Just a short note. I've got company in from Calgary, Alberta for 2-3 weeks. I'm moving in 2 weeks and my boyfriend is in the hospital [ he has Multiple Sclerosis for the last 20 yrs. = I've known him for 8 yrs]. Hopefully he will be home Saturday he is feeling alot better.

So, needless to say I've been and will be pretty busy the next few weeks. If I don't talk to all of you for awhile I wish you all the best and will touch base again in the near future.

Hi Everybody! I'm writing you from Vero Beach, Florida where I'm on vacation with my maternal family (Grandfather all the way down to 2 year old cousin). We're having a blast and I'm getting really tan while sipping drinks on the beach It's a Disney resort that we're at (my aunt has a timeshare here) so my daughter is at an "Unbirthday Party" . She's been having a ball and swimming in the pool everyday. She's not real keen on swimming in the ocean. The first day we were here I was holding her in the ocean and a wave knocked me over. I held her up over my head while I tried to get my feet back under me, but she still got saltwater in her face and she really didn't like that. But we still have 3 more days to get her used to it again.
Before I left I did a weigh in. I didn't lose any, but I didn't gain any so I'll take it. I don't think that I'll weigh myself for a couple of weeks after this vacation. I've been picking good thinks to eat mostly (lots of fresh fruits and veggies), but the drinks are definately not on my diet and I've been having my share for sure. Although today we did go on a 10 mile bike ride and that was quite a workout. I had my daughter in a kiddie seat on the back of my bike so it was even more that just riding myself. I did have to switch bikes with my mom towards the end and let her haul the kiddo around for a little while because it was getting really hard on me. But I did my best
Elaine - You and your boyfriend are in my prayers. I hope by now he is out of the hospital. I hope you're able to enjoy your company.
Cjlafaye - Thanks for putting the call out to the Sistas. I see that there hasn't been much response yet, but hopefully they'll come home soon.
Well they put a short limit on the amount of time you're allowed to use the computer here and my time's almost up. So I hope everyone is doing fine and that there'll be plenty to read up on when I get back to Virginia.

Thanks for the prayers. He's out of the hospital and has been home for one week now. He seems better than he was but, today he seems to have a flu bug.

Anyways I still have the company from Calgary. They have really been a help with my boyfriend when he was in the hospital and now out. They take him where he needs to go.

I'm moving next Saturday July 8th and my friends from Calgary have really helped me with the packing.

I may not be on for awhile until we move and get hooked up on the internet, so if I don't talk to everyone for awhile...I would like to say all the best.

O.K. I know I am partly to blame for the postings being extremely light, but where is everybody at? I truly hope our sisterhood is not get skinny to the point where we don't need this, because I know I do. I have no excuse for not logging in like I use to. Boy I was a faithful one back in the day and now look at me. Things have been a little hectic for me and my time limited but still. Anyway I will do my best to post at least once a day to let you all know what is up.

My new job is going real well and I am enjoying myself a lot. I am glad to hear the other sistas are venturing out and looking and for some even starting over in a new office...great job Amanda.

My weight has been going up and down since my vacation. Like I told you all there was really no challenge for me during that time as I couldn't do it. No will power. My daughter and I are making an effort together to lose weight. With her having some of my genes and her father's too I cannot afford to let her fall into my bad habits. See when I was her age I was on a kid diet and counted calories and had my weight checked each week. I lost 15 lbs doing that and went from a juniors 13/14 to a 7/8 in a few months. My daughter is somewhat sedetary and after she stepped on the scale....which let me say the number wa not obscene by any means...she is 5'4 1/2 and weighs 135. Her weight is at the max for her height, anyway she said she wanted to lose around 10 lbs. I told her how I did it at her age and how it was really easy to do. I told her that she was still able to eat what she liked it was all about moderation. Please don't think I am pushing her to lose weight, however as a parent you have to watch and help too. So in a nutshell she is doing that to along side me with my WW. I'll keep you all posted on our progress. One day at a time right.

Another holiday done! I'm sure glad there arent anymore for awhile. Time to get back on track and stay there!~
My three are all out west with their father for his once yearly I want to be a Dad BS. They always come back swearing they'll never go back, but he manages to guilt them into it. At least I can relax and not think about schedules, curfews, etc. & just work on myself.
I hope all is well and moving on towards their goals - "eat less, excercise more", the mantra for the week!

Hey Gals! I thought I would check in quickly. Things are a little rough here after my vacation. My husband didn't get the job that we were counting on and my computer at work blew up while I was gone. But I'm hanging in there and trying not to eat my way through the hard times. I'm calling out to all my sistas here - Please come back!! I need some support!!
Elaine - I'll keep you in my prayers for your boyfriends continued healing and for a successful, easy move. It's great that you have friends with you for help and support.

Hey Everybody! I hope all is well with y'all. I'm still hanging in over here. I somehow managed to twist my ankle so I'm not able to do the walking that I was enjoying. Does anyone have any ideas for exercising that is ankle-friendly?

Elaine - I hope the move went allright for you. I can't wait till your computer is hooked up again so we can hear how things are with you.

Goofygrl - Congrats on the loss (for you and your daughter)!! I think it's great that you're helping her with her weightloss. I've been dieting since I was 12 and I used to get advise from my "friends" instead of my mom (or anyone else who may have had a clue). That's how I got the great idea for the diet where I only ate on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. And it's great that you're still enjoying your new job. I wish you continued sucess!!

TryinAgain - Enjoy your time while your 3 are out with their Dad. I'm sure you miss them, but it'll be great to take the time to do something that you don't have the time for when you're in the midst of motherhood.

Cjlafaye - I hear you on the porch getaway. My husband and I couldn't afford a vacation one time so we made Pina Coladas, put on our beachwear and said that we were in Hawaii. It was fun because we did everything we could to convince each other that we were really gone and made a fun day out of it. Sometimes all you need is a little imagination.

Well, the IT guys came and took my computer away today. I'm hoping to get it back soon....

Well this past week has been crazy for me. I think the last post of mine was like a week ago. I can't sign on at work and write you all there as I am totally bombarded with work. When I get home I am doing the home duties. Anyway I am here now. Where is everyone at? Has everyone decided that having a support unit is not needed? Help me to understand. Granted I know we all have lives but we had lives when we started this thread too. I don't mean to come across as a ***** or anything, I just hope this thread continues if not I truly understand and wish everyone out there great success, luck, determination, and mostly importantly motivation. Enough of my lecture and *****iness. I want everyone out there who is listening to know that I have truly been inspired by the comments left for me and others. Like I said I hope the support continues. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey guys! i`m here .. just busy with my gurliez.. with the summer and all.. i have managed to lose 21 pounds..woohoo..lol I hope you are all doing great! drink up ya water! i have been taking my lil one to the gym with me 5 days-a week -M-F- i go to ladies workout express..well i`m off to eat my slimfast bar..lol ..smoochez all around!

I'm still hanging on, too! I'm in kind of a weight loss plateau right now, but at least I'm not gaining weight so I'll take it. My ankle is feeling better so I'm starting to be able to walk to and from the bus again. That'll help I'm sure. I never thought I would say it, but I've missed the exercise since I haven't been able to walk. Maybe getting back into it will motivate me to try even more. And I got a part-time job working at the nursery at my church. It's not going to be much, maybe a couple hours a week; but the main benefit is that I'll get to meet mothers with small children in my community. I'm really excited!!
Well, I hope everyone is doing fine and drinking plenty of water.
