Sarah~it sounds like you are doing great! Keep up with the hard work!! Where do you find all those whole grain breads??? I wish I could find more without having to go to one of those speciallty stores. (family of 5 needs to meet their budget)

Welcome Kenyetta!!! These ladies are very supportive!!!

Holly~your weekend sounded very relaxing! Good for you taking some time to gather your thoughts. We all need a break every once in a while.

Girlie~Those are some great tips!! I will try them out, if only to cut down prep time for dinner. Trying to fit dinner making in after the gym has been difficult, esp since Dh needs to be in bed by 5:30-6pm. Great job!!!

Debbie~I can't wait to clean out my closet, I even have a box of clothes that don't fit up in the attic that I would love to get rid of.. Excellent!

Susie~I hate when that happens!!!! great job with the exercise!!!

I had a good weekend, with few missteps with the food, but it all worked out. No gym for me thiss weekend, had to be at work early on Sat, adn Sunday's are just impossible (got up at 4:30am as it was) But wwent to the park with the kiddies while Dh had Baseball practice. and got a little walk in with the little girls. About a mile to a mile and a half, not very fast, but the littles ones kept up very well. Have to get my house work started for the day. Will check in later.

((hugs)) to anyone I may have missed!

Ellen, All of the wholegrain stuff I found in ShopRite, don't know if you have them near you, they are sometimes called Starns. The garlic bread is Pepperidge Farm and it's frozen, very yummy too but you need to crisp it a bit under the broiler when it comes out of the oven as it was a bit soft the first time we tried it.

I actually worked up a sweat yesterday! I decided that my winterised living room needed a good ole clean and being made spring like! I put on the greatest party in the world cd and I didn't stop for about an hour or more! One of our drivers walked in (we have a cab company) and just stood there staring at me as I was waving my arms and gyrating my hips....lol, I don't think he'd ever seen the boss move so much! I moved furniture, I vacuumed and dusted and polished, I even cleaned out the fireplace! But boy did I feel good to have sweat on me and muscles starting to ache!

I tried a few carb lite jelly beans and they were really yummy...or so I thought...

DH and I decided we would treat ourselves last night to some chinese, we had both got up late and only eaten cereal and fruit around lunchtime and had been mega good all week. Just before it arrived I started to get weird stomach pains, I just thought I was hungry. We were really good and had only ordered meat and vegetable dishes, I don't like the steamed white rice they send with it anyway, I only had a couple of tablespoons of food...then I felt like I had really bad gas (scuse the TMI), so being the unladylike person that I am, I let rip! I let rip again and OMG, I felt wetness! I went running to the bathroom and OMG again, I was s****ing thru the eye of a needle! and the pains in my stomach were excrutiating. I finally emerged and dh was like I'm sorry I talked you into chinese I know you have a sensitive stomach (chinese food with msg makes me puke normally but we use a place that says it doesn't use it). I told him I had had the pains before we ate so he looked at the jelly beans...may cause a laxative effect!!!!!!! I only ate about 8-10 of them!!!! Thank goodness I didn't eat the whole bag cos of the low carb content! I was in and out of the bathroom until 1am (and I squitted in my pants a second time at one point!!!) I've never heard such weird noises coming from me! talk about gurgles and grunts! Won't be eating carb lite sweeties again!

The trots have stopped this morning but ouchies...last night was supposed to be my treat night, I didn't get to have my 3 Quality Street chocs...I was scared to eat chocolate during all that palaver! Of course I couldn't resist the scale this morning, after all I had flushed most of my insides away! lol and I had lost 1/2 a pound! lmao!

Now I've completely grossed you all out and put you off your lunches...

Thanks for the comments on the food intake, I've been reading other people's food diaries online and I am pretty close in amount to them so I guess I am eating enough, I have been worried about ketosis (even tho I eat good carbs and not all protein) or putting my ole bod into starvation mode...

I'm feeling so motivated, so energetic, I really enjoyed my dance houseworkout yesterday! The other good thing about eating all these greens and healthy stuff is that I am a ton of zits! The cleansing process has begun! I wouldn't normally be too thrilled with zits as I only get the odd one around TOM but this is proof I am shoving the crap out of me!

Here's to a healthy, happy week for all of us. Keep up the great work girls and thank you for all your support!

Sarah

I had an EVENTFUL night. DD came in and puked all over me and my bed at 11pm and down the hall and up the bathroom walls. Poor kid. She was sick until 2 am every few minutes.
Needless to say the bed has been stripped ,carpet and floors scrubbed etc. All in the middle of the night. Then our sump pump alarm went off at 6 am. The power was out so hubby ran out the door in his undies and my parka (giggle) to turn on the generator. I slept in fits and starts.

Lot of of lightening and thunder.

It is March break!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby is home because of the rain and DD slept late and DS is quite happy.
The house is very messy from all the in and out with the hockey tourny yesterday.

Been to the egg lady, post office, did some Avon stuff, and hardware store.
Does anyone else get totally excited by the hardware store and their flyers????? It is my fav store.

DS has been scraping my steamer trunk. It is in pretty bad shape. 105 years old and sat in a basement for the last 40-50. I will restore it as best as possible. It was my Great Grandmothers.

Ds off to his friends for supper. DD colouring. Hubby being “lazy”. Temps are supposed to drop to freezing tonight and a snow storm tomorrow. It is currently 14C/58F.

Closet cleaned out.Soap watched.
Time to have a tea and clean the stinkin kitchen.

HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[D: Salad with No carb dressing. Small slice of wholewheat garlic bread. 1/4lb of wholewheat pasta made into carbonara (made with carb options alfredo sauce, turkey bacon, chopped onions and thin sliced deli ham). Activia yoghurt. Pear. Water. Cup of tea.

Watch that yogurt, I looked at it and I think it has like 34g of sugar per cup? My diet plan says have a cup of whole fat plain yogurt with some fruit in it. Not bad and the baby likes it too

Hi there Sarah,
I estimated some points for you based on Weight Watchers. Of course, this isn't definite - I am just assuming that you are having regular portions of everything, and I also estimated a little high for some things - like counted the milk in your tea as 1 full point even though it's probably only a few tablespoons as I put in my tea. And I prob underestimated the carbonara...but anyway, just and idea. You are probably doing pretty well. I think your pts would be 28 per day, and there is a 35 pt bank that you get to use all week, so based on that, you are doing okay. I hope this is helpful for you.
-------

Water, cup of tea made with 1% milk & sweet & low - 1/1
B: Small bowl of whole grain cheerios with 1% milk - 4/5
S: Cup of tea (as above) - 1/6
L: 1 small pitta bread filled with grated cheese and chopped onion. No sugar added kozyshack individual rice pudding. Grapes. Water. 8/14
S: Banana - 1/15
D: Salad with No carb dressing - 5/20
Small slice of wholewheat garlic bread. 3/23
1/4lb of wholewheat pasta made into carbonara 6/29
Activia yoghurt. 2/31
Pear. 1/32
Water. Cup of tea. 1/33

----
Here's an example of what I've eaten today and plan to have for dinner:

I need to use 28 pts

1/2 container of egg beaters 1/1
with mushrooms, spinach and ham 1/2
Whole wheat bun 2/4

granola bar 3/7

Bowl of veggies w/lowfat cheese sauce - 3/10
Kashi TLC Crackers - 2/12
Single serve bag 98% FF popcorn - 3/15
applesauce 1/16

steamed spinach - 0/16
shrimp sauteed with cooking spray - 2/18
1 cup of brown rice - 4/22
strawberries and pineapple with FF whipped cream - 2/24
Healthy choice Ice cream bar OR a chocolate raspberry cookie- 3/27

It's not very balanced, but it seems to be working for me. I ALWAYS have dessert! I'm one point off today, but I usually go to 30 or 31 - we have a 35pt "bank" as a part of the WW plan.

Girlie, thank you so much for that! It gives me a good idea that I am on the right track!

I'm not a great dessert eater, even if we eat out I rarely eat dessert. I bought the sugar free puddings and ice cream to make myself eat them! lol I thought they would make my meals more interesting!

LChin - thank you for that also - the only reason I am eating those yoghurts is DH wants to try the 14 day thing with the bacteria so I said I would eat them too! Not that I have eaten one every day so I'm kinda not sure if I will feel any benefit! I really am the queen of puke cos of my ulcer and delicate stomach. I normally eat sugar free yoghurts.

I am eating very light today after last nights 'episode' just cereal and a banana for breakfast and 2 medium soft boiled eggs and wheat toast for lunch. So far so good with the tummy today thank goodness!

Thank you for all your input, it's hard when you're not actually counting anything but changing the content cos it makes you feel so much better. I have the WW points book here that I borrowed from a friend (it was her who inspired me to get back on the complex carbs after we spent 5 days visiting them and all the food she cooked was so tasty and dh had done WW before).

Having our own business sometimes makes it hard to get a routine with eating and you grab things to keep you going or eat really late etc, so wanting to eat properly actually got me to look at my routine and say 'bugger the job it doesn't need me 24/7' That in itself has made me less stressed, eat right at the right time of day and no puking from ulcer being aggravated by stress! I'm a winner in all corners really! Sleeping better, eating better and better support by having all you lovely ladies to spur me on!

THANK YOU ALL!

Sarah

Ok, I'm having trouble this morning. I really want to go and get something to eat out of the vending machine. I'm tired (I know I want to eat when I'm tired), and I think I'm feeling pressure from thinking about the Marketing Assistant's position. I have an interview for it on Friday and I'm not sure that I want it. I'm sort of enjoying my job right now. But yet, I don't want an opportunity to pass me by. Why can't I just be content like normal people?

I did tell Recbecca (who works with me and is a fellow TOPS member) that I was wanting to eat something. I thought if I said it out loud that I would at least not be able to hide it--I'm a secret eater.

I've been having great workouts and I really want to show a loss this week, so I'm not going to give in to the temptation of the vending machine, but I can tell you that I feel like I'm taking it minute by minute right now.

I better get busy and get to work. I am hanging on for lunch!

Debbie: I'm so proud and happy for you!

Susie, minute by minute is better than giving in to temptation babe! Well done for saying it out loud! Did you eat enough breakfast this morning?

You are right about not letting an opportunity pass you by - even if you love your current job and you happen to get the Marketing Assistant's position - you don't have to take it! Would it be a promotion or pay raise? Would it mean longer hours or different hours that won't fit in with your current schedule? Weigh all the options!

Hope your lunch made your temptations pass love!

Sarah

I feel sick, I'm really sick of those know-it-alls. At work during lunch break, they sit around scarfing down their fried chicken, pizzas and 12-inch subway sandwitches oozing of mayo and cheese sauces. They snack all day on cookies, pastries, chips and chocolates. And then they come tell ME how I should be eating...GRRR!!!
Thing is most of them are overweight, I'm not the only one!
I stick to my diet, my lunches are usually salads, a cup of soup or a lean turkey bacon on mixed grain bread without mayo. I usually snack on fruits and veggies, or low fat cereal bars and cookies. I drink my water and refuse to have any of the stuff they're having!!

phew.. I just had to let that out.
I'm doing okay, I'm almost there with my exercise goal, 106 mins left . I'm staying OP and trying to get to my mini goal for this month. Hopefully I'll get there by end of march!. i'm not expecting much this week because its almost my TOM. I'm trying to avoid all the binge eating that comes with it by staying busy with my job, and workouts at home. I've ordered several new videos and I'm trying them out so thats keeping me busy and interested.
Good luck Ladies!

Debbie: congrats on the 10%, you're my inspiration
