Mornin' chicks~~ It is about 31 degrees here and some snow is trying to come down! This year winter is sure trying to get here quickly. Yesterday turned out nicer than they predicted. It was around 50 degrees ...and can you believe it ChaCha~~that was even warm enough for those damn beetles to start flying around the house again! They are desperate to winter inside someones house and this old farmhouse has plenty of places to go to hibernate!
From what i found on the web they say just to caulk and make sure there are no gaps for them...well that is not going to happen on this old house. We do need to reside it and perhaps then it will be better. I got kind of sick vacuuming them up yesterday --kind of breathed them in too much i guess(they do stink!) And felt like i was having an asthma attack. They say some people can have a reaction and leave it to me to have it! I had this happen previous, but this one was bad. I even was having trouble sleeping last nite w/the feeling in my lungs. I hope i can cough it all out today. Got more sleep w/the time change at least. Tho i hate to "fall back" we are in the majority who does. Now it will be dark by 6 or 6:30 each night. Last night i was outside till very late. DH was helping his brother on some last minute winterizing on his remodeling of his house so we ate VERY LATE. I was grilling fish at 7! But we had pretty healthy food, baked spuds and broccoli and the mahi-mahi. These are the last of the package that i brought home from AZ. The Costco store sells them w/about 8 pieces in a bag and each fish is packed in a vacuum sealed pouch, so they keep great in the freezer! I can't wait to get back to shopping at Costco and Trader Joes down in the Mesa area! Not to mention being in warmth all winter long

I think we have to go out to this property today and haul some tools and such home from an old building that is there. (a homesteader built a log building on property that they just 'took'...that is how it was done in the early 1900's. You didn't worry about who owned it! --too bad it's beyond repair--it had been pretty neat in it's day)

~~MOOZ~~Good for you on just focusing to keep the good attitude. That does seem to work. Thanks for the updates on Paul. That is soooo neat that he got to see some of the spots that they filmed in the Trilogy movies. I loved the two so far. They say for the final one to bring tissues as you will cry alot! I didn't read all the books, so i don't really know how they will end this. I think i really only read the Hobbit which is before the Trilogy.

~~NITA~~ Do send us some pics when you can of the little one. I hope it is safer where the grandson in the Marines has to go! DH's nephew is still in Iraq! but they are giving a 10 day leave to them. I think in 3 or 4 wks he will get home,but then has to go right back! that will be very hard! He is just a reservist. I think Bush should get us out of there soon! It is a mess. I see all the protesting is building again. Impeach Bush signs and such.
Cat was right we should NOT have gone at all. I was against it also, but it seems only those in the highest power spots decide for us!

Well, i will get off my soapbox now and go and do some cleaning. Have a wonderful strong day all you great chicks~~

To all my dear chicks,

I'm sorry for not posting before now and for being so far behind on what's going on in all of your lives... but I haven't been on the computer very much.

I want to say thank you all so very, very much for your kind words and expressions of sympathy and comfort. Your friendship and support has really helped.

I just got a call from my sister in Southern California last night. My DM and DGM had to be evacuated last night because of the huge fires down in Southern California. So my DM and DGM are staying with my sister and her family, and now my sister just hopes that she doesn't get evacuated because they are very close to where the fires are as well.

All this combined with my father having just passed away, and my DM will likely pass within the next month or so....you chicks have been so wonderful about sending angels to me, could you please send a few to my sister and her family as well? Thank you so much.

You chicks are such wonderful friends! Love and hugs to all of you.

Michelle - I was thinkig about you going to California when I saw on the news about the fires. It must be so very stressful for your DM and DGM having to be moved out of their home and now also for your sister. I hope they don't have to move out from there. Sending to them. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

So sorry I am not very good in posting pictures, but I promise to improve.

Michelle -- I am so sorry for all the things going on in your life right now--I am sure better things are to come in the future. I am sending angels as well to you and your sister to keep you and your family safe I know this is not a good time but if you get a chance listen on your radio for Clay Aiken's new CD. It is really awesome and it is refreshing to have someone in the entertainment world who has genuine values and someone our young people can look up to as a role model.

As far as my program is--it is not. I am going to my PC doctor tormorrow and perhaps she can get me motivated again. I do plan on getting on the treadmill this evening while watching American Dream, and of course my Tuesday night program is coming back on this week "24". When I watch Kiefer Sutherland the time just flies by!

Well ladies I have to go and make some baby blankets.

Take care,
Anita

p.s. -- I value all of you---you are the very best friends a woman could have! Thanks for being there for all of us!

Nita -- funny you should mention Clay's new CD. I actually picked it up last Monday or Tuesday and have been listening to it in my car to and from work ever since. I'm really enjoying it.

Hi my darling chickies. I have been super busy lately and I have missed so much. My DD had another dance competition this week-end and she won a 1st place in her jazz duo and her troupe won a first and sencond place. And they were invited to participate in a video for all the top dancers of the competition. So I have been way off program but I am going to get back on track tomorrow. I feel terrible because of it.

Michelle I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. My prayers are with you. Please take care of yourself. I am sending prayers for you mother and sister as well. These fires are terrible. I hope that they will be safe. Take care.

To the rest of you wonderful chickies take care and I will try to post more tomorrow. I am off to bed as it has been a long dancing week-end.

Just a quick check-in and angels to Michelle and family.

Saw DMiL today, and she is quite chipper. Happens today is Mil's day, and I told her no one could have a better one.

David's dog barfed repeatedly on the rug, so I took her to the vets and did a lot of cleaning. Ugh!

Want to start the week by getting to bed on time.

Best to all--

Hello Ladies,

Mitchellez - Sending lots of to you & your family. I have been praying that the winds stop in CA. Looking at the picture on TV, it just devastating. I pray that your sister, DM & DGM are ok.

Thin - I'm not having to mess with beetles, but this year the gackeo have been really bad. I have only found 2 in the house, but I have seeing quite a bite of them. I can't believe you have already gotten snow. Our cold front came in on sat & brought the temp from 70 to about 55to 60. But it will be in the 80's by the end of this week.

Mooz - sounds like Paul is having a wonderful time.

LittleChic- Congrats on your daughter taking 1st place. I'm sure her dancing keeps you pretty busy.

Nita - that is great that your insurance will pay for the gym. I need to get my treadmill back out too.

Cat - good news about your MIL. Hope the dogs is feeling better.

Hal, Chacha - Hope you all are having a great day.

As for me, we'll my eating has not been that good, but I have not gained nor lost. I know I need to get back on track with the exercise. With the time changed it's going to be really dark by the time I get home but I have got to make myself get out and walk the dog & then come back in and get on that treadmill. You know it's much easier said than done.. but I know I can do it...Just have to make my mind up.

I think it's time for a

Good Morning~~
After reading CATLOVERS~~post i figured i'd better get on and do a post too. Can you believe it's snowed again? About 3 inches of the wet sticky stuff. It should turn back to rain later on they say. But in the meantime i am grateful for the fact that i don't HAVE to get out and drive in it. On the news there was another accident due to the slippery roads. Each year people must re-learn how to drive in it( AKA slow down!) In the meantime the EMTs are kept busy.

~~1DAY~~what do the gekcos do? How big do they get? I liked the little salamander (chameleon?) things in florida--but anything bigger is a little creepy!
I know, this time change just messes us all up. Maybe knowing the dog still has to take a walk will get you back up to speed.
When i had my dog, that kept some weight off of me.

~~~LITTLECHICK~~that is so cool that your DD got 1st place in her dance. That must make you so proud. Congrats!
~~NITA~~Speaking of some good new singers--the bunch they have on the today show are pretty amazing. I cannot even pick one. They all do the song they are given so well...they must have known talent when they picked them. Clay A has been on alot of the shows in the morning singing. He does a wonderful job too. Glad you and Michellez are enjoying his new CD.
Sending more good thoughts and prayers to MICHELLEZ~~the firefighters sound like they are doing the best they can with it. I just pray that your family's home will be spared. Have they had to evacuate from your sisters also??
Where is our ~~MOOZ~~this morning? I hope you have nice weather there and are out walking. I think i will bundle up and go see how i like that white stuff that has come down. Got to fill the bird feeders anyhow.
To all the rest of our busy chicks~have a wonderful OP day and stay in touch.
Good morning chickies. All is well in New Brunswick. Lots of rain and wind but atleast it is not snow. I have been very busy with all my comitees we are getting ready for the kids halloween party on thursday night and I have a volunteer information session tomorrow night and I am baking 100 cupcakes tonight. Other than that I have not been true to my eating program or to exercise but I have been holding my own on the scales. I have been trying not to over eat but I have not been making the best choices. That and those darn little chocolate bars are my weakness. Well sending angels and prayers to all who need them. Chat with you all soon.
