  • Morning Girls...had a good OP day yesterday...was even under 1500 cals by 100 so felt pretty good about that ...dh is back on the mend, he did go to bed real early again last night but says he is feeling much better ...still hoping I dont get it, so far so good, knock on wood...

Anybody watch Biggest Loser last night ?

Liz - I have been on a horse a couple of times and liked it, our good friends have horses and they are so pretty ...I think you should do it.

Arabella - you are doing such a great job, so I think you do deserve the ring !!! We need non-food related rewards...plus I like the pic, I love rings like that...

Hi to everybody else, hope you all have a great day!!!

    Carri
  • Liz- I have never been horse back riding before so let me know how it goes!

Arabella- I like that ring!! You deserve it after all the hard work you have put in!

Carri- Glad Dh is getting better, I really hope you dont catch it!

I did my biggest loser dvd yesterday and today. My legs are so sore! I am still doing really good food wise and with everything I am doing I better see good results Sat!!
Hope you all have a great day I am currently watching the freezing rain outside yuck!
  • Just a quick hello... I can't believe so many days get by me without getting in here, but it's just the way it is now, since DH went back to work. My puppy duties have increased, and what with the fact that I can't go on the internet at work, I think I'll just have to shoot for a once a week update. Anyway, Last Friday's WI got me back to what my ticker's been lying about for so long, so YAY! I'm solidly on the wagon and hoping for a good WI this week.

And now someone's at the door. Sigh... Well, I tried! Be good, everyone!
  • Hi! Busy/late days at work this week--we were getting things ready for end of the quarter. We made it! Now, time for me again.

I've been doing well with the food this week--exercise not there..I'll get back to it on Monday when I have my lunch hours back.

We ended up fixing DH's car--it was around a $400.00 to fix. We still want to get a new car but we are sticking to our plan of doing that in Aug. That will be one year withought car payments. We have done pretty well with saving that money--other than we used for car repairs but we have only had about $700.00 in those.

Auntie G: Good for you for getting even with that ticker! You are OP for sure!

Liz: I would love to horseback ride. I used to and am putting that as one of the things I will do again as my weight comes down and I can haul myself up on the horse! I won't allow myself to cheat and use a ladder or a platform--mounting is a part of horseriding!

Carri: I read about the soda--you have and are doing so well with it. I watched BL last night. What did you think about it? Comments on Rulon?

Mel: I'm sure the food and exercise will pay off at Sat. weigh-in. We had rain, and snow today--I'd love to see some sunshine!

Arabella: You are buring up those steps! Did you get the ring? I LOVED it.
  • Auntie- congrats on being at your ticker weight!!! That has to be a great feeling! I bet you will have a great weigh in sat

Susie-I am glad you got Dhs car fixed so you can stay car payment free for a little while longer.

Well I'm off to watch half of idol then go to bed, hopefully my DVR works and records it. Darn DVR is starting to not work all the time and only record 1 min of a show...drives me nuts lol
  • One more full day here, and a one it's to be. We leave for home tomorrow afternoon. I won't be sorry to go home but won't be sorry that I'll be coming back, either. It'll be better once DH has a condo over here and the weather's warm enough to hang around outside.

It's fun getting my steps in another town. I'm wandering around (wandering FAST, though ) and getting more familiar with the place.

Thanks for all the support on the ring -- knew I could count on you gals! Yup, got it on as I type. It's some kinda huge but I really like it. I'm going to use it as a symbol of treating myself well and looking after myself.

Mel, my DVR isn't recording all the shows I set it for either. May be time to turn it in and get a new one.

Susie, do you have a weight in mind for when you might try horseback riding again? Sounds like an interim goal to me!

Auntie g, if you can only get in once a week that's still a million times better than not getting in at all. We'll take you when we can get you. I don't always get in every day either.

Carri, I've gone off BL. Their stupid games and drawn-out drama just got to be too much for me. It would be a much better show at a single hour, IMO.

    Hope you don't get sick!

    Liz, mystical, ky30

    Let's make this one count!

  • Morning All ...had a good day yesterday, ended up at 1450 cals...gonna try and not get on the scale until Saturday morning and see if I can see another pound down...I started taking my Weight Control Womens One a Day vitamin again, I think that is what its called...has some green tea and something else in it that is supposed to help with weightloss ...I did take it everyday the year I lost over 60 pds so I am thinking maybe it did really help me...so we will see, just started taking it over the weekend...only time will tell.

Susie - I think Rulon might be the type to go home and gain all his weight back if he is hiding a whole bag of chips in his room and eating them...worries me for him...proves he still needs to be on the ranch though ...Jenny can go she looks good, she lost enough weight ...Courtney needs to be there.

Arabella - I know the drama and games on BL does get tiresome but I still watch it ...and yes I totally agree on the show only needing to be one hour...normally I dvr it and fast forward thru alot of it...oh and I bet I would love that ring, I love them BIG, I have a bunch like that ...

Auntie G - once a week is fine ...we just need to hear from ya, of course I keep up with ya on fb ...haha

Hi to Mel and Liz !!!!!

Have a great day everyone !!!!

    Carri
  • Arabella- yay for getting all your steps in! The DVR did it again I have so much saved on it I dont want to trade it in lol

Carri- You are doing awesome with the calorie counting!! Let me know if you think the vitamens are really helping.

I wanted to ask you all what you think about diet pills. I am getting frustrated and was thinking about starting some type of them. If you have one that you like let me know and if you think its nuts and shouldnt do it let me know too. I dont talk to DH about all this anymore so I need advice Still OP today but not seeing any change stomach size wise. I am getting so anxious about Sat and worrying how I will feel if there is no loss...if there is a gain I will be shocked!
  • Mel - I have never heard good things about diet pills ...so I steer clear of them ...my two cents.
  • Good morning, fellow pilgrims. Feeling uninspired today, I must say. Not enthusiastic but will "just do it" anyway. Went out and walked with DH, got most of my steps in already. Had, for the fifth morning in a row, 2 boiled eggs and a half-grapefruit for breakfast. The hotel provides a continental breakfast free. I should just be grateful they include eggs with that but... oh, I am sick of boiled egg & grapefruit for brekkies. For the first time, I had impulses towards the cereals and muffins.

Anyway, we leave today. I'll go out and get the rest of my steps, pick up a salad and some protein for lunch. I've got a low-carb pizza in the freezer for dinner. So... today will be a success.

Mel, hang tough, Honey! You've had such great success and the scale will start moving again. I don't think they've ever made a diet pill that was effective and safe. You look great -- enjoy where you are! And soon you'll be even better.

Carri, he was hiding a bag of chips in his room? Hahahaha! If I'd gotten that far, I'm pretty certain I would have destroyed the evidence before anyone found out. You wonder sometimes when some of the bigger ones don't lose.

Gotta scoot before I time out here. Let's do our best with this one, Wimmin!
  • auntie g - If all we can get is once a week, we'll take it! And YAY for being back to ticker weight!

Mel - To be honest I have never looked into diet pills very much, but I am kind of anti-medication if I can avoid it, so I wouldn't be one to use them. Good luck with tomorrow's weigh in - sounds like you are doing well with exercise!!

Carri - Sounds like you are doing awesome too! Glad you have found your groove. Good luck on tomorrow's weigh in, I'm sure your hard work will pay off!

Arabella - Well inspired or not, good choice for your breakfasts...although yes that would get tiring! Happy travels!

Susie - You're right mounting is part of it, and there was no way I could haul myself up there before! Now, shouldn't be a problem (I hope!). We'll see. I haven't heard back yet, but I'd like to wait for the weather to get warmer anyways.

Well ladies hope everybody's doing well - I'm doing OK although things still aren't finalized with DH's new job, he's basically been working both jobs for the past two weeks, because the boss for the new job is away and hasn't been able to meet with him to finalize things like pay and stuff (important details, kinda!). So he hasn't given notice yet. So things have been hectic with him working all the time....sigh. Getting burnt out here. I am traveling today to meet some clients, things are so busy with work which is good. Speaking of which, gotta go!!
  • Morning Girls, down another pound this morning to 223 ...want to get down another one by Sunday which I know I can do ...got to keep on my 2 pds a week at least to meet goal for FL in August...at least I am far away from the 230's now ...and hopefully wont be back there again...I started on the challenge here March 1st and today being April 1st I can chart how much I have lost in one month ...11 pds...so that is not bad for a month...I know I cant keep that up but would at least like to see 8 per month.

Had a nice evening last night, made some of my homemade salsa and baked my own corn tortilla chips, it was very yummy...today me and a friend are going to BD's Mongolian grill for lunch, you make your own stir fry ( you guys have any of these around you ? ), and they have lettuce to use for wraps...very good , low cal, and low carb - plenty of protein - just how I like it.

Mel - like I said yesterday I wouldnt use them...I know you can get through this plateau, just hang on !!

LIz - hope things get finalized with dh's job, I hate when things are up in the air !!! haha

Arabella - I would get sick of eggs and grapefruit too after a while...and now that you have mentioned muffins i want one, haha ...you are doing so great on the steps...I counted mine one day on a pedometer and didnt even get over 5k ...so you insprire me

Hi to Susie and Auntie G !!!!

HOpe you all have a great OP weekend !!! I know I am sure gonna try !!!!

    Carri
  • Woo hoo Carri!! You rock with 11 pounds!! That's awesome, congrats! And I'm jealous on that mongolian grill, it sounds really nice! None of those around here.
  • Saturday!
I think I'm going to like this monthly get-away. I enjoyed getting to know Halifax a little better and having different surroundings. And then it was nice to come home, too. So this could keep things fresh. And, when we come to the end of it, DH will be retiring and then things'll change again too. Feeling rosy about all this!

I haven't weighed myself -- low-carb pizza for dinner last night and I allowed myself an extra glass of wine and a handful of rice crackers. So probably up from salt. Monday's my WI day and I'm going to do everything in my power to ensure it's a good one.

It started snowing as soon as we got in the door yesterday. Bah! Steps in boots today.

Carri, you're doing FANTASTIC!!! SO proud of you. I'm aiming for 2 a week, too, unofficially. Officially, something like 1.6.

Have you come across shirataki noodles? I'm trying to lay my hands on some to try them. Zero net calories, zero net carbs. Sounds like a dream come true, assuming they're edible. Oh -- and speaking of muffins, I've got a low-carb recipe if you're interested.

Liz, yeah, that "pay" detail is one of the ones you want to get tied down. Geeez! Although DH's boss has given verbal agreement to him getting a condo in Halifax for the duration of the project, they haven't finalized that or given him a budget for it yet.

Hope things settle down for you a bit soon!

Mel, you know, the more I think about it, the more it seems like the body just occasionally needs to get itself accustomed to a lower weight before it moves on. Bet you start losing nicely soon!

    Have a fabulous weekend, gals!
  • Happy Saturday! Got rid of 4 lbs this week- woo hoo! I guess staying OP makes a difference. Imagine that!

Arabella, congrats on behaving in different surroundings! That's something that's always thrown me for a loop. Not that I do any traveling, but just being out of normal daily patterns... I looked for those shirataki noodles years ago- think I read about them on Hungry Girl. Couldn't find them anywhere. My sister told me, just a few days ago, that she found them at a local store. Haven't made it there yet, but I plan to. She liked 'em! Good luck with Monday's WI!

Carri, we're at the same weight and staying OP- let's get this done this time! And Rulon needs to go! Clearly, his heart's not in it if he's cheating while on the ranch. He's always kinda rubbed me the wrong way...

Liz, congrats on behaving even while life is in an uproar! That's another thing I've not been able to achieve in the past. But you are an inspiration... Hope DH's job sitch gets worked out soon!

Mel, JUST SAY NO to diet pills! Of course it can be tempting to get a little extra boost, but it's ultimately been a disaster for several people I know who've taken them. Either they end up causing you other health problems, or you get addicted. Just keep pushing through the plateau- it'll start moving again!

Susie, good job staying on track with food, even when you couldn't get your exercise. That sort of thing has got to be the key- that it's not "all or nothing"- we do the best we can with what we've got. And good luck with the car thing, too! We've got a similar situation, but still almost a year to pay on mine. DH's is getting old and using way too much gas, so we really need to do something about that as soon as we can. I usually wait as long as possible in between, but I think this time we won't be able to wait. Waahhh! Sounds like you'll make it, though!

OK, gotta get fancied up- my niece is getting married today! First wedding of the young'ns, so it's kinda freaking me out. How did I get to be this old? LOL! Have a good week, everyone!
