I'm here to join the March thread. I didn't make my February goal, but I'm still going to set my March goal for 1200 minutes. That's 60 minutes a day for at least 5 days each week. I've set myself a VERY aggressive goal of being down at least 50 lbs. by May 1st. I didn't work out yesterday, but I worked on my feet for 8 hours. I'm not counting it in, but I wasn't just a slug either and I want you all to know that. Today I did 90 minutes at the gym--60 on the treadmill and 30 on the weight machines. So the new group total is:
I'm on a break from my cardio for the night, as my legs are still sore. But today, Susan and I were out shopping for like SEVEN HOURS. And a good portion of 5 hours was walking. We probably walked about 8 miles. Not going to count it towards my total or the group total, but it was good exercise!! And it lasted most of the day! lol
Okay, well I take that back. I felt lazy, even though my legs were sore...so I did the warmup of the workout 3 times through, which came to 10 minutes. It was fairly low impact, so I just did that. Hopefully, I'll be feeling better by tomorrow. But 10 mins is better than nothing, right?
Kayley - 10 minutes is definitely better than nothing!
Since I stayed home because of the snow I had to cancel with my personal trainer for tonight. So, I decided to do some extra at home.
First I tried a new DVD I got from Netflix - Tahitian Cardio. It was OK, but I just don't have that kind of hip control. However, it was fairly low impact and generally do-able, but trying to coordinate the whole thing made it so I didn't feel like I really got my heart rate elevated. That was 30 minutes.
Second, I did a strength training video with Susan Powter – remember her? I picked it up from Amazon Marketplace about a week ago. I remembered really liking the fact that she was always talking about good form and modifying. It is a good video - again do-able, but it was definitely challenging. That was 45 minutes. That makes my personal total 120 minutes.
You guys are doing great, but I'm not! I've had the flu all week and haven't yet done any exercise. I know I can make this up (esp as things calm down for me a lot the middle of the month), but I can't help but feel like a slug! Send me your positive vibes!!
Wyllen - I don't have many strong vibes towards exercising lol, but I can send you plenty of get well vibes. Take care and concentrate on getting better, dieting and exercising will come back soon enough
I have 30 mins of Salsasize to add to the group total, I can't believe how much it goes up before I am ready to add my little amount lol.
I went to the gym tonight and did 5 minutes on the elliptical and 40 minutes on the treadmill (although I wasn't able to keep the speed I ususally like to). My new total is 165.
