Help! I have started to to the 100pushup training. Here is the problem. The few that I can do...get this..my stomach still touches the floor when my arms are pushing up! Do I keep doing them like that until my stomach keeps shrinking and doesnt hang on the floor. Or should I put this activity on hold and do something else for a while? Then try again when it feel like I can actually do it with no stomach touching?
Hey everyone!
I hope that every one had a GREAT weekend! Boy, was it hot! Yesterday I went to the Wild Animal Park and of course, there was record breakingt heat...102! Luckily, there was a nice cool breeze! I even managed to not get sunburned. I drank lots of water and stayed within my calorie range for a workout day. We did walk around for about 5 hours, so I figured that should count as a workout. I don't even if it is still the effects of dehydration, but I was up a little this morning on the scale. After drinking all day today, walking at lunch and working out at the gym today, I am really hoping to see 2xx this week. On Saturday I peeked at the scale around 11, after eating breakfast and it said 298! I am hoping I will see that number again this week at my normal weigh-in time.
Well, I better get back to work! In accounting the end of the month is a nightmare and the time is upon me, so I have a ton of work to do! Everyone have a great day!!!
Posted my weight this morning. Down some finally which is good considering its TOM. Yeah, maybe I will finally be moving into the 240's.
I'm not sure what the push-up challenge is, but can you do wall pushups in the meantime? Seems like that might be better for your lower back as you build strength in your shoulders and back muscles. Just a thought!
Julia, do you feel it in your arms or elsewhere when you do the push ups? If so, your upper body and core are still going to be impacted by doing the push ups, so I say keep at it!
I am NOT doing the strict low carb I was doing before and I think the transition has influenced my loss...ONLY 1 pound this week. I just really wanted to eat FRUIT and couldn't eat what I wanted doing very low carb.
I am going to keep an eye on my cravings and so on to see how I fare, but for now, I am back to just whole foods, vegan calorie counting for the most part.
I will eat BREAD for the first time in 6 months! Not just ANY bread either, it's kalamata olive bread, locally made and honestly the best bread I have had in my life, anywhere. I hope DD and DH eat more than their share of it as my goal is to savor and enjoy ONE piece with dinner. These are very small pieces (think artesian loaves, smaller than a traditional loaf but bigger than a baguette) and I am going to try to see how it goes, how my body reacts to it and if it triggers any cravings.
At weigh-in today I posted a weight loss of 3 pounds. Not too shabby. I'm only 3.5 pounds away from the 50-pound milestone, and not being classified as overweight anymore, and one-derland. Since if I continue OP this will probably happen within the next week or two, I have been starting to think of what I could do to celebrate. I was thinking of going to my favorite pizza place and enjoying a slice of pizza (just one) with my friends as a little celebration. It's a little treat thats something to look forward to but not detrimental to my progress. I miss pizza, I haven't eaten it in forever.
Don't forget to weigh-in today everyone!

Just looking at our numbers. did we really have 63 people on our team? Now it appears that we are down to 40 somthing. Wonder how the teams are fairing????
Nixmom - so sorry about your fur-baby! I don't think I got over mine until I healed enough to get another one.
Misty - don't you hate when the scale fluctuates? Every day it's like, well, what's it going to be? It's like my crack in the morning. I have to pee and get naked to weigh pre-shower, as I am convinced the water droplets will add weight, lol. (Okay, I am kidding about the water, but I still have to be naked.....)
Glitter - yummm, pizza! That is a good reward for your progress! And you know, if you have it with veggies or turkey pepperoni it isn't all that terrible. Sometimes I will pull off 1/2 or all of the cheese if I really want more than 1 piece. Plus, if you know that's what you want, just up your exercise a little that day. This way you can REALLY ENJOY it and not feel ANY guilt. You deserve it!
Julia - I think that as long as you are doing them correctly you should still do them - I mean, it isn't like your tummy is supporting your weight, is it? You can feel it in your arms??
Soul-that bread sounds fabulous! Let us know how it was!
Less than a month until my first concert of the summer.....I love going and dancing and being crazy and forgetting I have kids, lol! Now what the heck do I wear?!?!?!?
Ceegee--I do the same thing...get up, go pee, get naked, weigh, take a shower. After all the walking I did over the weekend and being totally OP, I thought I would at least see 300 again! So frustrating! Oh well, Monday's weight is always off for me. At least tomorrow is Tuesday, hopefully it will be better! I am trying to get a ton of fluids in, maybe that will help.
As far as logging exercise, when you guys started this month, I was already doing beach hopping and knew I didn't have the time to keep track for 2 different things. When the new month starts, I think I will join in and see how I do. July is right waround the corner!!
Glitter--50 lbs is a big accomplishment! You deserve a celebration! On Friday, I passed the 20 lb mark, which made my day.
Smurf--You have everyone guessing...What is it????
Julia--I am going to start the pushup challenge today, I have a feeling I will have the same problem (we are about the same weight). As long as I can feel it in my upper body, I will go for it!
Everyone else--Hope you are having a wonderful day!!!
I had super busy weekend logged on for a little bit yesterday but not long had to get ready for races. Oh and the races well last night my son was leading the race and got a flat going into corner and up and over the car went....He wasn't barrel rolling you know when you see cars that just roll and roll and roll he just rolled the once and was out of his car probably within a minute the officials who we all know from when DH raced for 15 years came up and said your son is way to fast getting out of the car... (Karl said he just wanted out to get car ready to get back in the race) They pushed the car back over and he started it up got the tire changed and came back out on track starting in like 16th but finished 7th.
Starting push up challenge today as well but like I stated earlier I can only do 2 real push ups to start.
Glitter- Wow 50 pounds that is AWESOME!!!!
Don't have alot of time for personals so I will try to log on later but probably tomorrow we brought my Best Friends motorcycle home as she lives in big city, so she can come here to practice riding. She had her license for 4 years but just now got something to start riding alittle.
Wow Sorry to leave you all in suspense for the weekend. I left town and my computer and totally forgot that I had left you all hanging...
SO why am I in love and actually not minding that TOM is here? I bought the BESTEST MOST AWESOMEST yoga DVD ever. It is actually made for menstration and it works for my killer cramps. I am on day 3 of my cycle and have not had to rely on pain meds once!! My cramps usually warrant at least 3 doses a day. When I tried it last week I knew it was going to be good and I also knew that it was almost TOM so I took it with me on my trip and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! It is called "quick start Yoga for weight loss" I bought it off of ebay for $3 + $3 shipping. It has a weight loss segment and then a reguvinating segment to do when you need a pick me up and during TOM.
My trip was nice 180 miles in the car with 3 kids by myself wasn't too bad, but my oldest gets car sick if she falls asleep and dispite all my efforts she slept-I hoped it would be different this time, but as soon as we got to my mom's house she puked and spent the rest of the night and Sunday in bed sleeping it off. I was able to go to my sister's baby shower and hang out with 2 of my 4 sisters-thanks to my wonderful dad!
So I know I haven't been keeping track of my exercise with 2 trips and week of sickies I have forgotten to update. I have done fairly well with the exercise though considering. I will have to pick back up with the exercise challenge next month. I do feel stronger though and hopefully I will be able to meet my goals this month.
