Sigh
I'm still here. I'm trying to fight my way back to drinking water and exercising. I've not gone off the deep end with my food, but I haven't been able to get back into the habit of exercising. I work just one day (today) and then I'm off two more days. I weigh in on Monday. So I'll have to do SOMETHING! It's not like I've fallen off the wagon, but how do you get yourself back in the groove. Think about it, Turtle. Move it Turtle.
I hope you all have a great week end. |
Good Morning ! Just popping in quickly to say
Mom ~ glad that you got a diagnosis and great news about the breast reduction. Now you really have a goal to work towards !! Hotcupojava ~ way to hang in there. You will get back on track.. good luck with the WI on Monday. Curlylocks ~ love the new avatar.. very sweet !! Not much going on with me, so just a quick post today. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.. TTYS !! Here's a little motivation for the day... Small change Somewhere in your life right now there is a small, positive change you can make in the way you live each day. When you make that small change, and stick with it, the results can profoundly influence your entire world. Perhaps it's a destructive habit that you can choose to leave behind forever. Or maybe it's a useful action that you can add to your daily routine. It could be something as simple as choosing to start each day with a smile instead of with a complaint. Or you could identify something that has always made you angry and just decide that you're not going to let it get to you anymore. Your life is filled with opportunities for making small, positive changes. When you look for them, you'll see those opportunities in every direction. Even one small change can have a large positive impact on your life because the benefits of that small change are repeated day after day. Keep adding more small, positive changes from time to time, and the results can be truly incredible. Give yourself the gift today of a small positive change in your life. And continue to enjoy the rewards you receive far into the future. -- Ralph Marston |
Hi Ladies,
sounds like eveyrone is doing well this weekend. I had a good day yesterday. I ate well and I got in a good excersise. Plus I only did a half day at work. I am kind of PMS-ey so I am trying to over power that but its hard to do. I tried using the old universal machine at the Y today (not natulus type stuff, just the old free weights and this one machine that looks like it was made before I was born) anyway, I did 3 different arm excersises at the minimum weight which was like 37 pounds or something crazy but I guess its not intended for lightweights like me. I could only manage reps of 6 put boy are my arms sore today. I love that sore muscle feeling makes me feel like I'm doing somthing right. I think I am going to try and work that into my gym visits at least 2 times a week. Ok, gotta get ready for working. Keep up the good work Jennie |
Hey just a qucik thought since we have so many post do you think we should start a new thread, liek PIC #2 or somthing? I don't know if it matters how long you threads get or not.

Howdy All,
Woke up at 4am and listened to the birdy concert outside on my porch. Watched the sun come up..it was a beautiful morning!! Dave and I went to bed early so we woke up early! Mallissa had a wonderful time at her sleep over and must of practiced back handsprings most of the night. The instructors looked more tired this morning than the kids. LOL She probably will go to bed early tonight. Dave and I went to my weigh in and then to Walmart this morning. I was bad and didn't stay for the meeting... WE also went grocery shopping AGAIN! Tomorrow we are having a Father's Day BBQ and bought some steaks. Today is my house cleaning day. (actually not that messy) and I am going to wash and clean out both vans! WAHHOOOOOO I also got a new tire for my bike...I am probably going to work on that first.! Hope everyone has a great day. Oh by the way...I am down another 1.3lbs.(for a total of 19) My lowest week since I started but it has been a strange week for me. I didn't get in as many veggies as I would of liked but did ok with fruits. I did drink my water...so I guess if the scale is going to move down... I should be happy! Everyone have a great weekend! Check out my fabulous new avatar curlylocks made for me! I don't know what my problem is, I guess it has something to do with working 12 days straight but I can't seem to get my butt in gear. I have to drag myself to do everything. I've only gotten one load of laundry done. I finally got some groceries in last night and did some yard work today but everything seems like such a chore. My sister called me today and invited me to dinner tomorrow for father's day. I'll go but even that seems like a drag and it shouldn't. Whine, whine, whine........

Hey PICS ~ saw this on another thread and I thought we could have some fun with it and learn a few interesting things about one another :D
What are 10 random facts about yourself ? The facts don't have to be too personal, anything you'd be willing to share... I'll go first :) 1. growing up I had the biggest crush on Shaun Cassidy  2. I have a male order groom.. okay not really. We met online in 1999 and we married in 2001. He is from New Zealand and moved all the way to Canada to be with me :o 3. I am a neat freak when it comes to my writing. I am the one at work that always has to write on cards or make signs.. even my teachers comment on how nice my printing is.. my brother use to say.. "you may be dumb, but at least your notebooks are tidy".. now I just laugh at him cause he works in grocery shipping.. and I am in management and studying to be an accountant  4. I hate camping !! When I was a kid I fell on some logs while camping.. got a wood tick in my head and ended up in the hospital getting it cut out  5. I am a reality TV junkie :sssh: 6. A couple of years ago I got my nose pierced, but have since taken it out.. the darn thing wouldn't heal ! 7. I have never had a drunken moment in my life. In fact I don't know if I have ever had more than a sip... I can't stand the taste of alcohol :barf: 8. My grandparents owned a bakery when I was young and we lived right next door... hmm.. bakery = weight problem ?!?! :cookie: 9. I have the ability to remember song lyrics really well and you will always find me singing along to any song on the radio.. 10. I love to paint my toe nails. In the summer I always wear sandals and have brightly colored toes. |
I saw this on the other thread too clip clop. Some of this stuff you guys already know about me. I had a hard time coming up with 10 random facts.
1. I was raised in foster care. Lived with one family most of my childhood though. I still call them mom and dad. Will be seeing them tomorrow for father's day. 2. I play the flute. I have played since I was 7 and was a music major at a music school my first two years of college so I guess you could say I'm pretty accomplished. 3. I listen exclusively to contemporary christian music. I have no idea what they play on popular radio stations unless they happen to be playing christian music (which actually happens sometimes) 4. I am one of those people who always tries to do the right thing even if it isn't the easy thing. This sometimes gets me into uncomfortable situations but I never have trouble looking at myself in the mirror. 5. I don't know how to mow grass. I don't even own a lawn mower. 6. I am one of the most self disciplined people you will ever meet. It is without a doubt the reason I have been so successful in my life. I can't tell you where I got it from either, seems to have always been with me. When I decide I am going to do something, look out! 7. I was planning to adopt a child and went as far as completing a home study. Then I had my teenage niece live with me for 6 months and nearly went out of my mind, LOL. Now, I'm not so sure I want a kid. 8. I have a terrible sense of direction. I can almost get lost going around the block. This is a joke in our family. I have the most education, yet can get lost going anywhere. 9. I'm a pretty good cook 10. I am board certified in 2 medical specialities which is actually pretty unusual. |
1. I was raised in a big family(5th of 7), 3 brothers, 3 sisters. One of my sisters is actually my niece my parents raised. My parents were married 45 years when my dad passed away. I am not close to my older bros & sis's because they are so much older than me.
2. Mallissa is biologically Dave's grandchild, we have raised her since birth. 3. I have 2 stepchildren, my stepdaughter isn't speaking to me, but will sometimes talk to her dad if he calls her. I never could have biological children. Adopting Mallissa was my miracle to become a mom. (that is why I enjoy ever minute of it.) 4. I was a grandma before I was a mom. Dave and I have 6 grandchildren. 5. I also met Dave online in 1995 we did the long distance thing for 2 years(travel and phone calls! Oh MY, don't know how we did it!)....and I finally moved to Wyoming in 1997. I was divorced from my first husband but we were living together when I met Dave. (oppss.... that is a bad fact. LOL) 6. I have worked part time as a radio DJ and a webmaster for 4 radio stations and have designed 2 non-profit sites as well as Mallissa's webpage. I like all kinds of music but my radio station in my car is set to a Christian music station. (don't tell Dave, I rarely listen to his talk radio show in the morning. He works for a group of radio stations that has a rock, country, talk and lite rock station and the Christian station is not one of his. 7. I am an avid true crime reader. I love Ann Rule's books and one of my biggest thrills was getting to talk to her on the phone when Dave interviewed her. 8. I love to sew. I have made Mallissa some beautiful clothes. I started when she was about a year old. 9. I've had the same pillow for the last 20 years.. it used to be a king size pillow but now it is the size of a travel pillow. I do wash it about every 3 months..but I have to sleep with it at night! I can't sleep without it! 10. Dave and I are certified foster parents but never had a child placed in our home. |
Good Morning Partners ! It is just going on 7:00 am on Sunday and I am already up and having my :coffee:.. hmmm wonder what it is like to sleep in once in a while :?:
Heading out for breaky for Father's Day, but other than that it will be a quiet day with the school books. I am really struggling with the last 2 chapters, so will have to put in some extra time today to figure them out. Petra ~ love ..love.. love the new avatar !! Great list of facts... I played the flute in elementary school.. okay maybe "played" isn't the right word. I couldn't read music to save my life, so just played along quietly, probably never getting a chord right ! I can also so relate to #9 - I am terrible with directions, street names, and not sure which way is North vs South, East vs West. Lisa ~ Yahoo.. congrats on another awesome WI :cp: My hubby is also from a family of 7 kids, he is the youngest of 5 boys and 2 girls. I know what you mean about the long distance relationship thing. I was so glad when hubby moved here.. the phone company probably wasn't though  Hope all you other partners are having a great weekend. Take care and talk to you all soon !! |
Good morning ladies. Not much going on here this weekend. Seems to be just a few of us talking to each other. Went to church at 8:00. I was reading the prayers today. Interesting old testament lesson for father's day though--it was the story of Abraham sending Hagar and Ishmael out into the wilderness. Basically a story about a father abandoning his child and according to the story, with God's blessing. Of course, the priest chose not to focus on that aspect of the story but I found it a strange selection for father's day. I commented to him about it after the service. Our main priest is also a physicist and we think a lot alike, so we had an interesting conversation about theology, religion, culture, and Bible history. One of those random facts I didn't include last night is that the only other thing I seriously considered doing with my life was going to seminary and becoming a priest. I'm an Episcopalian so we have female priests. However, I was raised by Baptists and my foster brother is a Baptist minister. I still think I may do it someday.
I am making up for my laziness yesterday. I have been on fire this morning. I have hard boiled eggs, made some of my nut snacks for the week, made chicken salad for lunch for this week, made myself a smoothie, done laundry, and cleaned up. Clipclop-you should have moved to New Zealand. I hear it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Lisa-the festival I am going to in about 10 days has a lot of great bands. As you can guess by my alias, I am a Petra fan, but I also like a lot of other groups. Some of the bigger names at this festival are Switchfoot, Audio Adrenaline, Jeremy Camp, Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, Pillar, Phil Keaggy, Superchick, Tait, Toby Mac, Joy Williams. There is a bunch of others. I'm really excited. I think they have a similar one on the West coast in Washington State. |
Lisa- check out this website: http://creationfest.gospelcom.net It appears that the west coast festival is at the end of July.

This sounds fun but you can't laugh.....
1. I sucked my thumb until I was 18 . My parents could'nt break me of the habit. It was my comfort. Guesss I should have stuck to that instead of food. 2. My father was in the air force so I moved every three years the first being when I was 2 weeks old to Okinawa Japan. I graduated from an American High School in England. Almost stayed there and got married. 3. Was with my dh for 11 years and had 2 kids, a house, cars, dogs and never got married. Guess I wanted to make sure he was the one . Finally married when his mom got sick with cancer for the second time and have now been married for 6 years. 4. My wonderful parents are still married. They got married a week after my mom turned 17 and are still Very much in love. 5. When dh and I decided to have another baby it was August 2000. I never had any problem getting pregnant with the first 2 so we started trying. Well it took 1 full year to get pregnant again and that ended in a miscarriage . That was one of the worst things to happen to me. 6. I work for a company that produces home and garden shows. I sell the show that we do in Ventura California. 7. We moved a year and half ago. We moved from a house that was 1150 square feet to one that is 2742. That was a pretty big adjustment. I am ready to move again to a house with a bigger lot. 8. I have 3 sisters. Poor Dad. 5 women pms-ing every month. I am the second. My parents will have 12 grandkids when my sister has her next one in a month 8 boys 4 girls. 9. I had to be put on prozac because of the stress of conceiving. I had horrible panic attacks. Since I started exercising I am no longer taking it. 10. I tend to get obsessed with things. If I want something I want it now. Clip - Shaun Cassidy . One year for Christmas I got a satin jacket with his picture on the back and jeans with his picture on the bottom of one pant leg. I am also a reality tv junkie and can't wait for Big Brother this summer. Petra - I also have a terrible since of direction although it seems to be improving and yeah teen agers can make you want to pull your hair out. My son has ADD and my daughter is the A B student. Boy they can get into some good fights. I need a black and white striped shirt to referee. Lisa - So glad you have Mallissa and enjoy being her mother. What you and Dave are doing is so Awesome. There need to be more people like you out there :D. |
?
This is going to sound like a desperate cry for help (or attention) but I'm in such a bad place emotionally and "motivationally" that I'm probably not going to post for a while. I don't know how I let myself get like this, or why I do this to myself, (I was doing so well and moving down) but I've lost my grip on my program and I'm drifting, idle and miserable. Hopefully I'll refocus soon and rejoin the ranks of the "positive" people. Sorry for the whining and self pity drivel.
