Way to go Ani 20kg gone is a MASSIVE achievement

As for what I'm doing, it's not exactly W/W at home, I've just dug out the books that I still had from when I went to the meetings a few years ago and am doing my own thing with it.

Chicken, pumpkin, cashew stir fry sounds amazing ... I'd love the recipe if you feel like sharing.

Anyway, I don't think I have introduced myself properly on this board, my real name is Julia

It's so great to see that everyone's doing so well I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else who is yet to weigh in.

God, Ani, that is so amazing, especially given your injuries!!! You must have eaten so well, and you were definitely due for a huge loss!! Congrats on the 20kg, and the under 85kg!!!

Littlekiwi, 1.8kg is huge! Well done! Sounds like the gym is working out for you. I would caution you with the WW points - they are worked out very specifically to your profile, so you should eat them all, although you don't have to eat the exercise points.

I just did the WW online last time, so no public weighins. I don't know, it's just the last month since my holidays, and trying to get off the cipramil, that I've lost the plot.

Anyhow, after all that, I lost 0.4kg this week, so I was surprised at weigh-in.

Hi girls!

Well, I'm back from my jaunt to Melbourne. I am going to move there as soon as possible (give me five years)...I love it!I didn't realise how small Adelaide was until I saw Melbourne. Wow! there is so much on offer there...oneday!

Ani - well done, love! That is such great news. I'm so proud of you!

Sounds like everyone has been powering on, regardless of dying vacuums, sick kiddos and colds. Well Done! I wish I could say the same - conference was catered, so I ate like a machine, and i drank as if the beer was free. Did I mention the beer *was* free! Well, naughty me, all I have is a big fat cold to show for it. Back on track today, I promise.

I've sorted out a few things in my head, too. I know where my heart lies, so I've dropped the Management degree, and continuing with International Studies. I'm also looking into a Dip. Ed, which would allow me to be a teacher. Who knows, maybe I could tour schools educating kids about climate change, or teach english to kids in Africa. It's a big world out there, and I want to make an impact.

I will try very hard to get in some exercise this week, but this cold is sooo evil. hopefully the cardio room at the gym is heated!

Take care, talk soon

Kylie

Stir-fry Chicken, Pumpkin and Cashews with Rice

- 120grams chicken breast fillet skin removed cut in strips (3 points)
- 3 spring onions finely sliced (0points) (i leave this bit out HATE onion)
- 1 clove garlic crushed (0 points) (i use garlic paste)
- 1 tbs soy sauce (0 points)
- 1 tbs sweet chilli sauce (1/2 point)
- 1 lime juiced (0 points) (I use the lime in a bottle)
- 50grams snowpeas trimmed (0 points)
- 1 cup cubed pumpkin, microwaved until just tender (0 points)
- 1 cup cooked rice (2 1/2 points)
- 4 cashew nuts chopped

Coat large non-stick wok with cooking spray and heat. add chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes or until golden. Add spring onion and garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Stir in the soy-sauce, sweet chilli sauce and lime juice. Fold through the snow peas and pumpkin and cook until hot. Serve on rice and scatter with cashew nuts.
It is only 7 points!!! (just remember to add more chicken and pumpkin and stuff if feeding more people, i always used to forget and my ex-husband used to go hungry!)

it is YUMMO

Holy COW I missed a lot. Kel don't panic about Jemima not sitting. They all do it in their own time. My little Ebony was 9 months before sitting, 11months crawling and just now at 15 months for walking. She has been walking for about 3 weeks and will be 16mths on the 3rd of August. She is what I call my lazy baby. lol.

OMG ANI AND GEN AND LITTLE KIWI AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO LOST WEIGHT. That is so absolutely fantastic. I am really jumping for you all. Me - reporting no loss this week but hey..... Hopefully next week with my business at TAFE etc I won't have time to eat crap, and next week I am working all week. The canteen had cheap food and yes some healthy food. I chose a ham and cheese sandwich over burger or chips or fried dim sims etc... and i made tea no cuppacinos.

Kylie it is really good to hear from you. Melbourne is wonderful isn't it? I love Melbourne. (Might have something to do with being born there?) They say it is one of the top most livable cities in the world. And very multicultural too. I want to take my BF and kids to St Kilda at the end of the year and to Luna Park then for me it's the markets markets markets. I LOVE MARKETS.

OMG JULIA it is so nice to meet you.. heehee. (easier than littlekiwi)

Ok I have to fly. need a shower then sort out a study plan. We got all our lesson plans today now I need to figure out study times to make sure before each class day I am prepared. Full on. They said it is a 40hr study load THEN the one day videolinq. pheww. I think I'll be cracking the whip at home here for some help hey.

Vonni don't worry, they lie about the study load to scare you haha.. lectures ARE much easier if you read the stuff first though. I am a totally disorganised studier, and always have been, so I won't perjure myself by pretending I was anything else! hahaa

Thanks for the recipe Kel, it sounds delicious!

Last night I brewed up a huge cauldron of pumpkin soup so I'll be living off that for the rest of the week.

I set my alarm for 6am to go to the gym today but just couldn't do it ... I ended up snoozing the alarm for 2 hours so I'll be going after work today. A cunning scheme I have adopted is to set my heat pump to turn on at 6pm. That way my flat will be freezing if I skip the gym and go straight home but will be nice and toasty by the time I get home if I do go to the gym. Perfect!

Keep up the good work everyone!

Kylie - great to hear from you. It's great to hear that you have a clearer idea of what you want to do… and I have all the faith in the world that you'll get there.

Gen, you still recorded a great loss - and that's two in a row. You'll get there! I know what you mean about structure … I sometimes think my life revolves around my Excel spreadsheet , and I agree with what you said in an earlier post; you can exercise as much as you want, but if you don't get the food balance right, it becomes an uphill battle.

Yay Julia - it's inspiring to hear about your weight loss. You're doing so well.

Kel I know a lot about cats and bugger-all about babies, but I don't think it's worth stressing about if Jem isn't running a marathon yet . She's so cute!

Vonni, it's nice to see you pop back in - I was missing you. But I know you're busy. How's it all going?

This week I'm planning to just stay on track and meet my various personal goals. I've learned over the 50 weeks I've been doing this that you can't predict what the scales will say at any time in the future (even tomorrow), but you can control your choices.

Ugh! 50 weeks! But I'm already a different person than I was this time last year. I have a lot more energy, I feel more positive, and I have learned HEAPS! By this time next year I hope I will have reached my goals. But whether I do or not, I KNOW that I am not going to give up until I get there.

OK - slept in this morning, so I must get on with it.

Kel! I have a mission for you!

Take this with a grain of salt, as it may be a total old wives' tale, but a friend of mine who works with babies said that they give them pure orange Cottee's cordial (just a ml or two) in a syringe into their mouth, and it puts them to sleep!!

Haha.. I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever! I don't know why it would work, but apparently it does - how funny!!?? I always heard of the red cordial = hyperactivity thing, so I have no idea why orange would have the opposite effect, but I'm dying to know if it works!

Nope, I tried it and its bull lmao. I think the sudden sugar high rushes in, then when it comes down gives them a drop suddenly and they're tired, but it doesn't KEEP them asleep.

Ani I'm doin ok. I've been eating alright the past couple of days, too busy to even put a dollar in the chip machine heehee.

BUT I eat brekky (weetbix) and lunch (sanga) and dinner (meat n veg)

Gen we have 9 subjects this semester, 7 next an a few less in the 3rd. The learning sup teacher was shocked at the astudy the teachers suggested and she said not possible, just prioritise and get a good study plan going. It may take a semester to get it in place but once there will be fine.

I drew up a plan in class today and it totalled 29hours (included my days lectures) We'll see. I don't want burn out and I still want my family.

Got to fly. Starving, having a late tea. Thats the prob driving back and forward, the cost of fuel and the hours. I leave at 7am and get home either 5 or 6 depending on lesson times. I am buggered already and it's only day 2.

Hi ladies

Vonni, it sounds like you're pretty well organised with your study plan. Good luck! I'm sure you'll get through it all just fine.

Kylie I know what you mean about Melbourne, I haven't been for a few years but it's somewhere that I really loved. With our weather being so rubbish this winter I've been thinking of Australia a lot and perhaps moving over there. It'll have to wait a while though as I wouldn't want to start over somewhere else until I've cleared the debt I have here. It's not much but still needs to be sorted.

I managed 60 minutes cardio at the gym last night and will be going after work today to do weights and 40 minutes cardio. When I was in the shower last night, I was soaping myself up and realised that my shoulders and arms are starting to feel really firm and defined! Whoot!

Julia, I just read your post as "I was in the shower feeling myself up" rather than "soaping myself up" and I cracked up. Haha!!! Same thing, I guess. Good on you, I used to notice my triceps popping out when I went to change gear in the car!

Vonni, are you sure you tried ORANGE cordial? Because I heard this from a neonatal nurse, who gives it to babies before procedures to calm them down. Apparently they use plain sucrose solution as well. Although maybe that works as you said, makes em sleepy just for a short time.

Hi Guys, I have just spent ages catching up on everyone. I don't get much time to get online lately.

Kylie, I do love to visit Melbourne BUT I also love Adelaide as it is just like a big country town and I am a country girl at heart. I hope you manage to get to Melbourne one day if that is what you want, also good luck with whatever course you decide to do....life gets so hard these days, too many decisions to be made.

To those of you who have managed to lose weight....CONGRATULATIONS and keep up the good work.

I have just printed off the chicken stirfry recipe, sounds yummy. I have a chance tomorrow to go shopping so will get some food in the house, been working too much to even manage to get the groceries each week. Guess what will be for dinner tomorrow??

Nana has had me on the run the past two weeks, she has been really bad with her breathing and they wanted to hospitalise her....she does this EVERYTIME I want to do something for ME (I know she doesn't really have a choice in being sick but it seems that way). I was going camping for the weekend but had to have CT scan, x-rays, doctors etc, fortunately my sister is a nurse and took her to her place in the country for the weekend so I got to go camping and relaxed for a bit.

Well I hope to be able to check in a bit more often but won't hold my breath.
