omgi'm so sorry to hear about your son losing his friend. that's never easy to cope with. i know the kids in ou schools here are used to dealing with losin parents (that are usually deployed), but it's harder on kids i think to lose someone their own age. hope he's able to cope with his feelings and loss with help from you and the school.

Another weigh-in and another new week of eating healthy! I did a ton of grocery shopping this weekend and am looking forward to cooking this week. A small hitch in my plans though - I found bugs in my barley and some boxes of rice yesterday so I had to clear out everything from my cabinets that wasn't infested and wait for the bug people to come on Thursday. I never had a bug problem when I lived in colder climates.

I can't believe there are only 6 weeks left in this challenge. That means the holidays are coming which are my favorite time of the year!

miriam101 11-03-2008 02:53 PM

good thing i weighed in yesterday - bad choices today...

retiredone 11-03-2008 04:11 PM

Don't forget to weigh in by tonight, everyone!

cakses 11-03-2008 05:31 PM

Well I am halfway done with my chores for the day. Did 3.25 miles in 45 minutes so I have done my cardio. I have to work so I will do the weights tonight when I get home. Thanks goodness for hand weights lol.

I am feeling a bit better today both mentally and physically. I'm not going to stress over one bad weigh in. Off to shower before work!

Hello ladies! Well I got all my Halloween stuff taken down and the house is slowly starting to get put back into order...now in a few weeks I'll start decorating for Christmas and it will be all torn up again!LOL! Our bedroom is coming along nicely. I love the colors that we chose...turned out very elegant looking. Tonight my BIL is coming over to help Kev hang our curtains up...my BIL is a math genuis, so he is very into measurements and what not...my husband not so much!LOL! I can't wait to see my curtains up...it's gonna really finish the room off. We have a few touch up spots we need to do and then it's time to decorate...my favorite part. We bought a new ceiling fan, but Kev informed me we won't be able to use it unless we want our heads chopped off...ahh no thank you!LOL! So when he gets home we'll run and return the one we bought and pick out a new one....stinks though because I really loved the one I picked out, but I think I love my head more:) Can't wait to vote tomorrow and have this whole election process behind us....it's been a stressful one. Well I just wanted to check in with ya'll. Hope your all having a great Monday:)

cakses- Thank you for starting up a new chore challenge.

Mandey- So you like the Wii Fit. My SIL had me cracking up. She was like "Wii is fun, but it's so much moving" I was like " Uhhh that is kind of the purpose of Wii"LOL! I really want Wii Fit for Christmas.

Karla- Have a nice trip with your hubby! I'm so sorry to hear about your sons friend...how awful!!

Tina30 11-03-2008 05:40 PM

Misty- Congrats on hitting the 40lb mark...what a great thing to say:)

Beth- Hang in there girl...we all have those days I swear. You'll get past it...your starting fresh so just forget about everything else and go forward! We're here for you hun!!

Cat- WTG on getting all your "chores" done last week:) Your back into the groove now!

Raindancer- Great loss...that has to feel good!

retiredone- Just think how nice it will be when it's freezing out though;)

Monte- WTG on your loss this week.

Lisa- Congrats on meeting your goal...that is great!

Chrissie-Sorry to hear about your bf/husbands? grandfather.

??? Question of the Day ???

What is the worst piece of clothing you have ever tried on in a store change/dressing room?

Well in general I hate trying jeans on...a size 8 may fit me in one pair and a different brand I may need a size 12 very frustrating!!!!! I always dread jean shopping!

mtiger 11-03-2008 08:07 PM

I just posted my weight for the week. I was down a bit, whicj is really good considering I gained 4 pounds and then lost it again, this week. Queer body. I need to get to the exercise thread and post my chores. I have been doing really well with these. I only missed 1 chore in 2 weeks. :smug:

I am really hoping to get under 200 this week. I need to before TOM makes me gain a little. Lots of people are reporting losses. Good job everyone.

QOTD: I'm with Tina, it has got to be jeans. I have a VERY small waist and trying to find pants in general, is very difficult. You can usaully shove a small child down the back. Not pretty and not fun.

Here's a toast to weigh in. :hat:

Hi Black Team,
I haven't posted for the last 2 weeks and I'm way behind. I had a biopsy 2 weeks ago on a lump, it came back negative but they said if it doesn't go away in 3 months they will surgically remove it. I've had cancer before and it scares me. Tahat and I have to find some kind of health insurance because I'm on Cobra and it expires in feb. so I'm also stressed about that.
On top of all that it's also the time of year we make farm payments and other big bank payments and there is more stress, not that we won't have the money, but just general worry. And my big problem with everything is I'm a stress eater. I guess I need to relax, but right now doesn't look good.

There has been some good, my Mom is finally in an apartment and doing good, I went there today and bought her some curtains and moved some furniture for her. She has someone come in several times a week and clean for her and she gets a lot of help.

DS called me today and we talked for almost 30 minutes. he got a laptop so maybe he will e-mail me frequently. He's in the Army and assigned to Cuba right now so I won't see him for 11 more months.

For everyone here, have a great week and I'll try to get on more often.
Bette K

Mindy- I can totally relate to the huge gap in the back of my jeans...small waist but a larger bottom makes for an interesting fit!LOL! I could probably wear 2 sizes smaller in jeans if it wasn't for my rear end;) I keep hoping one of these days I'll find the perfect jean for me....not holding my breath though:)

I just want to hide in bed because I don't know how to deal with life right now. I just posted my first freebie week, because the scale is up five pounds, and that makes me so sick. I've been eating like a pig.
Anyway, I'm not in a good place, but I am determined to eat better today and get some exercise.

 I'm right there with ya. I somehow managed to maintain this week, but I have not been exercising. I felt so much better when I was doing something every day. I just keep putting off getting started back.:(

I've got my fingers crossed for you. :crossed: This is your week!

Bette K It's so good to hear from you. My goodness you've got a lot going on. Is there anything other than eating that helps you relax? Maybe a nice lavendar bath and a good book? Or even a walk? Please keep us updated.

??? Question of the Day ???
What is the worst piece of clothing you have ever tried on in a store change/dressing room?

That would have to be the size 6 (US size 2) wedding dress the girls in the shop convinced me to try on last year when I was looking for wedding dresses. I was an 18 at the time (US 14). I don't know what ever made me think I could get it on "just so you can get an idea". Actually getting it on wasn't the hard bit, getting it off without tearing it was something else altogether! We had all three shop assistants trying to ease me out of it.

Oddly enough, I actually ended up getting a dress very similar to that one. It did look good, just should have held it up to see.

Rain Dancer: 4 pounds! Well done. That's an impressive loss.

I've had a pretty good week too. Except for my run this morning. It was supposed to be 4k, but I faded out badly after 2.5. As in, extremely nauseated and dizzy.

I always run in the morning before breakfast, so it wasn't that. My opinion is that it was the fact that yesterday was a shocker at work - a 12 hour shift that turned into 13, two very short breaks and no water. So I think I was a bit dehydrated/hypoglycaemic from yesterday, and that's what did me in.

Weight loss wise, though, it's all good. 2.6 lb! I didn't think I could drop weights like that any more. Probably water weight, but I'll take it just the same.

Cheers, chickies!

miriam101 11-04-2008 01:52 AM

Well i only gained 0.6 for my misdemeanors. not too bad, considering..

Some of us did really great this week! WTG!

QOTD: I hate trying on anything. I'm a rectangle sporting a tummy. ugh. Clothes shopping is the pits. I have NO waist, so things that fit my waist are HUGE at the hips. Things that fit at my tummy are too big on the shoulders, etc.

JasonsLea 11-04-2008 03:02 AM

 ladies.

I tried tracking my meals on My Fitness Pal cause it's where I have my ticker but no, I'm going back to Sparkpeople. I've been doing really good with tracking my meals period lately and I totally give the credit to my picture taking.

QOTD:

I hate trying on clothes PERIOD. But I especially hate trying on bras. Just all that flab....and nothing ever fits!

Me too! Then and now, always had a J Lo butt.

Well just wanted to pop in quick. I'm going to get a shower and go walk up to the voting place. That way I don't have to fight for a parking space and I get a workout in. :D We're having awesome weather here so I'm going to take advantage of it while it lasts!! Oh last night went up to the library bookstore, got 3 Winsor Pilates (2tapes/ 1 dvd) for $3, brand new not been opened. One for ab sculpting, one upper body sculpting and the other bun & thigh sculpting. I'll be checking those out later this afternoon. I always watch them before I try them. And I got '10 things I hate about you' for $1. Been working on getting my Heath collection.
Well I better get moving. I'll be back later. Have a great Tuesday!!
