Celeste: I know what you mean. Jessica is in Mother's morning out 3x a week. I don't know how I will handle her riding on the bus...But, Jessica does love school. Just like Nemo does she says. I hope that you do not get down on yourself. I think that you look great!
Melanie: Great to hear from you. Wow, so you maybe moving. We are planning on moving in the spring time. Just 15 mins. away. We want to get in a better school system. I could really understand how you were challange when you were looking for houses. We are leaving on vacation this weds. I think that it was great that you workout. I am planning to do that too. I know that it will be hard for me.
Well, Today is week two of my body for life contest. I have lost 3 pounds. From tues-tues. Also, I love to watch the biggest loser on TV. I have friends who do not like it and friends who love it. I look at it, like these are people who want to lose weight and change their lives for good. Alot of my friends feel that it makes fun of over weight people. What do you gals think? Does it help you or hamper you?
Rikki - I am right there with ya, we just got hop back on
Karen - Way to go on the 3 lb loss - you are awesome, I hope you are top 5!! Also, just remember to enjoy your vacation and try to make healthy choices......if you can't, then just eat smaller portions than usual and if anything that will help you to maintain your weight instead of gain like I did! I like the show Biggest Loser, I don't see it as making fun of overweight people, I see it as each person dedicating themselves to a better way of life, so I agree with you.......it's inspiring.
Debbie - Glad to know you are plugging along, you are doing so great!
Hey Mel and everyone. I guess everyone had a busy day? I know I did and it's not even close to being over, I have so much homework to do, darn you college!
Anyways...
I got back from the gym a while ago, I did the ab class and the camp 24 thing again. It's definitely a kick me in the butt class, I love it because of that. I can make it through the whole class, but while some people are going up and down very quickly on their step, I'm slowly marching along. I guess now I have a fitness goal, I want to be able to go through that entire class and keep up with the instructor, even through the, "here is the modified harder version" parts.
I'm okay on the exercise portion for now, but am clueless on how I'm eating. Well, I mean, I know what I'm eating, I just have NO clue how many calories it is, the cafeteria doesn't have nutrition information, so I'm left to guess. I already know I can't have the corn, green beans, peas, cauliflower or broccoli cause it's all SWIMMING in butter. It's disgusting, really. But I don't know how anything else is prepared, it's not like I can taste the butter in everything. I guess I'll just continue to keep my portions small and just kind of let it be a guessing game, that's really the only thing I can think of.
Okay, that was a mouthful. I hope you all are doing well. Don't let gains slow you down. Just think of it as a long walk, and along the way there are big hills (weight gains) and then the other side of the hill which is downhill (weight loss). Just think of how awesome it is to get to the end of a long walk and then think of how much more awesome it'll be to get to your goal weight. Did that make any sense???
Hi all! I had a great day with my exercise and eating. Could have had more water but didn't have regular pop so that's something. It's quiet here today. I hope everyone is having fun! :-)
Wednesday is my official weigh in day and I am down 3.2 lbs from last week. It is also my one month anniversary of being on this diet!! Altogether I have lost 17.4 lbs! I'm pretty happy although I missed the goal set by the clinic by 1lb!!!
Hey everyone. Geesh how did all get so busy. Ain't it wonderful that we are all doing so good and able to be so busy instead of sitting around getting fatter. I kept my tootie bell ( she is two ) all day yesterday and decided heck let her spend nite. Geesh I am about to drop lol. I remember why I sent hubby to chop shop after my daughter was born. I don't think I could do it again lol. Well back off to the races to see what she has planned now. I am still doing good and barely have time to peek in any more. Toot here helping me type. Wow gone now keep up good work
I got on the scale this morning and it said 201, yay! But I'm not going to actually count the weight till Sunday morning, so hopefully I can manage to stay at 201 or lower...ackk!!
Hey guys! How is every one doing? I'm so sorry I haven't checked in much. I hope you're all doing well! I got on the scale and it said 203. I dunno where I was last week, lol. But dammit, I keep staying around this weight and it's pissing me off. I want to be at 202 or 201 next week, and I'm gonna DO IT. I'm sick of this! I want to be in the 100's!
I will read what everyone has said in a bit. Oh and I got a new KITTY! I'll post pics later. He's SO cute! I love him! His name is Taco. :P
Nikki - I know the feeling of staying the same weight, it is aggrevating! You can do it, just kick it up a knotch. I am not even going to weigh in today because I ate out all last week on vacation, plus I went out w/ my hubby last night at a fondue restaurant for our 4 yr anniversary........if anything it would just discourage me from picking up and doing better this coming week.......so I will weigh in next friday and I'll be lucky if I maintained!
Just a quick hello. This must be a busy time for everyone! I hope everyone is doing well and making those healthy choices! I feel like this whole "lifestyle change" is getting easier and making more sense but I am worried about losing that focus. Do you know what I mean? I mean, I am motivated now but what happens when that is gone?? Just questions I am pondering in my sleep deprived state. Later...Rikki
I found this interesting website..it tells you what your "ideal" weight should be, according to your measurements and how active you are. It says mine should be 149. Which is much more realistic for me than 139. I just don't see how in the world I can get that low, I've NEVER been that low.
I haven't been running as much as I would've liked. DH is sick, which means he's unable to watch our daughter. And now Kalynn's sick, so I'm taking care of two sickies.
Rikki, as far as the lifestyle change, it's become almost second nature. I say almost because there are days I still struggle. I still snack but I choose healthier snacks. I don't even buy junk anymore, it's gotta be out of my house, so that helps too. It's definitely hard to keep that motivation. There are days that I just don't want to run but I like my size 8's and 10's so that's enough motivation for me!
My name is Deanna and I am 22 years old and I live in Orlando Florida. I am married to my wonderful Husband, Phillip, and we have 3 'furbabies' (in my siggie). I need to loose around 100 pounds but my first goal is 50.
I stay at home and watch toddlers (and babies) all day/during the work week so I do get a lot of exercise that way! But, it's not enough. I love what I do and have been doing it for 4 years. I am tired of the excuses and wining about not being healthy. That's my main concern..being healthy..eating right and with regular exercise. I'm ready and determined!
I guess I'll "hold down the fort" while everyone's gone!
Getfitt, of course you can join the group! Welcome! I like your main concerns, those are mine too..healthy eating, and regular exercise. I'm right there with you! I wish you lots of good luck in your weight loss and keep us updated on how you're doing! This is definitely a fun bunch of people. Are you sticking to calorie counting or some other plan or just eating healthy?
