Carri - OH yeah you will be rocking the single digits before too long...and then...you know what around the corner!! Happy Monday, at least it's a short week!

Mel - Glad you're feeling relaxed...are you still planning on weighing in every couple of weeks?

Hope everybody has a great day, it'd be better without the snow though!

Hey Susie!! We posted at the same time. Yup I'm back on track today. I only went over by maybe 100 calories yesterday, which I know isn't much. But I found myself holding back on actual meals so I could eat junk, which isn't good. YAY for a target outfit!! I love target outfits. Can't wait to see a pic of you in it! And that's great that you're getting the painting done - that'll be really nice. I SO want to get some kind of renovation done....they're so many to choose from at our house unfortunately.

Speaking of junk though has anyone tried making a cake with just the cake mix and a can of diet coke?? I know Susie & Carri you're off pop but if you decide to try it, the cake is SO good. I made cupcakes for our BBQ yesterday with that recipe - and so of course the cals are so much lower and it's tastes like such a treat. Anyhow I don't remember if I'd mentioned that before so thought I'd throw it out there!

Yeah that sounds like a good plan, Mel. That accountability is so necessary, I think. I don't know when I'll stop daily weighing. OK, actually, multiple times daily, since I just stepped on five minutes ago. I always weigh at night, so I can predict the morning, I mean, who really cares?? lol

Four completely excellent days down! Back to ticker now and down .2 weight-wise -- not significant but lots better than last week. It's SO much easier when I limit carbs and avoid wheat and I feel so much better. Amazing difference, really -- I was eating more carbs last week and had some whole wheat toast and by the end of the week I had to hold the railing to go upstairs, had no energy, was depressed. A few days of clean eating and that's turned completely around -- and I can run upstairs again. You'd think I'd learn, huh.

Carri for you getting into the teens! Bye-bye to the twenties forever! I'll be really thrilled to get back to the single digits too -- lowest I've gotten in the past few years is 204. And when I get there again, I WILL be getting to Onederland and staying there, oh yeah.

Liz, holding back calories for junk isn't something you'd want to do on a daily basis, maybe, but if you want to have some occasionally, that's definitely the way to do it -- you are a rock star, no question!

Mel, I think weighing in occasionally is pretty crucial if you're trying to maintain. Any time I've stopped weighing myself, it's led to a gain. Which is really not the idea.

Susie, nice job on the exercise! I think I will eventually convince DH to try ballroom dancing, even if I have to wait until he retires. My plan? Tell him I'm going to go whether he does or not.

Auntie_g, I actually got through the whole weekend without a glass of wine -- I don't know when that's happened before. And I do feel better for it, which is encouragement to keep it up. I'm not thinking of quitting completely and forever, just making it a more occasional thing. Fewer calories, fewer carbs, more energy on the weekends -- good for me for now. We're having a big party on Easter and I intend to stay off the wine, which will be another first.

I hope DH's infection is clearing up and he's feeling better!

I'm going to stay home today and see if I can't get some house cleaning done in between work tasks. Also some practicing for a big concert on Good Friday. Yeah, I'd better scoot.

Let's make this a good one!

Liz- I won't lie I have been jumping on the scale a lot since I decided to give my body a rest lol I just want to make sure I never hit above 190 in the morning.

Arabella-Yay for eating clean! I am so glad you are feeling better!

Well Dh has had back problems for a long time and it started to flare up this past week after working 56 hours (he is driving constantly for work). Well he went to the dr and he just brushed him off and it really got me mad. I told him to go back the next day and see a different dr and I'm glad I did. The dr said he had a "moderate amount" of blood in his urine and the dr ordered an MRI. We get the results today and I just want to know whats going on. I have a million things running through my head about what it could be....then this morning when he got up at 3:30 am he started throwing up. Needless to say I made him stay home and he is currently sleeping...the throwing up made me even more concerned. So I will give you all an update when I find out what in the world is going on with him. My question is if there is something wrong should I go after the dr that just brushed him off?

Mel - I'm sorry about DH! That's scary. I hope they get the results to you soon! As for the doctor, I would definitely let him know. I know they're only human and make mistakes but they need to be made aware that any time a patient has an issue, it needs to be taken seriously.

Arabella - Good for you!! As for learning, well we all slip up, don't we?? And yes as long as I don't make eating junk a habit, I should be good...but it has been slipping in there definitely more than it should. Sigh. It's a process!

Hope everybody has a great day...DH starts his new job officially tomorrow, his last day at the restaurant was on Sunday, the end of an era!

Morning Girls...I didnt get on the scale this morning which was a big deal for me...trying not to do it until Friday, but we will see if I make that or not.
Gonna be a crazy day and night here in good ol Indiana, severe storms, possibility of tornadoes and large hail...hope the worst of it holds off until I get home tonight.

Mel - I know all about back problems...my dh has had them since he was in highschool ...and he has had two back surgeries, one at 17 and one at 32...his are always buldged or herniated discs. And it is very painful...please let me know what the doc says about the blood in the urine...hope everything turns out okay, but having gone thru it with my dh I know it is very stressful

Arabella - great job getting back on track and seeing a loss

Susie - yes I havent had soda in a long time, well I did have one a couple of weekends ago, just one...and I think it has really helped with the weight loss, well that and watching my carbs.

Liz - no, I have never made the cake with the diet soda, but I do know that alot of people like it ...I dont do artificial sweetners so I wouldnt have the diet soda...but sounds like a great idea...and thanks for the encouragement I hope I can see the single digits in the next few weeks !!!

Auntie G - Hi !! How is dh doing?

Well I hope you all have a great day....they are delivering cookies today from one of my favorite places this afternoon that everyone is looking forward to, guess I wont be having any but it is going to be VERY hard....wish me luck.

See ya,
Carri

Hey ladies Dh ended up getting a CT scan and all his organs look ok (thank goodness!). There is something wrong with one of the discs in his back so he is being referred to a spine specialist.
The storms sucked last night and I stayed up until 2am to make sure we made it out ok...which thankfully we did.
Carri-I hope that you made it through those storms ok!

Mel - Glad to hear DH's organs are OK - sorry to hear about the disc problems though. My MIL has so many back issues, it's so hard for her (she's quite overweight too, which contributes to the problem).

Carri - Glad to hear you did well with the cookies, I'm sure day 2 will be no problem either!

No news here, just working (kind of, it's not very busy...maybe lots of people took this week off??). Anyways hope everybody has a great day.

Hi Everyone--with all the rain and storms in Ohio I have been dealing with headache that started Monday afternoon and is now finally gone! It was so bad on Monday night I thought I might get sick--when it gets that way I have to take some Excedrin Migraine meds, make a ice pack for my head and eyes and go to bed and sleep. It works for me--so much better today!

I must have slept hard last night because I didn't know we had such severe storms...I never heard anything but eveyone at work is talking about them.

Carri: I know you can win the cookie war! I did want to share with you that I have a rule that when something like that comes alone and I just can't seem to stop wanting it, and if it is something that I am only able to have occasionally, then I will have it, but I have to eat it in front of people--I'm a binger so having that rule helps me with things like that.

Arabella: Great job getting back on track. I've never thought that maybe carbs and wheat could be making me feel weak and sluggish. Maybe I should try cutting them out/ or at least down with the carbs, and see if I feel better. I have a lot of days where I just don't feel good and it seems to be worse when I eat wheat bread, or pasta.

Liz: I'll be thinking about you and DH as he starts his new job. Change can be exciting and a good thing but it always brings a little stress with it.

Mel: Glad to hear that the MRI results didn't show anything wrong with the organs...I hope the disc issue isn't to complicated. I have minor back issues that can get flared up. I've been told I don't have cushion between my L4 & L5, so I have to do a lot of stretches and things to keep the space between those areas open.
One thing that my chiropractor told me to be careful of is how I get in and out of a car. He told me to never step one leg in or out and then the other, but rather to turn and put both legs in or out at the same time. When I do that I don't have issues very often but if I get off track and stop doing it that way I will have a flare up. Just a thought to pass along.

Ok--I must get back to work...have a great day everyone and stay on track....Sat weigh-ins are coming up!
