Congratulations to the Blue Team for winning Week 8. And a big hearty hip, hip hooray to Modcat for being the RED TEAM'S Biggest Loser for the week.
Here's a QOTD for us. ???Question of the Day??? What is your favorite exercise/workout? |
I should probably answer that as I posted the question. My favorite workout is my circuit workout with the step/resistance bands. I found a workout in a magazine a few years ago and I use that. It uses the bands for resistance training and aerobics for the heart. I even made up a music tape with me counting down the exercises and saying when to change.

Any two left footed klutz like me can do it. :D Congratulations, Modcat! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Way to go, girl! Mindy, I hear your rant. It simply doesn't make any sense at all, does it? Sooo... yesterday. Not so good, actually. Started out all right. Then just went to **** in a hand basket from there. What is it with me and Mondays, lately? :frypan: I must, must, must do better. This is mental. And I need to find the disconnect. I still can't exercise. I did a trial. No go. Other than that... Not too much going on with me. Have a great day, everyone. :D |
Good Morning Red Team!!
I got in my 5 mile slim down dvd this morning. It's so cold here I gotta workout to warm up! ;) It was 23 when the boys left for school this morning! I'm going to move my evening walks with Bella to afternoons, when it's a bit warmer. I guess winter is finally here in Michigan! Modcat~ :high: on being our biggest loser!!! Kelleigh :goodvibes it'll get better soon! Beth~ :woohoo: on doing level 2 of the Shred! I've still not got up my nerve to restart that. :grouphug: everyone~ hope all is well. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty darn good going into week 9! We're still pretty active on the board too. Well I better get moving, got errands and domestic goddess stuff to do. Have a wonderful day!! BBL QOTD: I haven't really rewarded myself on losing weight. I've yo yoed so much. My favorite exercise is walking, either indoor or out. |
As we remember those who have died in wars past and present I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks. And to those who are now serving my prayers are with you and your families.
In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, May 1915 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. |

Scale is down to 184. Getting closer to the 183 I saw. I am hoping that I can get in some extra workouts this week since I am working less often. Starting next week I am going to have to get creative with my time and how I exercise because I will be working a lot more and I won't have any extra hours to put my son in the daycare at the Y since I will be using them all for work. So I am going to have to run outside with my son, or workout at night after I finish work, or something. Yuck. I will get it done though because my goal is so close for this challenge and I want to be as close to 170 by Christmas as possible. I want to start 2009 with a large portion of my weight loss done, so there isn't as much stress and pressure on me. It would be nice to go into 2009 at 170 and say "I will lose 20 pounds this year". Doesn't seem like an impossible task, you know?
Well I am rambling and I need to get lunch ready for all of us. DH has the day off and I work tonight, so I need to get some more housework done but of course. How come I never have a day off? :) |
TOM has struck with a vengence. Good new is, he took a pound with him already. I am looking forward to several more following suit. Cramps are killing me, but I still did Shred Level 1 and 10 min. of jogging. Yeah for me, especially since I just wanted to go home and curl up into a ball.
Cakses- Keep up the good work and you will achieve that goal. Cat- My DD is looking for x-mas ideas for me. She asked me if I wanted some of that winter workout clothing. God NO!! Who wants to go work out in 20 or 30 degree weather? Rain- Hope you get your mind straight. Modcat- Congrats on the loss and the win. My favorite workout is probably running. It is something I can do solo and that can be so peaceful. Plus I have accomplished some serious goals; like running to the end of my road. Then running a mile. Then running 2 miles. Yeah baby!! Makes a person feel good about themselves. I also love to complain about Jillian, but secretly love her. My BFF and I said today that next time Jillian is on the schedule, we are going to try level 2. OOOHHH!!! Hope we survive. Gotta go watch BL. Man I missed them last week. I took advantage of one of my rewards this weekend. My DD and I went to see "Beverly Hills Chiuahua." Very cute movie. |
Modcat ~ Congrats on being the biggest loser this week!! That is awesome!
QOTD: My favorite exercise is also swimming, but I haven't been doing it much lately, okay, I haven't gone swimming in over a month. I also enjoy going to boot camp, I always get a great workout in and it is never the same exercises, Marty always mixes it up. ******* I am happy to say that I had a great weight loss this past week. -4.2 pounds! That's the most I have been down in a long time in just one week. I did do the Weight Watchers Kick Start program which only allows me to eat 20 points a day compared to my normal 29 points a day. I do have my next WW weigh in tomorrow and I will be happy to get another star as I will now be down over 15 pounds with the program and closing in on the 20 pound mark! I am hoping to stay on plan tomorrow. I am going to be going with 2 of my friends to the New Kids on the Block concert! The three of us are all on WW @ Work so we can make sure to keep each other accountable. Before joining WW and becoming serious about this weight loss, the three of us would have easily gone to the bar before the concert and had a few drinks, but now we are looking forward to drinking water and having a healthy dinner before hand. We have 8th row floor seats so we expect to be up and dancing all night long burning quite a few calories! Can't wait!! Hope everyone is having a great week! |
 all!
I'm going back to Bama for a visit on Friday and will be gone for about a week so don't think I just disappeared on you! I'm up late figuring out how I'm going to get there and back, I'm dead broke. At this time, it's a train ride there and a plane ride back. That is unless the fares change on me at the last minute. I wonder what is wrong with me. Lately, I've just been wanting to quit the WL mindset. I'm not making any progress and it's all my fault. But I know there is no other route for me. My workshirts are a 4X and they are starting to feel tight on me. 4X! But even as I try to suck in my stomach, I'm shoveling crap down my throat. :?: QOTD: When I had a gym membership, I lived for water aerobics! |
QOTD - My favorite exercise is walking, especially long outside walks in the fall, with a good audiobook.
Andi - You had an awesome loss this week. Keep it up!! mTiger - TOM is a real bear. I always gain 1lb during TOM, but then my best loss week is usually the week immediately following, so I've come to appreciate it (in a strange way). cakses - You are doing a great job. I struggle to exercise and I have an extremely relaxed schedule, the people who do it while still working, raising a family, etc, are just amazing! |
Good morning RED TEAM. Another day to stay on plan. I've got a busy day today getting ready for my vegetarian cooking demo tomorrow night. If I get it all together today I might have enough time to go bra shopping tomorrow before the seminar starts. I've got one bra that I can step out of instead of undo. It's old and stretched and in a larger size. And another two are too big in the cups and starting to get big around the band.
Shari, don't give up. This may be the only thing you have complete control over in your life. Have a good visit and we'll all be looking for you when you come back. Ok, here's a funny QOTD for you all. ???Question of the Day??? November 12 If you were an animal what would you be and why? I think if I were an animal I'd be a cat. I like to sleep late and stay up at night. When I'm in bed I like to stretch out on DH's side when he's gone to work and I like laying around on the couch. I'm a hunter too, but not for mice or meat. I like to bargain hunt. :D |

I know how it feels, to be discouraged and want to give up. I have been there, done that. And wished, with all my heart I hadn't. Hang in there, sweetie. You are worth it. And you can do this. I know you can.:hug::hug: |
Good morning friends!
Is anyone else out there doing Level 2 of the Shred? I've done it 3 times and it is so hard! How are you doing with it? |
