we got her. i'm so excited!!! we're all in love with her. the owner did ask that we send her a pic of Sam and our dog to her so her daughter can see that Sam is in a happy home where she can run and play and not be in her kennel all day.
so as soon as I can get the two of them to cooperate, i'll post a pic here too. :)

Did my weights that were due on Monday (upper body), so technically I am just behind on one swim and lower body weights which I will make up at some point this week :)

I don't normally post pictures (I hate them most of the time) but I wanted to share my halfway pics. They are over on the mini goal photo album. I am freaking out that I actually posted them with my face - like scared for my life someone I know is going to see them and go OMG Cat....WTH? I guess I need to let go of that "before" picture as a part of history I refuse to ever go back to eh? Anyways, go take a look if you want. I'm off to die of embarrassment now!

I just had a look and you look great. What a difference in the before and after-just as pretty but so much smaller now.

I am so excited to post a loss this week of 2.8 lbs. That makes me pretty happy!

retiredone 11-06-2008 09:21 AM

WTG Chrissie! That's as good a 3 pounds any day.

Ok, I have another question for everyone.

???Question of the Day???
November 6
What dietary changes have you made since you've been on your weight loss journey that will remain a permanent part of your life?

For me I've changed from eating white products to mainly brown. I use brown rice and whole wheat flour almost exclusively for all recipes. I even stopped using white flour for making cookies and some cakes.

QOTD: I would have to say that the changes I have made since I started my weight loss journey would have to be lighter versions of things, like skim milk, diet soda, light mayo, light cheese, and etc. I am more aware of the food labels now as well.

I have had a serious 3 week slump...and am happy to report that I am back on track!!!! All it took was a few ladies hitting on my husband in a bar on Halloween. It didn't bother me that they were hitting on him (I think he is VERY attractive:D ) What bugged me was that I was sure they were more attractive that I am. I really want to him to be able to think that those ladies aren't half as attractive as my WIFE!!!

I'm glad to be where I am and am feeling better about myself.

I've eliminated all sugared drinks. I don't even like them anymore. I also always eat breakfast now. Before I would only eat breakfast on the weekends.

QOTD 5th: Most flattering outfit? My Gap Curvy jeans :)

QOTD 6th: I pretty much cut out all caloric drinks. They are considered a treat for me. I pretty much only drink water.

HI EVERYBODY! YAY for all of our losers!

It's bee a crazy few weeks but i do have a few cool things to report:

1. DBF was sick for the past three weeks and I managed (knock on wood) not to catch it! with work the way it's been going that would have been bad bad bad!

2. Watched the NYC marathon this past Sunday and was soo very inspired! I even pretended to be in the marathon when i did my run on monday - LOL

3. Tuesday was not only election but also another great national event - my birthday - ha! but the bigger news is DBF bought me a DRESS! I looked it up online and it said to buy a smaller size - well being the boy he is didn't read the full description - he got my regular size - and guess what?!?!? IT IS LOOSE!!! I put it on AND the shoes (he bought me shoes!!!) and let's just say i got his FULL attention :carrot:

So i't been a great week full of NSV!

Now for the QOTD: I too have reverted to using lighter products - fat free, diet (only in moderation) and then i have also learned to get what i am craving and then it helps with preventing later binges - i also am using strickly brown rice when cooking and adding more veggies!

FINALLY back to 185, thank goodness. It's TOM this week so I am hoping for another pound or so by the end of the week when I am less bloated.

My son has a follow up appointment today for the ADHD. He's been off his medicine for 8 days now and he's so much more himself. He's having major attention issues of course but his teacher even said she'd take him like that over the medicine. So I guess we will see what the doctor thinks. My main concern is for my son to thrive in school. I can deal with a hyper kid, but I don't want to see a really smart kid fall behind because he can't focus on his work. I am going to start researching changing his diet, but it's a HUGE undertaking because as I have read before it's casin and glueten - milk and wheat which seems to be in EVERYTHING! So I am trying to avoid that if I can.

Well I am off to get some stuff done before work. Never a dull moment here!

If I am going to have any hope of reaching, then remaining at my ultimate goal, pretty much all the changes I have made and am working on making will have to be life long. Some of the biggies is dumping sugary soda, drastically reducing the amount of sugar in my diet and learning not to sooth my hurt feeling with large amounts of food of any kind. (That one is still very much a work in progress... :D)

I hope everyone is having a great, on track day, today. Mine is going pretty well. I ended up on the high end of my target range, yesterday. But I am dead on track, today and feel better for having fed myself extra protein, yesterday. I am getting my water, too. :D

It has gotten a lot colder, here. Down in the twenties, at night. My house was chilly-brrr, this morning when we woke up. My dog and my cat spend a lot of time curled up in front of the heater. I wish I could fire up the propane burner for them and for us, but at over $700.00 for a tank of propane, it is small electric heaters for us, this Winter. Cosy, yummy-warm gas fires are a luxury we simply can't afford. :(

Wow it has been forever since I've been on to chat :( I'm sorry and I promise to make it better. I guess after my vacation and gaining weight I was depressed and not ready to chat. I have turned that around though and I am back to chat! As of this morning I was back to my pre-vacation weight and I hopefully will be smaller tomorrow!

This week with Weight Watchers I am doing the Kick Start plan which is supposed to reset your metabolism and you are supposed to lose a bunch of weight on, but you can only do it for one week. I am normally supposed to eat 29 points a day, well, this week I can only eat 20 points a day. Yesterday was my first day and I didn't eat even close to my 20 points, I was weigh less... needless to say, when I got home, I pretty much crashed! Today I ate my full 20 points and then went to work out and still have energy. Needless to say I learned my lesson!

I did go to boot camp tonight. It was a great CARDIO workout. I ended up burning almost 600 calories in the hour which is what I normally aim for. One of my friends thinks my HRM is off though so this weekend I am going to go searching for an HRM with a chest strap to prove that my HRM that I use now is not off and that she just slacks off! LOL We always kid each other about that because we work out together at least 4 days a week normally and I always burn about 200 more calories than she does according to our HRMs.

On a good note, in the last two days I've had three different people comment on my losing weight! Two co-workers...one of which I hadn't seen since I started losing (he moved to a different building and now moved back to the same building I am in) and said that I "looked different" of course a guy is not going to say "Holy :censored: you've lost weight" It was great to see that he noticed since we haven't seen each other in such a long time. It's making me excited for Christmas because a lot of my family has not seen me since last Christmas when I was only down 10 pounds...Considering I should hit the 50 pound mark this week, it will be a big change!

Okay, I'm off now to read some of what I've missed on. I'll be back more and posting and being supportive. Later!!
