Hello! Hope no one thought I blew away during the storm last Friday. What a letdown that was! We had a storm on Tuesday that was far worse than what was left of that hurricane by the time it came over Ontario. Tuesday's storm had strong winds that uprooted trees and brought us torrential rain, while all the hurricane gave us was day long gentle rain.
It was interesting to read your comments about Dr. Phil's weight loss programs. I watched the first day and most of yesterday's show. I think if he's really going to help people he ought to concentrate on the "help" part and not play this elimination game. They must have gone through a lot of people before they picked the 13 candidates as they all have completely different reasons that they've blamed for being overweight. Did you notice how he's labelling them "the victim" "the lazy ***" etc? Normally I like Dr. Phil's show because he has a way of cutting through the crap to get to the root of the problem...in fact, I'd love to get Phil and my husband in a room for an afternoon! However, I'm not sure how this more confrontational approach is going to turn out in the end. I would really like to watch all these people go through the process and see their successes or failures, what works for them and what doesn't, but what I don't want to see is annoying, *****y people way overdo it with the crying and carrying on (the red haired woman comes to mind here).
My own weight loss has slowed down, but instead of fluctuating around around 170 lbs. I am now hovering around 165. The good news: I am 165 during my period, which is usually my heaviest weight of the month. I tend to retain water and once it's gone I drop a couple of pounds. I am going to put the push on for the next couple of days exercise-wise and see what happens. My food habits hit a wall of cheesecake today. I have a friend at work who actually shoved a plate with a piece of cheesecake into my hands at lunch! Saboteur! Well...it was a small piece and I've been eating healthy, lots of fruit and veggies...so I ate it. Actually I didn't eat it all because I would have felt guilty. Tonight that means one hour on the trainer to burn off at least 200 calories. It's so hard working with people who think a good lunch is a couple of chocolate bars and a bottle of Pepsi. Really! She doesn't actually cook, and she brings in a bag of candy every day. There are a couple of people like her in my department. I have gotten really good at saying no to them.

DH knocks down old plaster board and i pick it up and put it in the dumpster for that stuff. But a little here and there will help his brother get to finishing the place. Well, i don't know if he will do much more than close off the upstairs for this year...but somehow that roof must get done, and that requires a work "crew"...which seems to only be on weekends if we are lucky. Most people are busy on their own last minute fall chores. Winter can set in hard and fast around here. Hope it doesn't this year!
We have faith that you will be able to weigh in free again next time. YGG~~~
Anyway, the way some acted when they saw the good-for-you-salmon placed in front of them was something. I could not believe some of them had never seen a piece of salmon--and didn't recognize it?? Wow, have they ever TRIED to lose wt before? Just unbelieveable!
till later all!! thinlizzie
Somethings are just to hard to pass up. I don't think I could have either and I am sure that I would have licked the plate clean.
And maybe i will. I have some tucked away and even a little piece does seem to help at these times. Did i ever tell you how my GF craves it each month during her period and she doesn't even like chocolate otherwise?? That just proves those cravings are a real thing.
......... but if I eat lightly for the rest of the day then I hope it will balance out
to you!!
