Got local cukes yesterday. I adore cucumbers sliced and marinated in just apple cider vinegar with some black pepper tossed in. I peel the cukes first. I know most folks don't. Then I discovered I didn't have any apple cider vinegar so I was back in the market this morning.

No one will ever call me organized.

Lots of recipes in here lately. Marinated cukes sound great, Judy, I'll have to try them. How long do you let them soak?

Heather, is DH making whole grain bread?

My favorite new way to make chicken is nut-encrusted. You pound the breast flat, dredge in beaten egg (I use egg beaters, works fine), then dredge in finely crushed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans; whatever you like will work), saute just a tiny bit on each side in olive oil, then finish in the oven. It's not the lowest calorie way to prep chicken, but it's good fats.

I turned in my grades for my labor-intensive class today; have a few weeks of no class to get a lot done, including regaining control of eating and exercise. I'm hanging on to at least a little exercise daily, but I want to get it back up where it belongs.

Hang in there for everyone who's stuck in the heat.

Angela

We are back in a house with internet service - trying to remember when it became a necessity like air conditioning and a microwave.

Food has been good - weekend wasn't perfect but feeling so much better than a few weeks ago.

Still trying to convince myself to start exercising again. I think the heat has me!

Angela, I love vinegar so I give them 48 hrs. Most folks think 12-24 hrs is enough. You can also add sliced onions and/or a clove of garlic. Glad your finally getting some time to devote to YOU!

I love the cukes done that way also judy. Mom will throw in tomatoes just before serving. YUMMY!

I put up a few dozen ears of corn yesterday. I ate it for lunch and dinner but nothing wrong with an ear of sweet corn.It was really good.

My digestive system has started to complain about all the fresh produce. I am going to take a few days off from it for now.

My scales are slowly going back down...slowly is the key word here!!

Have a great day and stay cool if your in this heat wave!!

The heat has a grip on me, I have no energy to do anything outside, I finally gave up on most of my pots. The pool is refreshing only because we've been having to add so much water. Rain is forecast tomorrow with a drop to the mid 90s which sounds wonderful. Food has been good but without the energy to do much I'm not recording it. Tired of being a slug - lol.

Angela -- He'll be moving to more healthy, whole grain breads, but started with white.

We are getting another 100 degree day today, but it rained twice in the past day, so at least I don't need to water and the plants can handle one day of heat. Hopefully into the 80s after that for a while. That will feel cool!

Nice here today. Low in the lower 80's. Big storms are expected tonight. We need the rain so badly but heavy rains will just run off.

Well this week I'm doin' the Happy Dance which really surprises me considering I crashed and burned at the end of last week and threw a pity party before dragging myself back OP. I went to WW this morning praying that I only caused a small gain and instead I lost 2 lbs and am now 75 POUNDS lighter than I was 13 months ago.I'm hoping that I'm over the latest rough spot and will be able to stay OP without any drama for a few weeks.

Remember: Don’t put food in your mouth when you already have food in your mouth!

Judy that is a great achievement - I'm so proud of you.

Yesterday was another good food day - I'm not calling it POP because I didn't record everything.

We got a touch of rain overnight - maybe 15 or 20 minutes. High today won't hit 100 - first time in July.

I am here Deb. LOL! Sweating up a storm this morning. Hate this hot weather. I just ironed a basket of clothes and mopped my kitchen. There was not a dry thread on me. I jumped in the shower asap and washed my hair. AHHH! That feels good!

Food is so so. I had to go back to low potassium. Dr. said to stick to it until I see her next month. I can do that!

Got to go...I hear a nosie I can't identify, like someone trying to get in!

I checked it out, nothing. I guess I am just jumpy. DH is out of town until later today.

Have a good day girls. Ruth

I have had a good week with just a tiny bump in the road. Im hoping to keep it together over the weekend! If we stay home I will be fine. If we go out...?? I will try and think it out and then stick to my plan.

We are only suppost to be about 95 woohoo! Its such a nice change from the 105 we hit yesterday.
