Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the newbies. It's great to have you with us.
I have been swammped this week but this board hasn't been out of my thoughts. I don't always get to post every day like I would like to so I'm shooting for 2-4 days a week.

I'm happy to report a 1 lb loss for the week. I have been having to do a lot of self-talking myself out of things but that's ok because I have listened to myself for years talking myself into eating more than I know I should. I'm listening to the postive me instead of the me that tells me I have failed before.

I must get back to work ladies. I just wanted to stop in, read the posts and let you know I 'm around.

Work on that 1 lb. Remember...just one lb at a time....we can do this!

I hit a rough patch yesterday. I was having a "hungry" "tiered" "stressed" day. I did okay throughout the day, but on the way home from work I heard a radio commercial for McDonalds Chicken nuggets, and I lost control. I got 12 nuggets, and ate them all in the car within a few miles. I then was stressed and next thing I knew I had a bag of chocoalte pretzels opened. I ate 3 before i even realized what I was doing. So I pulled over my car, through out the pretzels and the fries I had ordered but hadn't eaten yet. I went home and did a 60 minute workout instead of my usual 30 and I ate only an apple for dinner. Hopefully that made up for my slip!

New rule for me....NO absoulutely NO food in my car!!

Hello Ladies...........

Not much going on here. Still struggling, wasn't feeling well yesterday, but worked anyway. What a long stressful day that was.

Going to see Little Big Town this Saturday. I have seen them before, and really like them. My son and his buddy is going along also.

Stay focused everyone.

Talking Hiya everyone :)

Just saying hello. I'd like to join you all in the quest for Onederland. I made it there in 2005 for about 3 days, then never saw it again. I have, however, managed to keep off almost half of my previous loss. Was 277, and am now at around 240. (Had gotten down to 198.) I'm determined to stay on track this year, let nothing stop me and get there again. So glad to be here with you all. I love the support here. Thanks!

Hi Ladies,
I hope you don't mind an unrelated weight loss question.

Friday I went to work, worked all day and at 4:55 p.m. I was called into the VP of Sales office and told that I was being terminated. It was eluded to that I had acted in past behavior (early in my career) that had come to their attention again and that it was putting the company at risk and therefore they had to terminate me.

They would not give me specifics, they only kept saying that because it had happened in the past (which I will say that something did happen and we agreed it was an isolated incident and to move on) and someone mentioned something similar happening again. There is NOTHING that I can acount for that happened again.

They said that they would state to Unemployment that I had violated company policy and that when a reference called they would only be given my dates of employment and salary.

I don't know how I should handle filling out applications when asked why I am no longer employeed there or what I should say in an interview.

Can anyone help me?

Technially, the only kind of reference they can give would be salary and employment dates. That shouldn't be a problem.

As for what to tell an interviewer:

1. I wanted to gain more valuable experience
2. This is the career path I am chosing
3. The schedule no longer fit my hours. (etc)

It really depends on the situation. As long as you are not too negative about your past employer, you should be fine.

BTW, what industry do you work in? Do you work in an "at will" employer state? You may be able to claim wrongful termination, if they didn't document your behavior properly.

Hi,
I'm trying to keep poitive about my non-job situation. I did have a 15 minute binge this morning but I got it stopped.

I am happy to report that I had a 2.25 lb loss at the scales.

I've not been to the gym this week and I must get there tomorrow.

To answer decuplet: I live in Ohio an I think it is an at will state.

Debbie: I know you can get back on track...come on girl, where's that will dust powder? Like you say, a slip-up isn't a reason to give up.

Susie- i cant help with the work thing. I have been self employed for over 15 years. I just sell myself and dont use references etc. And I dont look for work in a traditonal sense. I network. Recently, I sent emails out to people I admire asking if they knew of job opportunites. I had several offers to choose from. I dont even have a resume. All word of mouth. The hairdressing job I am starting is working "for" someone but i am quite independant. Obviously she has the final word but I set my own hours, will promote myself.......

Good Morning all!!!
Today is my last day of relative freedom. I start regular hours for payroll tomorrow. The one thing that will be hard is that when I get tired in the evening I leave stuff for the morning because i know I will be here to finish. Not so now. I had trouble last night imagining pushing myself to finsh the dishes or laundry. I suppose a new routine will fall into place.I will need to prep meals the night before too.Our morning routines will be the same.

Volunteering at the school til 10:30 today and every Tues now, instead of Wednesdays. Will work at Avon in the aft.
I really need to do some clothes shopping. My daily wear of PJ bottoms and t shirts doesn't cut it in the work force. I can wear jeans. Need some funky tops.Bought some bras recently so the girls are saluting the sun.I need to upgrade some of my equipment too but i will do that gradually. Pro hair stuff is ridiculously expensive.

Weight is the same! Still down 12. Hoping to lose 1 lb a week. Steady.Being in my feet all day will help. I can also walk for my breaks now that I will be in a town and not on a hwy.

Need another java. HUGS!!!!!

G'Morning!!! I did pretty well yesterday and for the first time in maybe a year??? I hit 10,140 steps!! I felt good on the tmill last nite, didn't wanna get off really. Must have walked an hour on there yesterday, which adds 6000 steps, so in the whole day, I hit my goal of 10k. Yeah!

Also, on Sunday I weighed. And ... I'm down 5 lbs. So happy for that. At 235 now. I can't wait to be in Onederland. I think my final forever goal is 177. Then I'm going to work to maintain that for one year at least. Then decide if I want to go any lower. (For one thing, if you weigh too little, you really can't eat very much. So I'm thinking, stay a little bigger and eat a little more. But maybe by the time I get there, food will mean even less to me. It already does since I lost the other 40 2 yrs ago. So we'll see.) What do you all think about that?

I still managed to work out most days. I lost about 2 lbs and am starting to hit a stride with the work load.....I hope.

Still trucking!
