203 this morning.
BLECH.
I think I’m retaining water, actually. My whole relationship with the restroom has been questionable lately.
DH and I are contemplating giving up soda at home. We’ll have soda when we go out and at work but not at home. I think we’re trying to save money and drink more water. We’ll see if this idea flies.
So my mom and my younger brother are coming to visit for Thanksgiving. They will be here for two weeks. I’ve laid down the law in the past with my mom that she’s not allowed to smoke in the house (secretly hoping to inspire her to quit smoking). Now I’m laying down a law that states that under no circumstances is there to be any frivilous junk food in the house. I don’t want it in my house. Period. No chips, cheetos, cookies, anything she’s been known to buy and leave behind in my pantry. Her argument? Well you can’t possibly expect your 12 year old brother to go 2 weeks without junk food. Uh…Yes I can! No but really, sisterchicks, this is my train of thought. It will be the holidays, pumpkin and pecan pie up to your eyeballs. We often go out when they come to visit. I believe dine-out food should be classified as “treats” regardless of whether or not it is sugar coated. And finally, sisterchicks, the number one reason for my new law, I want to prove to both my brother and my mother that life does go on without junk food in the house. My brother is 12 and currently weighs more than I do. My mother does little to halt the pattern of destructive behaviour. I’m hoping he also sees that I’ve lost the weight and hopefully they will both become inspired.
Failing that, I’ve thought about allowing an “as long as I don’t know it’s there and it leaves the house with you” clause.
but really.
So I wanted to dress james as charlie brown for christmas. It was perfect. James is pale, has little hair, and a big round head. Do you have any idea how hard it was to find a plain yellow t-shirt around here? Ridiculous! and to buy a 2 dollar shirt online ended up being 16 dollars after shipping. So finally we gave up and we went on a mission today to find him a costume. And we did. On sale. Half price. James is going to be a penguin.
today:
weigh in: 203 on the dot. Ick
lunch: LC 4 cheese canneloni
dinner: chick fil a sandwich and side salad with fat free honey mustard dressing
snack: Skinny Cow Chocolate Ice cream sandwich.
what say I drink a gallon of water and take some midol? That oughta cure the bloat.
Rob thought I looked “kinda hot” yesterday so I took some pictures.

smirk.
off to bed! (after the water)

Ooooh, love that shirt! The color makes your eyes pop. Where did you get it, if I may ask? I’ve been looking all over for a scoop neck with cap sleeves…
Hey, Girlfriend, did I ever tell you I love your blog titles? I usually read the blog and then scratch my head trying to find a connection.
It’s such a shame about your brother. Maybe you can be an inspiration to him but it’s got to be tough on him, having so many treats in the house. I’ve learned not to buy anything for the boys that I really like. I don’t like peanut butter and they do so if I buy anything, it’s usually Little Debbie Nutty Bars. We usually don’t have any sweets in the house, however. If I get a craving for something sweet, I eat a bowl of cereal or some light yogurt. I keep a box of peanut butter protein bars for the boys and they’ll have one occasionally but they really don’t like sweets all that much. With them, it’s carbs.
I really like frozen yogurt but it’s dangerous for me because, even though the calorie count isn’t terrible, I’ll eat it until it’s gone. I can polish off a half gallon in three or four days.
Andrew, one of my grandsons, didn’t know much about health and exercise until he took a Health and PE class. He really admired the teacher and likes to chat with him after school or in the cafeteria. The man is quite an inspiration to him. I’m always hearing how Coach Johnson says, “yada, yada” and then Andrew takes the advice as gospel. If Coach Johnson says it’s good, it must be good. Coach has inspired Andrew to eat more vegetables, take frequent walks around the neighborhood, and drink tons of water. It would be great if there were someone like that in your brother’s life.
BTW, you’re looking fabulous!
I’ve been drinking more water, too, and it’s really helped. I think that’s a super fabulous idea especially if you like water. You can even get those flavoured waters if you make sure you get the ones without any sugar.
You look amazing. <3
