Good morning everybody!!

Chiquita - I have been on WW for over a year and I use the Flex plan. I tried Core for a few days and went back to Flex. :) I use the on-line system and don't go to meetings. I absolutely LOVE being able to quickly find recipes that have the points already calculated.

I have a busy day ahead. My mom and I have some quilts to sell that I'll be listing on etsy.com . . . has anybody tried that site?

Also . . . this is VERY exciting. My sister published her first novel and MacLean's in Canada wrote an article about her, her book, and how people who used to work in hedge funds are surviving without their jobs. You can read the article at: http://www.macleans.ca/business/econ...22_87650_87650 if you are interested. Anyway, a lady from HGTV called and asked Kelly for a copy of her book so she may get to be on HGTV!! :)

Hope everybody has a great day!

Good morning ladies~ Well I didn't do so hot yesterday at the pizza buffet. I did only have one birthday cupcake though and no ice cream:) I'm moving on today though and not beating myself up over it. It was a special occasion and those come up, so I'm gonna have to learn to roll with them. I just got back from the gym and feel great. I'm so happy to be back into a regular workout routine again....feels good! I have to say the scale is kinda ticking me off though. I've been working out steady for a couple weeks now and it's just not moving down like I thought it would. The only thing keeping me from tossing it is the fact that my jeans feel a lot better. I don't know why we get so fixated on the number though...scales seriously are evil sometimes!LOL! I'm gonna just keep at it though and I know it will start coming off and I feel so much better now that I'm working out and eating better. I'm starting to see some arm muscle again...I used to have killer arms, so I'm trying to get those back! Kyle had a great b-day...he loved all his gifts. When he gets home he has the line up of what he wants to play;) All my kids get out of school early today and tomorrow and then have Friday off...their super excited! Well I'm gonna go pick up a bit and shower before the goof troop come home:)

cakses- I love Olive Garden!!! I can't believe you only ate one breadstick...that is self control. Those things are pure heaven. I think I would rather eat none then just one!LOL! Good for you! Their salad is awesome also. I don't think what you ate did that much damage....you've been working out a lot, so I'm sure you'll be fine! Great job on the portion control though...something I need to work on BIG TIME!!!!

Mindy- That is so cool about your sister...you have to be very proud of her! How neat if she got on tv:)

I got a iced tea and used Splenda, I only had one breadstick and I got the minestrone soup. I ordered the lasagna and only ate half of it but I am stuffed. I am sure to gain a few for that, but it's ok. I got it out of my system. We don't eat out often anymore so it's not going to happen repeatedly. I feel sort of bad though but not going to beat myself up over it. Tomorrow I plan on going for a run in the morning if I am breathing better. This cold needs to go away!!!

First of all, :congrat: on being this week's Biggest Loser!!! Way to go, you!

Mmmmm.... Olive Garden... *seriously drooling, here* I love the Olive Garden. The bread sticks, the salad dressing, (I could almost drink that stuff!! :D) the main dishes and their scrummy to death desserts. Okay, now I am having serious cravings.

Actually, your dinner doesn't sound bad, at all. One bread stick, soup and half an entree is fab portion control. I honestly don't believe that you will pay much for that, at all. Maybe a little sodium bloat? You can wash that away with lots of water. :D

I hope that you are feeling better. I caught my son's cold and am walking around with a sore throat, runny nose and am developing a very nice little cough. So, I feel for you. :smug:

I am wishing you all success in your quilt sales.

That is very exciting news about your sister, indeed! Congratulations to her on publishing her book. It sounds as if this may open up a whole new world of opportunity to her. :D

Ugh! I am seriously brain dead, this morning. Hit the Post Reply button before I finished yakking. These to midnight shifts my son is pulling have got to stop. They are wrecking my sleep patterns.

Anyway... Hi everyone. :D

Okay... So we didn't win the weigh in. We are still working hard and making our lives better and healthier and that, in the long run is what counts the most. :)

I am managing to stay on track, this week. A couple of small off line snacks, but nothing damaging. I now have my son's lovely cold, so exercise has gone by the wayside, again. I don't think it is smart to physically stress myself with this health double whammy, right now. :dizzy: Darn it! I don't like being sick and injured! I am not used to it and it's really ticking me off.

Well, I have to motor. Time to go stress myself out, some more. I'll talk to you all soon. I hope that you all have a wonderful, successful, on track and happy day.

Later. :D

Well as predicted I am up one pound. But that's not too bad. I drank three glasses of water before bed and I was up three times last night to pee haha. So today I will focus on water intake and good calories and a good workout.

I forgot that I had an appetizer. I looked up the cals on The Daily Plate and I was at 730 total for dinner and I was patting myself on the back until I remembered the da**ed appetizer. My DH ordered it when I wasn't paying attention, and it just magically showed up at the table. I figured it couldn't be that bad - the bruschetta - since it's mostly tomatoes. WRONG! It must be tomatoes dunked in LARD - 200 calories a piece and I had 3. OMG! I told DH don't order that again, I am trying to stay OP and I just can't have that in front of me. Grrr....of course he said he didn't hold a gun to my head and tell me to eat it. So I am taking responsibility but I am still mad at him.

Still sick over here. The cold has moved from my sinuses down to my throat. I have had a cough the whole time but it wasn't much of anything. Now its starting to sting a little in my throat and I am coughing more. I can't wait for this to be gone. I have upped my vitamin C in hopes of scaring it away.

Hope everyone has a great day. I am off to make my OP breakfast then hit the gym!

200 calories EACH PIECE????

There must be some mistake. Did you check multiple websites?

OMG . . .

Catsgetnhealthy 10-29-2008 12:48 PM

Hola Teammies~

Cat~ :congrat: on being our biggest loser!!! You're doing awesome!! And great portion control at Olive Garden. With the brushetta, it must be the ciabatta(sp?) bread that is high in calories? That is some yummy bread! ;)

Tina~ happy belated birthday to your little one. :woo:

Rain~ sending you some get well and healing vibes.

Sorry I didn't contribute to this week's weigh in, but I'm back and will contributing for the rest of the challenge. I'm working hard to get back to where I was, workout wise. I tell ya not doing it regularly I lose any strength I may have gained, kwim? I need to go update my chore list, I'm changing it to 45 min walks. :)
Everyone have a wonderful wednesday!! Woohoo humpday!! :D
Talk to you later. :grouphug:

chiquita623 10-29-2008 01:51 PM

Thanks for the info Mindy. Andi also is on the flex plan and she said she really likes it too. Maybe I'll give that a try first and if I find it's too burdensome I can always switch. I just know that I need to have something to focus on right now so maybe this is what I'm looking for.

That is super about your sista's book. I read a chapter a few months ago and I really enjoyed it. Let us all know when she gets on TV so we can watch her!!

OMG . . .

I checked a few. Most of them weren't clear about portion size. Most said 1 serving was 200 calories but didn't say how many calories in the whole thing. I couldn't believe that my app calories were almost as much as my soup/bred/meal calories but I figured the tomatoes were drizzled with something evil!!

cakses 10-29-2008 02:37 PM

Ok well I didn't feel like going all the way to the gym, so I worked out at home for an hour. Did 2 miles and a nice lower body workout and weights. Watched last week's TBL so I am all caught up since I watched last night's too. I am hoping with a lot of water and cardio I can at least lose 2 pounds this week. Maybe this is a new pattern. This month I have lost 2,5,2,5 and Monday coming up would be a 2 if I stayed in that pattern. That would be fine with me. I know every week can't be a 5, especially with me feeling so crappy lately.

Well I am off to do lots and lots of house work. I try to catch up on Wednesdays since I am so busy on Mon and Tues. The YMCA is having a Fall Festival tomorrow evening and I am taking the kids to it in their costumes, whcih by the way are a size too big (bad me for waiting too long to get them). I have to laugh because they keep all their costumes for dress up so these will just last longer! My 6 year old still fits in his Mr. Incredible costume from when he was 3, it's just short in the legs :) So DS#1 is going to be Batman and DS#2 is going to be Optimus Prime. I have no costume - maybe I will put a t-shirt on that says "34" and when people ask I will say that I dressed up as my lost weight! LOL!
