  • OK, let's see if I can catch up, at least a little bit...

So, after my good WI this morning, we went out to breakfast- ouch! 10 hours later and I'm still not hungry! But we did go to a nearby lake and walk pretty far around it, over hill and dale, we hit the dusty trail, and my muscles definitely got more of a workout than I'm used to! There will be a couple more off plan meals this week, so I'm trying to make up for it as best as I can, but I'm not expecting the kind of WI next week that I've had the past couple weeks.

Liz, hope you got your work crisis fixed! And hurray for not letting .2 lbs bug you. The mental part is probably the most important part of this. I can't wait to get that close to goal!

Mel, I agree with the theory about too few calories being the problem. Like Carri said, I've found in the past that sometimes you need to kick 'em up a bit just to get your metabolism, umm, metabolizing! They even addressed the low calorie thing on Biggest Loser this week- sorry, I forget if you watch it or not. If you change it up this week, I bet your head will feel better and you'll have a good WI! Fingers crossed...

Carri, sorry the scale didn't cooperate for you! But you've seen the lower numbers- they're lurking right around the corner... You know how it goes- tomorrow you could be right back down there! And next week's WI could be a huge woosh, too! But watch out for those cupcakes! Oh, and I'm so sad that Courtney had to get the boot. I was totally rooting for her for the win. I hope she gets the "at home" prize!

Susie, congrats on the -1.5!! And yay for the haircut and massage, too! I'm still trying to imagine doing things like that... Hope you have a good dinner out- are you able to make good food choices when you go out? Based on my breakfast, I clearly am not there yet- groan... Luckily (I guess) I don't get to go out to eat very often! LOL

Arabella, how'd you make out with DS's birthday? Thanks for the Cavegirl link- LOL- first time I've seen that angle, but I'd like to give the pizza crust a shot if I can figure out how to get almond meal. Now if only there were a healthier way to pile on the cheese...

Better get to cleaning- haven't gotten a thing inside the house done all day! Have a good one, everyone!

Ok, so here's the score. I had that one great week and then had a "mixed" week, a couple of salty snacks on the weekend and 2 of the 2.6 loaded themselves right back on me.

This week, back to counting everything, etc.

Auntie g, oh yeah -- DS' birthday... That's where it all started to slide. I had a small piece of rich, rich chocolate cake and then had a few other mishaps. Congrats on those two AMAZING WIs.

Susie, haircut and colour and a massage sound like just the ticket. I only ever had one massage but I remember feeling like I couldn't get stressed about anything if I tried.

Carri, strawberry cupcake to boost metabolism? I just don't know Wouldn't work for me -- simple carbs just do me in. I hope it was really good, anyway.

Mel, I concur -- too low on calories is bound to rebound. I did it for so many years. I think I used to feel fat in the spring and diet and exercise like a madwoman, lose 30 pounds in a month. But... here I am, right?

Liz, you're just settling down around your perfect permanent weight. Hope that work crisis is over!

Okay -- we've got a fresh, new week here... let's make it WORK for us!

  • Good grief! Arabella, I just got myself into that birthday cake problem, too! My b-day's tomorrow, but we had the family cake thing yesterday. I allowed for ONE piece, but then everybody left and there was still cake sitting on the counter, eyeballing me... I feel soooo crappy today!

But today's a new day and there's no cake left! So here we go...

Hope everyone's having a delightful Monday (if that's even possible.) It's going up into the 80s today and I'm going to get myself out for a nice long recovery walk... Have a good week, girls!
  • Hey everyone, its been a rainy day here...literally since 9 am this morning! I did a ton of yard work yesterday and forgot to eat until 9pm when I was done :X Today I havent had the best food day but hoping the one day at higher calories will help everything jump start. I did clean for about 5 hours straight earlier so I have been moving around. I will do personals later when I can be on here longer. Have a great Monday everyone!
  • Morning !!! First off ....

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bday2yo u:
Hope you have a great one !!!! Dont have too much cake, but do have some...its only once a year, haha

I did have my full on cheat day on sat as I said I think my metabolism needed it, havent been on the scale since, not going to until Friday if I can help it so we will see what happens...just want into the 2 teens...

I dont have time to do a lot of personals but hope you all have a great day !!!!

    Carri
  • Susie - Thanks and you're right, I did solve the work crisis and I will make sure they know it!! haha The only problem is my boss is gone on holidays for two weeks, so I'll have to somehow bring it up when he gets back, haha. Show us some pics of your hair - I need some inspiration mine's always in a ponytail!!!

Carri - Sorry to hear the scale didn't cooperate!! I do find higher calorie days sometimes show more of a loss on the scales. Weird how that is, hey?? I think we need to keep our bodies guessing! But I do concur with Arabella that a strawberry shortcake might not be the right option (but I admit to eating simple carbs fairly often - I guess it just depends on you and if you can just eat half and leave it at that!).

Arabella - Don't you hate it how easily they come back on?? Sucks!! Happy counting!

Mel - Hope everything's OK with DH's work! So much work stress going around right now. You didn't eat until 9 pm?? Oh my, I would have been fainting with hunger...or yelling at everybody! Or both.

Well off for a work trip tomorrow morning, driving out to Windsor to see some clients, staying overnight and heading back Thursday. My first night away from DD....sob. I'm kinda looking forward to the blissful aloneness of it, and of course the other part of me is feeling super guilty. Isn't mommy guilt wonderful?? Last night DH's work had a little going away thing for him, we went and I had two pints of beer....why is it now instead of feeling good with a couple of drinks I just kinda feel sick?? I hate that. Oh well - I guess it's a good reason not to drink! Hope everybody has a great day!
  • On the run, here. Just wanted to drop in to say

    Happy Birthday, Auntie_g!

May your day be fantastic and your year to come FABULOUS!
  • Happy birthday, auntie g!!!!!
  • Happy Birthday Auntie G!!!! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Since I'm doing this on my cell I want to make this short. Does anyone think I should weigh in every 2 weeks or will that make me more likely to cheat? Just wanted opinions
  • I can't believe I haven't been here since Saturday! I was thinking about you guys.

Auntie G: Sorry I missed your birthday! I hope it was a great one for you.
As for the left-over cake..that would have gotten me too. I remember one time--when I was just about at my goal weight--we had some left over cake and I took it across the street to the neighbor kids.
I haven't done anything like that in a while and I'm no where near my goal weight, so that tells me something!

Liz: It's hard to be away from family when you have little ones isn't it? I don't have kids but I always feel guilty when I go away and leave my DH--I don't like to think of him being home alone.
I laughed when I saw you asked for me to post pics of my hair--I'm horrible about taking pictures of anything! I still haven't posted the ones of the bedroom makeover.
I didn't do anything different with my hair--I wear it in a chin-length bob. I do have highlights and lowlights in it as well. I'll try to get a picture of myself taken and post it.

Carri: How is your week going?

Mel: You sure have been moving around a lot with the yard work and the housework..I hope the scales will be good to you this week.

I've been doing ok with the food and exercise. Not perfect but ok.

DH and I started Ballroom Dancing lessons on Sunday night! It was for 2 hrs...harder than it looks! As members of our YMCA the class is $8.00 a couple every week--I told DH that it was something we could do together besides going out to eat! I think it will be a good workout. I was so sore the next morning.

Today is my re-check mamogram. I will let you know how it goes. I'm nervous this morning but praying helps!
  • Morning Girls ...peaked on the scale this morning and still no budge trying to hang in there but getting frustrated as you can imagine...I did notice last night that I havent been going to bed hungry, and I normally dont see a loss unless I am so I must be eating too many cals I guess...been keeping around 1500 though

Auntie G - hope you had a great birthday !!

Liz - love the new pic of you and dh, you look SO small

Susie - I would love to take ballroom dancing...seems like alot of fun, but I know it would have to be hard, great workout though...good luck with the mammogram, let us know how it goes

Mel - I always say I want to weigh in like once every two-three weeks, maybe even once a month, so I could see a much bigger loss - but I can never wait that long...but I think it would be better for us all ...we wouldnt obsess so much

    Hi Arabella !!!

Hope everyone has a great day !!!

    Carri
  • Hi Ladies--just wanted to report GOOD News! They read my mamo right there and the radiologist said everything looked good and nothing suspicious!

I think the change they saw back in October that looked different from the year before was because a year ago I started taking hormones. As soon as I had that suspicious mamo in October I stopped the hormones.

The radiologist said that everything looked excatly again like it did when I did my first mamogram 5 years ago when I turned 40...so I'm very, very happy!

No, time to REALLY buckle down and get this weight off. We have a lot of weddings in July and Aug and I want to be at least 35 lbs lighter, so I can show off my thinner, more tonned body when I'm waltzing with my DH!
  • Fly by~ thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! And congrats, Susie, on the good news!!!

    Catch y'all later!
  • Susie-Ballroom dancing sounds fun and like a great workout! And I am so so so happy that everything worked out today,it is amazing news!

Carri-I'm sorry the scale is giving you problems Hopefully this weekend you will see a big whoosh!

I am once again up from last week...I swear it feels like my body needs a break and wants me to stay at 189/190. I am half tempted to try to maintain for awhile then hit hard and hope for a loss then. There is drama going on at Dh's job so I wonder if all the stress is messing me up...my face has been breaking out bad too
  • Susie, wonderful news!!! I am so happy for you! And keep that image of you waltzing with your DH in your mind, I find mentally imagining things really helps!!

Carri - I'm sorry the scale is being a pain...I hope it moves soon for you....it has to! And thanks for the comment about the photo...it was kind of a "coming out" photo for me on facebook...so many people that I don't see much had no idea I was losing weight, so when I posted it there were quite a few comments, it was nice. It was a pic from DH's "going away" party from work.

Mel - Sorry the scale is being annoying for you too! Perhaps maintaining might be a good idea...you can practice and then when you feel up to it, you can get back to losing again. Personally for me, I can't only weigh once every two weeks...I just need that accountability. I'm away on a work trip (just one night away) and I am already wondering what the scale will say. There's no reason it should say anything different, as I am eating basically the same foods (at least the same amounts) but I still wonder...yeah I'm obsessed.

    Arabella -

Well I'm attempting to do some work this morning...and then out to an appointment or two and then driving home. Apparently Katie was up from 11:30 until 4 last night....poor DH! She was looking for me. My poor baby!! (well babies, since DH didn't get any sleep!). Anyhow have a great day ladies!
