Yay for Amsterdam!!!

I'm back from Wales. The run yesterday was fairly good, considering. There's a map on someone else's blog with the elevation profile, that hill was pretty much as bad as it looks. Needless to say I didn't run it anywhere near as fast as him, but I was pretty pleased with a 3:03 finish over those hills, and I'm more confident of breaking 4 hours for the marathon after that - it would give me just under an hour to do the last 10k, probably more on the basis I'll have tapered and won't be running over mountains.

Rafting today was... interesting. It was fun, but cold. White water rafting in the snow probably isn't the best introduction to it! But I had a good time, which was the important thing.

I've eaten tons over the weekend, but I'm sure I've burned it all off with runs and rafting. On the way back my arms were actually more sore than my legs which hardly feel like they did anything yesterday. Last year when I did long runs I could barely walk for days so I must be getting more used to them. I'm going to make myself a few curry type dishes from the new cookbook tonight and have a little bit of each and freeze the rest, and finish off the rest of the wine from last night - I ended up buying a screwtop bottle, having a nice long bath and watching a dvd in my room rather than going out, as I thought my legs deserved the rest.

Congrats Helen sounds like a great weekend.

I'm having one of those "I'm never drinking again" days. Oh well it was fun. Nice quiet week planned so I should be able to stay on track.

Sarah, hilarious about the neighbors, good for you for paying them back today.

Too tired to be chatty...have a nice night all.

Sod it I just lost the post I just wrote. Ahhh well it was only full of my usual witterings.

I am well with no hangover. Didn't I get very sensible in my old age. Had a great St Patrick's night but I am very tired today. Mind you its my day off tomorrow so I can sleep in the boys will get up with their father.

Right I must head up the wooden stairs to Bedfordshire.

Goodnight godbless

RSG... hope you're feeling better after your good night out and spending time with your friend...friends are very important I feel.

helen, you're weekend sounds great, glad you enjoyed the rafting... bet it was cold though.

Sarah... big pat on back for deciding on needing to drill aimlessly... that is so brilliant! Had me chortling merrily this morning when I read that. I hoep it sounded like a huge dentists drill going into their non existent brin cells after their Walton's rendition last night.

Michelle, you made me grin with the saying about up the wooden hills, my Dad always said it... glad to hear you had a good St. Patricks day.

I've not done much today, it's been very windy and mighty chilly here today, i did fight with about twenty bags of rubbish, garden rubbish that's been sitting behind the shed for a few months and was frozen to the ground and I bagged it all, filled up the car and had J do the rubbish run as Dave had already headed to Philly to see his Mum. It's amazing how much rubbish one can accumalte in the space of a few weeks. I do miss not having a dustman in this rustic living we've got going on.

Well my arms are about to have a good workout, I'm done with washing and drying and now need to lug the basket and hung stuff up two flights of stairs...I need a lift.... maybe a stana stair lift, then I could sit with everything on my lap while we glide up there.

Ok, time for the lugging. see you all tomorrow.

Hello!

I've just eaten lots of apple butter on protein pancakes And I got strange, "What's that??" looks from the people at work It's APPLE BUTTER However the jar I brought to work previously had vegetable chutney in, and so my apple butter tastes a bit vinegary... Well it's still healthy and yummy and

Not much else to report here, although we did have a friend round for drinkies last night and he brought KETTLE CHIPS the boy! I did manage to eat most of them Oh and DH bought me a Creme Egg because I beat him at Scrabble! He was mad because I played "Qi" for 31 points and he moans because I always play that, however it was the penultimate go, and I could've had "quote" but there was no U on the board, and I didn't have one anyway! I think he's just sore that I've started beating him! MEN!

Oh and I set the alarm for 6am this morning so I could go out and have a little run round the park... However I got up a bit bleary and was feeling ok... but then I looked out the window and there was SNOW so I went back to bed after smacking DH about a bit with my mobile phone that was making alarm noises

I AM going to the gym today though, and I'm re-evaluating my workout, but it should be great Then it's littlies tonight Hopefully Lee will be helping out

Snow in London? Gosh. Not here in West London though. Mind you - early days! We have had it in April before.

Frus - the apple butter sounds interesting. I am emailing my friend the recipe as she would probably like it on her ryvitas or pancakes.

Well there are some very strange people who actually like running and walking! Even our office cleaner has got in on the act and is walking up from the lower ground floor to the 4th floor. That is amazing considering all the cleaners usually only go one floor in the lift!

I had great ideas of walking a lot after my holiday in Malta where there were loads of steps. However when I got back I was full of cold and seem to be having a 4 week period (as in TOM) and not feeling great about doing anything so that put paid to that! I do enjoy walking though - not the head down arse up and not noticing anything as you walk along kind of walking but the ambling along under your own steam type of walking (ok waddling).

Hello everyone

Hello Nicolae and welcome.

I am worn out from the weekend. Thank god it is my day off today. I've not lifted a finger, Couldn't even be bothered to have a fried egg sarnie. Had special K with berries instead.

Didn't I go back out again last night to meet my friend Bernadette it must have been the first St Patricks Day that we have not spent together so we had a quick drink. My husband said he was locking me in oh what a larf he is. Anyway he gave me a lift to the pub provided I was out the door by the time 24 started and he picked me up at 10.30pm. He is a sweetheart he ironed the boys a shirt for me and sorted out their packed lunch.

I am going to the gym later on. I was there 3 times last week and did plenty of walking. I'd like to lose a pound or so this week. I've been fafffing around for too long now.

Right I must shift myself

Take good care everyone

Michele
