Cat - Don't feel too bad about the Oreos. Your control may not have been perfect, but then you only ate 5. I don't know about you, but at my "hey-day" I could eat half a pkg. So give credit where it is due!
|
LOL that is true MonteCristo - I used to gorge myself back in the day. But it still taught me that I am not ready to have sweets just yet. I still miss them too much. Once it's no big deal to have 1 cookie I won't have an issue with it so long as I am eating right and exercising. But for now, I need to just say no!

Thank you everyone, for your well wishes. They really mean a lot and help me to feel better. :D  :D
I am fine but I am taking it easy for a bit. I am enjoying my vacay from housework but I am used to being busy and am having to find ways to fill my time. My computer is getting a little more use and I am knitting more. :smug: After a few days of not perfect eating, I am back on track. I was slowly slipping into old bad habits and needed to nip it in the bud. It is amazing how fast you can start to spiral out of control if you don't watch what you are doing. A very good lesson for me and a wake up call. I have a lot of work still to do. Kellybones, I am sorry about your employer. Cancer sucks. You are not being selfish for worrying about your future and your job. That is only natural. I hope that it all works out. ArmyWife, seriously... They come around and inspect your home keeping? And critique you? And tell you how to run your home? ***snort*** That'd be the day... It is good that they do repairs and change bulbs and so forth, but, let's face it. You are trying to run a home, raise two children and go to school all while your husband is far away. They can't expect a perfect looking house. A few muddy paw prints and toys on the bedroom floor of a 2 year old's room are normal and to be expected. I hope your inspection went well. Cakses, that is my way of dealing with sweets and cookies, too. I am not yet at the "one is good enough stage", so I stay far, far away. One day, it will be different. But not yet. :D Lane Bryant, Woman Within, Romans all carry bras in a huge range of sizes. Even for those of us who make Dolly Parton look as if she has been steamrolled. :D |
Hi all!
I've had a very good OP day - rotten in all other aspects though! I really need a break. Because I'm the sole breadwinner, I don't take any vacation days and I always work overtime and forget just about work - so many other strssers in my life that I NEED OUT! For a little while. I'd really like to breathe some air from the motherland, hehe. So I'm calling it my sanity trip, haha. Meanwhile - I found very good priced tickets - through Madrid but who cares - only to find out that my passport is expired!! I went to the embassy and they were so rude to me there! The guy at the window would NOT let me go into speak to anyone - and that was that. I'm still fuming..... On a better note - I'm taking out the treadmill to watch TBL. Between mono and the holidays - I haven't been on it for AGES! I wont over do it - maybe 20-30 minutes brisk walking. Baby steps... Besides - to get to the embassy today I had to walk for over 20 minutes... in the sun! |
hey red team. Checking in really quick. We are getting ready to head to Chicago for the weekend. We will be staying in a hotel and already told my husband that I will be hitting the fitness room:D

I completely understand the sole-breadwinner/mommy/wife/work overtime/etc...etc..etc.. I wish I could take a break, but I can't afford it..time wise or money wise! and with DD in school, I just can't pack up and leave her :( Right now I'm on the verge of breaking down!!! Wasn't there an old commercial that said "Calgon take me away"? I'd give just about anything to be able to get away!!! |
Hi Team,
sorry for being MIA all week but just haven't been getting too much sleep because of hubby's snoring every night. He did go to the doc today to see what can be done and he has to wait for the hospital to call him to come in for a sleep study. Sleep apnea runs in his family and the doc says it's hereditary, so that's probably what's going on. In the meantime, I'm getting up in the middle of the night, freezing, to go to another room to sleep. Not fun. I've just been out of it as far as exercise goes. I'm hoping that I just at least maintain for the week. I promise to get with it this coming week. Sorry for the bummer post, but just wanted you to know what's been going on. Have a great friday all! Debbie |
Quick post tonight since I have a ton of things to do still.
A few notes: Puppy is adorable, thanks for all the good bra advice, I too am ready for a vacay, hope sick or ill people get to feeling better, and keep up the good work girls. Tomorrow is my weigh-in at school for our BL competition. I hope I do well. I have been working out pretty hard for the past 3 nights now. Hope it helps. Chat with everyone more, later. |
Eny - 5:30 am! Wow, I admire your commitment. I get up at 5:15, but that's because I have to to get to work on time.
Rain Dancer - Take it easy, won't you? My husband had a torn intercostal muscle a few months ago, and it was pretty painful from all accounts! Just rest up and let nature take its course. mtiger - Not far to go now! If you're anything like me, when the scale hit that magic 199.9 mark, I got off and on 3 times just to make sure! I'm plateauing a bit at the moment, but there's NO WAY I'm going back over 200. I'll amputate a limb before I'll let that happen! kellybones - So sorry to hear about your boss. And don't feel bad about worrying about your job. I'm sure he's worried about you as well. ggmugsy - Good luck with the court case. And like the others said, don't stress about it too much. It will be obvious to anyone with half a brain that your kids don't need to be dragged away from their current living arrangements. He's just being silly. cakses - Hope you feel better soon! There's nothing worse than a bad cold to mess up your day - you just don't feel like doing anything. Debbie - to you. Sleep deprivation is the pits. Can you go to bed before he does so you are asleep before he gets there? Or does the snoring wake you up anyway? Good luck with the sleep study - I hope hubby gets the help he needs. I've hit a bit of a plateau. Bouncing around the same 2-3 pounds for the last 3 weeks. I'm doing Week 5 of the C25K plan, and staying on track with my eating. I've worked night duty the last 2 weeks, so doing 12 hour nights and then recovering and trying to get into a "normal" pattern of sleeping a couple of times a week is probably messing with my metabolism. I'm just going to stick with what I'm doing for the moment, and hope that things improve when I'm working days again, from next Monday. I really need a different job(read: one with normal hours!) Cheers chickies! |
Hey RED! Well my problem binge visit with the family wasn't too bad--already back down to within half a pound of where I was when I left. Thank goodness! I worked out with the trainer yesterday for the first time in about 10 days and today--oh boy! Does my upper chest hurt, and my ABS! I had done a little running, but the upper arm and ab stuff had slacked off, I guess. :strong:
Ww have had a heat wave here and it was 94 by my car today! So I went to swim this afternoon as I was off, and a little sunning. That kind of heat is relatively rare here, so it was nice! :beach: kellybones--so sorry about your employer and your potential job loss. It's rough out there for employment, for a lot of folks, me included. miriam--where are you planning on going? You just reminded me I need to renew our passports--they expired this month. Not that I am able to go anywhere for awhile........:( crazy4--we were there last week-end. It was perfect beautiful fall weather. Enjoy! :flow1: cakses--I know how you feel, I just resolved about 2 days ago to try to forgo sweets for 3 weeks. It is like an addiction, and if they are around, I can't help eating them! Luckily for me DH doesn't really have a sweet tooth. It's just work and well-meaning neighbors I have to watch out for......:tape: blueyedlvrgirl---your puppy is sooo cute! Yeah they can be a handful, though.... Andi--you look fantastic! Made me motivated to keep slugging onward.....:lifter: Rain--hope you aren't laid up too long. Maybe you can do some walks soon? :running: Armywife--I was thinking the same thing! They actually "inspect" your housekeeping? Sheesh!! You didn't join up, just your hubby.....:drill: Tina--hope your son's report cards were good ones....:crossed: Debbie--sleeping with a snorer is so much worse than it sounds. It really disrupts OUR health if we can't get a few hours of quality sleep every night.... ggmugsy--I am hoping things look up for you in your dispute over custody. Why is it the ex's turn out to be such a**holes? Seems to happen all the time....... Eny--gosh, I think you have taken on so much, no wonder you are at wit's end! Only thing I can say is remember, stress is helped tremendously with exercise--if you can find the time to do it! I'm not sure I could do it so early in the AM though, even if I am a morning person.....Good for you to try it that way, though. :carrot: Monte--yeah, I could really put it away also, before I learned "portion control". Come to think of it, I still could, if I let myself......:dizzy:  to all I missed! |
primm - I understand the plateau! I've been stuck between #183 & #189 for 3 MONTHS!!! I know that it's my fault for not pushing through it... it's like I'm subconciously scared to reach the #170s - but consciously I'mg DYING to get there!
I haven't decided if I'm actually going to do the 5:30 am workouts. I have been able to find time everynight since Sunday to work out at least 30 mins... so if I keep this up hopefully I'll have a BIG - no - GIGANTIC loss for the RED TEAM tomorrow! :crossed: :goodscale: :goodvibes: Especially, since I was one of the 15 that had a gain last week #3!!! (TOM & Really BAAADDD choices!) Hopefully I have dropped that + some! (#4 would be GREAT!) I'll let you all know in the morning ! :D I think tomorrow I'm going to attempt to get up at 5 am, and see how exhausted I am. If I can keep up my workouts at home, and still do my Tuesday evening walks w/ my friend while our daughters are in dance class I think i can do this. I've never made it past 10 days on plan with exercise... I need you girls to keep me accountable!!! I just finished Day 5!!! :yay: |

Guys, seriously. How do you handle halloween candy??!!!?? I'm finding myself indulging, and I want to stop. I feel a loss of self control and it's driving me NUTS!!!!!!!! I'm gonna attempt to wake up at 5 tomorrow for some yoga. I think I can do it!!! (that is if my warm covers don't talk me out of it) Hope everyone has a good friday! |

It went well, they changed the lightbulbs for me that needed changing, and I called maintenance to put in a work order to have someone to come fix the air duct that is hanging over my laundry room door and it rubs the door whenever I open it to do laundry. They will be here in the morning. I also need to call them about a work order about the downstairs toilet that has cracks inside it....maybe i will get a new one like my neighor did ;) lol But it was a great excuse to finally mop the downstairs....just need to go buy more swiffer wetjet pads to keep up the clean floors :D lol I am gonna watch the Jari Love dvd in a few minutes and see if I can do some of it to get my 10 minutes of cardio in tonight before bed. and maybe do more of it tomorrow, after the maintenance workers leave here ;) lol |
get ripped jari love wasnt what i was expecting...so will try to remember to mail it back tomorrow and wait for the get ripper 1000 jari love. maybe that is the one i wanted to try...we'll see next week once it gets here.
