Good morning ladies. Got to sleep in a little this morning. Can't believe the boys let me do that but I have to get moving. Getting a haircut or trim really today and have to do the grocery shopping for my big camping trip. I leave on Tues. This will take a lot of planning and packing. I'm really excited but it is a lot of stuff to pack. I have to get the dog baracade out of the back of my car and that is going to be a project, LOL.

Actually a couple other strange things happened to me this week. As I told you I don't really do my Internal Medicine anymore so I had been debating about whether or not I want to retake my test and keep up my certification. Most medical specialties require you to take a test every 10 years to make sure you are staying up to date. I finally sent in the form saying I would recertify but still not sure I would do it (I don't have to take the test for 5 years yet). Well, in no time flat they sent me a bill for $700 which is the complete cost of the recertifying program and the first little module you have to complete which has about 60 questions on it with a due date in Sept!! So much for being ambivalent about this. I find as I read the questions I immediately know what the diagnosis is which is reassuring but that isn't usually what they want to know. The questions are things like, what is the next test you would order? or what is the next step in management? That gets harder since I don't do this anymore.

Hope I'm not boring you to death. Sunshine-you are on fire! Congrats on the 7 lbs. TOM is not so nice to me. I only get 1 lb this week because of his visit.

Java-great to have you back.

Hi Gals

I only did two miles on the outdoor track last night. I was over dressed and got too hot, but I did it. And I actually made myself do the 1 mile WATP today because I won't be working out after work tonight. I have to get up early for a detail.

So for tonight, I'm stuck at work... but at least it's "sort of" my Friday. So glad the site is finally working again. I was getting worried.

Oh and I can't WAIT until I get to camping again! I love it. Pooh is the best camping buddy.... he sort of does it ALL! Sets up the camp, chops the wood, cooks and makes sure I'm a very happy Turtle. He even makes me coffee on the fire in the morning. Deep breath in through the nose, Ahhhh smell that? It doesn't get much better than the smell of the great outdoors of West Virginia (free of pollution) the smell of woodsmoke, coffee and maybe a little breakfast cooking too. I envy you, Petra. I hope you have a wonderful time.

To the rest of you... have a great week end. Stay OP and enjoy yourself. The Turtle is BAAAAACCCCCCK

Morning Ladies :coffee:. I just have to say coffee is a wonderful thing!!! I went out on the boat yesterday with dh, ds and the baby. Oldest dd did not want to go. She is a party pooper. Anyway it was really fun. I was totally worried that the baby was going to get scared or not listen but she was good and actually got into the lake with dh and ds. She sat on my lap in the open bow and when dh went fast she kept saying GO.

Curly - I'm glad you joined to. I love going to curves and can actually feel some muscle under the fat . How often are you going to go?

Lisa - I always do the elliptical first then the treadmill. The elliptical is still kicking my :censored: but I think I am getting better.

Petra - The baby actually let me sleep in yesterday to. What's up with that? I go to curves at 8 on Saturday and she did'nt wake up until 7:45. Not that I'm complaining. So it looks like you are going to be doing some studing with clipclop and moon.

Hotcup - Great job on the exercise!!!! :strong: I'm so proud of you for climbing back on board. That part is even harder then getting yourself to exercise. Give yourself a big pat on the back.

Have a great day and TTYL.

Somehow I had a horrible eating day yesterday. Not sure how it happened. I didn't eat cake or anything, just too many fruits and veggies and not enough protien. At then end of the day I had something like 54 grams of carbs and 60 grams of protein. What was up with that? I'm making sure I get this day off on the right foot. I've already had 2 eggs, and bacon. No fruit. I have to watch it with the fruit.

Yes, I've joined the ranks of the studying folks. I've done about 20 questions so far. I'm not one to wait until the last minute.

Well I'm busy getting ready for my trip. Doing laundry which I get to hang out on the line today. I actually like hanging my laundry out for some strange reason. I made my nut and seed trail mix to take along. Hard boiling some eggs. Got the dog baracade out of the car. Things are coming along. I hope I don't forget anything important.

Java-great job on the 2 miles. You need to stop being so hard on yourself woman.

TTYL

HOTCUP ~ you are doing so well with your exercise.... wish I could say them same. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

LISA ~ how did your WI go ? I am sure it was a success.

MOM ~ have to agree with you on the coffee... during the week I only drink a cup a day, but the weekends I seem to go all out... maybe it is a studying thing ! Oh well, better the coffee than eating garbage (which is what I use to do!)

PETRA ~ sounds like you made a great start to your day. I am looking forward to a little holiday too.. but probably not until the end of July. Good job at getting some of your questions done already !

Well back to the land of textbooks for me. I will come up for air again tomorrow morning and check in with you all. Until then have a great Sunday, stay strong, stay OP, drink your water, and keep on keeping on !!!

Welcome Amanda. I believe you are our second Canadian. You seem to really like the dancing banana man, LOL. This is a good group but the thread can be a little quiet on the weekends.

curlylocks 06-26-2005 06:20 PM

Hi amanda!!! welcome to the group!!!

Hotcupojava 06-26-2005 07:23 PM

Short one for sure

Welcome Amanada. You'll LOVE it here. I know I do. :smug:

Short post for me! I think I may have just barely headed off heat exhaustion (or am possibly suffering from a mild case of it). I directed traffic, no shade, on black top for over six hours in full sun and over 96 degree temperatures. I heard a rumor that one of the competitors died during the competition (a triathlon). I drank lots of water, but eventually my perspiring stopped and my faced dried to a dusty/powdered salt grit. I was concerned, that's not normal to stop sweating like that :( . Now, I'm feeling pretty rough, headache, fatigue and some muscle cramps. I'm following all good advice and I'm drinking plenty and trying to replace my electrolites (or whatever those thingies are called). I've had two naps and will go back soon. My sister, "The Exercise ****" is here using my "gym" so I'm just up to keep her company. I'll be back in the morning to post a journal an on the thread here. Good luck to everyone. Enjoy your evening.

RasberryIce 06-26-2005 09:01 PM

I feel Welcomed!

Hi Everyone,

Do I ever feel welcomed, Im glad to hear that you drank tonnes of water being outside all day in the heat...hotcupojava.

Today I did great. I ate tonnes for veggies for supper. and I took the skin and fat off of my chicken thigh. I walked thos morning and plan on going for another walk tonight. Tomorrow I am going to curves for an areobic class. It's really neat cause when you are on the mats you got areobics it get more bang for your buck. a wayyy harder workout. Hope you all had a great day , and I great day tomorrow ;)

Talk to you all later,
Amanda

~~Sunshine~~ 06-26-2005 11:08 PM

Hello and Welcome Amanda!!!

Lisa_WY 06-26-2005 11:31 PM

Howdy All,
I was so busy yesterday I didn't get a chance to check in. I loss.....drum roll...LOL 2.6lbs. I was a little disappointed considering all the exercise I did....but I think I blew it on Friday with the ice cream and dinner..but it hasn't detoured me none. After meeting, I called Dave..he said nothing in the house to eat..come home and we will go out for breakfast. Nope..I went to the grocery store! BY MYSELF!! (haven't done that in a long time. LOL) Came home and made breakfast. Jimmy Dean has a lower fat sausage. After breakfast, I mowed the lawn while it was still cool out. Then we went to Mallissa's gym competetion. She did well...and did level 3 on the floor, beam and vault. I was really surprised at how well she is vaulting. Then she did level 1 on bars. I asked her about that she said...level 1 was easier and she had the skills. LOL She could do the level 3 skills but wanted to work on them more.

After the gymastics meet we went to do our normal running around. Then I came home and road my bike for 8 miles by myself. I even went up the corkscrew ramp over the highway overpass. Dave made hot dogs and sausage on the grill for dinner... I bought the fat free hotdogs and they were good. I got to have 2. LOL After dinner, M, her friend and I went bike riding to the park. It is about a 3-1/2 mile trip.

Today, we skipped church. We did go to the Y in the afternoon. I did my normal routine but increased my ellipitical to 20 minutes. Bike riding was out because we had a storm come in. Dave made boneless pork chops on the grill and I made a huge garden salad and a fruit salad.

My goals this week are to get to the gym at least twice more. I am going to try to work that out with Dave. I know he will go with me one night a week but I doubt I can drag him there twice. So I might have to do just swimming once instead of working out. Tomorrow night I am going to walk on the greenway while M is at gymnastics...and I might try jogging a little. I have increased my steps on the treadmill and I think I am ready.

I have been using WW etools to track my food and exercise. I think that has really helped me.

Well..I need to head to bed. Long day tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great week.
Hugs and Blessings,
Lisa
