  • Debbie, what about eating from the food pyramid? I think the website is www.mypyramid.com You will get everything you need to keep you healthy. Moderation is key.
  • UGGGH!! IE crapped out on me and lost my post.

    Rikki-Woohoo!! Congrats!!!!

Debbie-Really, all WW's is, is to teach you portion size and making correct choices, and eating things in moderation, and exercise. I know for me, my biggest problem was the portion size. I was eating probaby 2 to 3 times what a serving should be.

Here's a good website to demonstrate what correct portions are:
    http://www.eatright.org/Public/Nutri...ndex_16264.cfm

And a quick quiz to see if you know what portion sizes are: http://www.intelihealth.com/IH/ihtIH...l?d=dmtContent

    Hope everyone is doing well!
  • Weigh in!
Today is my weigh in day which I have been dreading!! But it turned out okay! I am down 3 lbs to 190.2!
  • Great job Shirah! Don't you feel so good?

I'm still sick, ugh. I haven't been counting calories or anything! And I have been eating what I want, but it's not always unhealthy, so that is good. I'm just bummed that my exercise has to be put on hold like this, when I was doing so good. Wait, did I already say that? LOL Oh well.
  • Shirah, CONGRATS!!!

Nicki, just get back into it. Start counting calories again and just do it (nike really is smart for that quote thing). It's so worth it, it's gonna be awesome when we're under 200 then at our goal weights and looking even more hot than we already do, for real.

I went to the gym yesterday and sweated my big behind off on the elliptical for an hour then did weights, I'm going to an ab class tonight and then some other aerobic-type class. I think I'm at 205-210, but I'm not going to weigh myself until Sunday morning. I've been doing much better with food, I got a bunch of bananas and have been eating one or two at night to fill me up and LOTS AND LOTS of water.

Hope you all are doing awesomely and if not, get back with it!
  • Thanks for all the info. It is so hard to learn to eat right. I am just focusing on one day at a time and it seems to be working. All of you gals are great help. I hope you get to feeling better.
  • Way to Go!!!! Shirah and Rikki on your weight loses!!!!

Haley: You are doing so very well with your workouts! Boy, you are putting 110% in it. I bet you will have lost some weight soon. I can see that you are not a slave to your scale. I guess, sometimes it can be a good thing not to have one!

Debbie: It took me along time to find out what work for me with weight loss, but if I found out about this site, I would have gotten to my goal faster. Hope that things are getting back to normal for you. You are one sexy hot mama!

Rikki: I love moving my thingy too! It makes me feel that I am getting closer....

Nicki: Just get back on when you are feeling better. Maybe, just focus on the eating instead of the working out. I hope you get well soon!

Melanie: I was thinking about how the auditions went. Remember, when this thread started you said that you were going to audition for american idol.

Celeste: I think our little gals, may have been born the same year. Jessica was born 12-18-02. She can not get enough of Dora.

Well gals have a good nite!

    Karen
  • Shirah--CONGRATS! That is great!

Karen--your note on Dora wasn't for me but I had to comment because my house is all about Dora right now! My kids are not yet 2 but they walk around saying "backpack" all day long.

I had an almost perfect day. If I hadn't gone to my parents' for supper, I would have been good. Although, I did say no to dessert there. I just ate way too much supper and had a pop.

Well, have a great night ladies. Rikki
  • Shirah, way go to on your weight loss!!! That is awesome!!!

Debbie, I hear ya! It is very hard to learn to eat right. I still struggle with it.

Nicki-You poor thing!! I hope you get better! It sucks being sick.

Haley-Good for you for getting better with food!

Karen, Yup! Our girls were born in the same year! Kalynn was born 8/12/2002. She is ALL about Dora. And now it's Diego too
  • Just had to say I got back from the gym and oh my god...The ab class was so hard, I'm surprised I finished it then there was some Camp24 (I go to 24 hour fitness) and it included a step thing, jump rope, and weights, oh man I'm even MORE suprised I finished that one. I just know I'm going to be so sore tomorrow. I better have burned like 1000 calories for all that crap. I'm definitely doing more classes, too, it's so fun to switch up the routine and makes the time fly by faster. I'm going to take a shower cause I feel majorly sweaty.
  • I just had to send another quick note to say Haley, you are amazing! I am so impressed with your dedication. I agree--mixing up exercise is so important to me because I get bored.
  • Shirah and Rikki - Way to go on your loss!

Haley - You are doing such a good job on working out - keep it up and you will be as amazed with yourself as we all are with you!

Nicki - Feel better! I agree with Karen, since you can't do anything about working out while you are sick, just eat well since you do have control over that.

Karen - After camping out on the ground (& getting no sleep)to wait for wristbands so that I could audition and then having to come back the next day at 5 am and being told by one of the producers that what they are looking for is good tv, not necessarily "real talent".....I realized the American Idol audition thing was a big joke.....they make it seem like in each place they audition they have all these terrible singers & one good one.......they also make it seem like everyone gets to audition for Simon, Paula and Randy, when in reality, they make you go through 2 rounds of auditions with AI employees before you are even seen by the tv judges. Before I auditioned, I watched 250 people audition (most all of them had good voices)in a huge auditorium and only 5 passed through the 1 round. One of them that passed through couldn't sing, but he didn't have a great image either, so I am not sure how he got through? They were looking for people who stood out more than they were looking for people with good voices.....I am not all that flamboyant, but I can sing, so I guess they were looking for something else. I would feel bad about it except that I saw people with even greater vocal ability than me that didn't make it through. It's all about ratings At least I got the curiosity out of my system though
  • Melanie, I've heard things like that to about AI, about how they just want good tv not great singers. So, you're too good for them.

I can't even explain how sore I am, it's mostly my butt. I did do a bunch of lunges during the class, but I didn't think that would be the part that hurt the most. I wish I could sit in a big hot tub and just relax right now, but I have class and no hot tub, oh well! The week is almost over, keep making good choices!

I think I'm going to try to the turbo kickboxing class again at my gym if I'm not to sore to move by then.
  • I just wanted to pop in and say hey to all. I am still around lol. Today went on house cleaning tangent and to tired to even move. It looks like everyone is doing so great and I agree I would have been going lot faster if I had found this site sooner. I don't bother with the scales anymore because I get to depressed. I do know clothes are fitting good and I feel better. Thanks Karen I actually even feel like sexy hot mama now. Well eyes closing here. Congrads on everyone doing so good. nite nite
  • Hello everyone. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I will be out of town so here's hoping I can stay on plan and eat out!
