Good Evening Everyone,

I guess we're not getting those e-mails we used to get to let us know when someone has posted. Even though I found you a couple days ago it took awhile before I found youu today.

With so many new diets to follow coming out each day--I decided to join the Slimfast Challenge. They had a sign-up at our local WalMart store on Saturday. They even took your "before" picture and weighed you. They then handed out some really good material and a couple of sample bars. You even have access to three dietitions. After I try some of their recipes I will share the good ones with you.

Our weather here is fantastic--high 70's today and, of course, the sun shines almost every day of the year. I am still doing the treadmill and I bought a new exercise outfit today from our Costco store because there was a $10 off coupon which brought the price to $24.95. There are two DVD's by Karen Voight; two 3 lb. balls; one of those very large balls and an exercise mat. I just decided I had to keep this exercising interesting and not do the same things each day. I have still been bowling at least 5 times a week but developed a wrist problem in the last 3 weeks so it hasn't been all that fun. However, my bowling partner suggested I use one of those medicine balls and exercise my hands. Believe it or not, one night doing this and today my wrist felt a whole lot better.

Getting back to Slimfast. They suggest substituting one or two meals with their shakes and/or meal bars and eating one normal meal. They also suggest having fruit or one of their snack bars in between. Since I really enjoy my breakfast--I decided to do just that--eat my normal breakfast which consists of high fiber cereal; 1/2 banana; soy milk, one piece of high fiber bread w/a small amount of peanut butter; coffee and 1/2 grapefruit. For lunch I had a small garden salad and a strawberry shake with one frozen banana which I mixed up in my blender. For dinner I had another small garden salad and one of their meal bars. I really don't feel deprived--so I thought I would give this program a one-week trial. In fact after I came home from bowling I still had a huge amount of energy and I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Well ladies, as you can see, I am all excited again. I really have decided all the programs out there are truly excellent and it is up to each one of us to find out which one works best for us!

Take care,
Anita

p.s. I, too, will be watching Dr. Phil's show this evening!

Hi chickies just a quick check in it has been a very stressful few days. We had some problems at our community center. Ran out of oil and then the pipes froze and then broke this morning. URG. But through it all I managed to stay OP. Amazing. Well sorry I can't post to each of you but have a great night.

Hello everyone
Hope everyone is good. Work has been very busy the last few days
Hard to keep up. But otherwise all is good
The weather is cooperating for the time being, yesterday was beautiful.
Sunny and the snow was melting, but not to fear we have more coming this week.
My eating has been good. The Dr Phil book "The Ultimate Weight Solution" is great. It really gets at why you eat and how to stop. I think it has done wonders.....I haven't weighed myself yet, but will soon.

Gotta run back to work...
Hope you have a terrific OP day!!

Good evening chickies ........... here I am again on the computer when I should be doing housework. Oh well maybe that is what keeps me from eating too much!!
I always think that maybe after I come home from work that I will have my lunch and go for a walk but I can never be bothered
I tried on a pair of jeans that I had bought before Christmas and they were a bit tight for me ......... now they fit I am happy about that. This weight is finally coming off slowly but surely.
I am going to have to buy myself a new digital camera as the one I have has given up!! It was one of the original cameras and is a bit outdated now anyway.
I also need to get back to painting as the classes will be starting up soon and I have done nothing since November!!
Enough rambling - housework calls but first a bit of Ralphie Boy!!

The power of passion

When your spirit is battered and your energy is depleted, and you feel like you can't go on, you can go on. In fact you can surpass all you've ever done before and reach a new level of accomplishment.
It is amazing what you can do when you know you must. It is incredible what you can accomplish when it means everything to you.

But how could you ever be that passionate, and so totally committed that you would endure any difficulty in order to reach ever higher? That's a good question, and one that would be very much worth your time, your thought, your effort to answer.

Somewhere in you is something you sincerely care about enough that you would transcend any obstacle in order to give it life. Somewhere in you is a burning passion ready to be ignited.

You'll find clues in the things that make you happy, sad, angry, frustrated, joyful, serene, in the things that make you feel most alive. Pay heed to those stirrings, and listen to what they have to say.

The power of passion is somewhere in your life. Let yourself know it and live it.

Hey Chickies~~ safely arrived in Arizona. It was a very rough trip. The motor home blew a tire on the interstate! That was scarey. But we found a place 4 miles down the road to help us change a tire. Then a bit later we were able to buy a spare, so that gave us more relief. Anyway i'm at my Mother-in-Laws right now, and by tomorrow we will be parked in our RV park i think. Nice to be in big rooms for awhile instead of the two of us in that motorhome. Course that will be the case again soon! But there are lots of things to do at the park, and i think i will be put to work there.

Can't reply to individuals right now, but i wanted to say HI and let you know we made it ...only thing now the sun is gone behind clouds! and i'm having to hear about it from the relatives who live here. They say we've brought it wiht!!! Unfair. I say it's like this purposely so we can adjust to 60 degrees and not get a sunburn immediately!

talk more soon!

Hi Everyone,

Thin -- I am so happy you arrived safely in Arizona. How many days did it take you? I would like to take a road trip back to Ohio sometime next year. My husband doesn't think it is duable but I think it is.

It's great to see so many ladies doing great on their programs. I am still exercising but am quite confused as to which program I should really adhere to. Oh well perhaps I will make up my mind before I start gaining weight again. I did much better at bowling today because my wrist felt a whole lot better. I need to go for my yearly physical on Friday and of course I am not looking forward to it. Each time I visit the doctor my blood pressure is always high but I always insist it is related to "white coat" syndrone. So far I have been unable to keep from using any prescription drug for my blood pressure.

Michelle -- I know you may reading these posts and I just wanted to let you know I think of you often. I am sure one day in the not-to-distant future you will get back to your program which worked so well last year. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! On another note, American Idol starts again next Monday--the first week it will be airing three days in a row!

Okay ladies I will talk to you all soon again!

Take care,
Anita

Good Morning Chickies, tomorrow, maybe I will start us off on a new thread. Thin - I know you would do it but you probably have plenty of other things to do just at this time. Glad to hear that you arrived safely. I hope you and Nita are able to meet up this time.
I decided , yesterday, to have a date with Billy Blanks! I have not been with him for years!! So I picked out the 8min workout video sleeve up and put the videotape,that was inside it, into the VCR and thought I was seeing things! Bob Ross was on the screen! For any of you who know Bob Ross and Billy Blanks you will know they are like opposites. Bob is so quiet, gentle, peaceful and dead, God rest his soul.......... and that hair is something else! Billy Blanks is none of those .......... he is some pup. Anyway I could not be bothered looking through all that pile of video tapes so I put on the Basic Taebo and it was a great workout.It lasted 30 mins which was just right ......... I was cold when I started but boy was I hot when it ended!
Gotta go get ready to take Orla to school.

Nourished by challenge
The value of an ambitious goal is not measured by what it will bring to you. The worth of a goal is measured by what it will make of you in the process of following and attaining it.
An outrageous and impractical goal can be just as valuable as a prudent and pragmatic one. What matters is not how realistic or practical your objective may be, but how much it compels you to push beyond your limitations.

There are stunningly brilliant possibilities for your life that you've never even imagined. Set yourself on a meaningful and ambitious course, and the best of those possibilities will begin snapping into focus.

It pays to dream big dreams. And it certainly pays to follow the biggest and most ambitious of them. For the biggest dreams will put you face to face with the biggest challenges. And those challenges, difficult as they may be, will nourish you in ways that nothing else can.

Hi chicks~~
We certainly are being blamed for bringing the cloudy skies and rain last night to Mesa(did you get some in Phoenix, NITA~~?) But they do so need rain I will take the ribbing. And today looks like sunshine! So i will have to put sunscreen on...don't want to be getting burned.

~~~MOOZ~~That would be great if you would move us to a new home. We are going to get set up in our RV park today. And with that place nearly full i don't know how often i will get on one of their 4 computers. I am pretty sure we will find a way to buy a laptop while we are down here. too funny on the date with Billy Blanks! He is quite the hunk.
~~NITA~~I hope your wrist is much better by now.
I get that doctor-itis thing too...you'd think by now we could overcome that ! But I do the same thing time after time. Wishing you good luck w/it all.
~~~LITTLE CHICK~~wow, those are some cold temps and wind chills. Be sure to dress in layers. And take care. Wish you all could come here for awhile ...but it is getting busier even in Mesa area. I don't know how many more people have moved here permanently, but the houses just keep getting built! Looks alot different from last year. Notice lots of new developments and stores.

Well a big HELLO to all the rest :hugs: to Michelle~~ we are all thinking of you. Do post soon so we may hear from you.
