Ok I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I am still losing weight this weekend. Unbelievable! I'm sure not complaining. I am now a week ahead of my goal for the challenge. I am actually going to start to try to lose 3 pounds a week instead of 2 so that I have a 5 pound "cushion" for Thanksgiving. I am not a huge eater for Turkey Day, but I do like to have a glass of wine and dessert and it messes with the scale. So if I am ahead a few pounds by then cool!

I am still sick - it's all sinus congestion and a small cough but the sinus issue is making me feel woozy at times and super tired overall. I sure didn't get up this morning to go to swim practice LOL. I am thinking I might head to the gym in a little bit and run 2 miles though. Nothing mind bending, but enough cardio to keep this awesome loss for the week.

I have 10 pounds to go until I am at the lightest I have been since 2006. 10 pounds seems a ways off but I am excited. I was 178 when my husband came back from his first deployment in Jan 2006. I felt so much better about myself and how I looked in clothes, but I dropped the ball once DH was home and settled and re-gained it ALL back. By the time we moved to Washington in May 2007 I was 220 pounds again. I don't want that to happen again ever!!! I like to exercise and as long as I stay active and don't eat like an idiot, I don't see this ever happening again.

My size 14 jeans I have been wearing are starting to get looser. They are the biggest 14s I own - they're Gap Curvy, gotta love the spandex/jean blend! But the fact that they fit comfortably now and are loose in some areas is great! I have a few other pairs of jeans in my box of smaller clothes but I think I am going to have to be closer to 180 to fit into them and even then it depends on where I lose the weight. It's weird because I am totally a different shape this time when I am losing weight. I just hope my thighs get the notice to leave one of these days because they won't get smaller even though everything else is!!!

Keep it up Cakes! That's awesome! You've broke through and your body is responding!

I know that I have to make it past the Dreaded 10 day mark in order for my body to really catch on... today is day 7!!! I'm going to KEEP ON GOING!!!

Andi - are there 24 hour fitness places all over? I wonder if there is any around the areas I'd like to be in the states.

They aren't all over, but there are quite a few. If you go to 24hourfitness.com you will be able to look up the locations. Go to the Non-Members Section --> Clubs --> Find a Club. It will bring up a map of the US with the locations. If you have a zip code, you can narrow it down by zip code.

Good Morning Red team! Sorry I've been MIA, but I've got some pretty major family crisis going on in my camp and needless to say weightloss and trying to support other peoples weightloss is just not even on the radar for me. My focus right now is trying to keep my sanity, and of course making life as normal as possible for my girls.

I'm going to continue to keep results for the Team until Chelle wants otherwise, I just cant in good conscious drop the ball on her like that. Eny has been doing a great job keeping the board flowing, I hope that others will step up and help her, its a BIG job and the more the team works together the better of everyone will be! I know some of the former Black team members have some fantastic exercise challenges too.

Ya never know maybe in a few weeks I'll be **** bend on getting this weight off!! I sure hope so, but right now, I couldnt care less about it...well thats not entirely true is it!

On an bright note, I got that job!! I start on November 11th for a public accounting firm.

Just know I wish my Red team all the success you deserve!! I'll be watching! Keep on rockin team!!

Mel, you need to take care of you right now!! Congrats on the job!!

Primm, he works nights so I usually am asleep by the time he gets home but when he goes to bed, he goes to sleep instantly and doesn't start snoring til around 3 or 4 in the morning. Usually I wake up and then it's hard to go back to sleep. I hope the sleep study helps him too!!
I hope you can get into a steady pace and then the weight will come off. It's hard when they bounce your shifts around.

dkneec19, lol, I just don't buy it!!

miriam, Hubby had tried the snoring strips, but it seems he adapted to them and found another way to get a snore thru!!!!

Tina, yep, the snoring and staying awake because of it has be very listless. I hope I don't end up like your in-laws and have to have my own room!

Today we're off to another corn maze and then to the movies to see Saw 5. Hope it's better than the last one. Hubby and I decided to dress up for Halloween so we are going as a bride and groom. He's wearing my wedding dress, and I'm wearing his suit. He's so hairy it's going to be funny seeing his chest hairs hanging out the from. I'll take pics.
Have a great day!
Debbie

This put things into perspective for me. Yep, I lose slowly, but I am losing every month. Someimes my head needs to convince my emotions that this is working and that I'm okay.

QOTD- There are several things Jillian does that I can't stand. Side lunges with a shoulder raise, all the plank stuff and yes, the Burpees. Did I mention I have a love/hate relationship with Jillian. My DD teases me that she is going to get rich and buy me a weekend with Jillian. Someone would be dead by the end of that weekend. Maybe me, maybe her. :smug:

I also lose weight really slow now. When I first started I lost #30 quick with NO problem.. but the last #25 I've had to FIGHT LIKE HECK for!!!!!

I have a :love:/:mad: relationship with jillian too! I LOVE  her on the show - and secretly only want her team to win. I LOVE the results that I get.. but let me tell you - during those 20 mins of 30 day shred at any level - I LOATHE HER!!! I want her to fall off the face of the Earth! If her and I had a weekend - I'm not sure who'd win.. but it wouldn't be pretty!!! ;)

It RAINED here yesterday! That hasn't happened for a while :) We've got a lot of water crises here... So it was much needed, to say the least...

Eny - great weight loss for the week! Keep it up! Also - good for you for discussing with your hubby your feelings and needs. I have a hard time doing that, and kittyfoot around it, only to have it backfire in my face. Hmph.

Thanks! I know a lot of it was water weight loss from TOM leaving, but I've honestly worked my BUTT off this week! Only one more day ON PLAN and I can get my hair dye! I haven't dyed it in awhile because DH wanted my natural color for the wedding... well we've been married for 3 weeks - and it's time to go back to the "real" me! The one that dyes her hair every 6 weeks since I was 12!

I Have Very Exciting News!!!

:wave:Hello Red Team!

Guess what? I can jog an entire lap without stopping! :running:

I shocked myself this evening. I decided to finally start wogging again (walking and jogging in intervals). All I'd been doing for the past 2 months is talking about it, and thinking about it. Tonight I actually did it. I am so pleased with myself that I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

I first tried in March of this year. I was only able to jog a quarter lap the first week, then a half lap the second. Then I got sick for about a week, I tried the following week, but kept throwing up and never tried again.

It felt so good. I started to get "that feeling" again that I used to having when I would jog in my early 20s. I'm excited to how I will have progressed in a month.

I now I might sound kinda goofy now but, if any group of people can appreciate my news, it's you ladies. Thanks for reading! :)

modcat44 10-25-2008 08:35 PM

Congrats Amany! :cp: I totally understand where you are coming from. I recently started "wogging" as well, about 2 months ago, and have been trying to do a 5K at least twice/week, once on tm and once outside. I have been steadily improving and just today ran the first mile without stopping for a walk! Sooo difficult! But, we did it! What is the distance of your lap?

Mel-- You just do whatever you gotta do, and check in when you can. I hate family stress. 'Course, I hate job stress, and money stress, heck, ANY stress is bad, except exercise stress, I guess! :dizzy:

Eny--I'll try to think up some ideas to PM you. You do such an awesome job but maybe I can help out. :chin:

Well I had a good WO, ran 5K at gym and did serious arm and ab stuff. I'm starved--have to go get dinner ready now! TTYL....

Wow, a mile without stopping? That's fantastic! :cheer: I can't wait to be able to do that. Part of the reason I'm so excited is that I've been frustrated that I can't fall in love with exercise. In my early 20s I exercised all the time and loved it. In those days, I particularly loved to run. I'm really happy. If I keep this up, I will eventually need to find a place that has an indoor track. Once it dips below the 20s here (and it will), jogging outside is going to difficult.
Each lap at the track by my house is a quarter mile by the way.

Amany 10-25-2008 11:38 PM

 Are they drunk?? Why are they doing that?

miriam101 10-26-2008 01:57 AM

Hmmm - Blue team seems onto something. Uhh - LSD? LOL

Amany - wtg on the exercise improvement! I'm going to start couch to 5 K - I really am, LOL

Eny - what's your natural color and what color do you dye?

joylove26 10-26-2008 04:01 AM

I didn't do particularly well today with my food or exercise. Jared's still really clingy from being sick and I can't seem to get him to let me get anything done. Of course, I haven't been doing really well at all lately. You know, I've been really disappointed with myself. I was on such a roll before summer, but just can't seem to get back on track for any amount of time that will get my weight moving down again.

Hopefully, something will kick in soon to get me doing what I need to do again. I've still got so far to go to reach my goal.

Enygirl 10-26-2008 08:45 AM

Mirium - My hair is a natural brown... I call it mousey (see avatar pic) - and I've dyed it every color of the rainbow except for green. I stick to more natural colors now... I'm thinking a nice deep Chocolate brown... almost black. :)

Joy - I'm sorry the little one is sick. :( And that you can't get back into the swing of things. I'm going through that too.. I'll do great for a week, then slcak off completely! I need to keep going.

This morning was frustrating... I'm UP #2 from yesterday! I have NO IDEA WHY!!! UGH!!! I know there's natural fluxs and what not - I'm just glad it's not my weigh in day! I guess It's my body's way of saying that I can't just sweat out the sodium.. I have to flush it too! Ugh - I'm the WORST water drinker in the WORLD!!! I've lived with the theroy that's there's water in my Diet Coke!

Qotd

QUESTION OF THE DAY!

What is your BIGGEST reason for wanting to lose weight?

My biggest reason for losing weight is my daughter. She's 6 1/2 right now - and I want to see her when she graduates, grows up etc. In January of 2006 (I was 25) I was at my highest recorded weight of #241... and for someone that's 5'2" that's more then #100 overweight! My Dr. told me that if I didn't do something that I wouldn't make it to see Hunter finish High School - let alone college! I started my change right there. I got down to #210 quickly, but I've fought for the other #30! Now I seem STUCK!

I never wanted to be the "fat mom" that was too big and too embarrassed to do things with my daughter... I don't want her to be embarrassed to be seen with me becaus eof my size. Embarrassed because I carry her baby pictures in my purse is COMPLETELY exceptable!
