well afternoon all... It is that dreaded TOM again.. it rolls around so quick....i pray for those 220's next week.. I think I am gonna follow ww points again for a month,.. see how that goes... can't quite get a handle on my calorie deficit so ww here i come.. weight is up about 2-3 lbs this week.. should come off by next week.. see yall later..Kim

Hi everyone! No news here. Just holding steady. No gain, no loss. I'm ready to get back in gear, but it's so hectic getting ready to move! ARGH! And I'm so tired after work I don't feel like exercising! Day before yesterday, threw my youngest in the wagon and walked him around the neighborhood. Felt really good with that.

I'm with you Kim, I keep *expecting* to wake up and see somethign other that the 220's and it's not happening. I decided that I'm in an exercise rut now - been doing the same thing for a few weeks now for 6 days a week. So today I started out with 20 minutes Winsor Pilates and then tried the rowing machine at the gym, along with the elliptical, but doing it in intervals - liek 3 min at a steady pace and then 1 minute running. We'll see if I can get out of the 220's. I also haven't gone back to honest calorie counting - which works wonderfully for me when I track every bite, lick and taste. I just cannot seem to find the time now. I maybe need to invest in one of thos palm pilot versions? Anyone have that?
Have a lovely weekend ladies! I seem to be able to chekc in more on the weekends than the weekdays. I'm not used to working outside of the home yet. And when I get home there's so much to do. DH is doing great being Mr. Mom though! |
Nori - super glad your DH is being a great Mr. Mom! Have you ever heard that country song by Lonestar??? It's hilarious. Even if you don't like country. I also think your itnerval idea will work great. The one time I saw a personal trainer (like 5 years ago) he said to do that, and the Body For Life book says to try that, too.
I'm trying to decide if I'm suffering from information overload. I read all these books, and they all have different advice. I'm so confused I can't just pick a plan and stick with it. I know Weight Watchers works, but I can't bring myself to go back to counting points! Friday is my last day at work, and then we move the first week of August. I'm really hoping when we get to SC, I can get control of a good plan again. I hope everyone's having a great weekend!!! |

Sarah - I hear you on the information overload. I just went back today to what worked so great for me. Old fashioned calorie counting. I don't particularly "enjoy" it at the moment - but once I got in the habit and got the hang of it it got easier in the past. I'm tired of sitting here between 219-222. Yes, I did hit 219 a couple days ago, but this am I was back up to 222. I think I'm on somewhat of a platuea, because I'm not eating "bad", and I'm burning mega calories every day (6 days a week for sure) through exercise. But just in case I decided to go back to counting every bite, lick and taste. And there was this fab looking 3 layer chocolate-zuchinni cake with yummy looking frosting left over at work today and I walked right by it. That was my miracle of the day.
Hope all of you are having a good week so far. I was thinking summertime would be easier to eat healthy in, but I don't think so, so far. How about you all? I know there's lots of fresh fruits and veggies, but I seem to be more tempted to snack in between my meals (I eat lots of little meals every 3 hours or so). Weird. |

Sarah, big move coming up for you. I hope it goes smooth. Nori: I'm glad you settled right into work, did you go back part time or full time? Serena: Did you start WW yet? Slimkim: TOM sucks! I'll probably get mine when I go on vacation if I know my luck. I just realized it's been just the 5 of us for the last two weeks. Sorry I haven't posted since last week. My lack of dieting has prevented me from posting. I don't know what changed since Easter but it was downhill since then. Now I know I have no chance of losing weight before Ireland. Nori - I know I should want lighter, fresher foods because it's summer, but I've noticed I seem a little hungrier! I've been eating a bowl of high fiber cereal at night to try and stay full. That is a total miracle walking away from the cake! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Mo-yes, our group has gotten smaller. I just like to think about how determined we are. And I'm betting Katie Bug made her goal, and is just getting ready for her first year at college! I sure wish Elizabeth and J would check in and let us know how they're doing, too. Don't worry - we will all find our motivation again! Nori has found her's, and I'm slowly pulling mine back out. I've increased my water intake, started my vitamins again, and I'm avoiding cokes. All major steps! :) Have a great day everyone!!! |
OK, day 2 of counting calories - I'm on track. Once I do this for a week I think I'll be back in the groove of it.
Mo - all I can say is that life happens and I've noticed since joining here and from my own personal experiences that all weight-loss journeys, even the most successful ones, have hurdles. Don't be down on yourself, and don't stay away because of it. Heck, you're a lot smaller than when you started! And you're a beautiful person no matter what you weigh anyways! |

I officially started WW again this morning.I went to the meeting last night and weighed in. 195 point something. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My scales have me weighing 199. It's only about 10:30 so I have a long day ahead of me yet. All I can think about it what to eat. I wish I didn't dislike fruits and vegetables as much as I do cause it wouldn't be so hard to fill the voids during the day. I have been forcing myself to eat a little bit of banana lately because my youngest is the only eater in the family so I give him banana everynow and then and have to eat what he doesn't. I remember eating bananas when I was a little girl and liking them. I don't know what has happened to me. My 2 older kids only want pop tarts, cookies, chips, goldfish, crackers, french fries, nuggets, fish sticks, rice and maybe a few more things and thats just put together. Both of them do not like all those things. If it weren't for the fact that happy meals only come with one toy I could buy just one happy meal cause my oldest only likes the fries and the middle only likes the nuggets.

I get 28 pts a day +35 fp... i do really good all day I just have to committ to no eating after 8 or 8:30 because that is when i snack and am a couch potato.... i will just fill up on water.. and go to be early if i have to... ooh i have a really good 2 pt pumpkin pie recipe if you want it.. Nori.. hey how is work anyways??? yes great willpower!!! i may have said.. "hmm zucchini is a vegetable and therefore 0 pts.." hahaha i was doing calorie counting but wasn't sure if i was eating the proper amount to lose.. so ww i know i lost on that b4... Sarah.. i also drink tons of water usually 8 or more glasses a day.. and I started my vitamin too! I also am taking 1000 mg of vitamin c in addition i heard it can help with fat loss.. we'll see can't hurt... Mo~ Hi I was not journalling very well there for a few days too.. and then i start making thoughtless choices .. so I am there with you..but back on track this week.. so we'll beat this together.. My goal for this week.. wed to wed..is no eating after 8 pm.. nada, zilch, only water.. it will be hard cause our family loves to eat snacks..ice cream, popcorn and i will not be partaking.... I am stuffed just now I made seafood alfredo.. oooh yum... but come 9 pm i will probably be looking longingly at their popcorn... i am stronger than that tho.. i think i will go have a little now so i can say i had some.. well night all talk to ya later.. The big move is finally here! We got our pack and ship date from TMO, and tomorrow is my last day at work! I'm disconnecting the computer because we sold the table it sits on, so I won't be able to post until we get settled in South Carolina. So please don't think I've left or forgotten you all - as soon as I get to SC, I'll be catching up on everyone's posts and posting again!!!

Well i was 232.5 on tues and still have some water weight i guess from TOM just ended on friday.. but guess what?? i kept my points on plan with w/w and did not eat anything after 8 pm ( I even snuck in some popcorn about 7:40 cause i worried i might feel i missed out..lol) and I lost weight! so what was the actual cause i hope it is the not eating after 8 and keeping on program.. I am down to 230-230.5... so back to my ticker again.. woo hoo.. well I am just finishing up the last of my eating .. a snack of grapes and cashews with a couple bagel chips.. i like crunchy stuff at night.. so here's hoping for the secret hopefully figured out for my body to lose.. talk more tomorrow..Kim |

Today was my 35th bd and we went up to Mt. Rainier for a little hike. BUT, when we got up there there was still so much snow and I had only worn my running shoes. (Of course, DH was prepared with his hiking boots!) We had a nice picnic and a short little walk.

:hug: Hey gang, I say as I peek in. It is Erin and I know I have not been in for months. A lot has happened, and I have not been able to focus on much, even my weight loss. There is no easy way to say so here goes, my husband and I have separated and are moving on in the divorce process. After the shock and some tears I am OK, but it has taken me away from a lot of the "extras" in my life. My weight went back up to 295, but in the last few weeks I am got back on track and I am at 280.
I had to change a lot of my sign ons so I have become 125LESS on this site. There are some positives in this (I am trying to make sure there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, sorry about the cliche). I have focused back on eating well and I am teaching my son the same. I joined a gym this weekend and I will be going in Monday to arrange my first assignment and learn about the equipment (I hope to do this Wed). I have been swimming. I still took my son to FL for one of the weddings and Disney World (and we had a blast). At this point I am waiting for the separation papers and on I go. I have glanced back a bit (man, I got a lot of catch up!!, but you guys look great!!:carrot: ) I am going to take the little guys out to the pool and pratice for his swimming lessons and try to get some laps in. Hi everyone. I have done really good the first few days back on WW until Friday and Saturday. My youngest's 1st birthday was this week and I baked the cake for the party and of course I have to lick the beeters. We had pizza and cake for the party and yes I had my share. Hopefully it won't reflect too bad on my weigh in, but next week will deffinately be better. No more birthdays until October and I'm hoping to look significantly better for my 30th.
Erin: Sorry to hear that your having to go through this. But we're all still here for support. |

well nori..my weigh in was 230.. i am hopeful it will be like 228-229 by wed.. i have been so so good and not eating even 1 bite past 8 pm..just water,,, i feel really swollen today.. must be the heat i think.. i have to make myself go to sleep it is 1 am and I am not really tired yet.. and congrats on the 218!! yeah woo hoo!!!!

Well it is almost 2 am (my little guy has a really bad cough) so it has been a night lacking of sleep and right now I think I am on a caffeine high.
Tuesday night I will be off to the gym to review the equipment and do my initial assessment. I am excited and glad I am going forward with this. Thank goodness my grandmother nad parents are around to watch Ethan when I go. Especially since my grandmother is still living with me she will help put Ethan to bed/listen for him when he goes to bed or alsleep and I will squeeze my workout in in the mroning before he gets up or after he is getting ready for bed. Oh, the location of the gym is the best thing. It is right outside my community so there is no excuse that it is too far away. Everything is going well. Tomorrow I will use the scale at the gym as a starting point and then will try to only weigh in on Mondays. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care, Erin |

tonight is weigh in night but I'm not sure I'm going. I know the scales will be up cause for one I didn't do great over the weekend. (and the first week is suppose to be the best) but I also now have a cast on my foot and I don't know how much it weighs. I stepped wrong and it snapped the bone in my foot that runs from the pinky toe to the heel. I heard it pop and it hurt but I went on with my day. I took my youngest to have his 1 year old picture done but by the time I left the photo place it was hurting pretty bad. So I went to the doctor and he said it was broken. I figured something was wrong but since I was still able to walk I figured it wasn't broken. Anyway, It's really hard. Right now i just have a temperary cast but I haven't been able to get to the orthopedic doctor to have the real cast put on cause I don't have anybody to watch the boys for me to go. I really need the real one cause I can't get around at night to tend to the baby with this one on. These crutches are painful. My good leg hurts really bad and is extremely tired from carrying all the weight and my hands hurt from useing the crutches.

My little guy, most likely has bronchatis. The nurse suggested I take him back in tomorrow morning to the doctor and get him to double check him out. I went to the gym tonight and meet with one of the trainers. He and I are going to meet on Monday to get a routine going. With everything going on I can spend the extra on a trainer, but of course he said he will be around to help me out with equipment. I think I will go in for a bit tomorrow to get use to going and get some time in on the treadmill. I also am getting back into putting in writing everything what goes in my mouth. Quick check in here. I've been busy and not feeling so great. I had an IUD inserted and I've been having some pretty bad pain and cramps. hopefully it'll get better soon. We are going to Oregon this weekend. It's supposed to be 109-111 over the weekend here and cooler in OR!!
Sorry about your little one being sick, Erin. It's so hard. I'm getting back into writing everything down too. It goes so much better when I do that and I see results! DUH! Hope the foot gets better soon Serena. Maintaining is so much better than gaining, Kim. That's what I keep telling myself recently. I'll check back in on Monday when we get home. I broke my foot monday morning. I went to the urgent care facility at about 3:30 that afternoon. They put a temporary cast on it and gave me crutches and made me an appointment for 8:00 the next morning to go to the orthopeodic doctor to have a real cast put on it. Well, I had to search for someone to watch the boys and my sister did it but she acted like it was a bit of an inconvenience. I got there and the doctor was in emergency surgery so they had to reschedule. I rescheduled for 2:40 that afternoon but had to call and cancel cause I couldn't find anyone to watch the boys. So they scheduled me for Thursday afternoon at 4:00. Got there. He said I didn't need a cast, it should heel on it's on. I think he just didn't want to do it cause I don't have insurance. Anyway he gave me an ugly little shoe to wear but the temporary cast felt better,especially since the boys keep stepping on my foot. So I put the temporary cast back on last night before bed.
I didn't go to weigh in so I don' t know how I did but the having to use a crutch and hurt foot thing has helped cause I'm too tired to go to the kitchen and fix anything to eat. Unfortunately I'm alone with the boys for most of the day so I'm still up constantly doing for them but I can't carry my youngest around so he's been acting like he doesn't really like me too much lately. Which is also why I'm having to stay at my moms so she can help with him at night. |
well my wi on wed was good..-2 pounds from last week.. and I snuck a peek this am and hope the scale gods will keep those numbers coming down... it read another -2 pounds so I think I will be avging about 1.5-2 lbs a week using ww ..cause I lost 4 lbs in 17 days... so not bad..

Kim: I am on the FP plan also but last night I went to Shoneys so I know I had to have used all of my extras already. I didn't really want to go but the husband practically begged me to go. I haven't been active at all other than this past week hopping around on one foot or using crutches, which is an extreme workout in itself. When I tried to go back on WW a few months ago I was using my elliptical everyday for atleast 10 minutes but I haven't used it recently. Hopefully it will get better though.

Kim - awesome job on your weigh in! Nori - Hope you had a great weekend away . Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Weigh in this morning and I am down to 276. I am glad I am back in the swing of things. Tomorrow I go to the gym for the final showing of equipment and to see the trainer again to go over a work out example program. Then I will be getting in there at a min of three times a week (another goal to add to my list). This weekend had some hard emotional parts due to the separation/divorce. I know it will be hard and I am trying to stay strong (thanks for the vent space). The little guy is feeling better. Just a cough. We went in the pool for about 30 min today. After I put him to bed I will get some lap time in as long as my grandmother can listen out for him while he is going asleep. |

Kim - you will get back on track with the points. It can be hard on the weekends, but I know you will get back on track I hope everyone is doing well. I am going to head over to the gym in a little bit (I want to wait until the little gets off into bed). Figured I will start of trying to get in 30 - 45 minutes on the machines to start off. Weigh in was last night. I'm down 2.8 pounds. That's not really alot for my first 2 weeks back on WW but I guess it's better than being 2.8 heavier. Don't really have much to report on today.

Nori - how are you doing? I hope the cramps are getting better. I will be off to the gym tonight. I think I will try out the bikes and try to do a mile on the treadmile. The other night I did 30 minutes as a start and I felt ok with that. Tonight, I am going to try 45 minutes. I just want to make sure I am ok the next day and I do not over do it. Thanks, Erin - yes I feel 100% now. The cramps and bleeding only lasted a couple days. AND, congrats on getting back into your groove with the weight loss! Do you have a fitness center where you live? And a pool? Sorry about all the stress right now. I don't have experience, but I know people pull through these difficult times as stronger people all the time. Doesn't make it any easier though. ((HUGS)) Please feel free to vent anytime here. Do you have people irl that "understand" and can support you? I pray so.
Kim - I see that you made it to the 20's! WTG! I think Mo is in Ireland? And Sarah will not have internet connections up after moving until the second week in August... Miss you girls! well my weigh in puts me in the 220's.. 228.5 to be exact so that is down by 1.5 pounds... so woo hooo.... keeping op.. it is working and I keep on truckin.. did not drink much water today cause we were out hope the scales don't have me swollen tomorrow.. I know I should not evwen loook at them til next week but i just can't help it.. I am obsessed... but anyways.. serena.. OMG awesome job!!! you were worried about a gain so it is great news.. just think of 2 and 1/2 boxes (pounds) of butter,, taped to your thighs...butt.. or wherever,.. now gone.. get the visual.. it is amazing to think of it in those terms but get the visual on the pounds we're losing and we could fill a huge cart! erin.. how is your son doing?? great going keeping up the gym!! I can't stick to that .. Ilike to work out at home.. so far..maybe once I am more in shape and finances are a bit bet4ter.. so u weighin in on monday?? nori, sarah, and mo hi!! see ya..Kim |

I can already tell this week is gonna be a bad one. I've already used a large portion of my extra points and I'm only in day 2, plus I haven't had much in the way of vegetables the last few days either. I'm getting around pretty good now but I can't put much weight on the arch of my foot so I still can't do any excercising. I don't think my doctor would want me doing any until it's completley heeled anyway but I think this would go better if I could exercise.

Serena - I'm sure you are supposed to be careful until it's healed up. I would be in SOOOO much trouble if I couldn't exercise. My weight loss is just poking along. I've only lost 16 pounds over the last 4 months. (I've lost many inches though.) I know that averages out to 1 pound a week and that's what "they" say is a good pace. BUT!!! I'm not sure what to change up right now. Lower overall calories? Lower carbs? Less exercise? Different exercises? I'm in a rut for sure and with this much still to lose it's frustrating. I'm not discouraged though. I feel great physically and emotionally and know that I'm eating healthy and doing what's good for my body. I just wish the scale would start moving consistantly again. I know it will. It took me years to get this big and I'm ok with it taking time to get it off. I do feel like I need to change things up a bit though. Maybe I'll go search out other similar posts? I like the search mode here on 3FC's. |
When is everyone's "weigh in" day? Mine in Monday. Keeps me more accountable for my weekends which have a history of going a little crazy with higher calories.
