So a new low weight this morning- Shocking! We'll see if it sticks. Really want to get four more pounds off by the end of the year. Did well today and did not overeat. Didn't make a calorie deficit either but good for the week so far.

Okay, so I though I did well yesterday. After posting, I overate. So disappointed in myself. So far today I am on track. I was also disappointed to learn my favorite newly discovered diet soda has caffeine in it. This explains some of my insomnia. I was switching around supplements because I wasn't sure what was causing it. Now I know. I was enjoying one in the evening so now I'll have to find a substitute.

For lunch today, I very carefully picked out what I could eat and ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. It was takeout. I got home to discover my sandwich had neither ham nor cheese on it. So frustrating, my careful planning went out the window in that moment. The rest of the day was downhill because, apparently, I lack the ability to say 'no' to myself. It is not looking so good for the official weigh-in tomorrow.

In looking at my food log, I have realized I really need to eat more fruits and veggies. Currently, I have a grade of 'F' for getting enough.

I had a coat I really liked but the zipper broke on it and it was an XL. I was also gaining weight at the time so I bought a new one just like it but in a 2XL. It has lasted several years but now the zipper has broken on that one as well- such a bummer. I was rummaging around in my closet for another coat I could wear and found one that I had forgotten I bought. However, I found an older coat that still had a ski lift ticket on it from 2011. It was a size large. I don't even remember being a size large then. I do think I have worked my way down from a 2XL back to a regular XL. So that is something.

Well, I will definitely lose something this month. I'm waiting to see what things look like on the scale tomorrow before I report. The rec center is still making decision on what type of services to offer after December 7. I will keep checking the sign up list to see if anything opens up.

Went over on calories. I have some challenging stuff in the house that needs to go. Plus, my sweet tooth is acting up again. It is as if my body knows I have lost a little bit and it would like it back. I am sleeping better now that I cut out the extra caffeine.

Okay I have a choice on -3 lbs for November or -1 lb. When I first started being successful, I would automatically pick the larger loss. Then, I hid the skids and would pick the lower loss to hedge my bets and protect my fragile ego.

Today, I am going to pick the larger loss based on some, perhaps, ill-fated logic. If I pick the larger loss, then I only need to lose 4 pounds in December to drop to the next 'decade' for my weight. This is a stretch goal for myself. I have lost four pounds in a month only once since I started losing weight this go-around. Plus, it is December, a month automatically pre-built for overeating. I'll give it a try though. If I chose the lower loss, I would need to lose 7 pounds in December to get into a lower tens weight which is even less likely.

So happy to be on track today. I ate a ridiculous amount of junk food for dinner and my carefully laid plans fell by the wayside. I must have done well earlier in the day because I am still within my calories.

We got our Christmas tree today. We splurged and got a GIANT one. We've been planning for three years to buy an extra large tree this year. It is so beautiful. The cat is not sure what to think about it!

I do finally feel like I've lost some weight and my clothes are getting loose. I thought when I got to this weight, regular obese instead of Class II obese, I would feel a lot better and my numbers would look better. I was wrong! Hopefully the next ten pounds will do it. I was looking back at my tracking and my numbers looked better when I was doing IF. I just find IF is too hard with being home almost all of the time. Pre-Covid, I had the IF built into my schedule in a way I didn't really notice it.

The other thing about the weight I am at is- it is the I'll never be here again weight. I know I am not the only one with this type of number. This is the weight I was when I started my first moderately successful weight loss attempt like twenty years ago. I thought to myself then oh- I will never see that weight again, I will never let myself gain again. I was so very wrong. So here I am at that weight and celebrating being here.

Calorie deficit tracking below is for my basic plan of losing a half of a pound a week, not the advance plan of trying to get to the next lower tens for my weight.

Two steps forward one step back. Here is my current irresistible temptation. Be forewarned- some of you will look away in disgust, others will gasp in horror and a few will feel nauseated. But there will be a couple of kindred spirits out there that will think - yum!

Spoiler

I have a problem with frosting, more specifically with red frosting. I do think it is addictive. Must keep it out of the house!

Welp, I have been overeating a lot. If I manage to maintain my weight at tomorrow's weigh-in, it will nothing other than a gift. I must get back on track as soon as possible!

Ordered the photo Christmas card this year and it came out really nice. I was worried because I haven't taken many pictures this because of the lock downs and COVID restrictions.

Thanks for the good luck! I'll take any ounce of it I can get- no calories (haha).

565...

Another day on this journey and I'm hanging in there. I was thinking I have a good shot at making it through the day successfully. However, I then realized I have an equal shot at screwing it up. Did really well during the day- no snacking. Planned a tasty dinner. It should also have been filling but was not. I've been staving off the cravings all evening. I have a plan to get through the rest of tonight. I just don't like it. It quite frankly feels like punishment. I really just want to eat what I want without worrying about it but that is what got me into this mess. It is unlikely I could ever do IE. My body lies. I am the most hungry just after I have eaten. The last bite always tastes the best to me not the first. It is so backwards! Stay tuned to see if I can keep my calorie deficit for today...

Well, well, well....look who showed up for another day. I was indeed, thankfully, successful yesterday by the skin of my teeth. I was inexplicably near tears at one point. I guess I don't take 'no' well even when it is myself saying it.

In much better shape today and should be able to stay on track between now and bedtime. It's not easy though because I am still fighting cravings. In fact I was so hungry when I was about to eat dinner, I was waving my arms in a way that is reminiscent of what a hungry baby does. The same thing happened tonight as last night. I was hungriest after I ate my largest meal of the day. How does one stand up to that long term? The weather was warm enough today to get in a bike ride. Snow on Friday though.

Appetite is still being a pain but I muddled through for today. We made a meal tonight that uses bean sprouts. Weirdly, I have not been able to find bean sprouts, canned or fresh, in the regular grocery store for about a month. Bean sprouts are not one of the things we stocked up on- LOL. We have a fancy Asian supermarket near us and they had two types of fresh bean sprouts. We usually used canned for this recipe but it seemed to come out extra tasty with the fresh bean sprouts.
