My head felt a bit better today and I am hopeful my headache will be gone tomorrow. During previous attempts to lose weight, I would consistently get a headache when I was doing well. It was a very specific headache that had two points that really hurt. I called it the ice pick headache. One point on the skull and one point inside the head about the distance of an ice pick apart. The headaches I've been getting during this round of weight loss hurts in just one of the spots (on the skull). Improvement I guess.

We started taking down our beautiful Christmas tree today. Even though I will miss it a lot, one of my cats will miss it more. There is a heating vent behind the tree. We closed it but there was still plenty of hot air making its way through. I put a pillow over the vent, much to the delight of my cat. She has slept on it everyday. She will pop out from behind the tree when she sees something interesting going on. We also hung a bell really low to the ground and she seems to like ringing it on purpose.

Our other cat will probably be very happy to see the tree go. First off, she will not get ambushed as much. Secondly, she will be able to reclaim one of her favorite places. Usually we have a piece of furniture over the vent where the tree is now and we will move it back once we take the tree out. The piece of furniture has a cat size space underneath it and our cat loves to sleep under there when the heat is on. We call it the cat sauna. When the cat hears the furnace click on, she hustles over to her special spot.

No headache today, so Yay! Scale was kind this morning, so double Yay! It was on the cool side here today but nice and sunny. We've figured out thermometer that feeds the weather app we use is likely on the west side of a building. It reads low in the morning and high in the afternoon. Walked the usual 2.4 miles.

Also to clarify regarding my post yesterday, my cat will get ambushed less because the ambusher (the other cat) will not longer be able to hide behind the tree and pop out.

As predicted, my cat is missing our Christmas tree. When she first ran in after the tree went out, she skidded to a stop and looked quite confused. I'm certain her plan was to dive behind the tree to her spot and wait to ambush the other cat.. We haven't moved the furniture back yet and later I found her sitting on the bare floor against the heating vent. I at least put her pillow back, probably to the chagrin of my husband who had picked it up.

Calorie overage today definitely tied to emotional eating. Had to do something yesterday that is tantamount to my own personal H-E double hockey sticks (wish I was being theatrical but am not- being totally serious) for someone I love a great deal. Clearly, I love this person more that emotional pain that the activity causes me and actually, there is some accidental physical pain involved also. The activity is extremely difficult and I've been told impossible but I persist anyway out of pure love. If I fail at it, it is highly visible so very high stakes. The final diet collateral damage is an overage for the day but not for the week. Tomorrow is official weigh-in day.

Scale did reflect what a great week I had. It one pound less than last Sunday but still two pounds above my side bar. Just going to keep plugging away at it. The good news is there is no more candy in the house aside from a few candy canes.

I'm taking my daughter skiing next weekend. I want to ski too but have concerns about it. I don't want to need any sort of medical care during the pandemic. I've come to realize I fear medical care more that I fear the virus.

Well, after my post last night, I had a few snacks and went over my calorie allotment. Disappointed but at least it wasn't as large of an overage as I've had before. So far, I am on-plan for today.

I still haven't made a decision on skiing. I almost bought a lift ticket last night but then remembered they use to have a cheaper one for the smaller hill. I meant to call them but forgot. My car has a headlight that is out. I want to get that fixed before I go. It needs to be done at a mechanics though. Unfortunately, it is really hard to replace it myself.

So I did my final year tally. In addition to my weight, I kept tabs on several other things. Here are the results in % of days I was successful.

Calorie deficit: 68%
Getting fresh air: 81%
Exercise: 89%
No sugared soda: 73%
Going to sleep at a reasonable time: 55%

For my weight loss the result was 52% (actual/target*100)

Definitely better at some things than others.

Well, I bought a lift ticket. We'll see how it goes. I am getting my car in shape for the trip. I had new tires put on it. One of my headlights was out. Earlier this week I made an appointment to take it in to get it fix and for an oil change. The appointment is first thing tomorrow. Now, the other headlight is out and we had just replaced that bulb about a month ago.

I am very hungry this evening and am hoping I can hang in there!

Almost forgot to post! Not a good sign. I am having a lot of anxiety over my weekend trip. So much so, I am having trouble packing and getting things done! Definitely overate but stopped tracking. Yet another bad sign. Not sure what is going on! This is suppose to be a fun trip! My car needed some work and new tires which I think is part of it.

My ankle was really sore this morning and I'm not sure why. So sore, it is hard to walk. Skiing tomorrow is questionable.

no exercise today but I'm on calories.

My paradoxical life, it is easier for me to ski than to walk. My ankle was sti'll sore this morning but didn't hurt at all skiing. I am proud of myself for going skiing.

on- track for exercise and calories

Still living the paradoxical life. Went skiing again today. The hardest part and the only part that left me out of breath was putting on my boots.

On-track for exercise; not sure on calories. I haven't finished tracking.

Not sure what the scale will say tomorrow. Weighing in for the first time in four days. Got my exercise in but likely over on calories since I didn't bother tracking today.

Definitely a 'meh' day. Got a returned Christmas card today from one of my oldest friends. I hope everything is okay with her. She hasn't been responding to my texts either. Made a very bad choice today- went to the grocery store hungry. Oh my! Thank goodness I had been really carefully earlier in the day so I managed to stay on track.

So not really 521 days left right now. I will need to seriously consider recalculating at the end of the month. Overall, I am off-track. Weight is pretty much staying steady. It's not dropping and I feel challenged to keep it where it is. I spend at least 6 hours a week exercising to maintain my figure such that it is.
