Woohoo, Barb!!

Grits, I tried to cut out the caffeine and sugar and dairy, but since that meant cutting out my cup of tea/yogurt/fruit/milk from my protein shake, I didn't stick to it long. I have been avoiding all breads/grains/dairy other than those, though. The major dietary change I've made is to add a good "fat" to every meal/snack, like a tbsp of olive oil for cooking meat/fish, or a tablespoon of peanut butter that I'll eat with my snacks. Oh, I also added one more 4 oz serving of chicken or fish to the day.

Not sure how that works, if it's the fats, or just raising the calories (because they were too low before), plus it's early to say if it's a trend that will keep going. My trainer claims it's the fats, and says she's seen it work consistently with her clients, but I can't vouch for that. I just thought it was a weird thing to happen when I was upping the cals SO much. I haven't even had a chance to count them up yet (or rather, the motivation to take the time), but it's got to be easily around 600+ more cals in a day.

I know it's not a low-carb ketosis thing, because I'm still having sugar in my tea, the fat-free yogurt, and in the 2 fruit servings I eat, oh, plus the fruit I put in my protein shake. So, it could be some kind of fluke water weight drop, or it could be mostly fat burn. I think the next few weeks will tell more, but for now my main concern is keeping my cals up so I have energy to workout and get stronger, and if the scale keeps going down, especially with burned fat, that's just an awesome bonus.

I think that the change in workouts has definitely helped, too. The workout portion of the crossfit class is not as much work as I was doing before, but counting my pre-class warm-up, the class warm-up, and the skills instruction, I'm working out longer than I was before and doing movements I avoided before, like push-ups, lol. I'm also just back to skating, after 6 weeks off, so that shakes things up, as well.

FB, congrats on losing the bet! I'm gonna ask at the Y if they do the bodyfat testing or have an ohmron handheld tester, as I'm curious to see where I'm at. I can see that I have a ways to go, so it would be nice to have a number to compare to later on.

Shauna-I always feel like I can stay OP better at home!! The giant box of cookies,, Hmm I dunno about that one?? I woke up one morning to a chocolate cake with PB frosting left on my deck!! That damn cake/cookie fairy!! LOL

Did my UPWO today, I had to improvise a little. We had a messy start to the day, snow, rain freezing rain, so we didnt make it to the Y. But I got it done. I didnt get any cardio done today so I am going to have to do a little extra tomorrow! Yay Cardio is my favorite!

Have a great Wednesday ladies!!

I forgot to add that I signed me and Mother up for a Mothers Day 5K!! It is my first, I wont be running but we will be power walking!! I didnt realize when I signed up that the race is about 125 miles from my house, so I think we will have a Mother Daughter weekend!!

Hey Gang! Thanks for all the sweet works! Ya'll rock!

FB - A manicure? For reals? No pedi? I bet the skulls and stars would look great on the tootsies. CONGRATS on losing the bet...that's awesome!

Jam - Yep...totally get what you are saying about the tea. You are kicking some major CF butt!

I'm gonna do a little online shopping before turning in for the night. I actually got my stubborn son to bed so I have to make the best of my few precious moments.

Sweet Dreams to all!

hattie 7 months OP is fantastic!!! Congratulations! I'm so glad that you are feeling the results of your hard work.

barb Buy me anything nice?

duct You can do it!!!

So I did my strength yesterday. After I got off work I squeezed in a tan and then picked up my daughter and went home. I did a 30DS before bed and felt fantastic!!! Little tired today cuz I had to get up extra early but making it. I'm down another .5 today so I'm moving slowly but surely. Today I do my cardio, 30DS and ab routine. I'm hoping my daughter can make it so I can get to the gym. She's tired and cranky too. LOL

Hattie - WOW 7 months OP - Congratulations!!!! That might even deserve that box of cookies! LOL

FB - I think you should go for the Mani and Pedi - you deserve it! Nothing nicer than some good lookin toes! LOL

Nick - Glad to see you active on here again. Also, congrates on the .5 loss, thats awesome. You are moving toward the 80's now!!! Keep it up!

I'm doing good today. Got a small workout in, and feeling better. I'm not weighin in till Sunday, but am down from last week. Hopefully I can get some more off before Sunday. Still have to get closer to goal for the Challenge - 4 weeks and counting!

Check in later - thanks Jansk8r for the information, I may incorporate some of that into my food allotment per day. Appreciate it!

Afternoon, ladies!

Crossfit class went well this morning. Got another "private" lesson, since I was the only one who showed up today. Got to do push jerks today (fun) and knee raises on the pull-up bar (ouch!).

Did a pull-up with the most ginormous rubber band today. That will take some getting used to, since the band messes with the mechanics of the kip...mostly my hands and shoulders are in pain...hanging from a bar is not as easy now as it was when I was 8 yrs old and maybe 60 lbs, lol.

The boy and I have plans to hit the Y tonight. He wants to swim, I want to hit the Super Supplements store near there, see if they have a decent price on the Kre Alkalyn, then I will probably practice the stinkin' pull-ups some more, since I need a lot of practice there. Probably will go for some sort of workout while I'm there.

Duct- Good luck!!!

Nicki- I will let you know how it goes!! I thinks its going to be fun the town is right on the ocean so I am sure that we will have a good view during our 5k!

Chubbs- Hope that you can get outside to walk!! *fingers crossed*

Grits- Glad to hear that you are feeling better! Being under the weather sucks!! Only 4 weeks left?? Wow this challenge is flying!

Jams- Glad to hear the class went good! A ginormous rubber band huh?? Sounds fun!!

I did my LB workout today. I have really been pushing it a little more than usual this week. Not as much as the rest of you hardcore lifters but I am pushing it for me! I also did some intervals on the treadmil, it was my first time attempting to run at the Y and I was soooo scared I was going to trip or something and fall of the treadmil. But all was good and I got 18 mins done!! So another POP day for me!! GO ME!! haha

Have a great Thursday!!

I've lost that nasty 2.5 pounds I gained last week plus an extra pound for a total of 3.5 pounds this week. I'm weighing in early because we are going to see Baby this afternoon and I won't have scales for over a week. But even losing that much still only brings me a 1 pound loss for the challenge. But I think I'm on the right track now.

Congratulations retiredone!! You may lose even more by the official weigh-in day!

I'll be moving all kinds of boxes and furniture today, so hopefully I'll burn more calories, fat, anything! Feeling better than I have all week, so hopefully I am back on 'the battle of the buldge or should I say rumpus!'

I'll check in later - hope everyone has a great day!
