My name is Elaine. I'm 54 yrs.old and have been trying to get off by fluffy stuff for oh! let's say 35 yrs. and to keep it off. I rejoined Weight Watchers a week ago and my current weight is 316 lbs.
While going through the threads, I came across the Looking for Buddy who's tired of being Fluffy. Thought to myself, got to check this out.
I started at the beginning and read most of the postings. I found through it there was great support and truly good people here.
Glad to have you aboard our train Elaine....I wasn't trying to make a rhyme there promise
First I will be starting WW again for the 101th time, I was doing it for about a month when I started the thread and fell off the wagon about 2 1/2 weeks ago..issues girl. Anyway I am hopping on my horse again to attempt this weight loss monster. Anyway I am doing WW without the meetings.
Turbo Jam is a great tool to have. Cassy (CJLAFAYE) is the TURBO JAM QUEEN. If you PM her she can give you some insight on the DVD's. Her sister also does them. It looks like a lot of fun. There are informercials that come on during the weekend for the product. Boy I should be their spokesperson.
O.K ladies I hope you all have a wonderful day, I am heading to the soccer field to cheer my daughter on. It's their last game and they are undefeated-mixed league.
If I don't post again today all of you have a HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY!!!
Thanks for the Welcome I am very excited about the challenge. It's just what I need!! And May 29th is a great time for me to start this weight loss journey. You see right now I'm at the cusp of a big change. My family is packing up our apartment in Texas to move to Virginia. I got a great new job and we'll be closer to relatives (my parents and my husbands entire family ) So the diet right now consists of anything in the frige or pantry that we don't want to take and exercise consists of packing and keeping my 4 year old occupied. We're starting the drive on Tuesday so y'all may not hear from me for a while. But I promise I'll be back and ready to be a true Sista!!!
We'll I'd better get back to packing. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you! Have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!
hey Nicky,,,happy trails...and congrats on the new job and going home! I know if I was closer to home I would be happier too but I hav emade a life here and am starting to like it here too...
Regina,,,I never pictured us on a train,,,more of a big ol convertible...top down,,,we are all doing the Thelma and Louise look,,( scarves around our heads,,,and big glasses.) No cliffs at all part of our weight loss cruise. Music jamming,,,weather is warm.
Elaine,,,WW is a great program to be on,,, just reading up on it and seriously its the one program you can eat anything you want...in moderation.
Anywho,,,thought Id pop in say hellllo and wish the mothers a wonderful day.
Hope all had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend! I was so bad, I'm afraid to get on a scale for at least a week. Retirement party, two birthday parties and of course the big Mothers Dat Brunch. Thought maybe my hubby was going to need to roll me to the train this morning! Extra laps around the park and lots of stair walking for me today!
Anyone else looking to recover from a bad weekend? Have a great week everyone!
WELCOME ELAINE!!! Great to have you here The sistas are all wonderful. Happy you found us!
Nicky: Good luck with the move. Looking forward to your return!
Angie, THANKS A MILLION FOR THE SUGGESTION GIRL!!!! I made that trip to the mall (w/out my wallet) and got a good 2 1/2 - 3 hours of walking in. PLUS, tried on some motivation clothes along the way! I haven't bought new clothes in months. I keep telling myself "you don't want to buy anything new if it won't fit in a month or two anyway". Well, I stopped in at The Buckle to try on some jeans just to see what size I'm down to. Have ya'll been to The Buckle? Yeah, the sales people basically swarm around you to "help you find stuff" (in my case, to annoy the heck outta me! Hehehe). Well, I told the sales guy I was just looking, and grabbed a pair of size 32 Lucky's figuring they would be about right on (most of my clothes are a 14 or 34" waist). He let me into a fitting room and I tried um on. They were HUGE! Walked out and he looked at me, grabbed a pair of size 29's and said "Here, this should be better for you." AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 29's!!!!!! I've never, EVER been a 29. ****, I didn't think I would be in the 20's at goal! WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was about a second away from hugging the sales guy at The Buckle. He probably thought I was nuts. I was jumping around like a little kid! Hehehe. Hopefully I'll be down to 27's or 28's by the time CountryFest rolls around!
Well that's all for me today. Have a healthy day my sistas!
Amanda Mae,,,that is FANTASTIC~! Wahoo for you! So start dating a pair of 27s..and do your walking,,,try to make the mall walk once a week and see about trying on 27,,do the ol test,,,can you get them on,,,or past your hips...then can you button them,,,then can you sit in them,,,then can you dance the night away in them,,,if can answer the last question they are yours!
Ive had a great day,,,weather has been so awesome,,,hot hot hot. Ate healthy,,,left overs but still lots of veggies. Drank most of my water..and cleaned more down in the basement as a workout.
Hey guys again a long time since posting. I had a fantastic moms day. My daughter, Amy, cooked me dinner. She asked what I wanted and I said go look in my new WW cookbook and pick something. She decided on Orange chicken and it was awesome and within my points. She cooked for me , my mom, and her sister and the guys. She did an awesome job. My son. Jord bought me beautiful flowers and they decorated the table.
Things are going well. Everthing is finally starting to click. Last week at work everyone was saying how well I've done and how much have I lost. I am actually down 16 lbs and 9 inches since the start of all this!!! I was excited when I realized it was actually 16 and not 6.
I told a friend that I must have hit my head on the wall enough time cuz it finally is making sense and falling into place. I find that I am no long so hungry and craving stuff at night. About 8 pm is my snack time and it took me a long time to get over that. I don't eat after 8 if i can help it. Maybe on Sat if we are watching movies but other than that I don't. For me water in not a problem at all. I drink lots. I bough an H2O to go bottle at walmart and I drink 2 everyday at work. So more than what I need but like everyone else is saying I am forever in the ladies room. I had bladder surgey last summer and it is good for the incontinence thing (thank my kids for that) however I still have a small bladder and Have to go constantly.
I WILL TAKE THE MAY - JUNE CHALLENGE. I WANT TO BE AT MY 10% FOR WW BY THE MIDDLE OF JUNE. SO THIS IS PERFECT TIMING FOR ME.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
Anyways ladies I should run as it is bedtime but I just want to say you are all doing great and it is great to read all the successes everyone is having. Excersize is still a challange for me. I do get to curve 2-3 times a week. My goal is 3-4 time a week.
Thats great Sandy,,,know what you mean about the bathroom...they are calling one stall mine now...lol The other 45 women share the other 2...
Just think what the water is doing for the skin too....
How is the weather over there? Cause man its hot down here...loving it!
Ok I could of been called miss cranky,,,grrr I was all friendly on the phone,,,with my co workers but I was just feeling that crankyness building. Came home,,,worked in that baasement,,,started supper...made potato salad,,,I know not the best but did go light on the mayo...
scared to go weigh myself...
anyways,,,the weather here is insane,,,nice and hot.
Well the day is almost over and I am thankful! It was rough,,,seriously I could of easily free based sugar...instead I had frapiccino,,,not happy about that,,,but will get past that ...on ward now...
Hey girls' :O) It's been a few days,, sorry.. I've been soooo bad since Mothers day, what is going on with me ?!?!? I'm like a total maniac lately... I need to get over this bump, before I regain to much It's very uplifting to see how well some of ya'll are doin', congrats :O) Keep up the great work!! But,, it's also a relief to know I'm not the only sista here who's strugglin' for some self-control... I know we all have the strength to do this, I just cannot seem to find my stronger inner self this month !!
Hoping today is a better day :O) I'll catch ya'll later... Crystal
How are you all doing? Good I hope. I know it has been a few days since I last posted. A lot has happened over the past couple of days. All good though. I had a nice Mother's Day, we went out to eat that day to Applebee's, I had the oriental chicken wrap...delicious.
I was reading some of the other posts. First let me say to Amanda you rock in the 29's. You deserve it to the exteme, wear them proud for all your sistas o.k.
I know what you mean Crystal about the success and the struggles all the sistas are having. I myself am trying to find the inner strength again. It's slowing resurfacing and will be here for the challenge I have set forth, plus its a good incentive for me to do this as I am embarking on a wonderful vacation and new endeavor that I need the discipline again.
My problem is when I lose the weight I think I can get away without keeping track of my progress then I end up screwing myself and fall off. I am glad that we are all going through this journey together as it helps get us going in the right direction. It's nice to know there are others who can relate.
I have some news that I will be sharing next week with you all- there is a reason for waiting o.k. Take care and before you all think I am that is not it at all- this bakery is closed for business . It is something else.
Keep on smiling sistas and have a wonderful day!!!!
Regina: Now I'm itching to find out what this "news" is! I hope it's good news Keep us posted.
Crystal: I know you can find that stronger inner self. Keep searching, we know it's there. Stay strong!
Angie: Soooooo jealous of your warm weather. Send some of it my way, will ya? Hehehe
Sandy: Sounds like you had a great moms day. Flowers, a WW friendly dinner, and plenty of time with loved ones... how nice!
Cassy, All my other sistas: Hope everyone is doing well
Ok ladies. I'm nervous. Like, sick to my stomach nervous. Tomorrow is weigh in for me. I usually look forward to my weigh ins, but last week was my first gain since starting WW I blamed it on my complete lack of exercise last week, so I decided to get my butt in gear and do something about being more active. Have ya'll seen the infomercials for Power90? Well, I started up on Monday. For those of you who haven't seen them, it's a 90-day in home hard core "bootcamp" style workout program. You work out 6 days/week alternating between weights and cardio/abs. It's going great, but I've been a complete SODIUM FIEND since starting. I'm talking EXTREME sodium cravings after my workouts. Yesterday after working out I went to the fridge and ate 3 huge dill pickles That was 1200 mg of sodium I'm so worried I'm going to post another gain this week, and that would be devastating. Keep your fingers crossed that I have good news tomorrow!
