Prayer request -

My 19-year-old great-nephew was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He gets treatment (maybe surgery) next week (on his birthday). We need prayers that the treatment/surgery will work.

Sending prayers Lynn. I don't know if you know it or not but there is a "Prayer Warrior" thread here. Just thought that I would post it here for anyone who is interested. Lots of prayers http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/fait...tinued-30.html

Wow, this has been a rough year for the Goldens! Friends, siblings, in-laws, parents, pets.... lots of loss this year. I suppose we're "at that age", but it still is hard to take. Bless us all!

Oh Gayle, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. I know it is hard to lose our parents. I am praying for you to experience God's peace.

This HAS been a difficult year so far for so many of us it seems. I know that I have never felt my age like I have since Dec. It's been one thing after another but still nothing like many of you have experienced. I'm happy with my life but I've always felt young for my age and when you hurt or are sick and weak, you don't feel so young no matter what your age. I went to the doctor today and he said I am better but I am not "out of the woods" yet. I'm to finish the antibiotics and if continue to hurt, go back to doc. The pain is very mild though now and he said I can eat as tolerated. If I have multiple infections, the next step is surgery so I really want to prevent that.

I told him I wanted to cancel my regular diabetes visit (next week) because it's not fair to judge me when I've had this infection. I was joking (sorta) and he laughed and said he wouldn't do that but to push the appt off for a month. I've been getting some really good numbers, but not all the time. Today I was lower than usual in the AM but really high after lunch. So I continue to go up and down. After the doc visit, we stopped at Costco to do our coupon shopping and by the time we got home I was wiped out! That's the most I've done in a week. The meds make me so dizzy and that is part of it. I hope to be well enough to watch my dd in her marathon on Sunday.

I am very disappointed with Sears! In Feb we bought a dishwasher from them. We have always bought our large appliances from Sears and except for my kitchen storve which I don't like (not really Sears fault) we have never been disappointed with them. First I'm not crazy about the dishwasher but there are some good features so decided to keep it anyway. Second, they did not give us any paperwork or phone number for the 3 year warranty we bought. Third the top rack keeps falling apart and I found the store number and ordered parts TWICE and haven't received them! When I called the first time they said they could see the order and didn't know what happened so they were reordered. This time they can't see either of the orders in their systems. I explained about the warranty and told them this time I want a tech to come out. She said it was time for someone to check the dishwasher over anyway because I have such a good warranty, so arranged for one to come on the 11th. Hopefully they will show up and with parts ready to fix it. I can't pull the top rack out very far or it will fall apart and is not easy to get back in. I'm sure it will work out but can't say I'd buy from them again. Esp since this is TWO large appliances I haven't been completely happy with. Oh, and they said they would email the warranty info to me but so far I haven't received it. Maybe tomorrow.

Between that and dh trying to get his hearing aides from VA (1 1/2 years of paperwork, phone calls (a lotta hold time!) and several visits both locally and across the river, finally saying he had been approved and even being fitted for them...they are still stalling and now saying we may make too much money even though they have known from the very beginning how much we make). By now I just want it to be over whatever the decision, we will deal with it.
Frustrating as these things are, we still have a great life and I shouldn't really complain... but I still do don't I?

Lynn - So sorry about your great nephew. How old is he? I have prayed for him. Keep us informed.

I have just joined and saw Bobbi your height, starting weight are about the same as mine. I have battled for years with thyroid problems and know it has messed with metabolism, but after nearly collapsing 10 days ago and ending up in Mayo I have to figure out thyroid and bp meds....doing better so starting with drinking more water and eating better...then will add exercise as my bp dropped after a mile bike ride 2 day ago.
