weigh in
My weigh in day is Tuesday. That is the only day that the leisure center has meetings and it's closest. Just about 2 or 3 miles up the road. Which brings me to my delima. We have a curves that just opened up right down the road and I've been thinking about joining. It's close it's only a 30 minute workout and it's structured. All the things I need, however, I also would like to go back to lady's choice fitness because they have all the equipment necessary, plus they have any aerobics scheduled throughout the day so you can do an aerobics class whenever it's convenient for you, which I believe I need aerobics more than equipment right now. The only thing about that is it's signifigantly farther away. I think that was the main factor that caused me not to go regularly last time I joined. And with gas being like it is I'm not sure it would be worth it. Anyway, I'll figure it out. I did see advertised a martial arts class that might be interesting.

my weigh in day is wed... but i just post here after i weigh in so you guys can see all my hard work... and adjust my ticker accordingly.. so i was in 220's but TOM is early..grrrrrr... perimenopause doc says... so who wouldn't want periods 16 days from the first day of the last one...? actually it was only 12 days since the end of the last one.. what's up with that????? oh well such is life..
so scales are reading up 3 lbs but i am not freaking out cause i know they will be down soon enough... well today I have 5 girls under 9 here... pool party for my 9 yr old before school starts..sleepover for a few... we are getting ready to do a couple crafts.. and animal charades.. they already did limbo and water balloon toss.. they are eating pizza and snacks just now.. i like them to have alot of fun at their parties!!! ooh i almost forgot i have to do face painting.... well see you all later..Kim |

Tonight was weigh in. I just knew I would have gained but I managed to lose 2 pounds. Thank goodness. Hopefully this week will be just has good. I plan on it cause I'll be back to my counting. I was looking into a water aerobics class that I saw advertised but they are morning classes and I have absolutely no one to watch the boys in the morning.

Hi girls, sorry for being away so long. I've been eating badly :o I was in Lake George last week and I leave this Saturday for Ireland so I won't be around again much for a couple more weeks. When I return I'm going to try to get back on the wagon. I really miss you girls! :hug:
Serena: congrats on your weight loss!!!! I am so proud of you. I can't believe you broke your foot, ouch, that stinks. I hope it gets better real soon. It sounds like the WW meetings are really working. The water aerobics sound great I hope you find a way to go. Nori: great photos on Mt. Ranier, wow snow in August! Great going on the weight loss 1 lb a week is super! Remember slow and steady wins the race. My bicycle has barely seen the road, it's been really hot here lately too, heat index over 100 the last few days. I was pretty active on vacation, volleyball, horse back riding, white water rafting, jet skiing, etc...but my left leg is paying for it now, it's been sore for the last 4 days. Erin: welcome back, I can't wait to catch up on everyone's posts. Sarah: I hope the move is going well, get that computer hooked up quick! Kim: I was laughing about the covered wagons and dusty trails, I think both of us have seen too many westerns! I have so much to do this week. The house is an absolute mess, I have to pack again for the four of us. I've been to the store the last 3 nights and I still have a few things that I forgot to get. I've got to clean out the dogs bowls and her bed and get her ready to bring down to my sisters house. We have to organize somone to clean the pool and water the flowers. Luckily we got a friend to drive us to the airport and pick us up because a limo would have been over $500 and long term parking at JFK would have been over $250!! DH and I agreed to try to clean the house before we leave. It's awful coming back to a dirty house....like I did last week! I overslept today and didn't get to work till 9, luckily boss wasn't here. I think I'll work through lunch and get home at a decent hour tonight. I'm tired of eating dinner at 9 pm! I warned the kids it would be a cleaning night and now my sister offered to take them to the movies late this afternoon. Maybe I should just let them go, they're not that much help cleaning anyway and I won't have any distractions! Have a great weekend and try to stay cool!!! Well weigh in was not a gain as I thought it may be.. it was TOM from thurs to mon.. but i actually lost 1/2 a pound.. go figure... hopefully this week will be 1 or more.. i can see and feel my body shaping down.. i love that.. tonite i feel really bloated.. i ate too much..dipped into flex biggggg time.. don't think i have any left til wed.. oops... well lots exercise will help offset soem too.. Serena..awesome job!! -2 wtg! hope your foot is healing good.. erin - glad your son is better.. let's hope for losses for our next weigh in.. i am rooting for you... Sarah..we miss you.. Nori.... i got to move my ticker just a bit this week.. did you??? I know when i travel it is really tough to stay 100% OP.. There has been so much going on. Weigh in was good -2.5. I only hit the gym 1 night, but have been in the pool (laps, treading water, water exercise) for 2 nights and I will be there during the weekend. It is already 86 here and it is not even 6 am. Nori - have you decided how to change up. I know I try to stagger the amount of exercise and calorie counts each day so there is less chance of a hitting a platatue. It seems to the be the best thing for me when I stay on track. Kim - thanks for the cheer! I am glad you are seeing results. Did you have a good time at the water park? Serena - How is the foot? Good job on the weight loss, but make sure you take it easy; do not want to hurt it again. Happy Friday, everyone!!! |

It looks like everyone is doing good. Today was a little tough for me. I've been feeling a lot hungrier than I have the last few days. I'm trying to save the last extra points for sunday dinner though. Anyway, my foot is feeling a little better. I'm walking on it better. Not much of a limp but it still hurts at certain angles.

Well the water park was alot of fun.. boy did I get those AP's in!! :running: phew!! alot of walking uphill for those tall water slides and tube slides.. awesome fun tho.. the kids..all 4 had a blast.. the youngest bethany wanted to go again tomorrow... lol.. my feet feel like they have been cut off and I am walking around on the stubs that are remaining.. ewww I know gross.. but they hurt alot!! but still great bonding with all the kids.. and even tho I am way overweight I held my own and still enjoyed every minute! One problemo.. funny.. I forgot the towels.. lol.. :dunno: we drip dried some and paper toweled off a little and I did bring a change of clothes for all so we were dry before we got into the van.. We picked up dominos pizza.. I have not had pizza in forever so I PIGGED out on 3 slices..:nono: I actually still feel sick from eating so much!! I usually will not be able to eat more than 2.. so lord knows what the scales will read tomorrow.. I am going to keep tomorrow very very light... don't want to mess up a good losing streak with bingeing(sp?) Boys have jr lifeguard practice tomorrow and sunday is their recognition picnic.. they have alot of fun and it is hard workk they run about 2 miles each time 3x a week... plus 1/2 mile swims in the ocean etc... and monday is their jr lifeguard competiton where all the different jr lifeguards from the area compete.. more for fun .. My boys are going to do the 1 mile swim and run relay and more.. but they are excited .. I will let you all know how that goes... Serena.. good for you saving up your points for that future event.. I love doing that.. it really is nice to count on it when u need it.. Erin.. great loss!!!! woo hoo.. wtg....I too get alot of summertime ap's without really trying.. Nori.. how is it going??? what is this weekend like for you?? Are you doing anymore traveling over the summer??? I am going to see my mom via plane on the 17th and driving back up here with her.. she is nervous to drive by herself.. never did it b4.. florida to de.. DH is in NC for a few days.. yeah no home cooked meals.. lol it is pizza, subs, easy stuff.. and eat whenever.. .. grab and go.. I like down time.... I will be good for the remainder of my week.. til wed... no free points to spare.. i am going into a mid life thing.. all my kids will be in school all day and i am wanting to work or go to school and learn a skill... I don't like the idea that i am not really trained in much to make a good living at it if i had to... not many really big companies near me either.. so i was thinking if i got trained or extra training in something that i am already good at it would be a worthwhile investment in me.. and I want to feel like i am using my brain... I was actually thinking asbout ultrasound techs.. I have seen all they do and I find it really interesting.. most of it... i just don't know.. I know I am pretty good with a computer, I am very creative,, smart (toot toot) , and not afraid of a challenge... any ideas?? suggestions?? :?: would love to hear them.. Well off to bed for me.. Kim: I've been trying to figure out what I want to do once all of mine (my boys)are in school but that won't be for another 4 years. My husband wants me to home school them but I'm ready to get back to work. I don't think I'll go back immediately though. I think I'll take a little of that time to catch up on some much needed me time, but I'm kind of hoping to get a job at the school so that we can have the same schedules.
It's only 1:30 and I've already used all of my daily points. I only have half of my weekly allowance points left but I'm trying to keep as many as possible for sunday dinner but I'm just feeling so hungry today. Oh well, I'll get by I guess. |

serena... i don't know if this will help you but at times it helps me feel full.. eat an apple and when u are really hungry try downing 1-2 glasses of water .. it should fill you up if your body is CRAVING something it will keep searching and you will keep eating til it finds what it needs.. well have a good one..Kim |

Glad you guys had a blast at the water park! Mucnkin & I had movie night last night. Includes pizza, candy, popcorn (all that stuff). I did enjoy some, but so much less than I would have in the past. I know it will be a while before I do it again too. My tummy was not to happy with me this morning and last night I had a hard time sleeping. I have reliezed I am 20% to my long term goal!! I know it does not seem like much, but to me it is motivation to move up the percentage. Got some yard work done this morning and hoping to get in the pool before I go to a cookout. I have been doing really well up until last night. The hubby brought the boys happy meals and then gave me fries and a plane cheese burger. I ate it but told him not to bring me anything anymore unless I ask. He was a little offended and was like I thought I was doing something nice. I just told him I know but it was way over my points. Anyway, Hopefully it won't show too bad on tuesday.

hi.. serena,, i think secretly those hubbys want us to stay a little over weight.. or else they really are dense! lol.. if dh brought me one.. I scape off the cheese... rinse or dap grease off and cut up into a salad no roll... save those extra wasted points for a real indulgence not a boring mcd's cheeseburger... i find if I just even get a taste of something like that it is enough to just fill the what have i been missin gap.. now the other nite was another story.. we ordered dominos pizza.. well I had 3 slices before i knew what hit me.. i just haven't had that taste in such a long time i dived in!!! i was within points but all that sodium and cheese.. i am paying for it now 2 days later... scales are up.. so gotta be very very good next three days!!!!!! actually two..my new week starts wed.. best to you..Kim

Tuesday night was weigh in. I lost 1.2 pounds. Which is really a surprise since the weekend didn't really go well AND I'm bloated. So maybe if I can do right this week by next week I'll really do well cause I'll lose the regular weight and the bloatedness. Something I"ve really been craving lately is gourmet coffee. I worked at the mall about 6 six years ago and I use to get gourmet coffee on a regular basis. (Which of course helped to get me into my current predicament, along with the gourmet cookie shop and the candy store located in the mall)
Kim: I have a real weekness for pizza. The sad thing is, it doesn't really even have to taste that great. Did you ever taste the double decker pizza that dominos sold for awhile. It had some kind of cream cheese filling between the layers. It's a good thing they stopped making it cause I'd have pizza every other night. |
well my weigh in had me up 1 pound!! yikes... first gain a 2 months... well gotta payt more attention to nite time snacking.. right now i am soo tired but i have to pay more attention to my nite time eating.. well i will check in later..kim

well it is almost 9 pm and i am out of points and I am hungry... i will go drink 2 glasses of water and see if that helps!! I know thre is always veggies.. where is everybody??? My MIL just left ..she was here since thurs! I am tired.. I leave for florida..(flying) on thurs so I can drive up with my mother back to where i started...hmmmm.... she wants to drive up but nervous her 1st time driving north without her husband,..he dies 5 yrs ago..

I don't know what it is about the weekend that is so hard for me. My week starts on wednesday and I do great wed, thurs and friday but after that I just do horribly. I'm sure it's gonna show tomorrow at weight in.
I colored my hair last night and I"ve had a head ache ever since. I'm not sure I like the color. My natural probably looked better. the husband didn't have anything to say about it. |
Serena - Hope your headache goes away. What kind of color did you use? I just started using Garnier Nutrisse and I love it. I struggle on the weekends most of all also. I guess since I'm out of my normal routine?

momto2- I used clairol hydrience. I chose a blond and in the past the colors have lightened my hair really well but this time it didn't really take. Of course right before I colored my hair I noticed my hair seemed much darker than i remembered, so I don't really like the shade it turned it.
I weighed in last night. I lost 1 pound. So since i started back "officially" i have lost 7 pounds. I can't really see the difference yet. My pants are just as difficult to put on as before, but my mom said she can tell. OK I need opinions. My sister-in-law just bought a house and is having a house warming. I want to get her something neat but don't want to spend much money. Any ideas? |
Can you offer to make some food for the event? And then maybe just a small gift? A set of glasses. Tablecloth?

I actually came up with a gift idea while searching the net. I think I might get one of the "new home" christmas ornaments. I know it's early in the year but that's a gift that I would appreciate. We always do collectors ornaments every year for our kids and ourselves.
I did a christmas gift one year for everyone and called it the winter survival kit. I put coffee, hot chocolate and all the makings for smores in a bag and the dollar store had 500 piece puzzles for $1 so I put one in each bag. It was a big hit, and cheap. That's something the husband and I use to love to do when it was just the 2 of us is put puzzles together. |
Christmas ornament is a GREAT gift! I love that and am glad you mentioned it. One of my sisters is getting married next month and I'll include one! I get my girls a "special" ornament each Christmas also. (I cheat kinda - I go to the After-Christmas sales and get the next years ornaments - so like a $25 ornament for $5-$10!)

Hi there! Today "The Biggest Loser" is starting inmy office! I decided to join for the 12 weeks. It's $5/wk and at the end of the 12 weeks the person with the biggest % loss gets the pot of $. I doubt I'll win it all, because I already heard that a couple of the gals will be doing the "starvation" thing, and I will not, but it will hopefully get all my engines up and running and the accountability will help me out. I'm tired of just maintaining.

You never know, you might win cause the starvation thing doesn't work as well as people think it does. If you starve yourself long enough it will start to work but when someone stops eating, the body starts to store fat cause it knows it's starving and needs to store fat to survive.

Hey girls, I'm back and fatter than ever! We got back after midnight Sunday so I took off Monday. I started back at work yesterday and weighed in at gulp....210 lbs!! I definitely need to regroup and start a diet again this week. I'll write again soon after the boss leaves to catch up with everyone. I 've missed you all :hug:

Momto2: A specific setting might have accidently gotten set on your computer. Some sort of corrector thing. If my kids get on the computer they usually find functions that I didn't even know existed.
Weight in was last night. I gained a 1/2 pound. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be but bad enough. I was hoping to be signifigantly smaller when we go to the mountains in October but at this rate it just isn't gonna happen. I'm hungry right now but I ate too much for breakfast and need to hold out for awhile. |
hi everyone!! Well just back from Florida.. flew down and drove back with my mom.. she decided she is taking the auto train home..LOL !! anyways.. I lost a pound while away..woo hoo.. got a tremendous backache tho too much dancing or maybe the couch sleeping hurt it... any ways.. I am down to 227.5 and looking forward to lower 20's... Starting over....
I haven't begun to start over yet, I'm trying to psyche myself into it. I bought a new WW magazine at the grocery store but haven't opened it yet. I also saw on TV that they have free registration at WW. I'm debating on whether or not to join, I have one about 10-15 minutes away, I wish there were one closer. DH bought a TON of candy home from vacation, he somehow manages to keep his weight down though. He was 190 before vacation and 200 coming back but I'm sure he'll lose his quickly by keeping active. My left calf is still hurting me. It may be because of the lump on my foot (that needs to be surgically removed but I'm a chicken) is making me walk funny. From the back of my knee half way down my calf feels like a pulled muscle. I've been taking ibuprofen w/ codeine I bought over the counter in Ireland. It works good but I only have 5 pills left :?: I wish I had the time and money to go to a fat farm and get the first 35 lbs off. Meal planning is my big downfall...enough of this negative talk...I need to start thinking positive.

We had one here at work a few years ago but some of the girls were mad because they felt the girl who won cheated...but I was the one who weighed her in so I know she didn't. What started out as a fun contest ended up in bitter resentment. I hope yours works out better ;) Serena: I forgot what happened to your foot, I hope it's doing better. If I remember correctly, a small McD's burger isn't that many points.
