Helen, could it be Mouli? (You need to phone up and ask because you treat Mouli and Horseradish differently.)
Mouli you have finely sliced in salads in place of normal little radishes or you can add it in slices to stirfries. There are probably other recipies but we always eat it in salads. Last time I bought a mouli I tried this one and it was lovely - very fresh..
Horseradish is (as you probably know) HOT and, when made in to a creamy sauce, its a traditional accomplaiment to beef or smoked fish - but you can mix it with natural greek style yoghurt or cream (or sour cream) to make a sauce to go with pretty much anything. You need to peel a bit of it then grate it VERY finely - then add it to the yoghurt/cream/sour cream with maybe a touch of salt and let it stand for 30 mins. You can also add a kick to stirfries by grating in a TINY amount or add it to anything with a cheesey kind of sauce. DH likes a little of it grated in to coleslaw.
RSG - that stew is a big favourite of DH's, especially on cold days, its easy to prepare and it'll happily keep bubbling away for an hour extra if you're not sure what time you're going to eat.
No snow here today, but there is a very hard frost out there and the pavements are really icy! Time to go for my walkies.
Sarah - I have no idea. I looked through my veggie book and compared pictures, and horseradish was the closest I got to a match. (Ultra scientific approach there ) I'll investigate some more over the weekend. (I might be in the shop who do my deliveries at lunchtime, if so I'll ask).
30 minutes speedwork on the treadmill this morning. I still don't find it any more enjoyable, so I'm just trying to remind myself that it works.
I made it to work today I couldda stayed at home - the other biker is "snowed in" *COUGH* yeah right! Anyway I made it and I won't be quite so bored at home anyway! I think I was half coming down with a cold yesterday just from being inside!
I've got a 10K race tomorrow in Battersea park. That will be fun if the weather's still cwappy and the snow hasn't melted!
Oh ITUNES! I can only sync my ipod with one copy of itunes! So I can't have it at home and at work! WTH???? Oh well.
Woo HOOOOO - that was a 'bracing' walk. Lovely and crispy, crunchy with a few little slippy slidy bits (enough to get the old heart racing but not enough to break a leg!!) Isn't it amazing how a bit of snow makes the world look so clean and pure.
Why can't I feel as enthusiastic about being Little Miss Perfect with my food as I do my walks? I do fine, right up until the evenings and then it all goes up.
I've got work this afternoon - and I get told when my next course is. I also get paid today and it will be interesting to find out if I actually got paid for going on my last course which was (technically) on a day that I don't work.
I'm making a slow cooker beef strogonoff which (TBH) isn't looking too promising at the moment. Might put a slug of brandy in it towards the end with the mushrooms - a nice slug of brandy or wine usually perks up pretty much anything!
Anyone heard about this mind reading thing on the radio? Creepy! Scientists, using brain activity, can now predict what the subject will do. Very clever, considering that half the time I can't predict what I'll do!
OMG!!!! I just realised I'VE LOST MY CHRISTMAS WEIGHT! That only took a month and a half! I'm the exact same weight this morning as I was on Christmas day!
It's not snowing here at the moment. I've got to sit outside all evening at the rugby, I hope it's not too cold. And then I want to run tomorrow, so I'm hoping for no ice either. I can dream can't I?!
I'm tired, and I want to finish for the day. I will be clock watching for most of the afternoon I think.
