Evening Everybuddy!

Thanks for all the well wishes for tomorrow morning. I go into the hospital for 7:00 so I guess my surgery will be around 9 or so - not sure and I didn't ask. My sister fussed me cause I didn't ask how long the procedure would take! HAHA! I've had so many surgeries, I'm not nervous at all - just DO IT! HAHA!

Today was our last official day of school too. Usually at this time on the last day of school, I'm dancing on some speaker in a bar room acting like a crazy fool!! But, since I have my surgery tomorrow, I couldn't go! This is my absolute most favorite day of the school year - and I'm missing it! That just means that next year I'll have to have double the fun! It is just always so fun because all of the teachers from the parish go out and party it up! So, we get to see alot of our friends that teach at different schools. If some of the parents would see what goes on - they would reconsider sending their kids to public school!! HAHAHAH! Just kidding!

SEF: Glad your son made it through ok - y'all take good care of him now!

DEB: Girl - sealing the grout is easy. You buy the sealing stuff, you get a small paint brush and spread it over the grout (2 coats)and wipe the tiles clean. You can sit your arse on the ground and just scoot around! If I can do it you can! We've still got 2,500 sq ft of tile to lay in the house!! You wanna help with that? HAHA! That's laying, grouting and sealing! SUPER FRUIT to the rescue! I'll come seal your floors for you my friend!!!

GUMBO: So you lived in New Orleans huh? I live about an hour Southwest - you ever heard of Thibodaux or Houma? I live in Thibodaux and I teach in Houma. Enjoy your summer off - I know I will!

MUSIC: We are on the same schedule girl! We had our last day today and it was without kids - so nice! Enjoy your summer!

Well, I'll be back as soon as I can...shouldn't be away too long! I'll be around a lot since I won't be able to talk! Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers - y'all are the BEST!

Much love
Missy

Well I've made it through 1.5 days on plan. I posted my goals on the other thread - so now I have to stick to them. Thank you all for your support. I almost broke down today but I thought of you all and stuck with it. I even worked out this evening, which I rarely do because my 2-year old has used up all my energy - and now I'm all awake at 10:30pm!

Fruit - Good luck tomorrow - forgive me but I don't know what surgical procedure you are having done - but you are in my prayers. And, thank you so much for your words of encouragement - you are a gem!

Beth - Congrats to your DS! You must be one proud Mama!

Jenn - I loved the elliptical trainer I used at the gym - lucky you! I have a 7-yr old treadmill that I have always used - it is a big help having equipment at home to use. I turn on the news and before I know it - workout done. We have a Curves here - you'll have to tell us what you think of it.

Heart - What a beautiful family! The sand is so white! Looks like a wonderful holiday!

Gumbo - Welcome! I am pretty new here too - the folks here are soooo friendly!! Congrats on your good start.

Sef - Hope your DS's pain subsides quickly. You are both in my prayers.

Gracious - Hope your house facelift is done soon - all that commotion can be draining. But, so awesome to see all the changes when it's done. Yeah - weekends are my downfall. We go out to eat with my dh a lot on the weekends and I let my guard down too much. Then it's the old "what the heck" attitude. Great bargain hunting!!! Maybe staying at your current weight for a while would work for you. Then when you have more ambition you can go for it full force on the last 10 pounds. Or, maybe this is an ideal weight for your body - if you look good and feel good - that's what counts!

Jack-K - Thanks for your support!

Deb - go, Deb, go - good luck with a good WIW and one for 6/10. No matter what you weigh that day, though, you have achieved a wonderful feat! How on earth do you walk that fast? I have been assuming you were jogging/running. Yeah - you're right. We all do self-sabotage. I am a huge emotional eater. I noticed when I stayed OP for several days in a row, that my need for emotional eating subsided. I'll keep trying!

Tranquil - WTG with the personal trainer. I used to use one and it was a real help.

Monet - Wow - superwoman. Love the "house enema" - mine needs one! Good luck with all the cleaning - I'm tired just reading about it. Your sister is in my prayers. What an emotional time for you.

Toni - WTG with the exercise. Weight training is the best. Worst for soreness - but all the soreness means results, results, results!

Happy Monday everyone (well it's almost over now!) Gonna go take a shower to try and relax and get sleepy -good night!

Unhappy I'm still here

Hi everyone! Man, this is a busy group. I lost count of the number of messages I just read. I'm going to apologise right now, because I know I'm not going to catch everyone in this email.

Fruit -- take care with your surgery tomorrow. Let us know how you're doing when you can.

Heartmom -- I'm jealous. Vacation at the beach is my favorite. You have two beautiful kids.

Toni and Tranquil -- My exercising consists of an evening walk. I've been walking about every other day. I just seem to run out of time in the evening. I'll probably have to change it to the morning.

Sef -- Thank goodness your son's surgery is over and he's ok.

Debbie -- Loved the pictures you posted. Which one is you?

Someone asked if I'd checked out prettyimpressivestuff.com. Yes, I did. And it was, indeed, pretty impressive. Especially the before, during, and after pictures.

Well, today -- day 6 -- I fell off the wagon. When I picked up my kids from day camp, they asked if we could go to my favorite place in the whole wide world, DQ. My BIL mentioned going earlier in the day. Even though I turned him down (nicely), that started me thinking. Then when the kids brought it up, I lost all will power.

My breakfast, morning snack, and lunch were all legal. Afternoon snack and dinner weren't. What I need to do now, is to get up in the morning and eat legally just like I'd stayed OP today. I may have fallen off the wagon, but I'm climbing right back on.

That's it. It's late and I'm heading for bed. I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Default Tuesday Morning

Good morning everyone! Let's see here..updating...our friend came over yesterday and did a bit more work on the siding. He is slower because his injured knee but better slow than nothing! Had to call the supplier and make it very clear that we had to have the windows this Friday. They were not going to deliver them til next Friday and that would mess us up too much. I got what I wanted it seems..but we will know for certain when they arrive. So things are still moving along.

I have been cleaning like a banshee! I found a cool website that someone recommended to help women get organized with their house chores. I am an organized person already but we could all use some tweaking and improvement. With MONET and all her cleaning on the go and everyones response to the House Enema I thought someone else might find this sight interesting. It is www.flylady.net Read over the homepage and then the FLYing Lessons if you just want a quick overview. She gives some great tips and I started yesterday with some of them. Hubby already commented at how great things look! One warning, if you join up you get like 15 emails in a day because of the way she sends stuff out. You can read them or delete them as you wish. I read them quickly because most are short and have good pointers.

HOMESCHOOLMAMA- Hop back on the wagon girl, I am a specialist at doing that after the weekends now! You know what I think? I think that if I fall off the wagon with a special treat like you did and then jump back on instead of making the whole day a write off, I am in a better spot. I usually say, what the hay, and eat everything in sight. Sometimes if we just slip up a little, the scale doesn't register it the way it does when we go *whole hog*! No let it depress you, keep working at it!

JBUG- Keep up the good work. 1.5 days OP is the start of a beautiful thing, that is for sure. I think I remember someone here saying that the people that succeed the most at this way of eating are the ones who really stick to it strictly at the beginning. Try and be one of those people! I hear you on the weekend thing, but I am going to try and hang in there for the rest of June because we go on vacation the last week in June and I want to be comfortable in my shorts...which is asking a lot!

FRUIT- Praying for you and trusting that the surgery goes well. We will be waiting to hear from you.

SEF- Glad to hear your sons surgery went well but I am sure you will know more once he is over the anesthetic fully. Bargain Shopping is in my blood, my mother and grandmother have set the tradition and I couldn't let them down! The mantle is being passed to me and I had to be ready.

GUMBO- I didn't get to welcome you yet so I am doing it now! I hope you find this way of eating to be enjoyable because it really is rather easy and still very tasty. You don't have to starve yourself like on low fat and low calorie diets. The dessert trolly will get easier to pass up as you go along and see yourself losing. Make sure you measure yourself all over with a tape measure because sometimes you will lose inches and not pounds and it can be a real encouragement for you at those times- it is for me!

HEARTMOM- Nice pics of the family. That water looks so beautiful and so inviting!! It must have been a wonderful vacation for you.

Okies....kidlettes are getting a little fractious..gotta run!

Default Happy Tuesday!

I just ate an apricot for breakfast because my grapefruit was not a good one after a few hours I will have a few cheddar cubes for a snack.... I cannot walk tonight because I promised my friend that she and I would do something after work together - go see a movie, etc. But, tomorrow back to the gym for the Pers. Train.
TOM is due today - I have gained 1.5 pounds of water - or even more if I have lost some weight.... bummer - next week will be so great when TOM goes and the water too!

HeartMom - those pictures are great! I am so envious!!!! You need to just get back on track now that the vacation is over and get OP!!!!

Jack-K - Well sore muscles is an understatement, Screaming, Burning, Tearjerking Pain is more like it - hahahaha - I took two Motrin when I got home last night and then tried to walk - well after a little over a mile my arms were hurting I had to go home....I just laid down and vegetated, fell asleep early and woke up a little stiff and sore, but normal, not painful I guess I am getting all nice and healed today just in time to do it
all over again tomorrow But, No Pain No Gain....

Deb - I took the Triscuits and gave them to someone at work to eat....that way I don’t have them to worry about =) I brought to work a grapefruit for breakfast (not a good one so could not eat it), an apricot for a snack (ate it for breakfast), and I have some little snack size cheddar cheese cubes....at lunch I will have a
big salad....do you think this will be a better way to eat?

Sef- I am glad to hear your ds is home and though uncomfortable, doing okay! He is lucky to have his mom around Oh I agree, housework has got to be considered
exercise Just wait till you see the pic - it is Laurel and Hardy of me and Melf -hehehe - I have the dark hair, heavy - that’s me, just missing the Bowler Hat!!! But it is a good picture..... and she showed me the pics of your visit and they are all very very nice!!!!

3mills - I believe the cheese is supposed to be in moderation, and low fat cheese is best....I remember reading Buckwheat pancakes were in the book as okay.....

Gumbo - You just have to put your foot down and when dessert is offered say I am Full - don’t need it!!! I don’t eat anywhere where they bring the dessert tray around, but
when they offer it or start with coffee and dessert offerings - I just say Check Please Willpower - and if I have eaten op, I don’t want to ruin it all with something illegal....not
worth it at all.....

Beth - Congrats to your DS’s team!!

Fruit - Hope it is all quick and easy and a smooth ride to feeling better with your surgery!!!

Jbug - Keep up the good work - stay OP and 1.5 more days can fly right by before you know it - it gets really easy.....

HomeSchool - Just do the best you can and keep trying..... don’t give up - and start finding sf ice cream if you have to have some

Gracious - I will have to check out that sight - I love cleaning tips.... there is nothing that makes me feel better than coming home to a clean, neat, sweet smelling home! Right
now it is clean from all the work I did over the weekend.... and not having a kid around to undo all my work hahaha

Well got to get busy with work! Toodles, Sabrina

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone

Just got in from my walk, no jogging today, wasn't in the mood, too hot. Took me 59 minutes-big difference between yesterday and today and with doing my exercise 2 hours later.

I updated my e-mail addresses for our board. If you did NOT receive an e-mail from me please let me know. You are either not on our BIO BOARD or you don't have your e-mail listed on there.

QUESTION: What do you all think of having those recipe boards as STICKIES, and keeping them at the top? Opinions, please! Should we ask Suzanne if we can have separate boards for different recipes instead, like appetizers, desserts, main and side dishes? It would be a LOT of work to get them posted on the correct boards if we decide on this and she can do it for us. Any thoughts?

Tonight is this dinner for the board members that I am on for Michael's school. I think it's at 7pm, so I'm hoping I will be home in time for chat. If not, I should be home while in progress and will try to hop on if the computer is free. MICHAEL has finals this week and next and has been on the computer a lot, so I may have to take a back seat on getting computer time. Once again, I miss the weight training class-waste of money. I won't be able to go on Thursday either, LAUREN has an awards ceremony to attend. I know she is getting an award for perfect attendance, not sure if there will be any others, though of course, I hope so

Was extremely bloated last night. I did eat more than I should of towards the evening, just was sooo hungry and nothing satisfied me at all, but luckily I stuck to everything that was OP. It was weird, I swear, I look like I swallowed a spare tire! The area above my belly button and below my ribs was like a tire. Better today, but I can still feel that I am a bit bloated. On a good point, I did get in more water than I normally do

Today being TUESDAY TIPS I just HAD to post this little tip:

In the Feb. 2002 issue of PREVENTION it says:

Your overweight guys, listen up: Every 35lbs you lose gives you one more inch of visible penis.

Okay gals, lets get those guys who need to lose a few pounds on SB! Now we can claim it will not only improve their health, but will improve a few other things as well!!!! DARAMUS, ummm, I'm not saying anything else

TRANQUIL, CONGRATS on getting through your first weight training class. At least you get to your classes, can't say much for myself. Soft-spoken trainer? I just want to know if he's good looking! Some of those guys are such hunks it makes you WANT to get to your WT class no matter what! You said: I am a big girl, but it is not how much I eat Have you ever heard people who are overweight say they don't know why they are overweight because they hardly eat? I was one of those people, esp. after my stomach stapling. I had, and still have a small capacity stomach pouch, yet I was able to gain all but 40lbs of the weight I had lost from the surgery (about 140lbs). I surely didn't eat a lot, but it was what I ate and how much I ate of it. This is not exactly the same as what you are doing, but still, if you aren't eating enough, your body's metabolism has surely slowed down and you aren't going to be losing. Ask you trainer his opinion, he'll tell you the same thing. You should be eating much more than you have listed. I really would like for you to do 1 day of journaling for me and then e-mail me the info. If you decide to do so, let me know and I'll e-mail you how I'd like for you to do it. I think you will be VERY suprised at the results you find. With your focus on exercise and eating right, you probably will have better and bigger results. Of course, this is all just my 2 cents, but have found this really to work the best for most-it sure is worth a try!

HEARTMOM, thanks for sharing the pics. Wish they were closer so we could see everyone better. Was nice to see that picture of you enjoying yourself in the surf. Back to the grindstone now that you are back, you and your eating OP had a vacation-you may be surprised that it may not be as bad as you think come tomorrow and your appointment with the metal monster. Glad to have you back

JACKK, oh yes, I love those track sales when all the houses do a garage sale at once! Rare down here, but when we go up north, it's like heaven there. Last time I bought so much stuff I thought the kids would have to hold onto the luggage rack on the top of the car to come home! Ft. Lauderdale is only 1 hour away from me. That's where OLE OLE is. Wouldn't that be great if you had a few hours between the time you arrive and your cruise! I'd love to have the opportunity to take you to my fav. restaurant. You're going out of the port in Ft. Lauderale? Most cruise ships are out of the Port of Miami. LMK when you have more info and hopefully we'll be able to work out a meeting!!!

3MILLS, yes, buckwheat, soybeans and cheese are legal. Just remember, everything in moderation, as most cheeses are very high in fats. As mentioned, the SB BOOK is quite vague and to understand why you have to know that the authors of the book took the information for the book from a book written about this WOE by Michael Montignac called EAT YOURSELF SLIM If you can get this book at your library, it will help you understand SB much better. Anyhow, the book recommends that 40% of your intake come from carbs. So, depending on your caloric intake, that will give you your carb amount. I don't know what you weigh (if you posted it before, sorry, don't remember seeing it), but from what you've put that you are eating, you aren't eating enough. What trouble do you have with protein?? Do you eat beans?

GUMBO, glad to hear you've done well your second day. Each day, it gets easier. Just remember, this is a life style change. Yes, I have to say on behalf of all the gals (and our one brave guy Daramus), we do have a wonderful group here on our boards and it seems you've fit right in, the way it should be! My goodness, you'll be feeling at home more than you know when all the gals see where you are from! Being in AL you have a few gals here on the boards from your state, and from having had ties in Texas, there's 8 gals from that state on the board and then LA, you've got a couple! I'm sure you'll be comparing notes all around soon. My 2 cents on how to handle the dessert tray...right now, it's still in your frame of mind, but as you continue on with this WOE, you'll find that you won't even be tempted by that tray, and you'll be able to say "NO THANK YOU". Once you get the sugar out of your system, you don't crave it. And, what I always say to people, esp. newbies, which do you want more, the piece of XXX or the weight loss-ultimately, it's in your hands (and hopefully, not in your mouth!).

SEF, glad to hear DS is home and doing well, that's good news!! LOL, I had to laugh when I read that your arms could do some serious damage to someone-if we ever had to duel it out, I pick our hanging arms as the weapons!!! I see I have competition in the bargaining dept-as long as we're not competing for the same exact item, I'm okay, but otherwise, whoever better look out, remember, hanging arms can be deadly, and surely I'd win, arms down for that item!!! Our computer, believe or not, is NOT making any noise today. We leave it on ALL the time, only shut it down if it's locked up. I'm sure I'll be looking for a new computer during the summer, if not sooner. I have seen that brand of pita, but can't remember if there was anything not SB LEGAL in it. Luckily I don't have to buy that, we have a ME place nearby that bakes fresh WW pita, so that's what I get. 12 loaves for $1.25

BETH, I think BUSDEB & HAMSM have flown the coop, but there are still a few AL gals here with you. Glad GUMBO is making that one more. Continued congrats to DS and his team. Making the news is pretty big stuff I'd think! Hope their winning streak continues.

FRUIT, OMG, how big is your house? I think you have more tile than I have home!!!! Thanks, but no thanks, I'm not riding my arse all over the tile to do the grout, no way, no how-but if YOU want to come down and convalest after your surgery and do it for me my answer is YES, YES, YES!!! Speaking of which, once again, good luck tomorrow, I'm sure all will go well and you KNOW we'll be anxiously awaiting to hear from you ASAP!

JBUG, glad to hear you are doing well. When you have that urge to give in to bad food temptation, always give yourself a 15 minute rule. Wait, and if after 15 minutes you still feel an urge to eat it, THEN SLAP YOURSELF SILLY! LOL! I couldn't resist. Try drinking some water, or have something alternative at hand, you can easily get through som tough times. It's hard at the beginning as you get the sugar and refined crap out of your system, but it gets easier each and every day. As you can see from the beginning of my post, I don't walk that fast, and yes, I walk and jog, stop and go basically, but walking straight I'm def. not fast. Girl, if ANYONE can understand emotionally eating, it's me. I have to tell you, not once since I've been on SB did I eat emotionally, and I'm one who would eat emotionally during a commercial before this! If you are ever in the book store, look at a copy of WIN THE SUGAR WAR by Holly McCord, look at page 144 and you'll see my short little story. Don't forget to check out page 133 and you'll see FROGLOVER'S story as well!!!

MAMA, sorry, I tend to forget our newbies may have not taken a gander at our PHOTO ALBUM BOARD or our BIO BOARD to know who's who. I'm the poor soul on the right in the top picture of MEL AND I with the ice cream. You go girl, you get right back and dust yourself off and climb into the wagon and hang on for today's ride. You'll be fine!

GRACIOUS, I read about that website just recently in a magazine, but haven't checked it out yet. I need a site like that to help me get organized, I need organization as much as I need a million dollars - desperately!!! I have plans today to tackle my walk-in closet-wish me luck, I may never come out!!!

Please remember, TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST Hope to see you there! And of course, we can't forget TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!! Though I'm sure, some of you would like to forget I wish everyone luck with the metal monster tomorrow.

Will check in later! Have a great day!

Well....my post from yesterday (what post you ask???) got lost in cyber-space....I got signed off from AOL, and of course was ready to run out the door to get to work

DebBad news....there isn't a Trader Joes in my future town. Not even in a neighboring town....nearest one is in Santa Rosa, where my sister lives, so there's hope on stock ups. The good news is there are lots of small businesses...a meat market in town, local dairies, fruit farms, so hopefully the charm of it all will make up for it!

HeartmomThanks for sharing your pictures. The water looked sooooo good. Glad you had a good time, who woulnd't being in paradise!

3millsBuckwheat is legal, and cheese is legal, you just don't to go overboard with the cheese (as this Danish girl is easily inclined to do!). I didn't see any fruits or veggies on your post, except for the orange juice, so try to work on that! Are you exercising?

Gumbo Welcome! I love your name! Regarding your question....as for a fruit cup for dessert, so you have something, while everyone else is eating theirs! You can also ask if they have a SF dessert...some retuarants do to accomodate diabetics!
(and us folks!)

SEF I must have skimmed the posts too quickly, I didn't realize your son was having surgery. What happened? I'm sure with you and DIL he will be in good hands for his recovery!

Fruit Now do I need to get up at 4:00am my time to "be with you through the miles" for your surgery at 7:00am.? I got you through your other procedure, and I wouldn't want to fail you for this! Sorry you didn't get to celebrate school ending in full Fruit fashion...maybe there will be a wild-n-crazy party during the summer where you can let loose!

OKAY Confession time.....the Nancemeister has fallen off the wagon and needs someone to pick me up. I was in a rotten mood yesterday...one of those "I don't care" moods. I ate a bagel (not legal kind) for breakfast at work...someone had made homemade cookies, and a couple of those were shoved in the mouth...lunch got messed up...a pharmaceutical rep got me the wrong thing and I ended up eating Taquito's (fried corn tortilla's)
then....yes it get worse....when I got home I made stew and cornbread, and ate some cornbread.....then the family decided to have a Scrabble tournament and we made a big bowl of popcorn...WAIT....there's more....then after the popcorn, Bryers Neopolitan ice cream. I swore to myself that today could, would, should, will be different. I even walked yesterday, which usually keeps me on track. I think TOM is coming up and I'm weighing in at 237....I was as low as 232.5, so that's 4.5 pounds that need to get lost! Plus WIW is tomorrow, which is even more depressing, so I though I'd just get this all out in the open, so I can start with a clean slate today. I remind myself of what was said in the book "Today is the first day of the rest of your life", which gives me hope that I can do things right today.
Okay....enough! Gotta get ready for work...thanks for letting me whine!

Good morning everyone... Staying OP but need to make an effort to do something different with my food, don't you find yourself eating and snacking on the same old stuff? Need to look through the recipes and see if I can't find something I can make. Still doing lousy on my exercise. I just can't seem to motivate me...
Other than just plain gripeing all is fine the weather is warm. Been printing out birthday cards. This is birthday month for all the kids and grandkids..

heartmom- Did you post pictures and I can't see them? Sounds like you had a great time. Best thing is to get on the metal monster tomorrow and get it over with... Then you'll be starting fresh.

Jack-K- Sounds like you had a rough day. Great idea about the salads. Wish my DH would eat more of them.. A chef salad sounds good. Boy when you talk about the exercise I know you're right....

3mills- Someone can tell you better but buckwheat is legal. Sure doesn't sound like you're eating much. What about vegetables? Its 2 legal carbs a day. 6 to 8 oz. of protein. Good luck. I'm still learning stuff to.

Gumbo-Howdy there, congrads on doing well your first couple of days...

Sef-Prayers for your son.... I'm glad he's home...I know the feeling of wanting out of the hospital so bad you're afraid to ask for anything. So think I must be a whimp to, when I was in allot with my heart I wanted out so bad I would have done anything to get away...LOL

Beth- good luck at work... Those are really wild hours...

Fruitloupe- Heres praying all went well durning surgery and you have a fast recovery...

jbug- Yea for day three on the OP eating. Sometimes even an hour is hard and then you make it another hour and another till a whole day has past. I think everytime you have a little success you are building self control.

Homeschooling Mama- I know if I'd get out in the morning and walk I could do allot better... I just need to drag my butt out of bed early. I know I can do it. I think walking is one of the best.... You're right about the past is past make each day a new day...

Gracious- Is the web site the fly lady. When I used to post over at the Low carb board allot of people used the fly lady site to get organized. I don't even know where it is anymore... opps read down and thats the one. You make me want to start cleaning...

Tranquil- Well at least you know why the weight gain and it will come off next week. Hope you have a great day at work....

Guess I need to go fix breakfast.... Think I'll make two slices of turkey bacon and an egg. Have a great day.....

Unhappy Rain, rain go away

Happy Tuesday! Off to a grumpy start this morning, with Dan picking me up for work late after his dentist’s appointment. I did manage 15 minutes on the elliptical, which worked out to about ¼ mile. The fronts of my thighs are sure feeling it! I can only hope it’s working the backs of them as well.

Nearly had a disaster for breakfast, but managed to pick up some peanut butter for my sgww bread. I need to get up 10 minutes earlier to accommodate eating my Cheerios at home!

Question. How can I tell if I’m eating enough? Let me post what I have on the menu so far:
2 slices sgww bread with 2 tbsp. Peanut butter (usually it’s 1 cup Cheerios with skim milk)
1 sm. Apple
2 chicken thighs (boneless skinless) with approx. 1 cup broccoli and cauliflower cooked with Campbell’s 98% Fat Free Lower sodium Broccoli Cheese soup
2 slices Kraft FF american cheese
1 sm. Apple in afternoon if desired

That’s it until I leave work today. How can I tell what more/else I need? Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I was thinking of either a small steak or hamburger w/ ww bun, steamed veggie, and maybe a small salad for dinner. Last night was 2 smoked bratwurst on ww buns. We were so pooped after putting together that elliptical, we could barely manage to eat!

Deb – wow on the 1 yr. Anniversary of your weight loss goal! I can only dream of that for now. You are an inspiration! I usually do try and have food on hand. We’d planned on eating before our Sunday meetings, but because I bought the elliptical and we had to pick it up before the warehouse closed, I ran out of time. I made Dan a sgww ham sandwich, but only managed a handful of grapes for me. I’ll do better next time!

Tranquil – how are the muscles today? I’d love to work with a trainer – it sounds like a great way to develop a program just for you! Good luck with it.

Tree – thanks for the syrup info. What else can you put it in besides coffee? It sounds interesting!

Heartmom – wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing.

Jack-K – great suggestion on burger w/o bun and salad! We go to this place every week after our Sunday meetings, so I will try this next week! Curves for Women is a women’s only “gym”, where you go and do circuit training. It takes 30 minutes to go around the circuit of machines three times, and it combines aerobic exercise with strength training. At least that’s what I’ve heard You can check out their website at http://www.curvesforwomen.com

Gumbo – Congrats on making it thru your second day. It does get easier as the cravings subside. Someday I hope to reach a point where I can look at those desserts and not be tempted, either. I try and keep in mind that pair of jeans I have that I WILL wear again. Try to find something that works for you!

Sef – glad to hear your son is doing well.

Beth – Yay on the 17th win! Hard to type with fingers crossed, but I’ll manage.

Fruit – Good luck with the surgery. I can’t imagine not being able to talk, but I’m sure Dan would like that sometimes!

Jbug – I put on Droopy cartoons on the tv this morning during my workout. It was great not having to drive somewhere to get in some exercise, especially as it’s raining here in MN this morning!!!

HSMama – You will slip now and then. It’s part of being human. Try to climb right back on the wagon.

Gracious – I’ve heard of this Fly Lady thing. Does it really work? Do tell!!

Nance - sending the wagon to pick you up ASAP! I know I have those "I don't care" days. I'm just grateful I don't have them as often. That's how I put back on my last 25 lbs. I had two months of not caring after a relationship broke up. I'm betting most of that 4.5 is water. You'll see it drop in no time!

Toni - I'd love suggestions too. I find myself getting bored with the snacks I always bring. Then it's danger territory! I need to keep stuff on hand at work, where I have a tendency to munch all day if I let myself.

That’s it for now. Hugs to all!

Default Hello

Hi Everyone,

I am new and wanted to introduce myself and say hello. To be honest, I am rather nervous when it comes to meeting new people, however, my friend Tranquil is always telling me about how nice everyone is in the group. I thought it was time to give it a try.

I live in Florida and am the mom of three children, ages 13, 17 and 24. I am also mom to three loving, retired racing greyhounds that are now devoted couch potatoes. I have been a homemaker for the last 18 years but will be starting a new chapter in my life due to an upcoming change in marital status.

I started SB in April along with my friend Tranquil. It has been so wonderful to have a buddy living in the same town to help me stay on track with eating. She is a great inspiration! Thank you Tranquil! I weighed 241 when I began and am now at 224. I have been stuck at 224 for the last couple of weeks. My biggest obstacle is the urge to eat illegal food during times of stress.

I'm looking forward to talking with everyone!

Hey Gang!

I walked when I got home from work last nite, around 5:30. It was 90 degrees. I thought I was going to die. I was ringing wet from my hair to my socks. My DH said it is good to sweat. I surely sweated 2 pounds off. This morning I decided to walk at 5:30 am, it was better, a little. It is 94 here today. I said I wanted hot.

Sef, Glad your DS is doing OK. Wishes for a speedy recovery.

Gumbo, Eating out can be ok. Stick with some meat, salad and veggies. I don't know what motivation would help you pass up the dessert tray except for detox headaches. Domeone posted a quote the other day which I thought was good, "Nothing tastes as good as slim feels". Good luck

Sef, I'm with you on the crackers. I want something other than triscuits. I found a ww one which I think is legal. I'll post the name and ingredients.

Mills, I believe buckwheat is legl. I use the buckwheat pancakes.

Beth, Good luck on the game tonite!.

Fruit, Prayers for your surgery today. Wishes for a speedy recovery. Hurry & get back on board, we will "talk" to you.

Jbug, WTG on ticking with it when you were tempted. This does get easier, believe me. So does the exercise. You just have to DO IT! The secret is to plan ahead and always be prepared. Good luck.

HSMama, Hurry and jump right back on that wagon. Don't let yourself go. DQ has NSA dilly bars and orange bars. Get the burger w/o the bun. There is almost always something you can do. It's no fun losing the weight twice. Hang in there I know you can do it.

Gracious, thanks for the website tip. I will check it out.

Tranquil, I find soaking in a hot tub really helps my muscles. Wish I had a hot tub. Give it a try. Don't wory, you will "work-out" all the soreness tomorrow. LOL

Deb, Hope Lauren wins lots of awards tonite. She is such a smart child. Good luck. Don't have much opinion on the stickie, cause I don't really understand it all. As far as making individual sections for recipes, they are not hard to find now and if it is a lot of work for someone, I wouldn't fool with it. IMHO.

Nance, Nance, what are we going to do with you? Tape???. Now you are going to have to lose more than the 4.5. It's not fun doing it twice. When you get that urge, call someone, get on board. Don't do it. WTG on starting again today. Hang in there. I hour at a time if necessary.

Toni, I am getting bored with my food to. That's why I asked for BF suggestions last week. I don't eat a wide variety of things anyway, so that adds to the problem. I hae a binder full of recipes, but I tend to make the same old stuff. I need to research some too. Good luck.

Jenn, I like your determination. You will get in those jeans. That's the way to think. When you go to some fast food place always ask yourself, what do they have that will work with SB, don't just thin they don't have anything. There is always a way around it to make it work. Good luck.

Serene, Welcome. Glad you decided to join us. It's a great group here. Glad you have Tranquil to help you along. She is great. She'll keep you on a tiht leash. Looking forward to getting to know you. Sorry about your marital change. I have 2 grils about the same ages as yours, 19 & 22. Good luck.

Well, it has been pretty busy here today. The girl who does our payroll is going on vacation in 3 weeks, so I have to do payroll when she is gone, so I like to do it for severl weeks before hand so I really know what I am doing. That takes up a lot of my SB time

I'll try to get back on before I go home. Later.

Default Low Carb???

Hi everyone- sitting here wainting for the air conditioner fixit man who OF COURSE is late, so I thought I'd post. That should gaurentee he'll show up.
FRUIT- Hope all goes well today and you can get your fingers movin on the keyboard asap and let us know how you are.

Deb- I'd forgotten about those pictures! That stuff tasted sooo good, but OMG was I sick! About your question re low/no carbs: I don't know where you got that idea. I eat TONS of carbs (and food in general). About 120 gr. /day, not including vegetables. I eat oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice, barley, very occiasionally sgww pasta, just NO BREAD. How do I feel? stuffed. I think I need to cut the portions or lose 1 of those carb servings, cause the fat level is stuck again. Also eat 120 gr. protein/day. LOTS of food.

ok- fixit (or maybe not) man is here- bye

Default my screen name

Someone IM me and before I could respond, they were signed off. She wanted to know what is the meaning behind my screen name. It is simple- I am the Mommy of Boogie(Joseph) who has a serious heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome(HLHS). In other words, he doesn't have a left ventricle(the main pumping chamber of the heart). If you would like to see his web page, then go to babiesonline and enter in Garrett as the last name.

HiedieHo All!!!

DS is doing fine. Walks around a little stiff, has a drainage bag hanging from his neck. Has some pain, even with the pills, so know he must be hurting as he has a high tolerance.

FRUIT: Prayers are with you. Hope all goes well. Just think you're husband will have what mine used to call a perfect wife, one that can't talk!

GRACIOUS: Apprently you wear the mantle well.

DEB: I don't ave the package up here, but there is nothing NOP on the label, only about three ingredients. WOW!! I pay that much for 6 pitas!

NANCE: DS had a very large melon sized fatty tumor on the back of his neck. He developed two several years ago (about size small lemon), but they were small, insurance comsidered them cosmetic and doctor said not to worry. But the upper one has been growing and DS is not a doctor person, so won't go to one. Then he came home one day and asked DIL to make a doctor appointment as the tumor had been interferring with head movement. Now the insurance will pay because it's considered medical necessity. They removed both while they were at it. Probably more information then you really wanted!!

Tsk! tsk! Tsk! The things we do to ourselves! I don't know how many "first days...rest of life" I've had. Too many! But we grab ahold of ourselves and start all over again! So you shall!

TONI: You and my DS aren't wimps! Misguided foolish souls maybe but not wimps. There's some kind of fortitude there that will let you grit your teeth and bear the pain to get what you want. When I had two of my surgeries he nurse would come in regular intervals with a shot at first and pills later on. I'd complain that I didn't ask for anything and the reply was usually that "No and you're not going to, don't want you to get that far along you have to". Easiest recoveries I had!

SERENE: Welcome. How nice that you have someone to compare notes with about this woe. Tranquil is a good contributor to this board. We are a good group here, caring and sharing is the name of the game.

JACKK: Looking forward to seeing if I can find the leagal ww crackers you have found when you post name etc. The hot tub is great, but I like being able to get in the pool best. Basically, I think because I can move around and exercise in pool as opposed to sitting in tub.

HEART: Son is a real cutie!

Okay gotta run to store. Hope I can get into chat tonight.
