I'm going to go for it, but there are so many! Any recommendations on a good brand? Also, the article said the pills would be a pain for the loading phase...thoughts or recommendations on this? The one article said you could mix the powder into a PWO shake, but how much is 20-30 g of powder? Do you take that all at once, or space it out over a few doses during the loading phase? Finally, are you cycling it? I'm a little fuzzy on why you have to cycle off of it...do you just reach a saturation point and it's a waste to keep taking it, is that why? That's a lot of questions for somebody with a broked finger, sorry!

Default hi and thanks!!

Thanks so much BarbPA and jamsk8r!! I'm glad to have a place to talk about these kinds of things.

Sounds like you're all kicking butt which is great!

Speaking of which, I went to a dance class today at the gym and it was pretty butt kicking. Haha. I was pretty lost for a few portions of it, but the parts I seemed to get onto you can bet I was shakin' it! I'm so thankful that dance doesn't seem like exercise.

Are there any other types of exercise that any of you do that don't actually FEEL like a workout while you're doing it?

Just a bit about me so you don't feel like there's a stranger lurking.. I turned 29 last month and I'm hoping to use the last year of my 20s getting back into a healthy lifestyle. For the past 10 years I've been alternating between healthy and not-so-healthy patterns. I'd like to blame the boyfriends I've had in that time for the non-healthy bits.. .. but in the end it has been my decisions that have brought me here. I'm a former roller derby girl and I'm trying to fill the exercise gap that was created when I had to quit. I have about 14 pounds to goal.. I want to be bikini ready this summer and avoid the bathing suit dread.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome and I look forward to chatting with all of you!
