Hi Chicks~~
Hope you had a great day...it was so nice here and most of the bugs are gone. I still found mosquitos in the garden tho!! They like it under the greenhouse DH made for me. So nice & cozy and warm...all the time too! I am trying to get some of the tomatoes to finish ripening under there. Usually we start getting frost by now, but so far it has not been bad. In fact another nice near 80 degree day is predicted for tomorrow too, and we will try to get another motorcycle ride in.

~~~TAMBO~~~so good to hear from you. on the wt.loss and the fact that your good eating habits have become so second nature now... Sending you some 's for the upcoming weather. I don't live where these things occure, but i certainly would plan for it if i did. Hope you get lots of info from someone on what to do. I don't even do well w/lightning storms it seems! Take care{{hugs}}
~~CAT~~Sending prayers and angels for you and for your DH and his surgery.
~~~1DAY~~~good to hear you are still feeling good on your plan. And not getting those cravings and thinking how hungry we feel is just awesome! YGG~~ Hope your puter is up and running fine now. Glad it was under warranty.

~~~MOOZ~~Hope you got your exercise in since the chocolate won out(does that to me too!!!) That is good that you were able to donate blood esp when they were in dire need.
~~NITA~~~~thanks for the new ww cookie recipe. sounds very good, i'd have to freeze them FAST! or all 9 would dissappear Funny how so many of the WWpeople have been subtracting their points for so long and finally WW have decided to make it their way now!
Well, i will go for now but try to post again tomorrow thinlizzie
Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well....
I have been doing pretty good. Have been working out and eating has been pretty good. I have really been trying to watch it. Last week I lost 5.2, which was mostly what I was up from my vacation. I weigh in again tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes.
Nita..... I am also doing the flex points with WW. It seems to be working pretty well. I know what you mean about the scale. I wish I could only weigh in once a month.......
Catlover..... for your DH surgery.
I also missed Dr Phil. Wanted to tape it but forgot to.
Gotta run. Hello to everyone I missed and have a great OP
Wednesday to all.
Hi chickies hope everything is fine with you all. I am going to try phase one again of the SBD, it will be a hard two weeks. But I think that I will give it a try. I have been in on the site and thinking about joining it. It is similar to the WW one, but I have not decided yet, maybe I will by the book.
Tombo- are you a Wicox fan. He put on a great concert. I would go agian in a heart beat. He is some funky to watch. Good for you getting that scale moving again. I wish that I could. Take care this week-end with the up coming weather. I wish that I had some advice to give you but we don't get storms like that here I am not sure how much rain we are going to get here in the Martimes there has not been alot said. Maybe I should watch the weather on the news this eveing. Sending you to help watch over you.
Thin- you must have sent those pesky little things this way. They are still around and I am beginng to think that they will still be here in Dec. Enjoy your ride and have a happy healthy eating day.
Cha-Cha- do you like the flex points? I am trying to decide if I should join the SBD website or go back to the WW one. I wish someone would decide for me.
Cat- sending you for your DH and for you.
Mooz- NO MORE CHOCOLATE. LOL do you think that will work. I wish that it would for me. Dam stuff goes right to my @ss so I am trying to stay away from it. I won't even bring it in to the house. I have only been buying snack stuff that I don't like.
To the rest of you wonderful chickies have a great OP day.
Good Afternoon Ladies,
This morning I got up and walked 1.5miles. I was up to 3 miles, before I hurt my knee, but I didn't want to overdo it. My leg & toe felt just fine afterwards, so I hoping to get back to my routine of 3x a week. My puter is still in the shop, they called & said more than likely it was the motherboard... thank goodness for extended warrenty.
LittleChick - have you looked at the prevention web site. It pretty much has the diet in there. The book is half recipes & half of why this diet works... discuss the gylsemic (sp) foods to eat. It is a good read though...I was looking at the SBD website too... I don't know if i want to spend the money...
Chacha - WTG on your loss
Thin - the mosquitos are still flying here in Texas... I don't think we get rid of them til late Nov. Hope you have fun riding!
Tambolite - I guess I never thought the storm would go up there... I'm sure their are some good web sites on what to do, or how to get prepared. I'm hoping the storm dies down..
Cat - How is DH?
Nita, Mooz, Jodie, Hal - Hope you all are having a OP day!
Good morning each and every one of you!
Chacha -- CONGRATULATIONS on your weightloss that is awesome! One thing I did learn from Dr. Phil is we have to reprogram our way of thinking when it comes to food. Like today I went to breakfast buffet meeting hosted by our councilman. I decided I could stay on program and eat just a little food. I am proud to say I did well and I didn't go back for seconds.
I am still a little sad to see Dr. Phil is definitely coming out with his own nutrition bars--I knew I saw this some place and an ad appeared in Walgreen's flyer for this week--this is one of our largest drugstore chains. If we are to get real why do we have to have these fake foods added to our menus. I am not totally against using bars as meal replacement once in a while but I still believe fruit and veggies are still more nutritious.
I really like the flex program by WW--I haven't used any of my flex points yet because I am waiting for the weekend.
Well I had better go I need to do some sewing while I listen to my favorite singer--CLAY AIKEN, the young man from Raleigh, N.C. I have a video tape of him and it gives me a lot of incentive to get things done in my sewing room. Of course, every now and then I just stop and watch this young performer!
Take care,
Anita
Goodness--can't catch up on everyone!
DH is home, and I think already feeling better than before the surgery. (Of course, he felt quite awful before, but still it looks good.)
We actually went out to the store together.
Have figured out how to make my Avon calorie counter work, and will start that tomorrow. Guess I'd better bite the bullet and WI also.
Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.
Best to all--
Good Mornin' Chickies - just another quick call before work. That is all I seem to have time for now. My art classes started again last night so any spare time I have I will probably be painting .....
My eating is going not too badly ............. I am eating The exercise is not going so well as my walking friend is away for a few days. I will get tomorrow morning hopefully.
Gotta rush off now so have a great day all
Good Marston quote today .......
Shine a positive light
Feeling negative about your situation only serves to keep you stuck in that situation. Is that really what you want?
The situation may indeed be very difficult. And as such, the best thing you can do is to move positively away from it, leaving those difficulties behind.
Finding the positive possibilities will provide you with a way forward. Looking for the positive aspects of a difficult situation is not naive; it is a shrewd, realistic and effective strategy. Discouragement is never a foregone conclusion. It is only one of many responses that you can choose.
There is indeed a way out, a way forward. Do you want to find that way? If so, then shine a positive light on the situation rather than getting mired in its difficulties. Choose to move forward, and you'll make a way to do it.
Good morning chickies. I actually went for a walk last night and the sky didn't fall down. LOL. I had a good eating day yesterday. Stayed OP.
Oneday- I did check out the prevention web site and I decided to join SBD for the 6 week anyway I will decide after that if I will stay. It is only 6.00 a month american, but I would spend that anyway going to TOPS so I will have to wait and see how it goes and if I really use it.
Nita- good for you on the buffet. That is a hard one. have a great day.
Cat- glad DH is feeling better. I assume that you got your calorie counter from Avon. I have not seen that yet in any of our books I will have to look for it. Let me know how it works. Have a great day.
Mooz- I think that you are as busy as me. Maybe if you are painting then you can't do any snacking. I know when my fingers are busy I tend to get absorbed into what I am doing and forget about snacking. Have a great day.
To the rest of you chickies have a wonderful OP day.
Good Evening Everyone
1Day -- I hope you are correct in what you said about Dr. Phil donating whatever he makes off his bars, etc.
Yesterday on our evening news they had a special regarding the transfat that is being put into products to keep them fresh longer. If you see the words "hydrogenated oil" this means they have "transfat" added to their product. What they have found out is that our bodies cannot digest this product and as a result it is making people fat! I believe the Food and Drug Agency is giving them until next year to spell out what their products really do have in them. I, myself, have been very conscious about reading labels but I have never really read the ingredients section until today after I heard this report. Like I keep saying we need to go back to how we used to eat in the 50's, 60's and 70's and I believe we would all be in better shape.
Today was my day at the office and it really is easy to stay OP at work. When I came home I decided to make a breakfast instead of a regular dinner so we had two Kashi Frozen Waffles with sugar-free syrup and eggs with lowfat mozerella cheese. I also had one of my diet chocolate cookies. They really keep good in the fridge and if you eat one slowly it really takes care of your sweet tooth!
Tomorrow I am going to get up early so that I can do the treadmill, wash clothes and even do some cleaning. It is a little cooler in the morning and we can open the doors and turn off the air-conditioning, at least until noon. I can't wait until it gets down in the 60's and 50's--that's when I feel like doing things around the house.
Well ladies if anyone has anything good they have prepared lately please share your recipe.
Take care,
Anita
p.s. Michellez--I am still thinking about you! I sure hope things are going better!
Choose an attitude
In some ways, your attitude is the easiest thing to change because you can do it all by yourself. In other ways, your attitude is the most difficult thing to change because ultimately you must do it yourself.
Most other limitations take significant time and energy to overcome. By contrast, a limiting attitude can be changed in an instant into an empowering one.
Even so, affecting that change can at times seem to be an insurmountable challenge. That usually is the case when you identify too closely with your attitude, thinking that it is you and you are it.
You are, in fact, not your attitude. You are the person who creates, controls and maintains that attitude; it is yours to use and direct as you see fit.
No matter what other things may be going on, you can always -- always -- live with a positive, forward-looking, empowering attitude. It is not the least bit painful, nor does it require any special skills or resources.
All it takes is a willingness to exercise the control over your attitude that you already possess. At any time, in any circumstance, choose an attitude that will make life great.
Good Afternoon Ladies,
This moring I got up at 4:50am & went to walk with my group. When I got their my cell phone rang & they told me that they were not walking this morning. I went home & on the oxygen channel they have a yoga program. I could not do all the moves, but I did alot of the stretching. I need to get my treadmill back out for days like this.
Nita - I had heard about the trans-fat, but I did not realize it was the hydrogenated oil. I will keep a eye out for both.
Mooz - sounds like you are in control.
LittleChick - I had the worse headache on my first two days. I know mine was from the sugar withdrawls. It's gets better.
Hal, Thin, Mitchellez, Jodie, Cat, Chacha, - Hope you all are having a great day!
FYI - I will not be able to log on til monday. My pc is still in the shop!
Hi everyone --
I know it's been a long time since I've posted. I've been so insanely busy...working long hours, plus trying to help DH find a job -- he still hasn't found one, plus taking marketing and advertising classes at night, and we're in a bowling league one night a week, and I'm trying to design and create a logo for the new business -- and then I'll redesign the website.
And, guess what? Guess where I'm going tomorrow? To Southern California to see my mom. It's quite an unexpected trip. In fact, I didn't think I'd be able to afford to see either my mom or my dad before they passed on. But my wonderful co-workers who know my DH is still looking for work and know about my parents took up a collection and bought an airline voucher to pay for me to take a trip to Southern California to see my mom -- from tomorrow through Tuesday, and a trip to Northern California to see my dad for a few days the first weekend in October!! I was so very, very touched!! I still can't believe they did this for me! They are such wonderful, caring people. I'm so very lucky!!
My mom and dad are both thrilled that I'm going to be coming to visit.
Cat, how is your DH? He had surgery? I hope he's okay. Sending for him.
Sending to all of you who need them.
Love and hugs to you all.
Hello Chicks~~~
So wonderful to hear from you ~~MICHELLE~~and the good news of your co-workers. What an awesome bunch they must be! That must be such a relief to you to know that you CAN get to CA and visit your folks.
You sound like you have been extraordinarily busy too! Night classes and still time for bowling league. WOW! That is good, gets some calories burned and fun for you.
Wishing you a safe and productive trip
~~1DAY~~wow, good for you getting going so early in the morning, but bummer that the group did not walk today. Hope it works out next time. Well, it's good to try a new thing like the yoga..even if you just do some of the stretches it's got to help.
My GF and I walked 1.5 miles last evening. Neither of us have walked since we last got together! Must have gotten in the wrong 'rut'. But we got out last night. Now i hope i can continue to move more.
~~LITTLE CHICK~~wow, that sugar w/d sure is sounding scary. I wonder what i'd be like if i had to quit. I am such an addict to it and the coffee that i might bite someones head off!
I am proud of you and 1Day for giving it this chance to get outta your system YGG's ~~
~~~MOOZ~~Your day sure sounds busy. Hope you get each step accomplished like you want it to be! That cleaning would be in my list about 6 times, as i seem to just do a little here and there and get off target! Takes me forever to complete one room. I just never have gotten better at cleaning! LOL
When i worked i would always laugh and say "yes, i look organized here at work(and i was) but you should see my filing cabinet at home!". It's like i could only do it there properly. I guess i've been doing a bit better now that i don't work outside the house, but it will take years to clean up all the "stuff" ...dejunking as you call it.

How is your mom doing? And how far away is Orla's school?
Now with this cold snap i don't know when we will get on the motorcycle to get a picture. Sorry. Then when we do i will need to find someone to take our picture. Or perhaps DH will take it of me and the bike(tho i only ride as a passenger, not drive the thing! )

~~~NITA~~i think you really like working that one day a week again. And it does help to keep one from snacking doesn't it?? YGG~ Your weather sounds good now. Hope it continues so each morning you can get stuff done, like treadmill or walking. did you buy an elliptical? or had you used one at the center?
I haven't been cooking too much different things lately. I roasted a whole chicken yesteday and now we have leftovers for quite some time. Did do good w/the sides. We only had sweet potatoes and squash with it. And lots of salads when it's been so summery yet. Soon it will be soup time. I might make some homeade ones soon and if i come up with a good one, i will post that.
All for now you great ladies! Have an wonderful weekend all
