Well DH wanted me to iron shirts, so I said I'd iron if I could then go kickboxing!
I am now doing WEAPONS TRAINING! And my weapon... A broomstick Oh and the competition is back Yummy Mummy is wanting private lessons to get back in the swing of things before she comes back to class I'm not tooooooo worried since I am almost 2 belts ahead of her but IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!!
I'm feeling lots better today - I am at work and will be getting my 'tocks to the gym. I'm even thinking about going again after work for a slight treadmill jog. I'm wearing my knee support today, but I'm going to take it off in a moment to ice my knee and I'll put it back on for the gym. My knee is feeling better on the right side where it hurt on Sunday, but it's a bit grumbly on the left so we shall see what happens. I think I will carry on with my knee support when exercising for a few weeks. I'm kicking myself that I didn't put it on to run on Sunday!
Frus.... Take good care of that knee - have you been reading Skwigg's blog? You DH... ironing.... maybe he could do his own??? Unless, of course, he's doing that 'bloke thing' of pretending he can't do housework I think it must be something they teach them in nursery cos it seems to me that just about every man I've ever met says he can't do it properly and, if forced, then goes on to make a complete hash of it to illustrate the point - but put them in the army or something and they can do it all perfectly. Strange that!
CG - that buffet sounds - I've never tried okra - I've always been told its slimey but DH says thats only when people cook it wrong - what does it taste like? Well done on getting that cozzie - brave woman!
RSG - What happened about the fight in your alley - did it all just fizzle out? Sounds a lot like my Chav neighbours.
Chris - Sounds like you're settling in well at Curves! I'm looking forward to watching the new series of 24 when it comes out on DVD. We don't watch 24 when its on the TV because DH can't cope with the week gap in between programmes!!! He prefers to wait until it comes out of DVD so he can have a 24-fest and watch the whole thing in a 2 day binge.
Helen - its so nice that the evenings are so much lighter although I don't much like it still being dark when I start off for my morning walks. It was lovely yesterday - comfortably warm after the mist had cleared - so when I came home from work for my lunch DH had made a nice salad which we ate out in the garden.
Doughnut... things like that put me off of foods as well. I always had a big addiction to cheese right up until recently when someone described it to me as 'flavoured fat' - that phrase killed my addiction instantaneously. Since then I've only eaten it as part of a recipe and not in wedges on its own like I used to. Every time I think about cheese now - even just ordering it from Sainsbury on-line - the words 'flavoured fat' wander through my head and make me feel a bit
Ahhhh sweeeeeeeeetttttt .... a little old lady came in to the post office yesterday (Tuesday) telling us she was worried because she'd put the clocks BACK an hour on Sunday - like 'the man on the telly' said - but the TV programmes all seem to be wrong. Bless her, she'd been 2 hours out of step with the rest of us for two whole days, no wonder she was confused. This job would be great if it wasn't for the boss!
I'm getting a bit of a fan club at work - the old boys seem to really like me (probable average age 75!) - yesterday I was given a cap full of ultra fresh eggs with huge very bright orange yolks, some sweet pea seedlings, geranium cuttings and a carrier bag of beautiful red kale and another carrier bag of carrots. Not sure what to do with quite so many carrots...
Very naughty but I was celebrating with a new Dr, who passed her PhD thingy last night. 2 glasses or more red wine, 1 tequila and several plates of chips and potato skins. Oh Dear!
Good job there's bullet proof glass between me and them... who knows what might happen. There was a weird pine disinfectant type smell yesterday which lingered - one of the other staff asked her customer if she knew what it was and according to her the pong was coming from a couple of the old boys who have been spraying themselves with heaven knows what in an effort to impress. It took ages to clear and gave me the giggles for the rest of the day. I don't think DH has got anything to worry about.
Sarah the fight ended up being nothing, to me it looked like a few drunken swings and then they walked off in separate directions. I see a lot in the alley, during Red Sox season I can look out the window at any point and see drunk men deciding they can't wait to find a bathroom....idiots. I have been known to yell out the window and startle them mid-way through.
Had a great long run last night, perfect weather tonight muscle class and boot camp then I have to write a paper for class that I forgot about!!! Class is Thursday night. I don't want to miss boot camp though so I'll just stay up late and do the stupid thing.
Having a good week eating wise, hoping for some scale movement.
Have a great day everyone...Sarah behave yourself with those nice old boys!!!
CG... a new cozzie hey? Well where did you get it and what does it look like... pictures please in me
Peacock, glad to hear that you got your new microwave...I bet the rest of your co workers are happy with you
Jen, watch that knee. You are a lovely wife, I don't iron, anything, unless it's like for a wedding or something..I HATE ironing with a passion. Hubs irons, every day... and because he's retired AF he does a lovely job and wold never think to ask me to do it, cos he knows I'd tell him to bog off. WHen we were first married and had had J we went to his Mum's in Phlly for a month and we had all new summer clothes, he had lovely short sleeved shirts and I was a good wife and irned everything before we packed and by the time we unpacked it was all wrinkled. SO he went down one morning to iron his shirt for the day and his Mum found him, she was not impressed that I didn't get up and iron it for him and didn't talk to me that day.... Dave explained that he oroned his own shirt because one he knew how to because of being in the military and two, because SHE had taught him that it WASN'T women's work only.... then she was nice to me again
I was on my own again to open up at work yesterday, the woman training me thought her shift started at three thirty not two...I was a bit lost as I had to find where to turn lights and fans on, which with some members help we got it all figured out. I did a trest on what muscles we use on the machines.... I feel like I'm in med school learning all the proper names...it's gonna take a while I feel.
Sarah...... at all your admirers...bless... sounds like you got a nice lot of things yesterday, I need to get some sweet peas planted, they're one of my favourite flowers. How's George? Is he recovered from his nasty man incedint?
RSG, I think you've got it a tad warmer than us, but enjoy, it's not bad here this morning and i am about to get ready and go out with Pen and Lew....the birds are singing and I've got a cardinal coming to one of my bird feeder's each morning now, I've been trying to get a pic, but he seems to wait until I've taken the camera back indoors.
How's George? Is he recovered from his nasty man incedint?
Actually.... this is going to sound completely daft... but I think it shook him up a bit and has left him a bit miserable. The night it happened he had lots of those little woofy nightmares and a very dodgy tummy which is not like him (thank goodness DH gets up before me)...... ewwww..... and he's been a bit off his walks ever since (George that is, not DH). Poor George, he's not used to people hitting/kicking him - it just hasn't happened in his life. DH has got next weekend off and we're taking them down to Cleethorpes which is George's most favourite place so hopefully he'll perk up a bit.
Sarah Ann- you are not being daft. Doggies get scared too! Especially if he is not used to that behaviour from people (wonder if the ar*eh*le's dog is?)What that man did was unacceptable although as you say he is probably a 'lazy Sunday' dog walker who like their 'sunday driver' counterparts are not used to what goes on around them. Hence blindingly obvious doggie behaviour was completely foreign to him.
Give George a bug hug from us all (even more scarey!!) and tell him we think he is lovely! Then try to get his head through the door!!
Ellie's fine - scatterbrained as ever! Just managed to get herself locked in the garage, she's not allowed in there but I was moving my seedlings back in to overnight them and she must have sneeked in. The first I knew was when she howled - scared the wits out of me!
I just gave George the which he enjoyed. We've got to take him to the vet next week anyway so if a trip to the seaside and a chippy sausage doesn't get him back to his usual happy-go-lucky self I'll mention it.
