But really, you did do awesome with portion control and moderation..... mamatoni--that's right, keep your eye on the end result and get back on the wagon! Tomorrow is a new day....:) Cat--thanks for the info! ladies!
Same ol, same ol around my way. I sent in my application for school today. Missed the deadline for the fall semester so I will have to go in the spring which is actually better, gives me more time to prepare and get some stuff together and done. I'm EXCITED! Several on my close friends are going to the same school, including my roommate. :grouphug: I played my first game of pool last weekend. It was awesome, I played like 5 games and laughed my *** off at my weak shots. I work both Thanksgiving and Christmas so I'm happy (time and a half, ya baby!). I've decided that I will buy myself the Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas. So psyched! :spin: Amany is sending me a belly dance dvd and I'm so hyped about it! My next door neighbors want us to take an actual class so once we find one and I get the money, I'm going! I also decided to try rock climbing. Seriously. I looked it up online and a college close to my apartment has a rock climbing wall so I'm calling them tomorrow! I'm trying to push myself outside my box, ya know? Try new things. Cat, my soon to be new neighbor, is teaching me how to meditate. Her and her sister Susie are so awesome (they are the ones that want to do the belly dance class). I've also started taking pictures of what I eat with my digital camera. Sounds kinda crazy, I know, but it seems to be helping. I hate keeping a food journal so this way, I can keep track without writing anything and worrying about losing the paper/notebook. No way will I lose my camera! Plus, it's helping me to stop eating at work. I mean, I can't just whip out a camera in the middle of the hallway and take pictures of food! People will think I'm a loon (more than they already do)! :dizzy: |
Shari, that's too funny about the camera and the digital food journal...but also will help with portion control too. WTG for finding a creative way to manage your food intake!
Well, I've updated the chore thread and my redteam chores days ticker and blog. so i think i have everything updated. nw i'm going to bed....its 1220am and i have to be up by 7am to get abigial ready and then get the kids headed to schoo at 730am. yikes! i'm gonna workout in the a.m. and shower and run errands (grocries and oil change and get gas - gas is $2.13 here!!!!!) and then a nap so i'm ready forhubby to comehome. oh and need to clean house and do our laundry so all i have t do tomorow is his clothes :) lol need to clean my laptop keyboard with the canned air and hope my keys stop sticking so much...grrr! |
Hi Everyone!
I can't seem to get a hold of the 2nd book of Twilight - New Moon. The store told me the sell them faster than they bring them in. Hmph. I caught a rotten cold and cough and I'm so down because my friend died suddenly (at 33 years old) and things are just crazy here. Trying very hard to stay OP. It's been pouring here, and being sick and melancholy - no exerciZe. :( Hope things will pick up soon. There are so many choices for exercize DVD's I don't even know where to start. I guess I'd like to know which workout is the shortest and most effective. Any input?? |
Miriam, Sorry about your friend.
Sorry I've been awol, but trying to get refocused so I can help the team, may be still stuck this week as I have to lose what I've gained before I can lose again, but hoping/planning to see the 130's before this challenge ends. Shari, I love the food journal, may need to use that idea. |
armywife--you have soooo much energy, how do you do it with staying up late past midnight and then getting up early?
miriam--I had read about your friend on another post--and your cold isn't helping things. I really feel for you.... I'm not sure about the dvd's as I don't use them, but I was going to try the extremely popular (at least according to this board) 30 day shred soon, just to see what that was all about...... jasonslea--haha, probably a very good way to limit what you eat! It would be for me.....:) I keep wanting to try the belly dancing class at my gym, but it is so late in the evening I haven't gone yet (it's either 7 or 7:30pm). Let us know how that went....... |
Well I did it. I joined Weight Watchers last night. Going to give the flex plan a try to see if I can get a grip on things. Their scale weighed me higher than my home scale but then again I had all my clothes on where at home I'm nekkid when I weigh. I'm going to continue using my home weights for this challenge since that's the scale I started with. Anyway, I am just so excited to see if this makes a difference in my attitude even though I'm still in the "honeymoon period", I'm excited. Just wanted to share. I'll be back later.

Good morning. Well I lost that Olive Garden pound. I think this week is going to be a low loss week for me. My body just can't keep dropping a lot at a time. But who knows, I still have 4 days to go. I have a parent/teacher meeting this morning about DS's bad behavior so I am off to get ready for that. Not looking forward to what they have to say - I am worried for him :(

But yea busy day and its 54 degrees but doesnt feel as cold as it has been. and we're to hit the upper 70s today. I need to go, so I can feed us breakfast, then we're gonna go over to my friend's house to sell her the 5t outfit that doesnt fit abigail (her 5 y/o DD is more peite (sp?) than my daughter, who is all leg) ;), then get gas and oil change for my van and then get groceries, then home to put them away. by then it'll be DS's nap time so i can put food away and change clothes and workout and shower before he wakes up and DD gets home from school (since my neighbor does after school pick up). then will clean house and make sure everything is in order before i get kids to bed after dinner and baths, since they'll stay here and sleep (neighbor is gonna watch them for me) while i go to get DH whenever he gets here to the base. but oddly enough, with exception to getting hubby from company and the oil change - this is a basic payday errands day for me. we are always busy these two days a month ;) as is everyone else here...lol so traffic is never fun. :) LOL |
Okay so I totally feel like I am letting you all down. I ended up being almost 3 lbs yesterday at WI. I am not sure what the deal is. My body feels out of sorts this month. I don't know if that has to do with TOM being out of sorts or if it is the added stress. There is no way I am going to lose my goal by the end of the challenge, infact I am over my starting weight for this challenge. So discouraging but as much as I think I should just quit, I don't think that will solve anything. So I am sticking around...I hope that is okay with you all?
Oh I did use a FREEBIE this week. |
Chrissie - we all have our ups and downs. i've had my fair share of losses and gains this challenge also. i seem to be doing a switch off. one week i lose, then next i gain, then i lose....it's a cycle/pattern. according to the pattern i've had this far i would be posting a gain next monday, but i'm trying to avoid it as best i can. good luck!

Good morning ladies! Just a quick hello today. I have all 3 kids parent/teacher conferences today!! Not to worried about them though since I haven't had any letters or phone calls from the teachers. I do want to talk to my oldest sons history teacher. Joey got all A's and B's except in History he got a D+...not going to fly in this house! They only had one test though this quarter and he didn't do so well, so I know that brought his grade way down. I can look online now though at the teachers grade books, so I told Joey every time I see a zero for a missing assignment that is 1 day he is grounded! I just hate that he could of been on the honor roll if his history grade was better. Ohhhh change of subject, but I have been in the process of doing my room over. The people we bought the house from were wallpaper freaks. So yesterday I spent the day stripping wallpaper...let me tell ya that is about as fun as cleaning bathrooms!LOL! My arms and neck are so sore today. I did make the gym though and got a nice cardio workout in. I need to get moving though. I wanna pick up the house before I have to head out to the schools. Hope you all have a wonderful day:)
Mandey- I bet your sooo excited to see your hubby! Enjoy your time with him:) Cakses- I didnt' think the Olive Garden would do you in. Hope the meeting with your sons teacher goes well? How old is he? I have a 12 yr. old boy and a 5 yr. old, and the 5 yr. old can be a bit of a handful at times...although he never acts up at school just at home!LOL! Chrissie- Don't give up on yourself!!! You can do this and please stick with the team...we're here for you! Laurie- I hate WI's on different scales...they all weigh me different. I go by what my home scale says! Good luck with WW:) Miriam- I'm currently reading New Moon. I bought it at Wal-Mart for about 8 bucks. I love the 30 day Shred....it's 20 min. but gives you a good combo of weights/cardio. I'm always sweating by the end!!! JasonsLea- My mom is taking a belly dancing class and LOVES IT! I almost wet my pants when she told me though I have to admit. I just was seeing my mom dancing in my head and it put me over the edge!LOL! She said it really works her out though. Let us know how ya like it! mothermavis- I just got my self refocused with exercise a few weeks back, and it feels great to be back on track:) |
I havet even left the house yet...yikes! and now i'll be dealig with the lunch rush. omg not fun! but i need to go get it over with. although i did remember to call the post vet and get our dog an appt next week, he's due for his annual rabies and such and get more heartworm meds. so fun stuff. my neighbor has agreed to watch alex for me so i can wrangle the 100 lb 'lap dog' to the vet ;) lol that should be a workout in itself, i'll be sure to wear my HRM to see how many calories he makes me burn ;) LOL
